20th February ( Monday) 23rd February ( Thursday ) Week 2 On 20 January, we discussed the Padlet task given by Madam Nirmala during Week 1. The questions were related to KSSM and DSKP. We learned a lot on that day such as about how to write content standards and learning standards, also the strategies of teaching for 21st century. We learned about collaborating activity, cooperative activity and group work activity too. I took a lot of photos since it’s my first day going to campus after recovering from my knee injury That day, we learned more deeply about writing a lesson plan such as how to make a perfect LP in the future. That day, I learned that every detail of the lesson plan had to be done precisely based on the right format. We need to use the right Content Standard and Learning Standard based on DSKP.

27th February ( Monday) We summarised the topic last week and learned about the second topic which was Teaching and Learning Objectives on that day. Madam Nirmala explained to us about few ways to write a perfect learning objectives such as by using “SMART”. We also did a few task, like creating a story based on the Bloom taxonomy. It was about common language for teachers to discuss and exchange learning and assessment methods 2nd March ( Thursday ) Sadly, on March 2, Me and few of my friends, we couldn't go to class because we had to participate in the PEC Carnival at Chancellor Hall. However, I asked my classmates about what happened that day. The class was taken by Madam Siti Hajar and there was a task given to the class. By the way, we won Week 3

6th March ( Monday) We had an online class that day. The class started at 6 p.m. That evening, we learnt about teaching and learning objectives or specifically about learning objectives. We did discussed the task which was the learning objectives that my classmates did during the previous class on 2nd March. We also learned about Set Induction which is the first step at the beginning of the class in order to gain the students' attention 9th March ( Thursday ) That day, we continued to learn how to write set induction for lesson plan. We had to work in groups and create a set induction according to the topic we chose. Each group had to give a presentation in class. Some students were chosen and some volunteered to do the presentation. Madam Nirmala also gave feedback after each presentation. Week 4

We created a board game that can be used for all topics. It is a straightforward game and easy to implement in class. Students can have fun while doing the task. The game can also be used for all skill. However, during presentation we demonstrated specifically for writing skills. Students have to solve and answer the questions and at the end, the teacher checks the answers written by students and discuss them with the whole class. Week 5 & 6 We also had a chance to listen to the feedback given by Madam. I can say that our group did a great job. Same goes to the others. Good job everyone

23rd March ( Thursday ) That day, Madam asked us to proceed with the remaining group that had to do the presentation of project 1. Once we finish, we need to be in a group and each group was assigned to one teaching aid and we had to explain on how to use the teaching aid in the class. My group was assigned to the “Big Book“ and I am the one who represented my group as the presenter. We didn’t have to show physically but only explained it verbally. Big Books are basically an enlarged versions of texts that allows an educator to implement Shared Reading. So me and my group mates did some research and explained to the whole class about it. It was the first day of Ramadhan by the way Week 6

Week 14 15th May ( Monday) We learnt about how to use whiteboard in a correct way. We got to know more details about the appropriate ways to write on the whiteboard. Madam asked us to bring a Mahjong paper so that we can practice our writing skills on whiteboard. It was really fun doing the task. We did the task outside of our class. We laughed a lot looking at each other’s writing skills but we also learned a lot that day 18th May ( Thursday ) That day, Madam Nirmala asked us to go around campus to interview students from different courses about their class experience. Few of the questions were How does your lecturer usually start the class? Does the lecturer ask questions often in class? and etc. I had a fun time asking students randomly around campus since we got a chance to listen from different perspective. We were given 20 minutes for the interview and we headed back to our class for a quick presentation. That was the best experience ever.

-The EndI was worried about this subject at first. Can I survive this? This class requires a lot of mock teaching presentations. I've always been good at speaking, but teaching in class is not my strong point. I needed more detailed information, and that was something I lacked, but this subject and personally, Madam Nirmala and my classmates helped me a lot. By taking this class, I was able to develop my teaching knowledge, develop critical thinking, writing better lesson plan, and develop effective teaching strategies. One of the assignments that helped me achieve this result was the Mock teaching. In class, we spent time learning different topics which helped me to be able to apply the right method when teaching in the future. MICROTEACHING thank you CLASS OF FEB2023 xoxo, ifa
