HOW TO USE THE POWER GUIDENow this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. I John 5:14-15The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based on the model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13). In order to maximize the use of your guide, please follow the listed instructions.1. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s). Graduallybuild your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes each day. You can split up yourprayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the morning and evening. You choose the time of daythat is good for you. Find a comfortable place to pray and turn off any distractions. If you have small childrenwho need most of your attention, pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s Word saturate their hearing.2. Refer to the Prayer Topic Calendar on page for the specific prayer for the day. Only pray for the prayertopic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying. Please do not get ahead of theprayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,” first read the Scriptures listed for “ScriptureReading.”3. Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents, please encourageyour children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out loud. Youth (ages 13-17) may usethe Adult Power Guide.4. These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful conversations. Trust theHoly Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are praying for the day. If you speak in tongues,please pray in tongues over each prayer topic. Relax, listen and enjoy the Lord.5. But, as children of the Living God, we have the assurance of knowing that we are safe and secure within our Heavenly Father’s protective arms. His angels are watching over us wherever we go.Scriptural Prayer:Wonderful Father, we thank You for peace and protection for our families. We thank You, Lord, for having plans for good and not disaster for us, to give us a future and a hope. Thank You for blessing us with Your perfect peace as we keep our thoughts fixed on You. Thank You for being our strength in times of weakness. You are great and most worthy of praise. You are to be feared above all gods. The earth is Yours and everything in it; the world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean’s depths. You are the King of glory, the Lord strong and mighty. You are the Lord, invincible in battle. O Lord, You have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. Father, we thank You for surrounding us with Your favor like a shield. Thank You for continuing to open doors of financial opportunity. We praise You with all of our hearts; we will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. Your reign is forever. You execute judgment from Your throne. You judge the world with justice and the people righteously. Father, Your righteousness reaches to the highest heavens. You have done wonderful things! Who can compare with You? Thank You for being a Comforter, Provider, and Protector for those family members of our U.S. Military Personnel. Lord, we praise and honor Your name. Your name is the Lord and we rejoice before You. You have been our home through all the generations. We praise You, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen! O Lord, what a variety of things You have made. In wisdom, You have made them all. The earth is full of Your creatures. Lord, You are a faithful, loving, and compassionate God, and we bless You. As our soldiers return home, Holy Spirit, help them to process all they have experienced. Heal any physical and emotional wounds. Lord, we ask that the wait times for appointments at the VA Hospital will be shortened and that each veteran will be treated with dignity and respect. Holy Spirit, we ask that You give our government officials the wisdom on how to cut down on the red tape that ensnares so many veterans from receiving all of the benefits they are entitled to. As a nation, help us to not overlook or discount the sacrifices our military veterans have made for the freedom of our nation.

Forgive them for lying, cheating, stealing, slander, strife, malice, envy, jealousy, selfishness, disobedience and rebellion. Forgive our nation for hypocrisy, slander, greed, racism, injustice, elitism, hatred, and violence. Father, forgive the media for misrepresenting the truth. We thank You that we are also free to lift our voices in protest as we deal with government corruption, systemic racism, injustice, and police oppression. We are thankful that people from all races and walks of life are now uniting and making their voices heard for the cause of justice and righteousness. We are mindful of Your Holy Scripture, which confirms that righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants. A second commandment is equally important: that we love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Despite Your commands, a segment of the U.S. population has vigorously held onto positions of power and privilege through systemic racism. The historically majority White population in America has created and selectively enforced laws to oppress Black people and other people of color. Our government and judicial systems have also routinely supported the use of excessive force by police, especially against Black people, in “protecting” the privileged. The current gap in policing practices is so wide that while members of the White population feel comfort and security when they see police, Black citizens often experience fear and dread. Holy Father, You created people to be virtuous, but many have turned to follow their own downward path. Many people in this country discriminate against people simply because of the color of their skin. Lord, Your Word confirms that the human heart is the most deceitful of all things and that You search all hearts and examine secret motives. You give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve. Lord, we pray that You change the hearts of people in America who discriminate against others on the basis of race and socioeconomic status. Even people who profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior have supported racism in America - sometimes openly, and often through their silence - “minding their own business,” as systemic injustice protected their power and privilege. Lord, Your Word is clear, and we stand on Your Word as we pull down the strongholds in the hearts and minds of government officials, law enforcement and citizens who believe they are entitled to reign over segments of people in Your creation. Father, Your Word says there is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For we all are one in Christ Jesus. So, we pull down the demonic strongholds in the minds of those who
consider themselves privileged and entitled, and we declare that all members of the Body of Christ will love their neighbors as they love themselves. Protect activists, governmental leaders, members of the media, and everyday citizens who raise their voices and use their influence to oppose racism and promote the cause of justice and righteousness for all who are oppressed. Father, we pray that You will spur the Body of Christ to lead in demonstrating Your love, as our nation works to identify and replace racism and oppression with Your justice and righteousness. We believe God for everyone in our Church Family to grow within a W.I.S.D.O.M. Bible study and their lives will increase as a result of the Word. Scriptural Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the covenant we have with You through Jesus Christ. Thank You for Your Word, which is a lamp to guide our feet and a light for our path. Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth. We love You, Lord. You are our strength. You are our rock, our fortress, and our savior. You are our rock, in whom we find protection. Father, Your way is perfect. You have given us your shield of victory. You have made a wide path for our feet to keep us from slipping. Please open up new revenue streams so that they will not have to struggle or go without financially. Father, protect them from those who would try to prey upon them with get-rich-quick schemes, unnecessary mediation, predatory loans, or any other schemes to steal from them. Increase their discernment and wisdom when they make decisions, especially where their health and finances are concerned.
