Gerund Concept 1 Gerund คือ รูปกริยริาที่เติม -ing แล้วทำ หน้าที่เป็นคำ นาม Gerund สามารถ อยู่ได้ทั้งหน้า กลาง และหลังของประโยค ดังนั้นคำ นามทำ หน้าที่อะไรได้ Gerund ก็ทำ ได้เช่นกัน ดังนี้ 1. Gerund ทำ หน้าที่เป็นประธานของประโยค เช่น Walking is a good exercise. 2. Gerund ทำ หน้าที่เป็นกรรมของประโยค แบ่งออกเป็น 2 แบบ คือ 2.1 เป็นกรรมของกริยริา transitive verb(กริยริาต้องการกรรมมารองรับ) เช่น We enjoy reading. 2.2 เป็นกรรมของบุพบทตามหลักแล้วคำ ที่ตามหลังคำ บุพบทต้องเป็นคำ นาม แต่ถ้าจะตามด้วยคำ กริยริาต้องเป็น Gerund เช่น They are looking forward to going to Cyprus. 3. Infinitive Concept 3 ใช้ตามหลังกริยริาช่วย หรือรื Modal Verbs เช่น do, does, did, will, Infinitive คือ รูปกริยริาเดิม มี 2 ชนิด คือ รูปที่มี to นำ หน้า และไม่มี to นำ หน้า เช่น to go, to walk (to + inf.) และ go, walk (inf.) Infinitive with to 4 Infinitive with to คือคำ กริยริาช่อง 1 ที่มี to นำ หน้า How to use infinitive with to 1. มักใช้ตามหลังคำ กริยริาเหล่านี้ ในโครงสร้าง Subject + Verb + Infinitive with to เช่นคำ ว่าว่afford, arrange, begin, decide, learn ตัวอย่างประโยค Small children learn to swim quickly. 2. ใช้กับกริยริาบางตัวตามด้วยกรรมตรงในโครงสร้าง Subject + Verb + Object + Infinitive with to เช่นคำ ว่า allow, ask, cause, challenge, force ตัวอย่างประโยค His mother allowed him to go campiang. 3. ใช้ตามหลังคำ ว่าว่ought, get used และ used เช่น You ought to do this project by yourself. 4. เมื่อทำ เป็นรูปปฏิเสธ เติม not ข้างหน้า to เช่น We decided not to go out tonight.
