With a new year brings new possibilities, new potentials, and new Meet the
challenges.  There are many times in life where we start over, such as a new board
job, a new move, and with it comes new opportunities for growth.

Taking Traditions Abroad

MPSN member Dr. Dania Zantout shares how she's
taken her Thanksgiving traditions from the United

States and brought them to the UAE 

     Thanksgiving is very meaningful to me.  Besides  loving to do math, I am passionate
about cooking.  While I did not grow up celebrating it, I started doing it once I started
my family in the US.  It was the most wonderful time of the year with the pleasant
weather filled with the aroma of pumpkins, sweet potatoes and cinnamon.  I used to
enjoy it so much especially when I was working as a faculty member and Thanksgiving
was the only long weekend in the fall semester I used to look forward to.  I used the
time off to forget all about the busy lifestyle that we had and to be grateful of all the
blessings that God has given us.  It was a day mostly spent in the kitchen crafting our
big bird and surrounded by the sweetness and warmth of my small family.

Here are some of my latest pictures.  One was taken
during the last Thanksgiving we had in the US and
the second was during the first Thanksgiving we
had in Abu Dhabi, blessed to be around friends.

Meet the Board

Every year the board holds elections.  Since of the formation of
MPSN in 2017, this was the second election cycle.  We are

happy to report that many board members decided to stay on
another year which is a testament to how dedicated they are to
helping families adapt to UAE life.  If you would like to contact

Jane Browne, President
Jane and her husband arrived to Abu Dhabi in August 2014 along
with their three children, and  the fourth arriving ten days later.
Her husband, Ciarán, works with the Emergency Medicine
Institute. Jane and her family come from Dublin, Ireland.

Sumiah Aduib, Vice President
Sumiah is a Libyan American who has been living in Abu Dhabi
for three years now.  She is a mother of two and works as a stylist
and personal shopper. Her husband, Mahmoud, is an
Interventional Cardiologist. Her background is in Print
Journalism and she enjoys working out and cooking.

Claire Cartwright, Secretary
Claire is from Cornwall, a beautiful county in the South-West of
the UK, and moved to Abu Dhabi in August 2014. Her husband,
Tony, is an Anesthesiology Consultant Physician and they have
two sons and a daughter. She enjoys tennis, beach walks and
interior design.

Meet the Board

Reema Abuelroos, Membership Director
Reema is here to help old and new members acclimate to Abu
Dhabi and get to know the city she’s come to love and call home.
Her motley crew and her are celebrating their two year
anniversary here in the land of sand and it finally feels like home,
a home she truly loves.  She looks forward to sharing that feeling
with MPSN members.

Samala Khan, Communications Director
Samala moved to Abu Dhabi from the United States in August of
2014 along with her two children and husband, Safdar, who works
in the Emergency Medicine Institute. Before moving to the UAE
she worked for ten years as an optometrist. Her hobbies include
art, writing, yoga and travel.  

Nadine Saleh, Activities Coordinator
Nadine moved to Abu Dhabi in 2014 with her husband, Khaled, a
physician in the Respiratory and Critical Care Institute, and their
four kids. Originally from Lebanon, she moved here from Arizona,
USA, after spending most of her adult life in the US. She enjoys
exercising, traveling, and spending quality time with friends.

Dena Nusair, Event Coordinator
Dena moved to Abu Dhabi two and a half years ago from the
United States. Her husband, Ahmad, is an Infectious Disease
doctor. They have three children. Her hobbies include bowling
and horseback riding.
