Our girls have finally shifted back to Taman Mawar into the New Girls’ Building.
We thank you for your generosity in providing valuable support in helping us
complete this momentous task.

miracle for us and it is all thanks to you for making it happen. Your support is
invaluable to our cause and no words can fully describe the gratitude we have towards you.

MORE BLESSED!
Dear Beloved donors, sponsors, supporters and volunteers!
May God's Bountiful Blessings be upon you!
We from Sunbeams Home would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to you
for blessing us so generously.
The Bible says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive!" As you have given to
Sunbeams, we know that God will bless you more in return. We in Sunbeams also
seek to live out the "more blessed" life by giving to others. We bring our youth in teams regularly to
Orang Asli settlements to serve the families there and deliver provisions to them. In doing so we have
seen more blessings being poured upon us.
There are 2 seas that picture 2 kinds of people. The "Sea" of Galilee and the Dead "Sea" - both are
huge lakes. The Dead Sea is dead, with no life in it because its water is stagnant. It takes in water but
has no outlet. Because it gives out nothing it is dead. Similarly, anyone who only "takes" in life and
never gives will be "dead".
The Sea of Galilee however thrives with life and is full of fishes and lots of productive activities.
Why? It is because the Sea of Galilee has rivers flowing into it (receiving) as well as a river flowing
out of it (giving). You are like the Sea of Galilee! Thank you for giving to Sunbeams and our prayers
for you, and our confident assurance is that God will continue to bless you richly.
With much appreciation and love from Sunbeams Home! From
Ps

Thanksgiving Corner
We at Yayasan Sunbeams Home count ourselves as very blessed for we have the invaluable support
from our dearest sponsors, well-wishers and donors. We truly appreciate the generous support given
to us and we are ever thankful. In this issue, we would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation for the
kind sponsorship of the church The Hope of Glory Centre. The children of Yayasan Sunbeams Home
would like to extend their appreciation to the members of The Hope of Glory for their guidance and
companionship. To all members of The Hope of Glory Centre mention or unmentioned, know that your
generous support and the time you have spent with the children are cherished by all in Yayasan
Sunbeams Home.
I wish to say a big thank you to all the teachers in Children's Church for
preparing the lesson to teach us every Sunday.
-Michael Su
Thank you, Brother Calvin for bringing me and my friends out for lunch
and coming to give us tuition and spending time with us in Sunbeams
Home.
-Wallace Lee
Dearest Pastor Khor, your dedication and passion for the Lord has been
such an inspiration to me. Your messages and advice have been a source
of encouragement to me in times of distress. Thank you so much from
the bottom of my heart for all that you have done.
-Delny
To be able to spend time in the company of the members of HGC is the
purest form of bonding in life. I am very grateful to have such
inspirational and caring individuals in my life in my time of sorrow. I
would like to especially thank sister Trisha for the deeds she has done.
Though it might seem like her good deeds are insignificant but it has
greatly impacted my life for the better. Especially the meaningful and
encouraging words and advice that were said are greatly cherished.
-Darrel

Thank you, Sister Jane for bringing me and my friends out for lunch and
spending time with us. We enjoyed the time we spent together.
-Ruth Yap
I want to thank you Pastor Lee Ping for taking me out to spend quality
time together. We have spent time talking to get to know more about
each other. Even though she has taken me out on just a few occasions,
we have fostered a relationship. I hope Pastor Lee Ping and I will have a
closer relationship not just temporarily but in the long term.
-Vivian Yap
A big thank you to the KKB Team for giving us the opportunity to serve
alongside you all in helping the people of Kampung Gerachi. I am glad to
be a part of the team and enjoyed the fellowship. I had so much fun
serving alongside you, especially Sister Helen for her leadership and
care. May we continue to serve together and I would love to learn more
things from you all.
-Fiona
For all the care they’ve given me during the whole of 2022 in HGC, I
would like to thank Sister Edna and Brother Jia Bao. Among all the
church members, I appreciate them the most as they’ve helped me a lot
throughout the year, especially Sister Edna. She's been guiding me with
my piano playing skills and she’s always there for me whenever I need
someone to talk to. Even though she’s busy at times, she has never
forgotten to care for me and hang out with me. She has been like a big
sister to me and I really want to thank God for sending someone like her
to me. If I ever have the chance, I just want to say, “Thank you for always
being there for me especially when I’m feeling low. I’m really glad I’ve
met someone like you in my life. No matter how much time has passed, I
will always remember you as my big sister. I love you, Sis!”

A lack of patience proved to be a challenge for me during the recent DOE
practice journey. As part of a group, we needed to stop on numerous occasions
during the 16-kilometre hike to wait for other team members who were lagging
behind. At first, I found it frustrating because I was not a patient person. I was of
the opinion that they were slowing the whole group down. We had to hike up and
down hilly forested terrain in an area which is called The Nest in Serdang.
However, I came to the realization that being part of a group requires give and
take. During the journey, I was bitten by mosquitoes many times but Ms. Rachel,
a DOE volunteer who was part of my group was kind enough to offer me her
mosquito repellent. When we stopped at a shelter to have our lunch, we shared
the food which we had brought along among ourselves. Ms. Rachel's kind act
and the sharing of food made me feel that we were a group. I learned the virtue
of having patience and not to be self-centred. - Roy Lee
I am not used to working in a team and it became my greatest challenge during
the DOE practice journey from 23 to 24 July. I became separated from my group
several times because I liked to wander around to admire the natural landscape.
Therefore, some group members had to come and look for me. Surprisingly, they
were not angry with me because they cared about me and were worried about my
safety. To reciprocate, I helped to carry some of their things in my backpack to
lighten their burden. In the end my group managed to complete the practice
journey successfully without any untoward incidents. This taught me an important
lesson: being part of a group makes us stronger and we have a greater chance of
accomplishing our goals. - Andy Law

I've learned a lot during the DOE qualifying journey, which lasted 2 days and 1
night in Ulu Slim, Perak. Since it was a hiking trip, we had to travel by foot which
involved 8 hours of hiking. During this qualifying journey, I've learned things that
can be applied to our everyday life, such as the motto "be world ready" The
belief or ideal encapsulated in this motto is that no matter what we do during the
journey, we must be ready for whatever challenges and obstacles that we might
face. It also taught us to stick together as a team and help each other to
complete the 8-hour hike.
I also prepared for this qualifying journey physically and mentally. For physical
preparation I did leg exercises and ran 10km every week just to keep myself
ready for the 8-hour hike, and mentally, I learned how to have a "what's the worst
that can happened" mindset because untoward incidents can happen anytime
and anywhere. - Eric
In the practice journey I learned to work together in a team with the others during
the camp. During the practice time I learned plenty of things such as how to
cooperate with other team members to complete tasks and solve problems. I
also learned to stick together with the group and not to leave your group and stay
together. We also learned how to use the compass and the bearing to measure
the distance to acquire the directions to know where to go. We worked together
to reach the camp site while, helping and supporting each other. - David Zunaidi

SUNB
ALOR
2007From the year
, starting with only 3 children in the home, the number of children in our
home has grown to 31 in 2022. Fifteen years have passed and when I look back at the ups
and downs that we had experienced over the years, I don't know how I could have
weathered them, if it is not with God's help and strength. During the year 2021, when all our
staff and children were required to be quarantined for 15 days, it was the one of the most
challenging times I had ever gone through. I felt helpless, alone and without any idea as to
what to do. Yet, when I depended on God, by His strength not mine, I saw how God has
provided everything that our home needed during that time.
When I see the children grow up and succeed in their studies and careers, it is indeed a
gratifying experience for me. One of our children, Elrik who has been with Sunbeams
Malacca for many years, has been active and doing well in sports since 2017. He is involved
in sports such as badminton, running, football and javelin throwing. In 2020, he won the
men's javelin throw event as a gold medallist in Malacca. In 2022, he represented Malacca
in SUKMA and finished fifth in javelin. He will be finishing his studies next year and hopes
he will continue to work hard in his career in sports in the future.
I hope that there would many more good Samaritans who will keep helping and supporting
us so that these children will have a better future. From

Staff Stories
The children of Sunbeams Home each have their own unique and interesting
stories to tell. Just like the children, the staff of Yayasan Sunbeams Home
also have their own stories to tell. The staff of Sunbeams are dedicated to
their job and each one of them play a vital role in the lives of the children.
They are the role models and parental figures to the many children under their
care.
In this segment of the newsletter, let's delve into the stories from the staff
of Sunbeams Home starting with one of the drivers of the Home, Uncle Yap. He
can be often seen with a smile on his face and a warm personality that is
welcoming to all those around him. He regards all the staff and children of
Sunbeams as his family, stating that the home is filled with interesting and
genuine individuals.
The children are very dear to him and he hopes to see them be
successful. He recalled the destressing situation some of the
children were in when they first came into the Home, some were
malnourished and some had bruises all over. He is glad to be able to
play a part in their development, as he watched them grow into happy
and healthy children.
He and the children have developed a deep relationship and he
treasures the time he spends with the children. He hopes to continue
bringing joy and care to the children.

Magic Eye 3D Viewing Instructions Answer: Baseball
Hold the center of the printed image right up to your nose. It should be blurry. Focus as though you are looking
through the image into the distance. Very slowly move the image away from your face until the two squares above the
image turn into three squares. If you see four squares, move the image farther away from your face until you see
three squares. If you see one or two squares, start over!
When you clearly see three squares, hold the page still and the hidden image will magically appear. Once you
perceive the hidden image and depth, you can look around the entire 3D image. The longer you look, the clearer the
illusion becomes. The farther away you hold the page, the deeper it becomes. Good Luck!
