Day 12
The Final Victory of Jesus' Righteous Judgement
1. Center Down
Before you begin today’s spiritual excursion, please take a few moments to breathe! Take three slow, deep
breaths, expanding from your abdomen; try not to raise your shoulders. As you inhale, whisper, “Jesus is...” As
you exhale whisper, “the righteous judge...”
2. Slowly read aloud the following Scriptures:
(Feel free to pause at any time during your reading to reflect on, thank, praise, or acknowledge God’s stirring in your thoughts and emotions.)
[The final Judgement of those who did not follow The Lamb] “Then [John says] I saw a great white throne and
Him [Jesus] who was seated on it. From His presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for
them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another
book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books,
according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the
dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then
Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's
name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:11-14)
For further reading: Matthew 25
3. Concepts to Consider:
The final judgement that we see pictured in Chapter 20 of the Revelation of Jesus Christ is for many a chilling
and frightening scene. And it is that for those who have ultimately rejected Jesus. Throughout the Book of
Revelation we see how many ways God’s grace is made available to humanity. Over and over again, we see God
truly moving heaven and earth to demonstrate His love toward humanity, but like a person who still continues
to smoke even after they’ve watched a loved one die of smoking-related lung cancer, God will not force Himself
on unrepentant people. At some point, they must face the consequences of their rejection. But let us be clear;
Jesus’ judgement is not like ours. It is purely just and righteous and without vindictive malice.
We often imagine the wrath of God is like our wrath, full of anger and vitriol. This is not the wrath of God
depicted in the Scripture. Rather, what we see is that it is much like the law of gravity. We can choose to obey
the law of gravity or not, but if we don’t, grave consequences will follow. If I choose to walk off a cliff, it will
certainly feel like “the wrath of gravity” when I hit the ground below! When humans, therefore, walk headlong
over the cliff of God’s best design for us, then the results will certainly feel “wrathful.” We are the recipients of
the results of our and other people’s sinful actions. God didn’t change or move, humanity did.
In Revelation 20, we see the final reckoning for those who are not on The Kingdom citizenship roll (aka “The
Book of Life”). In the end, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will
enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. On that day many
will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and do many

52
mighty works in Your Name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers
of lawlessness.’” It’s all about nurturing a real (not a half-hearted or merit-based) relationship with God through
Jesus Christ, empowered by His Spirit.
4. Reflection Questions:
(You are encouraged to write, draw, or respond however the Lord leads to the following inquiries. To share your musings in a public forum
where others can dialog and process with you, please go to http://tiny.cc/victoryn30 ).
1. God is rich in love and mercy and desires that none should perish. Take some time to assess your
relationship with Jesus. What is going well? Where are some areas of improvement that are needed?
5. Prayer for Today:
Eternal Lord, we thank You for being the One who alone can judge rightly. Thank You for hearing us when we
call to You for help. Thank You for moving on the hearts of Your people to establish peace, justice, and
righteousness in the earth. We will sing of Your unfailing love forever. Young and old will hear of Your
faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens.
Immortal Father, we decree that justice shall run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream in our
hearts, our families, our social circles, our city, our state, our nation, and our world! Your Word says You will
judge the world with justice and the nations with Your truth. So we trust You today to reign in justice and truth!
And because Your Spirit dwells within us, the Body of Christ, we confess that we will walk in righteousness and
integrity. We will not discriminate against anyone because of their race, their sex, or their age. We will not pay
back evil with more evil but, by Your grace, we will always seek to do things in such a way that everyone can see
that we are honorable and that we are Your children.
Holy Spirit, please help us to desire and commit to daily walk in Your justice and righteousness without prejudice
or partiality. Deal with the hearts of those Christians who practice this ungodliness. Remind them to walk in
Your Spirit and not in their flesh.
Abba Father, forgive us for any acts of injustice. Forgive us for judging others by what seems right in our own
eyes for You alone are the Righteous Judge. Forgive us for loving rules and traditions more than people, who
are all made in Your image. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind
us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit
to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of
person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Righteous Judge, You are greater than any other god. You are seated in majesty. Your Name, Lord, endures
forever, Your fame is known to every generation. Yours, Lord, is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
53
Optional Time of Centering/Soaking:
If possible, take some time, perhaps 5 to 15 minutes, to get into a comfortable position and simply allow the Lord
to minister to you at a deep level (Psalm 42:7). Turn off or put down all distractions. Close your eyes. Hold in
your thoughts a meaningful word, phrase, or image from the Scripture passages you read today. Release all
other thoughts and concerns into the Presence of the Lord. If your thoughts wander, that’s okay, just gently
return to your Scriptural word, phrase, or image. You may want to set a timer.

Day 13
God, the Holy Spirit is Our Victor
1. Center Down
Before you begin today’s spiritual excursion, please take a few moments to breathe! Take three slow, deep
breaths, expanding from your abdomen; try not to raise your shoulders. As you inhale, whisper, “Holy Spirit...”
As you exhale whisper, “You bring victory...”
2. Slowly read aloud the following Scriptures:
(Feel free to pause at any time during your reading to reflect on, thank, praise, or acknowledge God’s stirring in your thoughts and emotions.)
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness
was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
(Genesis 1:1-2, ESV)
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female
servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit. (Joel 2:28-29, ESV)
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven
a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues
as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in
Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. For these people are not drunk, as you
suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel…”
(Acts 2:1-4; 14-16, ESV)

3. Concepts to Consider:
In Revelation 2, Jesus speaks this phrase, “to [the one] who has an ear, let them hear what the Spirit says to the
churches. [To] the one who keeps on conquering….” It is repeated three times followed variously by three
promises specific to the membership of each of the churches in Ephesus, Smyrna and Pergamum. Notice here
that individual and corporate conquering (victory) is situated in close proximity to listening to the Holy Spirit.
So how, then, do we “hear the Holy Spirit?”
First, let’s be clear that the Holy Spirit is NOT my intuition, a disembodied force, my conscience, or the voice of
a fortune teller or my horoscope. The Holy Spirit is God. He eternally shares the same Divine Substance with
Jesus and the Father, yet has His own distinct Personality.
56
Secondly, we can perceive the nudging of the Holy Spirit as a quiet internal voice that reinforces and encourages
us in the teachings and ways of Jesus and the Father as found in the Scripture.
Thirdly, we can hear the Holy Spirit in prayer, both individually and corporately, especially as we attend to what
God has already said in His Word.
Finally, we can hear and experience the Holy Spirit through His gifts that can manifest both individually and
corporately.
There is the story of John Wesley (the founder of the Methodist movement) receiving a word of knowledge from
the Holy Spirit that he should quickly usher the group he was meeting with out of the house where they were
assembled. Within moments of them exiting the home, it exploded due to an errant spark from the chimney
falling into a nearby barrel of gunpowder! God the Holy Spirit is alive and speaking today!
Honestly, hearing clearly and consistently from the Holy Spirit takes practice and mentorship from more mature
followers of Jesus. Staying connected to the local church and to solid, doctrinally sound teaching is vitally
important to attuning our “spiritual ears.”
4. Reflection Question:
(You are encouraged to write, draw, or respond however the Lord leads to the following inquiries. To share your musings in a public forum
where others can dialog and process with you, please go to http://tiny.cc/victoryn30 ).
1. Do you hear from the Holy Spirit? If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you have His Spirit within you.
Take some time to stop and listen for His still, small voice… Write down anything you hear making sure
it is consistent with the already revealed Word of God.
5. Prayer for Today:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for saving us through the sacrifice of Your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. We thank
You for sending the Holy Spirit to be our victorious instructor, guide, teacher and comforter. Thank You, Holy
Spirit, for empowering us to be effective and victorious witnesses for Jesus Christ to those around us.
Mighty God, we have NOT received a spirit of fear; instead, we have received Your Spirit when You adopted us
as Your children. We confess that the same Holy Spirit who resurrected Jesus from the dead now dwells in
victory and hope within us. We decree that You, Holy Spirit, are our Comforter and our Helper. We depend on
You to remind us of everything Jesus taught while He lived on the earth. You are God’s power source, and You
are the Teacher of all truth.
57
Holy Spirit, continue to lead and guide our lives into all victory and hope. As we study God’s Word, reveal the
Kingdom of God to us and within us and help us to share the Kingdom in this dark world. Show us those areas
in our personal lives that we need to get in order so that we will not bring You sorrow by the way we live. Help
us to get rid of all bitterness, unforgiveness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil
behavior. Instead, show us how to be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has
forgiven us through Christ Jesus.
Holy Spirit, what are the areas in my life that I need to surrender to You? List them:
Heavenly Father, forgive those who deny the existence or power of the Holy Spirit. Forgive those who have
discouraged others from embracing the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Forgive us for not completely yielding control
of our lives to the Holy Spirit. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind
us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my
remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of
people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the
Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Almighty God, the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it all belong to You. You are the God of gods
and Lord of lords. You are the great God, the mighty and awesome God. You alone are worthy of praise because
You alone perform such great miracles. In the majestic Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen!
Optional Time of Centering/Soaking:
If possible, take some time, perhaps 5 to 15 minutes, to get into a comfortable position and simply allow the Lord to minister to you at
a deep level (Psalm 42:7). Turn off or put down all distractions. Close your eyes. Hold in your thoughts a meaningful word, phrase,
or image from the Scripture passages you read today. Release all other thoughts and concerns into the Presence of the Lord. If your
thoughts wander, that’s okay, just gently return to your Scriptural word, phrase, or image. You may want to set a timer.

Day 14
Victory Through the Fruit of the Spirit
1. Center Down
Before you begin today’s spiritual excursion, please take a few moments to breathe! Take three slow, deep breaths, expanding from
your abdomen; try not to raise your shoulders. As you inhale, whisper, “The fruit of the Spirit...” As you exhale whisper, “is love...”
2. Slowly read aloud the following Scriptures:
(Feel free to pause at any time during your reading to reflect on, thank, praise, or acknowledge God’s stirring in your thoughts and emotions.)
[The prophet Isaiah sings to the people of God,] “For the palace is forsaken, the populous city deserted; the hill
and the watchtower will become dens forever, a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks; until the Spirit is poured
upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is deemed a forest.
Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness abide in the fruitful field.”
(Isaiah 32:14-16, ESV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control;
against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions
and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited,
provoking one another, envying one another. (Galatians 5:22-26, ESV)
For further reading: Isaiah 32; 57 and 58.
3. Concepts to Consider:
The prophet Isaiah and the Apostle Paul both knew that apart from the indwelling presence of the Spirit of God,
humanity was given to self-destructive tendencies. Without the sustaining grace of God, humanity would have
ended itself long ago. Paul paints for those who “belong to Christ Jesus” a more hopeful portrait of life. Because
after the Ascension of Jesus, the church experienced an amazing, universal outpouring of the Holy Spirit as Joel
and Isaiah had predicted and hoped for. This state was a return to what we see in Genesis Chapter 1, where the
Spirit of God hovered over primordial creation. In the church, we see a “new creation” happening since the
completion of Jesus’ redemptive work. It was a time of explosive growth, hope and miraculously restored lives,
in short, a time of returning to the shalom that God had always intended for humanity. The church was to be
the example of this restored Kingdom of Godon earth as it was already in heaven.
If we look carefully at Galatians Chapter 5, we see that the whole chapter is about Paul reminding the Galatian
church of their true identity in Christ that is secured as “they walk in the Spirit.” As they keep step with the
Spirit, then the self-referenced and destructive desires will begin to fall away, and they will be replaced by the
very attributes of God Himself, the chief of which is LOVE. Notice that there is one, singular “fruit” of the Spirit.
That is love; agape, God-like love, not grimy, sexually perverse “love.” The other attributes listed in verses 22
and 23 are outgrowths of this love. If I am exhibiting love, then I will experience and exude joy, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
60
And how do we do this? Paul gives us a clue: by “crucifying the flesh.” This means we offer ourselves daily as a
living sacrifice on the altar of God’s truth. We surrender our lies. We lay down our false, self-referenced lives.
We realize our ways are not God’s ways. Without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we can’t even say, “Jesus is
Lord.” Apart from Him, we can do nothing. (Luke 9:23, John 15:5, Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 12:1-3) In
return for this surrender, what we find is that God reveals our true selves. We are restored and in our right
mind. We are free indeed!
4. Reflection Question:
(You are encouraged to write, draw, or respond however the Lord leads to the following inquiries. To share your musings in a public forum
where others can dialog and process with you, please go to http://tiny.cc/victoryn30 ).
1. What area(s) of my life do I need to surrender to God so that I can begin to see the fruit of God’s love and
presence begin to grow and bloom in my life?
5. Prayer for Today:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the outpouring of Your Holy Spirit among us. Thank You for redeeming and
reconciling us back to You, through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for working to bear within us the fruit of
the Spirit. You are an awesome and loving God!
Holy Father, we declare that we shall bear the fruit of Your Spirit in our lives. Our lives will be characterized by
holy love, which is demonstrated through joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and
self-control. We declare that we are Your servants. Father, it is the infilling of the Holy Spirit that empowers us
to be witnesses for You in the earth.
Holy Spirit, saturate every corner of our lives. We desire to become transformed through the renewing of our
minds. Holy Spirit, fall fresh upon us! Help us to lay aside our own agendas and motives so that we can receive
a direct impartation of Your power, wisdom, direction, correction, encouragement and love. Empower us to walk
fully in the fruit of the Spirit.
Merciful Father, forgive us for at times grieving Your Spirit. Forgive us for acts of sinfulness such as: pride,
rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, stealing, lying, sexual immorality, and idolatry. Forgive those of us
who have not worshipped You in Spirit and in Truth. Forgive those of us who speak of the Holy Spirit, but do not
allow Him to operate fully within us. Forgive those of us who have a form of godliness, but deny Your power.
Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to
forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to
forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to
forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in
your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
61
Lord of Heaven’s Armies, Your home reaches up to the heavens, while its foundation is on the earth. You draw
up water from the oceans and pour it down as rain on the land. The Lord is Your Name! In the mighty Name of
Jesus. Amen.

FALL FEASTS OVERVIEW
Reflect, Repent, Reconcile, Remember, Rejoice
And the Lord spoke to Moses saying, “Speak to the Children of Israel, and
say to them: The Feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy
convocations, these are My feasts.” Leviticus 23:1
The Fall Feasts consist of three festivals: The Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, and The Feast of
Tabernacles. These feasts are extremely important because they teach us to honor God for who He is and for
what He has done for us. In addition, they teach us about God’s plan for humankind and how He powerfully
intervenes in human affairs! Revelation 21:3 says “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell
with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.” During the Fall Feast
season we are expecting God to tabernacle with us.
THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS
The Feast of Trumpets, also known as Rosh Hashanah, celebrates the new year in Christ. It is believed that God
created the world during this time. On this day, a shofar or trumpet is blown to mark the beginning of ten days
called the “High Holy Days” or “Days of Awe.” The blowing of the trumpet serves as a “wake-up” call to honor
God as King, to remember His goodness and His faithfulness to His people, and to reveal and awaken the
conscience and soul of His people. The High Holy Days consist of 10 days of repentance, reflection, and
restoration. This period ends on the Day of Atonement.

THE DAY OF ATONEMENT
The Day of Atonement is considered the holiest day of the year. Known as the Day of Redemption, this is the
day that believers stand before Almighty God and confess their mistakes and sins. Participating in this day helps
the believer to recognize that sin has been forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ. As believers confess their
sins and recognize their dependence on God, Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross frees them of all unrighteousness. In
Christ, we have a future and a hope!

THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES
The Feast of Tabernacles is the climax of the Fall Feasts and the most celebrative. It is God’s appointed time for
believers to come into His presence and celebrate His glory, provision, protection, and deliverance through Jesus
Christ. Leviticus 23:40 says to “Rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days.” Deuteronomy 16:14-15 says
to “Be joyful at your Feast for the Lord your God will bless you and your joy will be complete.” We will celebrate
with singing, dancing, and great food. Mark your calendar to be a part of this exciting time.

God’s Days of Rest
As our Church Family prepares to celebrate the Fall Feasts, consider scheduling the following days off from work. In
Leviticus 23, God instructs the Israelites to “do no customary work” on specific days associated with the feasts. “No
customary work” basically means to take the day off from work. The Lord understands if you have to work, but if you can,
take the day off enjoy the Lord and your family.
“No Customary Work” Days
Remember all Holy days begin at sundown the evening before the calendar day listed.
(Example: The Feast of Trumpets begins at sundown on Sunday, September 9th).
Monday, September 10th Feast of Trumpets
Wednesday, September 19th Day of Atonement
Thursday, September 24th Feast of Tabernacles (Day 1)
Sunday, October 1st Feast of Tabernacles (Day 8)

FASTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADULTS
I. What is a Fast?
The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” The Greek word for fasting means “not to
eat.” Simply put, fasting means to abstain from food. Fasting involves turning away from foods that the
body craves in order for our spirit to concentrate on God in worship, service, and praise.
Fasting has been a part of Christianity through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural
sacrifice. Fasting does not change or impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting, Christians are
empowered to discipline their daily relationship with the Lord.
The fast will consist of abstaining from food. In other words, you are fasting if you are not eating food.
The primary method of fasting will be one (1) meal each day.
II. Why Should We Fast?
John Wesley, the original organizer of the Methodist Movement, fasted. In fact, he fasted twice a week.
More importantly, Jesus Christ fasted! We fast as a Church Family because God’s blessings reside in our
unity. This special time encourages us to be “like-minded, having the same love and being of one accord
and of one mind” (Philippians 2:1-3).
III. Who Should Fast?
Prayerfully, each member will participate in the Church Family Spiritual Fast. Please consult your
physician about your fasting if: (1) you are pregnant; (2) you are on prescribed medication; (3) you are
under a doctor’s care; (4) you have experienced illness on a previous fast; (5) or, you do not normally eat
anyway.
YOUR PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THIS FAST! FOLLOW YOUR PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS!!!
IV. Why Fast?
The benefits include:
1. Having a closer relationship with God, our Father, who created us;
2. Focusing you on Jesus, the Supply, and Supplier of your benefits and blessings;
3. Becoming more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit;
4. Presenting the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord;
5. Intensifying your prayer life;
6. Aiding in removing unbelief and breaking yokes of bondage;
8. Sharpening your intellect, skill, discernment, and understanding;
9. Aiding in clarity of spiritual hearing when guidance or a decision is needed from the Holy
Spirit;
10. Hastening emotional, spiritual, financial, and physical healing for both individuals and the
community;
71
11. Fostering personal discipline that will help to reduce impulsive fleshly urges that do not align with
Scripture; and,
12. Demonstrating (to yourself) an act of scriptural obedience.
V. How to Fast
The primary method of fasting for the Church Family Spiritual Fast will be one (1) meal each day eaten
after 6:00 p.m. Meals should be completed within 75 minutes from the moment you put food into
your mouth.
Fasting Options include:
1. “Veterans” - Veterans are those members who have participated in the Church Family Spiritual Fast
two or more times.
2. “First Round Draft Choices” - (First Rounders are those persons who have never fasted or have only
participated in a Church Spiritual Fast one time.) First Rounders will eat two (2) meals per day, one at
breakfast before 8:00 a.m. and one after 6:00 p.m. Be consistent; eat the breakfast meal at a routine
hour. Complete your meals within 75 minutes from the moment you put food into your mouth. Please
pray the daily prayer topic during the time of the skipped meal (lunch meal) and during your regular
prayer time for the day.
3. “Special Teams” consist of persons who are under a doctor’s care, pregnant, or unable to miss a meal
for health reasons. Special Teams should eat regularly scheduled meals. Participation in the Church
Family Spiritual Fast will consist of abstaining from foods such as sweets, carbonated beverages, breads,
meats, or any food that you feel “you must have at least a little of every day.”
4. It is important for the Church Family to be of one mind and heart. Please fast in
accordance with the above-listed instructions. Fasts such as a “cleansing fast,”
“grapefruit fast,” and others are not appropriate during this special time.
VI. Requirements for Fasting
1. No nibbling! If you feel hungry (that’s expected and normal), drink water and pray.
2. No sweets (including sweeteners), chips, candy, chewing gum, soft drinks, or any other junk food
should be eaten at any time during the fast by Veterans, First Rounders, or Special Teams.
3. If you experience headaches, fatigue or weakness, faint feelings, nausea, fever, and/or extreme
hunger, eat a piece of fruit, slice of bread, crackers, or vegetables (preferably raw). Consult your
physician if these feelings persist.
4. Water only! Please restrict your liquid intake to water. No sodas, juices, fruit juices, lemon water, or
flavored water. If you are fasting no food, please drink at least 64oz – 80oz of water each day. Raw
vegetable juices are permitted if you are fasting no food.
5. If you experience “blackouts” while exerting energy, please eat a light, nutritionally-balanced meal. If
you are eating once a day, it is recommended that you do not exercise during the fast.
6. As I Corinthians 7:5 tells us, no love-making for married folk! (Single Christians are already abstaining.)
Both spouses should agree to the fast as a sacrifice of consecration to the Lord. If one of the spouses is
not in agreement with I Corinthians 7:5, then do not abstain. There must be agreement between marital
partners.
7. Individual prayer times for each day are 6:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m. If your schedule does not allow for
these hours, please adjust your schedule to include a morning prayer time and an evening prayer time.
72
8. If you “fall off” the fast, get back on. Do not allow the devil to condemn you. Ask your covenant group
(see Covenant Groups on page 75) for help.
VII. What Are We Praying About During the Fast?
This Power Guide contains the prayers that we will pray during the fast and Fall Feasts. Please pray each
prayer on the appropriate day as designated by the Prayer Topic Calendar.
VIII. How Can We Be a Blessing While Fasting?
In Isaiah 58:6-2, the Lord explains that an acceptable fast to Him includes feeding and clothing those in
need. In addition to praying, you can bless others by using some of the money you would spend on
eating out or buying groceries to provide food and clothing for others. See details on the Promise
of Giving on page 76.

XIII. You Can Fast in Jesus’ Name!
While fasting, keep your countenance positive. Matthew 6:16-18 tells us not to “advertise our fasting.”
Keep your fasting a secret. Be sensible and do your best. God does not smile upon “super fasters.”
Expect God to be AWESOME and to do AWESOME things through you and the Church Family.

Fasting Instructions for Children and Youth
God gives us pastors according to His heart who will feed us with knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15).
We must obey our pastors for they watch over our souls (Hebrews 13:17).
Parents should teach and guide by their example the importance of following the leadership of our pastors.
When Pastor Caldwell proclaims the fast, children and youth are capable of obeying and participating.
Parents, please prayerfully consider including your children and youth in the Church Family Spiritual Fast. It will
be a blessed experience for them and it will begin to lay a foundation for their future. Your support and
encouragement are recommended to maximize your child’s success.
I. What is a Fast?
The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” Fasting has been a part of Christianity through
the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural sacrifice. Fasting does not change or impress God. Fasting
changes us. Through fasting, Christians are empowered to discipline their daily relationship with the
Lord.
II. Why Should Children and Youth Fast?
● To have a closer relationship with God our Father and Jesus Christ;
● To become more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit;
● To present the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord; and
● To build your prayer life.
As children and youth fast, they, too, will receive the benefits and blessings of obedience and fasting.
III. How to Fast
● Eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
● Eat healthy vegetables, fruits, meats, breads, milk, and cereal.
● Eat a healthy snack between meals such as fruit, vegetables, etc.
● Drink WATER, 100% JUICE, and MILK as the only beverages.
NO SWEETS, PIZZA, FRENCH FRIES, CHIPS, CANDY, CHEWING GUM, SOFT DRINKS,
OR ANY OTHER JUNK FOODS!

COVENANT GROUPS
Ecclesiastes 4:12 states, “Though one may be empowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not easily broken.”
It is highly recommended that during our this Fall Feast Season you gather a group
of spiritually encouraging friends/family of 3 or more persons. This group should
gather at least once a week throughout the month of September to pray, encourage,
and reflect on the daily study topics together. You may choose to focus on one day
out of the week during your time together, or you may choose to reflect on God’s
work in your life from the entire week’s study and prayer topics.
IMPORTANT: Please register your Covenant Group with Pastor Kim and Incite! so
that we can send you weekly reminders and encouragement.
