LITERATURE REVIEW The younger generation plays an important role in preserving local folklore. According to some statements, the young generation now acts as an important mediator in producing folklore is more reliable and not out of date. Not only that, the young generation is also an important component in keeping local legends from growing fast modernization. This is ironic because of the behavior of people today, especially the the younger generation, more turning to foreign country stories and the use of quality foreign country stories seem to be of better quality because modernization and globalization. (Salehudin Mat Rasad, February 2022, Utusan Malaysia) Among the younger generation today, they are less interested in folk tales because they are considered no longer relevant to the development of the times in the modern, modern era of globalization. They find it funny when they read folk tales, where a character is riding a horse. In their minds, the character in the folklore must be driving a sophisticated jet plane. (Heru Purwanto, 2008, AntaraNews.com) In today's observation, the young generation between the ages of 12 and 17 years old on average do not know folk tales that were once famous, not to mention folk tales that have never been introduced. This kind of thing is very sad because it seems to kill quite popular entertainment and set an example for society since ages. (Zafirah Zaidi, 2021.
