Prayer Topic #3:A Declaration of Holiness for Our Youth Scripture Reading:Psalm 25:8-10, Romans 1:18-32Scriptural Prayer:Blessed Father, we thank You for our youth. Thank You for having a plan for their lives that is good and not evil, so that they will each have a future and a hope. Thank You for filling each of them with Your precious Holy Spirit to instruct, correct and teach them how to live uprightly before You. Lord, we promise to obey Your words! With all of our hearts, we want Your blessings. Be merciful as You promised. Lord, we are friends with anyone who fears You, anyone who obeys Your commandments. Your unfailing love, O Lord, fills the earth; teach us Your decrees. Sovereign King, we confess that our youth will truly understand that their bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit. They will give their bodies to You and will be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind You will find acceptable, for this is truly the way to worship You. They will not copy the illicit behavior and customs of this world, but they will let You, Father, transform them into new people by changing the way they think. Our youth will learn and grow in Your Word. They will know Your will for them, which is good and pleasing and perfect. We decree that they will know You and all of Your fullness. They will worship You and be thankful.. They will not trade the truth about You for a lie. Our youth will not have sex until they marry. We cancel every generational curse of perversion. We decree that our youth will not partake in pornography, fornication, homosexuality, bestiality, or any other sexual perversion. We confess that they will unashamedly run from sexual sin. Holy Spirit, our Deliverer, some of our youth are ensnared by the sexual perversions of this world. Please remove the scales from their eyes and circumcise their hearts so that they can see themselves reflected in God’s Word. Remind them that they are a chosen people, royal priests, a holy nation, Your very own possession. Help our youth to make Godly choices. Convict them when they watch, read, listen to and visit internet sites that are ungodly. Surround them with strong Christian friends who will support them and hold them accountable when they are wrong. Lead them to people who love Christ more than culture. Empower our youth to resist peer pressure. Holy Spirit, help our parents to be actively involved in their children’s lives. Help them to create holy, positive home environments for their children and youth. Merciful Father, forgive our youth for any sexual sin they have participated in. Forgive those who do not value their bodies. Forgive those parents and guardians who have not created holy environments in their homes and lived as models of righteousness and integrity. Forgive us, as the Body of Christ, for turning a blind eye to what our children and youth are doing. Forgive us for not openly discussing sexual purity with our youth. Lord, forgive me Holy Spirit, help our youth to not yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one. We will praise You as long as we live, lifting up our hands to You in prayer. We will praise Your Name with singing, and we will honor You with thanksgiving. Most Holy Father, we confess that it is Your will that we have good friends. Your Word declares that two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one falls, the other can reach out and help; but someone who falls alone is in real trouble. We declare that we will have friends who follow the steps of good men and women and stay on the path of the righteous because we know that only the Godly will live in the land, but the wicked will be removed. We expect that our friends will help us to respect our parents and teachers and avoid bad language and behavior. Loving Father, some children have a hard time making friends. Holy Spirit, please help them to walk in the love of Christ and draw Godly friends to themselves. Show me what I need to do to be a better friend. Please show me if there is someone who needs a friend that You want to become my friend. During this school year, please show me which children that I should spend time with and those that are not good for me and I should stay away from. Prayer Topic #13: A Declaration of Love Scripture Reading:Psalm 113, Matthew 22:35-40, John 15:9-12Scriptural Prayer:Almighty Father, we thank You that, as we have received a Kingdom which is unshakable, we will be thankful and please You by worshipping You with holy fear and awe. We thank You, Father, that You have not given us the spirit of fear or timidity, but love and power and self-discipline. Thank You that You have given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with Your love, so that we may share love with others. Father, we praise You. You are Spirit and You are Love. You are Creator. King, You are a devouring fire. We are blessed to know that Your love is more important than ritual. Wonderful Father, Your living Word discerns the thoughts and intents of the hearts of men and women. Spoken out of the heart of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the proclamation of Your eternal and greatest commandment. As Your dear children, we commit to love You with all our hearts, and with all our souls, and with all our minds. This is the greatest and most important commandment of all. In the same Spirit, we also commit to love our neighbors as ourselves. We declare that the Holy Spirit fills and controls us, as we commit to do God’s will. We commit to living a righteous life. We will treat people with kindness. We will be patient and we will not return evil with evil. We will let our light shine so that people will see our good works and glorify our Father. We put our all on Your altar, O God, for You have given us the Holy Spirit who has filled our hearts with love. Holy Spirit, equip us to share Your love through patience and kindness to others. Remind all believers that love is not jealous, boastful, proud or rude; it is not irritable and keeps no record of wrongs. Help us demonstrate God’s love, as given to the world through Jesus Christ, by never losing faith. Quicken in us the remembrance that prophecy and speaking in unknown tongues will become useless without love, but love will last forever. Holy Father, we ask Your forgiveness for our sins, in the Name of Jesus. Forgive us for at times being irreverent and apathetic towards You. Forgive us for murmuring and complaining and not showing our love and appreciation for all that You do for us. Forgive us for at times being impatient with our neighbor. Father, we walk by faith and not by sight. As we stand in faith as taught by the Lord Jesus Christ, we seek forgiveness from any and all persons against whom we have intentionally or unknowingly sinned. Lord, forgive me for any sin that comes to mind. Lord, remind all children of those they need to forgive; and help all of us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.Eternal Lord, You are God alone. You created the heavens and the earth; You put everything in its place. You made the world to be lived in, not a place of empty chaos. You are the Lord and there is no other. You only speak what is true and declare only what is right. Prayer Topic #15: A Prayer for People Looking for Employment Scripture Reading:Psalm 47, Ezekiel 34:25-31 Scriptural Prayer: Most Excellent Father, thank You for allowing Your children to dwell in the secret place under Your shadow. Thank You for being our refuge and fortress. You are a Mighty God! Thank You for meeting the needs of those who are currently unemployed. Thank You, Lord, for assuring us, as Your children, that our promotion does not come from any earthly source, but it is You alone who judges who will rise and who will fall. We rest and trust in You because this whole earth and those who dwell in it belong to You. With all that we are, we will praise You. We will never forget the good things that You do for us. Glory to Your holy name! Glorious Father, in Jesus’ name, we command the doors of favor and opportunity for employment to open for our unemployed brothers and sisters! As a Church Family, we confess that as they seek Your Kingdom above all else and live righteously, You will give them everything they need. We decree that they will not be idle or lazy, wanting much, but doing little. No! They will be diligent, work hard, and prosper. We declare that our unemployed will not be worried about anything. Instead, they will pray about everything and trust You to meet their needs. Holy Spirit, help our unemployed friends and family members to prepare themselves and enhance their skills so that they will be ready when opportunities present themselves. Help them wait patiently on the Lord and trust Him to guide them to the job He has for them. Enlighten the eyes of their understanding to know their strengths and to find creative ways to highlight their resumes and job applications. Touch the hearts of those who are resistant to change and encourage them to look for new career opportunities. Remove fear and anxiety from their lives. Continue to supernaturally meet their day-to-day needs as they continue to pursue employment opportunities. When they receive their new jobs, remind them to tithe and to honor You with their wealth and with the best part of everything they produce to show their gratitude to God, our Father. Merciful Father, please forgive those who have not honored You in the workplace during their past employment. Forgive those who believe the world’s report more than Your report about their future. Forgive those who have not honored You with tithes and offerings consistently. Father God, forgive me for any sin that comes to mind. Lord, remind all children of those they need to forgive; and help all of us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help those who are seeking employment not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one. Omnipotent Lord, salvation and glory and power belong to You! You are the Lord Almighty who reigns. Summon Your might, O God and display Your power as You have in the past. As Your name deserves, O God, You will be praised to the ends of the earth. Your strong right hand is filled with victory! In Jesus’ name, amen. Two Sons and Two ChoicesLuke 15:11-32 tells the parable (story) of a father with two sons. The youngest son decided that he no longer wanted to live in his father’s house so he requested his inheritance. His father granted his request and the youngest son moved away on his own to enjoy life! Unfortunately, the younger son traveled to a far country and wasted all of his money. When a famine spread across the far country, the younger son had no money and he began to work feeding pigs. Unfortunately, he became so hungry that he wanted the food that he fed to the pigs. Suddenly, he decided to return home to his father. His father was so glad to see him that he threw a big party for the younger son. While the younger son went away to a far country, the older son chose to stay home with his father. When the older son heard that his father was having a party for the return of his younger brother, he became angry. The father reassured the older son that he would be rewarded for his faithfulness. The father wanted the older son to celebrate the return of his brother. This parable (story) teaches us that God loves all of His children. Some of God’s children make poor choices and suffer painful consequences. Some of God’s children are faithful to God and they will be rewarded. No matter what, God wants His children to know that He loves them and they are always welcome to be with Him. 24
