LONGEST MONSTER TRUCK

Brad and Jen Campbell (both USA) of Big Toyz Racing have
created the Sin City Hustler, a 32-ft-long (9.7-m) monster
truck. Measured in an aircraft hangar at Last Stop in
White Hills, Arizona, USA, on 10 Jul 2014, it stands 12 ft
(3.6 m) tall, weighs a hefty 15,000 lb (6,800 kg) – about
the same as a bull elephant – and can accommodate
12 passengers. It packs a powerful 750-hp engine, but
owing to its considerable weight the Sin City Hustler only
has a maximum speed of around 45 mph (72.4 km/h). The
titanic truck is currently operated by Russ Mann (USA).

First forensic autopsy 1302 DATELINE

Clip-on glacier crampons are essential
for a sure grip on rock and ice. At the
higher reaches of the mountain,
climbers wear both an inner and outer
boot. The high outer boot helps prevent
snow and ice from getting inside.

Longest shout

This chapter is all about records that you can try yourself at
home – proving that you don’t need to be an Olympic athlete or
Hollywood megastar to be a record-breaker. One have-a-go hero
is Germany’s Christian Kinner, holder of the record for the world’s
longest-lasting shout – the kind of feat that anyone can try.
With the help of radio station Sportradio Sport1.fm, soccer fan
Christian – a dedicated follower of Borussia Dortmund – let rip
with a shout that lasted for an impressive 43.56 sec in Munich,

LONGEST DISTANCE PULLED BY A HORSE
(FULL-BODY BURN)

On 27 Jun 2015, while performing a full-body burn, professional stuntman Josef Tödtling
(AUT) was pulled 500 m (1,640 ft) by a horse. Josef protected himself with several layers
of clothing and cooling gel, as well as metal shin and elbow pads. The latter were a vital
piece of equipment, as the specially trained stunt horse kept up a brisk canter for the
whole attempt, dragging Josef along on his front at about 35 km/h (21 mph). The fearless
daredevil was accompanied on his bumpy journey – in Teichalm-Fladnitz, Styria, Austria
– by a quad-bike rider, who replenished the flames with lamp oil as needed.

Having made the full 500-m, pre-measured distance, Josef promptly outstripped it
with another record: a 582-m (1,909-ft) haul, tied this time to the back of the quad bike –
the longest distance pulled by a vehicle (full-body burn)!

LEGO-OLOGY

The name LEGO® combines the Danish words “leg” and “godt”, meaning
“play well”. The company began producing “Automatic Binding Bricks”
back in 1949. And the design was built to last: you can open a
brand-new LEGO box today and join any of the standard bricks with
any LEGO brick made since 1958 (the picture to the right shows box
