B90 GUIDE:

READING THROUGH THE BIBLE IN 90 DAYS

Over the next 90 days (October 7, 2018 - January 5, 2019), we will be continuing our journey toward
unity in Christ as a Church Family through reading the whole Bible, Genesis to Revelation.

In order to enhance your experience, you are strongly encouraged to continue in or gather a Covenant
Group of spiritually encouraging friends and/or family to journey with you through these days. Find
times to meet together (at least) weekly in person, online, or on a conference call to share how the
Lord is working in your lives throughout this time of intentional prayer and reflection. (Please register
your group here: http://tiny.cc/CovenantGroupForm and follow the guidelines found on page
5).

The equipment you will need for the B90 journey are:

● A print or digital copy of one of the recommended Bible versions.

● A pen or pencil.

● ~1 hour of time per day. (approx. 12 pages per day. You can divide your reading up throughout
the day, i.e. 15 min, 4x a day gets it done.)

● A Covenant Group of 3 or more Jesus Followers to meet with weekly. Free B90 Leader’s guide
(.pdf) available to registered group leaders.

● (Optional) A B90 Participant Guide, available here for $9 each: http://tiny.cc/B90Student

● An open heart and mind to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Bible Reading Tips:

 Reading the Bible in 90 days is an incredibly rewarding experience, and definitely a challenge.

So here are a few tips to help you make it to the last page:

3

 Remember this is primarily a Bible reading, not a Bible study project. Don’t get bogged down:
just keep reading!

 Make reading your daily priority.

 Remove distractions: get in a quiet place; silence your phone, computer, and TV.
 Pray before you read.

 Don’t judge your response to what you are reading: just keep reading!

 Write down questions as you read; investigate them later with your Covenant Group.
 Be a part of a Covenant Group.

 Take your Bible with you everywhere.

 If you get behind, don’t give up and don’t quit! Use the weekend to catch up.

Covenant Groups

Ecclesiastes 4:12 states, “Though one may be empowered by another, two can withstand him. And a
threefold cord is not easily broken.”

It is highly recommended that throughout the B90, “Reading through the Bible in 90 Days” that you
continue in or gather a group of spiritually encouraging family/friends of three (3) or more persons.
This group should gather at least once a week between October 7, 2018 - January 5, 2019 to
encourage and reflect together on the weekly Bible readings. You may choose to focus on one day’s
reading out of the week during your time together, or you may choose to reflect in general on God’s
work in your lives from the entire week’s readings.

IMPORTANT: Please register your Covenant Group with Pastor Kim and Incite! so that we can send
you your free Leader’s Guide.

LINK TO REGISTRATION:
http://tiny.cc/CovenantGroupForm

Remember, your most important Covenant Partners are God our Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy
Spirit. As One, trust Him/Them to help and strengthen you and your Covenant Partner(s) during the
90 days of Bible reading.

Guidelines for Covenant Groups

General Guidelines for choosing Covenant Groups are as follows:

 If you are already participating in a regular study or prayer group, please continue to rely on
them to be your Covenant Partners throughout the 90 Days of Bible Reading.

If you are NOT already in a group, then we offer the following recommended guidelines in order to
maintain Christian integrity in the Body of Christ:

 Families are encouraged to meet together at a regular time each week.
 Married couples should generally gather with other married couples;
 Single women should generally gather with other single women; and
 Single men should generally gather with other single men.

How To Use Your Kingdom Builders’ Power Guide

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears
us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have
asked of Him. I John 5:14-15

The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based on
the model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13).

In order to maximize the use of your guide, please follow the listed instructions.

1. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s).
Gradually build your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes each
day. You can split up your prayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the morning
and evening. You choose the time of day that is good for you. Find a comfortable place to
pray and turn off any distractions. If you have small children who need most of your attention,
pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s Word saturate their hearing.

2. Refer to the Prayer Topics Calendar for the specific prayer for the day. Only pray for the
prayer topic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying. Please
do not get ahead of the prayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,” first read
the Scriptures listed for “Scripture Reading.”

3. Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents, please
encourage your children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out loud.
Youth (ages 13-17) may use the Adult Power Guide.

4. These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful
conversations. Trust the Holy Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are
praying for the day. If you speak in tongues, please pray in tongues over each prayer topic.
Relax, listen and enjoy the Lord.

5. Record any reflections, revelations, or inspiration given by the Holy Spirit in the Prayer
Expectation section at the end of the Power Guide.

6. Believe that the Lord is hearing your prayer and know in your heart that your praying will
produce God’s results for the prayer topic for which you are praying.

7. After praying, make your daily power confession by using the Daily Power Confessions
located in the back of your Power Guide. When you speak God’s Word over your life, you
activate the power of His Word to work in your life and produce God’s results for your life.
Expect God’s Word to transform your life. I also recommend that you speak the Power
Confessions over your family.

8. All members are asked to attend Victory Wednesday on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. at The KBC.
Please refer to the Prayer Topic Calendar for your assigned Wednesday to attend Victory
Wednesday. Assignments are listed based on the first letter of your last name.

9. Enjoy your time spent with the Lord and thank you for helping to implement God’s plans for
our Church Family.

God Bless You!
Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell

Prayer Topic #1:
A Prayer of Recovery for the Florida Panhandle

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 31:21-24, Nehemiah 3:11-20

Reflections of the Heart:
During hard times, God promises to help His people! As they call upon Him and acknowledge Him as their
God, He promises to rescue them and give them long life. Today, let us pray for the citizens of the Florida
Panhandle as they recover from Hurricane Michael!.

Scriptural Prayer:

Triumphant Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers concerning the aftermath of the recent weather
disasters in the Florida Panhandle. Thank You for strengthening those impacted and for helping them to recover.
Holy Spirit, thank You for pouring out Your spirit of love, compassion, benevolence and generosity. Thank You
for supplying for all of those impacted according to Your glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ
Jesus. Lord, You are great and Your power is absolute! Your understanding is beyond comprehension. Lord,
Most High, You are awesome. You are the King of all the earth.

Gracious Father, we will rebuild the ruins and restore the places that were devastated by Hurricane Michael in
the Florida Panhandle. We declare renewal in the ruined areas! We call forth the blessings of God to rest upon
each community! Lord, we command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream
within every governmental agency and insurance company that is responsible for helping the residents to
recover. We command the necessary funds for rebuilding to come forth! We declare that the hope and
confidence of each citizen is not in FEMA or the insurance industry, but their hope and trust is in You, the Lord
of Heaven’s Armies! We pray for all first responders, such as our U.S. Military and State National Guard, police
officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel who joined in all rescue and recovery efforts. We pray
for leaders in business and commerce, energy, healthcare, education and the religious communities. We
declare God’s blessings, protection and provision over the citizens as we continue to rebuild!

Holy Spirit, help the residents of the Florida Panhandle to continue to heal, especially the families of those who
died. Calm the fears of every citizen, especially children and the elderly. Comfort those who experienced total
loss of their homes and vehicles. Let Your love and presence saturate their hearts, souls and spirits. Continue
to send people who will love, support, and comfort them during their time of recovery. God, our Healer, please
provide healing and speedy recovery to every citizen. Heal their physical, emotional, and psychological wounds
and restore them as they rebuild their lives. Convict the heart of any business, agency or individual who would
attempt to take advantage of people for profit or gain. Holy Spirit, lead and guide governmental officials as they
plan the revitalization of each city, state and country affected.

Righteous Father, forgive each resident for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive them for disobedience, racism,
rebellion, unbelief, forms of idolatry, immorality, murder, injustice, and perversion. Forgive those for greed,
corruption and for putting the pursuit of material possessions above the needs of their neighbors. Lord, forgive
me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind each resident of those they need to forgive
and help them to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a
moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He
reveals them say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul
caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help all citizens in the Florida Panhandle not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil
one.

Lord, You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power. You created all things, and they exist because You
created what You pleased. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #2:
A Declaration of Wisdom for Voters

Scripture Reading:
Daniel 2:20-23, Proverbs 2

Note: Please pray in your prayer language (pray in tongues) for today’s prayer topic. If you do not pray in
tongues, then pray the following prayer out loud.

Scriptural Prayer:

One True Living God, we thank You for the right to vote as citizens of the United States of America. Thank You
for Your grace, favor and mercy that You have shown to our nation over the years. Thank You for allowing us,
as voters, the opportunity to vote for the men and women who will represent us. The earth is Yours Lord, and
everything in it. The world and all its people belong to You. Father, You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas
and built it on the ocean depths. Your eternal Word stands firm in heaven. Your faithfulness extends to every
generation, as enduring as the earth You created.

Magnificent Father, as the people of God, we come before You now, crying out for wisdom and discernment for
all voters. As the people of God, we declare that we will not be moved or motivated by race, nationality, gender,
political alliance, or the media concerning this election. But, as voters, we will seek Your will and trust that You
will show us which path to take. We decree that wisdom will save us from evil people and from those whose
words are twisted. We command Your Word, which we speak with boldness and faith, to interrupt the airwaves
and destroy every word that is spoken by the media that does not align with Your will for the election. We decree
that every attempt to misconstrue the Truth will be confused, in Jesus’ Name. We declare that the democratic
process will be implemented fairly and justly during the election. We cancel every assignment of the enemy to
cause division or separation among our citizens during the election. We command the weather to be a perfect
balance of sunshine and moderate temperatures on the day of the election.

Holy Spirit, please show me the candidates and propositions I am to vote for:
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Gracious Father, only You know the true heart of man. Just as You clearly identified Saul and later David as
kings of Israel, please clearly identify who You want to fill the positions on the ballots. Encourage us, as voters,
to fully educate ourselves on each candidate and the propositions that are on the ballot. Please reveal any
potential polling hindrances that would prevent voters from being able to cast their vote. Touch the hearts of all
registered voters to go to the polls to vote.

Merciful Father, forgive us, as voters, for not always seeking Your will before casting our votes. Forgive each
candidate for any acts of unrighteousness including favoritism, racism, sexism, lying, deceit and manipulation.
Forgive the media for partiality and bias. Forgive those in positions of power who may attempt to skew voting
results through voter intimidation, unnecessary redistricting, lies or confusion. Lord, forgive me for (list any
sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us, as voters, of those we need to forgive and help us to
be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment
and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals
them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused
by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, as voters, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Triumphant Lord, You are King! You are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and
cannot be shaken. Your throne has stood from time immemorial. You are from the everlasting past. In Jesus’

Prayer Topic #3:
A Declaration of Favor for The Prayer Institute

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 100, II Chronicles 7:12-16

Reflections of the Heart:
“I would rather teach one man to pray than ten men to preach.” ~ Charles Spurgeon

Scriptural Prayer:

Great Father, we thank You for giving Pastors Kirbyjon and Suzette Caldwell the vision for The Prayer Institute.
Thank You for the awesome platform it has given to prayer, as it is such a vital discipline for every believer.
Thank You for the wonderful board members, staff and diligent volunteers You have assembled together to
maintain the operations of The Prayer Institute. O Lord, when we think of Your goodness and boundless
kindness toward The Prayer Institute, we cannot help but to erupt in high praise! Your awe-inspiring deeds will
be on every tongue as we proclaim Your greatness. Everyone will share the story of Your wonderful goodness
and sing with joy about Your righteousness. We worship You, Father. We take joy in being in Your presence.

Strong and Mighty Father, we decree that You are the source of hope for The Prayer Institute. Favor surrounds
The Prayer Institute like a shield. We declare abundant blessings and favor upon the staff. We also declare
Your abundant blessings and favor upon the Board of The Prayer Institute. We command doors of
unprecedented opportunities to open for The Prayer Institute. We decree that as they serve Your people, Lord,
their good deeds will shine out for all to see, causing people everywhere to give You praise. In faith, we expect
You to expand the influence and reach of The Prayer Institute. We believe that the Holy Spirit will ignite more
and more people to desire a richer and more powerful prayer life, as The Prayer Institute goes forth in ministry.
We decree that every need will be met according to Your riches in glory.

Holy Spirit, I will pray the following for The Prayer Institute:
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we ask that You draw The Prayer Institute’s Board members, staff and volunteers closer together in
the spiritual unity that is only found in Jesus Christ. Let the same mind be in them that was also in Him. Help
them to spot problems and issues quickly and to be spiritually wise and discerning as they seek to solve them.
Remind them to take good care of themselves and to not neglect their own spiritual, emotional, and physical
care. Keep them balanced in their public and private lives so they are efficient and effective in all that they do.
Draw the right people to invest their time, talent, and finances. Protect The Prayer Institute from any plans the
enemy may have to hinder the good works that they do. We ask that You flood them with faithful benefactors
who will give to the services they provide to the Body of Christ and to the community.

Redeeming Father, please forgive the Board members, staff and volunteers of any sins they have committed.
Forgive those who have been neglecting themselves and their families and not taking time to rest. Lord, forgive
me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind The Prayer Institute’s staff and board
members of all those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to
my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces
of people that You may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now,
trust the Lord to heal any wounds in Your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help the Board members, staff and volunteers of The Prayer Institute not to yield to temptation but
deliver them from the evil one.

Prayer Topic #4:
A Prayer for the West Orem Family YMCA

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 103:1-5, Ecclesiastes 3:9-15

Reflections of the Heart:
The West Orem Family YMCA is a blessing to our church and to our community. Let’s remember to stop by and
take advantage of the life-enhancing programs they offer and keep them encouraged and lifted in prayer for the
great work that they do.

Scriptural Prayer:

Beloved Father, You have done great things through our Windsor Village Church Family; one of which is the
establishment of the West Orem Family YMCA. Thank You for the Board of Directors and staff of the West
Orem Family YMCA and for the diligent work they do to bring health and wellness to their members. Thank You,
Lord, for the opportunity that the West Orem Family YMCA brings to a community that has been traditionally
underserved and underdeveloped. We adore You, Father! Let the whole world bless You and loudly sing Your
praises. Our lives are in Your hands and You keep our feet from stumbling. As we continue to watch the
unfolding of Your magnificent vision for the southwest Houston community, we are amazed and will forever give
You glory and honor.

Everlasting Father, we decree that Your presence will rest in and throughout the West Orem Family YMCA
campus, so much so that everyone who sets foot on the grounds will experience the power of Your glory. We
believe that the staff can do everything through Christ who gives them strength. They are fully competent and
capable in fitness, wellness, awareness, business, and social interaction. They take joy in their work and that
they will be patient, kind, and compassionate to every patron who enters the doors of the West Orem Family
YMCA. They work in harmony with one another by honoring and respecting one another in their various roles
and responsibilities. We declare that the patrons who attend the West Orem Family YMCA will be respectful
and kind to one another and the staff. We decree that enrollment at the West Orem Family YMCA will increase
this year and that their reputation as a committed community partner will expand.

If you have not visited the West Orem Family YMCA, go by and take advantage of one of the many
programs they offer, and take time to encourage the staff:
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help the West Orem Family YMCA staff to meet the needs of their patrons in even more effective
and creative ways. Bless the families that benefit from the afterschool and summer programs. Increase
awareness in the community of the benefits of membership in the West Orem Family YMCA. Please keep the
staff and patrons safe, and let Your angels stand guard against crime on the property. As Your vision for the
community expands, keep the West Orem Family YMCA expanding with it. Continue to provide for the West
Orem Family YMCA so that their facility has the best equipment, classes, instructors, and programs to offer its
patrons.

Righteous Father, please forgive the West Orem Family YMCA staff and patrons of their sins. Forgive those on
the West Orem Family YMCA staff who may not believe in the biblical beliefs of the YMCA organization. Forgive
any patrons who have disrespected any West Orem Family YMCA staff member in any way. Lord, forgive me
for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the West Orem Family YMCA staff and patrons
of all those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my
remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of
people that You may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust
the Lord to heal any wounds in Your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

16

Holy Spirit, help the West Orem Family YMCA staff and patrons not to yield to temptation but deliver them from
the evil one.

Almighty Lord, You are King! Let the nations tremble. You sit on Your throne between the cherubim. Let the
whole earth quake. Lord, You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all the nations. Let them praise Your
great and awesome Name. Your Name is holy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #5:
A Prayer for the Ministries of Our Windsor Village Church Family

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 95:1-7, I Corinthians 12:12-31

Reflections of the Heart:
We have been called not to serve ourselves, but to serve others. We are to let the love of Christ shine through
us as we serve. So as we serve together in ministry, let us walk in the fruit of the Spirit, always remembering
that there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism and one God, who is Father of all.

Scriptural Prayer:

Blessed Father, we thank You for the ministries of our Windsor Village Church Family. Thank You for using the
ministries of Windsor Village to bless and improve the lives of our Church Family as well as the community.
Lord, we praise Your great and awesome Name! Your Name is holy. Mighty King, You love justice and have
established fairness. You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel. We exalt You, our God.
We bow low before Your feet, for You alone are holy!

Awesome Father, we know that there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of
ministries, but the same Lord. There are diversities of activities, but it is You, God, who works all in all. We
confess that the ministries of Windsor Village operate as one. Having gifts differing according to the grace that
has been given to them, we confess that our ministries will use these gifts to serve You and are kindly
affectionate to one another in brotherly love. They will be of the same mind towards one another. Lord, we
declare that the members who serve in ministry will not grow weary while doing well. They will indeed reap a
reward as they do not faint. We confess that they will commit their ministry plans to You, Lord, and trust that
You will cause them to succeed. We declare that each ministry at Windsor Village reflects the love, hope,
peace, faith and discipline of the Kingdom.

Holy Spirit, I will pray for the following Windsor Village ministries:
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please continue to unify the ministries at Windsor Village so that they operate efficiently and
productively. Please anoint the ministry leaders with fresh ideas and creative ways to do ministry. Show them
how to expand beyond the Windsor Village Church Family to impact more lives in the community for the
Kingdom. Please bless the families, homes and jobs of each ministry worker. Teach them how to live balanced
and healthy lives. Holy Spirit, please touch the hearts of more Church Family members to become actively
involved in a ministry.

Magnificent Father, please forgive those ministry members for disobedience, selfish-ambitions, pride, gossip,
perversion and any act of sinfulness. Forgive them for depending on their own strength and intellect, instead
of Your supernatural power and authority. Forgive those ministry leaders who do not consult You regarding the
direction You have for their ministry. Lord, forgive those members who are not using their gifts and talents in
ministry. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we
need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need
to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need
to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person (s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any
wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our ministry members not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Eternal King, the heavens declare Your glory and the skies proclaim the work of Your hands. You are the

Prayer Topic #6:
A Prayer for Election Day

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 86:5-13, Romans 13:1-7

Note: Please pray in your prayer language (pray in tongues) for today’s prayer topic. If you do not pray in
tongues, then pray the following prayer out loud.

Scriptural Prayer:

Blessed Father, we thank You for our city, state and nation. Thank You for the privilege of our democratic form
of government. Thank You for leading and guiding us as we elect our local leaders. Lord, Your instructions are
perfect, reviving our souls. Your decrees are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Your commandments are
right, bringing joy to our hearts. Your commands are clear and they give us insight for living. We praise You for
Your great wisdom. You deserve all glory, honor, and praise forever!

Everlasting Father, Your Word says that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a
wicked man rules, the people groan. Therefore, as we vote in the election on today, we are trusting You to lead
us in making these critical decisions. As we consider our voting options, we will not depend on our own
understanding. We are seeking Your will, our Lord, and we believe that You will show us which path to take.
Today, we will not be distracted by rhetoric, popular opinion, or sound bites. Using the authority given to us,
we call forth Your Kingdom to come and Your divine will be done in the elections today. We confess that the
hearts of Houston voters will be guided by the power of the Holy Spirit, as they vote today. We command peace,
be still at every voting poll in our city. We decree that today’s elections will be conducted in fairness and integrity.
In Jesus’ Name, we crush the demonic devices that would stir up strife, confusion, cynicism, and hopelessness
among voters. We command the airwaves to bow to the voice of God. We decree that every attempt to
misconstrue the Truth will be confused, in Jesus’ Name.

Holy Spirit, today I will vote for the following candidates and I will vote for or against the following
Propositions. Holy Spirit, please let me know if my will aligns with Yours:

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, all of us have a preference, however, we ask You to establish Your plans in our city, state and
nation. Expose all lies and deceptive tactics. Position Your angels to watch and guard each polling place. Help
all of us to take our responsibility to vote seriously. Remind us all to conduct ourselves with grace and dignity
at the polls so that we do not wrongly influence anyone or chide anyone based on perception. May we be
models of excellent citizenship at all times. For those citizens who are conflicted in their hearts about whether
or not they should vote at all, clarify for them the purpose of their vote and lead them to the polls to vote.

Wonderful Father, forgive us for not trusting You to lead our city. Forgive those leaders who have plotted to
derail the democratic process for personal gain. Forgive those who continually abuse their power and influence.
Forgive those citizens who refuse to exercise their right to vote. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you
have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for
me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name
of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Glorious Lord, the earth is Yours and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to You. Open up,
ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of Glory enter. Who is the King of glory? The Lord of
Heaven’s Armies – He is the King of glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #7:
A Prayer of Protection for Our Children and Youth

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 121, Numbers 6:22-27

Reflections of the Heart:
Our children and youth are living in a very volatile generation. Crimes against children have increased
dramatically over the past decade, and it is imperative that we use our authority in Jesus Christ to stand up for
the safety of all children. Let us become more aware, more alert, and more involved so that they can be assured
a safe and happy future.

Scriptural Prayer:

Righteous Father, we are so grateful that You are all-seeing and all-knowing. You have Your eye on each and
every person on this earth, including our children and youth. Thank You for faithfully watching over them every
day. We thank You for keeping Your angels stationed around them day and night. Thank You, Lord, for guarding
their lives in the face of seen and unseen dangers. Father, we give You glory. You are in Your holy Temple, yet
You still rule from heaven. You watch everyone closely, examining every person on earth. We lift our hands
and worship You, for You Yourself watch over our children and youth. You stand beside them as their protective
shade. All praises to You, our Father and our God!

Awesome Father, when our children and youth are at home, You are there. When they are in school, You are
there. Wherever they go, You are there. We believe in the power of Your Word, so we commit ourselves to
declaring blessings over our children and youth every day. In the Name of Jesus, we rebuke every foul plot of
the enemy to harass, bully, injure, harm, or kidnap our children and youth. The blood of Jesus covers them and
guards their steps. We declare that our children and youth live in the shelter of the Most High, and they find rest
in the shadow of the Almighty. You alone are their refuge and their place of safety. You are their God, and they
trust You. Lord, we expect You to rescue them from every trap (drugs, alcohol, crime, and abuse), and protect
them from deadly disease. You promised that You will cover them with Your feathers. You will shelter them with
Your wings. These promises are their armor and their protection.

List the names of any children and youth who are or may be in danger and pray for them. Ask the Holy
Spirit to show you how you can be of help:
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, teach us all how valuable our children and youth are to the Father. Help parents to act responsibly
when it comes to the welfare of their children. Keep them from being distracted by work, bills, relationships, and
other issues. Help them to be open to correction and instruction if they are lacking in good, balanced parenting
skills. Lord, help us all to be shrewd as snakes and harmless as doves in the handling of our children and youth.
Give us the courage to take action when we see warning signs of impending danger around them. Help us to
come together in our communities to cover those children who are runaways and castaways. Encourage these
children to come to know the love of the Father and to trust in Him to get them to safety and to people who will
care for them.

Blessed Father, forgive us for our sins, especially those we have committed against our children and youth.
Forgive those who discourage and demean our children and youth. Forgive those who refuse to do their part
to protect our children and youth. Forgive those parents and guardians who refuse to seek help for their children
when they are spiraling out of control. Forgive those in the Church who judge and ostracize our children and
youth instead of seeking to understand them and showing them love. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that
You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.
As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy
Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that You may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I

forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in Your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Magnificent Father, no one is holy like You! There is no one besides You. There is no rock like our God. You
are the Lord, the Mighty One, who has spoken and summoned all humanity from where the sun rises to where
it sets. From Mount Zion, the perfection of beauty, You shine in glorious radiance. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #8:
A Prayer for Our College Students

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 135:1-13, Daniel 1:1-17

Reflections of the Heart:
The benefits that a college education affords are priceless. It is a blessing for students to be able to attend
college and afford a good education; so we praise God for all who pay the tuition of a college student.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for our college students. Thank You for providing the ability for them to learn
and process information. Thank You for helping them with their studies and blessing them in the classroom.
Thank You for blessing them with scholarships, financial aid and employment. We thank You for state and
federal funds to be made available for the college education. Lord, we are grateful and we bless Your wonderful
Name. Today, we come clapping our hands and shouting to You with joyful praise. You are the Lord, Most
High, and You are awesome! You are the great King of all the earth.

Eternal Father, we confess Your Word over our college students as they pursue their education and over the
persons who pay their tuition. We are expecting You to work effectually in them, creating within them the power
and desire to study and complete their course work. We confess that favor will surround our students and they
will have good relationships with their teachers and fellow students. They will put to death the sinful, earthly
things lurking within them and will not defile themselves with the ways of the world through fornication, excessive
drinking and illegal drug use, unclean behavior, ungodly passions, evil desire, covetousness, rebellion, and
idolatry. We declare that those who are paying for tuition will have more than enough. Their needs will be
supplied from Your glorious riches which have been given to them in Christ Jesus. Like Jesus, we decree that
our college students will increase in wisdom and stature and they have favor with You, their teachers, school
administrators, and fellow students.

List the people you know who are continuing their education. Begin to pray for their success
academically and financially:

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please increase the intellectual capacity of our college students as they pursue their fields of study.
Please open internship opportunities that will allow them to obtain hands-on experience in their respective
career choices. Please encourage those who are struggling financially and want to give up. Please continue to
open financial doors and reveal scholarships, grants, and other financial aid opportunities. Increase the self-
confidence of our students so that they will have the boldness to share their faith. Protect our students from
being captured with empty philosophies and high-sounding ideas that come from aberrant human thinking and
from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. Help our students in Christ to differentiate
between Your truth and the world’s facts. Holy Father, keep our students healthy and their bodies strong;
protected from diseases, viruses or any other germs from the dorm environments.

Wonderful Father, forgive those college students who have not been diligent in their studies. Forgive them for
not trusting You to provide all their needs. Forgive them for getting involved with people and activities that do
not add value to their education. Please forgive them for all acts of sinfulness including: lack of faith, idolatry,
sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, homosexuality, selfish ambitions, dissensions,
heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness and revelries. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind our college students of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick
to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask
the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them,
say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
24

Holy Spirit, help our college students not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord, Your Kingdom is an everlasting Kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. Lord, You are King! You
are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. Lord, Your throne
has stood from time immemorial. You are from the everlasting past. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #9:
A Prayer for Our Singles

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 146, Psalm 139

Reflections of the Heart:
Instead of trying to figure out what is wrong with being single, why not celebrate the freedom that God has
provided to allow singles to bring His will to fruition? Let us pray that the singles of our Church Family will rejoice
in knowing that they are not alone…that they have the perfect companion in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit;
and by virtue of being in a relationship with Him, they not only receive God’s love, but are able to share His love
without restriction.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the single members of our Church Family. Thank You, Lord, for being their
strength, refuge and fortress. We thank You for satisfying their mouths with good things so that their youth is
renewed like that of the eagle. You are our God, in whom we trust. Our souls bless You with all that is within
us. We bless Your Holy Name! We bless You, and remember all of Your benefits.

Compassionate Father, we confess that the singles in our Church Family love You with all their hearts, souls,
strength, and minds and they love their neighbors as they love themselves. They are filled with Your Holy Spirit,
and have the mind of Christ. We declare that our singles can do all things through Christ who strengthens them.
Our singles are planted by the rivers of water, and they will bring forth fruit in their season. Their leaves will not
wither and whatever they do will prosper. In addition to natural bread, we confess that they will continue to live
by every Word that proceeds out of Your mouth. As the just, they live by faith and are over-comers in Jesus’
Name.

Holy Spirit, today I commit to encouraging the following singles:
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, direct our singles in the areas of friendship, companionship, ministry, employment, career and
finances. In their relationships, bless them with people who are wise, kind, likeminded, patient, and trustworthy.
Send them friends and associates who will love and appreciate them. Touch the hearts of all of our singles to
work in a ministry in our Church Family. Remind them that their needs are met when they attend to the needs
of others. Help them to be skillful and diligent in their workplaces as they apply themselves to honest labor and
honorable employment. For those singles who desire a mate, help them to wait patiently on You. Holy Spirit,
comfort those who experience loneliness and equip us as a Church Family to provide the extended family and
support that they may desire. Heal broken hearts and wounded spirits. Bless our single parents and provide a
stable support system to help them with their children.

Loving Father, forgive our singles for their sins. Forgive them for not trusting You totally with their lives. Forgive
those who have depended on themselves instead of You. Forgive those singles who are anxious and fretful
about their singleness and help them to be satisfied with their lives. Forgive those who follow the desires of their
flesh instead of the desires of Your Holy Spirit. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).
Holy Spirit, remind our singles of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me,
Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name
of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our singles not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Prayer Topic #10:
A Declaration of Kingdom Financial Blessings

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 113, Malachi 3:6-12

Reflections of the Heart:
“As a king of the King, I will make choices so that my God-given domain positions me for blessings, delight,
provision and prohibition. I choose to get ready for my new life as a king!” ~ Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your eternal love and unmerited grace. We thank You for Your love for us
that never ceases and Your mercy which never comes to an end. Your mercies are new every morning; great
is Your faithfulness. Thank You, Father, for being our strength, our shield, our provider and our Savior. You are
great and You do wondrous things. You are God alone. Lord, You are in Your Holy temple; You are on Your
heavenly throne. To You, O God do we give thanks. Yes, to You do we give thanks. We extol You, our God,
O King; and we bless Your Name forever and ever.

Righteous Father, as Kingdom citizens, it is Your will that we excel in the area of our finances. We recognize
that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Therefore, we will earn, save, spend and invest money in
obedience to Your perfect plan for our lives and our families. We confess that as You bring financial blessings
into our lives, we will remember that it is You who gives us the power to get wealth so that the covenant which
You swore to our fathers will be established and we will be positioned as instruments to build Your Kingdom.
Father, we confess that all that we set our hands to do is blessed because You have commanded blessings on
our storehouses, including savings, investments and retirement accounts. Lord, we declare that as Your
blessings overtake us, we will be able to lend money to many and not have to borrow from anyone. We confess
that as we bring our tithes and offerings into Your house, we are expecting You to pour out blessings that we
will not have room to receive and You will rebuke the devourer for our sakes.

Holy Spirit, show me what I need to do so that I can be a better steward of the resources I have been
blessed with:
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we ask that You shift our focus from spending to saving and from consuming our income to building
wealth. Help our Church Family members to bind mercy and truth around our necks and write them on our
hearts; causing us to have favor in Your sight and in the sight of man. Lord, help us to study Your Word, to
meditate on it day and night and observe to do the things written within it so that we may make our way
prosperous and have good success. Holy Spirit, help us to build business and personal relationships with other
Christians. Help us to begin to love people and use money, rather than loving money and using people. We
pray for a breaking of old mindsets and generational curses of poverty and lack within the families of our
congregation.

Forgiving Father, forgive us for our sins. Forgive us for repeating patterns of financial failures such as living
beyond our means and misusing credit cards. Forgive those in our congregation and our communities for our
heavy dependence on payday loan outlets and pawn shops. Forgive us for failing to develop financial plans
that include debt reduction, savings and investments. Father, forgive us for walking by sight, rather than walking
in faith. Forgive many of us for entertaining thoughts that we are supposed to have the most of the worst and
the least of the best. Forgive those in our congregation who have refuse to make court-ordered child support
payments. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those
we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal
names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of
person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

28

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Yours, God, is the power and the glory. Yours, O Lord, is the victory and the majesty. All that is in heaven and
earth is Yours. Yours is the Kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #11:
A Prayer for Health Professionals

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 136, Mark 16:15-20

Reflections of the Heart:
“To array a man’s will against his sickness is the supreme art of medicine.”
~ Martin H. Fischer, German-American Physician and Author

Scriptural Prayer:

Divine Father, thank You for showing us the wonders of Your unfailing love. Thank You for hearing our cry for
mercy and answering our call for help. Thank You for all those in the Body of Christ who serve in the health
profession. We thank You for doctors, nurses, researchers, scientists, hospital administrators, therapists,
pharmacists, medical assistants, paramedics, and medical technicians with discernment, understanding,
knowledge, and courage. What a blessing they are to all of us! By Your wisdom, You have strategically equipped
and anointed men and women with expertise in medicine, science, nutrition, pharmacy, surgery, rehabilitation,
and counseling. Lord, You made the heavens Your throne; You rule over everything from there. Your angels
praise You, Lord. Your mighty ones who carry out Your plans, listen for each of Your commands. Lord,
everything that You created will praise You; everything in Your Kingdom! Let all that we are praise You!

All-Wise Father, we decree that just as the Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah, feared and obeyed You, our
healthcare professionals will not succumb to the pressure to compromise; but they remain committed to their
oath to “do no harm.” We believe that You are working wonders in the healthcare profession right now. We
confess that our healthcare professionals believe in the promises of Your Word, and as they ask You, You will
tell them remarkable secrets about things to come in their profession. They will be pioneers in discovering cures
and medical breakthroughs for our generation. We decree that the health professionals in our Church Family
will seek Your wisdom and knowledge and always pursue excellence in their chosen fields. They are dedicated
to the proper care and treatment of all their patients and they will remember to show their patients mercy, just
as You have shown mercy to them.

Now, ask the Holy Spirit to remind you of the names of those you know in the healthcare field and pray
for their specific needs:
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, remind our health professionals not to trust in human wisdom; but in the power of God. Please
comfort the hearts of those who have recently lost a patient who was under their care. Help them to heal from
the emotional wounds that come along with their jobs. Give them the boldness they need to stand up for their
patients’ rights and to contribute significantly to the pursuit of healthcare reform in our country. Remind our
healthcare professionals that they represent the Kingdom of God in the healthcare industry, so their demeanor
and behavior should reflect Kingdom principles. Please continue to bless the covenant partnerships that our
ministries have formed with the medical community, including Texas Children’s Hospital, Methodist Hospital,
M.D. Anderson and TIRR Memorial Hermann. May we continue to work together to bring the best healthcare
to more underserved communities.

Beloved Father, forgive those among our healthcare professionals who have been prideful and arrogant, taking
Your glory for themselves. Forgive those who have been more concerned with financial gain than being a
servant. Forgive those who have neglected to do their jobs in excellence and who have placed the lives of
others in jeopardy by cutting corners and taking shortcuts. Forgive those who have failed to show compassion
while working with the loved ones of their patients. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind our healthcare professionals of those they need to forgive and help them to be
quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and

30

ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them,
say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our healthcare professionals not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Lord of Glory, You alone are God. You are the First and the Last. It was Your hand that laid the foundations of
the earth. Your right hand spread out the heavens above. When You call out the stars, they all appear in order.
You alone can never die and You live in light so brilliant that no human can approach You. No human eye has
ever seen You, nor ever will. All honor and power is Yours forever, Lord! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #12:
A Thanksgiving Day Prayer

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 136:1-9, Ephesians 5:15-20

Reflections of the Heart:
How thankful are you? Have you expressed your thankfulness to the Lord by telling Him how grateful you are?
If not, tell Him today!

Scriptural Prayer:

Eternal Father, we thank You for giving us Your Name and making us Your children. Thank You for giving us a
future and a hope. Thank You for being our Shepherd and protecting us. Thank You for protecting our children
and blessing them to grow in Your wisdom and stature. Thank You for providing us with our daily bread. Lord,
we give thanks to You, for You are good. Your faithful love endures forever. We give thanks to You, the Lord
of lords. Your faithful love endures forever. To You, who alone does mighty miracles. You are the God who
made the heavens so skillfully. You laid out the earth above the waters. We thank You, Father, for forgiving
our sins, healing all of our diseases, redeeming us from death, crowning us with Your loving-kindness and
tender mercies, filling our lives with good things and renewing our youth like the eagles. We are blessed to have
You as our Father.

Glorious Father, as we observe Thanksgiving, we thank You for establishing Your will on earth as it is in heaven
through our lives. Father, it is Your will for us to give thanks to You always and in all things. We thank You for:
(List 7-10 things you are thankful for. Think about your family, career, church, friends, yourself, etc.)

Triumphant Father, we magnify Your Name. You are an excellent Father and we love You. Holy Spirit, please
help us to always walk in an attitude of thankfulness. Help us to daily look for things to praise and thank the
Father for. Help each parent to cultivate a spirit of thankfulness in their child. As a Church Family, help us to
always remain thankful and to not take any of the things that You are doing within and through our congregation
for granted.

Loving Father, forgive us for being ungrateful and unappreciative. Forgive us for acting spoiled and arrogant.
Forgive us for always wanting more and not counting our blessings. Forgive us for acts of rebellion and
disobedience. Father, thank You for not dealing with us according to our sins nor punishing us according to our
iniquities. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we
need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need
to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need
to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any
wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, as a Church Family, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to You, Lord, who sits on the throne and to the Lamb forever
and ever. You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by
Your will they exist and were created. Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In Jesus’
Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #13:
A Prayer for Unity and Prosperity in the Greater Houston Area

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 105:1-10, Psalm 133

Reflections of the Heart:
Let those who favor my righteous cause and have pleasure in my uprightness shout for joy and be glad and say
continually, let the Lord be magnified in our city. He has pleasure in the prosperity of His people! Psalm 35:27

Scriptural Prayer:

Omniscient Father, we thank You for the Greater Houston Area. Thank You for our city officials, first responders,
public works employees and everyone who helps with the day-to-day operation of this city. Thank You for the
citizens of this great city. You are great and greatly to be praised. You are to be feared above all gods. The
earth is Yours and everything in it; the world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation
on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Lord, Your works are wonderful. You are our hope and shield. In
You, do our hearts rejoice because we trust in Your Holy Name. Let Your unfailing love continue to surround
us, Lord, for our hope is in You alone.

Redeeming Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in the Greater Houston Area as it is in heaven.
We declare that as the people of God, we love You with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength and we love
our neighbors as ourselves. As citizens of this great city, we declare that we do not see Jew or Gentile, male
or female, black or white. But, as Your children, we have all put on Christ, like putting on new clothes and we
walk in unity and love with one another. It is because of this love that we exhibit for each other that people know
that we are Your disciples. Your Word tells us that if we love You, we must also love our brothers and sisters
in Christ. Therefore, we declare by faith that the Body of Christ in the Greater Houston Area does not stand
and declare our love for You with hate in our hearts for our brothers and sisters in Christ. We do not look out
only for our own interests, but we take an interest in the needs of others. We live in harmony with each other
and resist racial, social, and economic division. We are of one mind, united in thought and purpose. We declare
that the people in our communities resist evil, and do good; they search for peace and work to maintain it.

Think of some specific needs in the Greater Houston Area. Ask the Holy Spirit to use you as an agent
of change and take action:

Holy Spirit, please continue to draw the unsaved people in our city to the glory of the Father, so that they will
confess Jesus Christ and receive Him as their Savior and Lord. Mobilize and send us and other believers into
our communities to share the Gospel, causing Your power to prevail throughout the Greater Houston Area. Holy
Spirit, please unify our communities and help us all to stand for justice and righteousness. We ask that Your
Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, and power rest upon each political, civic, religious and business
leader, investor, and entrepreneur. Fill them with the knowledge of Your will and give them a thirst for Your
Word so that they will walk in Your ways for practicing business. Help them to make righteous decisions and
operate with honesty and integrity. Lord, please bless the Greater Houston Area to be a beacon of light and
hope for our nation.

Righteous Father, forgive us for any acts of sinfulness, including strife, discord, jealousy, rivalries, violence,
theft, injustice, hatred, oppression, greed, idolatry, pride, slander, racism, sexism, ageism, laziness, apathy, and
any abuse of power. Forgive those people in the Greater Houston Area who do not trust in You. Forgive those
of us who are Christians for not sharing Your Gospel with our neighbors. Father, forgive me for (list any sins
that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to
forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the
Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say,

34

“I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Almighty Lord, You are the blessed and Sovereign One. The King of kings, and the Lord of lords, who alone
has immortality, dwelling in an unapproachable light, whom no man can see. Yours is the Kingdom, the power
and the glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #14:
A Prayer for the State of Texas

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 89:1-8, Romans 13:1-7

Reflections of the Heart:
There is a rich cultural, professional, educational, medical and religious tapestry in the state of Texas. The
strength of our state is contingent upon the unity of the residents and our commitment to the Lord. Let’s keep
our great state in prayer.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your tender mercies and loving-kindness towards the City of Houston.
Thank You for the bountiful blessings You have given to us. Thank You for the state of Texas. Thank You for
uniting the Christians within our state. Lord, no pagan god is like You, our Lord. None can do what You do! All
the nations You made will come and bow before You; they will praise Your holy Name. You are great, and
perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God. Lord, You are good and Your faithful love endures forever.

Glorious Father, we declare that the state of Texas belongs to You and that it is You who will cause prosperity
to overflow in our communities and cities. We decree that justice will run down like water and righteousness like
a mighty stream within the political, judicial, and educational systems in our state. We commit to praying for
those who are in authority over us; Governor Greg Abbott and Mayor Sylvester Turner. We pray for all civic,
business and community leaders. As we do this, we expect to live peaceful and quiet lives marked by Godliness
and dignity. We declare that the righteous in our state will be called priests of the Lord; ministers of You, our
God. We will feed on the treasures of the nations and boast in their riches. Instead of shame and dishonor,
the residents of Texas will enjoy a double share of honor. We will possess a double portion of prosperity in our
land, and everlasting joy will be ours.

Holy Spirit, show me how to pray specifically for the needs of the state of Texas:

Rise up, O God, in Texas and scatter Your enemies! Let crime, murder and lawlessness be scattered. Let
homelessness, unemployment and corporate greed be scattered. Holy Spirit, fill the halls of the schools in our
state so that our children and youth will be safe and will obtain a quality education. Father, please open doors
for economic increase within our communities. Help the homeowners in Texas to successfully maintain their
property and pay their mortgages and taxes on time. Let equality and justice flow through the Medical Center
so that everyone receives quality, affordable health care. Let Your perfect love and peace preside over our
state. Holy Spirit, help Texas to stand as a beacon of light and hope for our nation to see what a Godly state
looks like.

Righteous Father, forgive the people of our state for hypocrisy, injustice, oppression, greed, racism, sexism,
ageism, elitism, deceit, lying, lewdness, pornography, selfish ambitions, lawlessness, rebellion, violence,
hatred, partiality, sexual promiscuity, homosexuality, adultery, fornication, and slander. Forgive us for not
equipping and preparing the next generation with the tools, knowledge and self-confidence they will need to be
effective, efficient leaders for tomorrow. Lord, forgive the Body of Christ for not praying consistently for our
leaders, city, state and nation. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind
us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Holy Spirit, help the residents of the state of Texas not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Eternal Lord, You are Holy. You are the blessed and only Almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
You alone can never die, and lives in light so brilliant that no human can approach You. No one has ever seen
You, nor ever will. To You be honor and power forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #15:
A Prayer for the Economy in the United States of America

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 8, Psalm 37:1-19

Reflections of the Heart:
God believes in economic development. He wants a nation to flourish. Psalm 33:12 states, “Blessed is the
nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Let us pray today for our
nation’s economy!

Scriptural Prayer:

Gracious Father, we thank You for being faithful to the United States of America throughout our history. Thank
You for blessing us to prosper and to grow from generation to generation. Thank You for keeping our nation
through our economic hardships and financial conflicts. You have been merciful, Lord. This whole earth,
everything in it, and the people who inhabit it belong to You, O God. It is You who supplies us with abundance.
It is You who sustains us in times of lack. Your instructions are perfect, they revive our souls. Your
commandments are clear and right. They give us insight for living. We, Your children, delight in them and love
to meditate on them day and night. We are grateful that You are willing to bear the heavy burdens of our nation
so that we are free to worship You and receive rest. Dear Father, it is You who strengthens our nation and
holds us up with Your victorious right hand!

Holy Father, we stand in the authority of Jesus’ Name, we command our economic infrastructure to align with
Your will. We confess that the hope of our nation’s citizens will not be deferred. Lord, we declare that You will
continue to raise up people within our nation’s financial leadership who have a supernatural anointing like
Joseph’s to receive, interpret, and administrate visions that will save companies, restore jobs, and open new
opportunities in stagnant sectors of our economic markets. All-Knowing Father, we decree that Your solution
will be sought and revealed in the earth to justify American jobs and encourage innovation and global
competitiveness among domestic corporations, giving priority consideration to United States taxpayers.

Make a list of three businesses in your community and begin to specifically pray that they are
successful:

Glorious Father, we pray that Your generous outpouring of wisdom, discernment, and divine understanding will
be gladly received by all local, state, and national economic and governmental leaders. Holy Spirit, we ask You
to strategically assign men and women who are fully equipped to reveal creative ideas and effective methods
to the current presidential economic team. Show them how to decrease our national deficit while continuing to
provide the necessary standards, services, and benefits to the American people. Holy Spirit, please revive the
Body of Christ and remind us of who we are − the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Give us divine
motivation to boldly declare the Word of God so that those who have become captives of this world’s system
can be liberated. Help us, as a nation, to reconnect to the Living God as our source and supply, and remove
any thoughts of doubt, fear, or dismay.

Loving Father, we repent on behalf of our nation for our many sins. We acknowledge that many of us played an
active role in causing the downturn of our economy. Forgive us for greed, arrogance, selfishness, and
oppression of the poor. Forgive our CEOs for overcompensating themselves and placing their employees and
companies in jeopardy in order to maintain their lavish lifestyles and greedy appetites. Forgive those consumers
who acted out of impulse and impatience and made unwise choices, landing them and their families in
tremendous debt. Merciful Father, please forgive our nation for being selfish, reckless, and irresponsible with
the blessings You intended to be handed down to the generations following us. Lord, forgive me for (list any
sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the citizens of our nation of those they need to forgive

and help us all to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.
(Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.

soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us, as a nation, not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Omnipotent God, how great are Your riches and wisdom and knowledge! You are the God who does great
things too marvelous to understand. It is You who performs countless miracles. We praise You, Lord! Let
everyone on earth bless Your holy Name forever and ever! Everything comes from You and exists by Your
power and is intended for Your glory. All glory to You forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
