HOW TO USE YOUR KINGDOM BUILDERS’ POWER GUIDE Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the topics that we have asked of Him. I John 5:14-15 The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based on the model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13). To maximize the use of your guide, please follow the listed instructions. 1. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s). Gradually build your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes each day. You can split up your prayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the morning and evening. You choose the time of day that is good for you. Find a comfortable place to pray and turn off any distractions. If you have small children who need most of your attention, pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s Word saturate their hearing. 2. Refer to the Prayer Topics Calendar on page for the specific prayer for the day. Only pray for the prayer topic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying. Please do not get ahead of the prayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,” first read the Scriptures listed for “Scripture Reading.” 3. Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents please encourage your children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out loud. Youth (ages 13-17) may use the Adult Power Guide. 4. These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful conversations. Trust the Holy Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are praying for the day. If you speak in tongues, please pray in tongues over each prayer topic. Relax, listen, and enjoy the Lord. 5. Record any reflections, revelations, or inspiration given by the Holy Spirit in the Prayer Expectation section at the end of the Power Guide. 6. Believe that the Lord is hearing your prayer and know in your heart that your praying will produce God’s results for the prayer topic you are praying for. 7. After praying, make your daily power confession by using the Daily Power Confessions located on page in the back of your Power Guide. When you speak God’s Word over your life, you activate the power of His Word to work in your life and produce God’s results for your life. Expect God’s Word to transform your life. Prayer Topic #1: A Prayer for Spiritual Maturity in the Body of Christ Scripture Reading: Psalm 89:5 -11, Hebrews 5:11-14 - 6:1-12 Reflections of the Heart: As believers, we should always be learning, growing, and maturing in the Word of God. As a Church Family, we should be continually moving from the milk to the meat of God’s Word. Scriptural Prayer: Our Father, thank You for Your Word which instructs and guides us. Thank You for Your rod and Your staff which protect and comfort us. Thank You for Your love which can never be separated from us. Father, with all that we are, we will praise Your name as long as we live. You made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. You keep every promise forever. You are righteous in everything that You do, You are filled with kindness. Lord, You are close to all who call on You in truth. You grant the desires of those who fear You; You hear their cries for help and rescue them. Loving Father, You have given us pastors and teachers to equip us to do Your work and to build up the church, the Body of Christ. It is Your will that we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of Your Son so that we will be mature in You Lord; measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ Jesus. Therefore, we confess that as members of the Body of Christ, we will be a community of faith who will study God’s Word so that we are not ashamed and will correctly explain the Word of truth. Lord, it is not Your desire for us to be unskilled in the Word of righteousness like babes in Christ, but You want our senses to be developed to recognize the difference between right and wrong like those who are mature. We declare that we are a body of believers who are becoming very skillful in God’s Word and more sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leadership. We know that if we live according to the flesh, we will die, but if we live by the Spirit and put the deeds of the body to death, we will live. We confess that, daily, we are moving from the sincere milk of God’s Word to becoming meat-eaters. We commit to reading and meditating on God’s Word daily. Holy Spirit, show me the areas of my life where I am still a spiritual infant and what I need to do to mature in those areas: ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ Holy Spirit, enlighten our hearts through the Word of God. Help the members of the Body of Christ to fully obtain knowledge of the Father’s will and to walk in spiritual wisdom and understanding. Holy Spirit, please help those who are emotionally immature to commit their ways to You and help them to manage their emotions. Change their appetites so that their desires are for God instead of the world. Forgiving Father, please forgive those who have been lazy about learning more about You. Forgive those members who do not acknowledge You in all of their ways. Forgive them for depending on themselves instead of You, Your Son, and Your Holy Spirit. Forgive those who carry offenses, grudges, and anger. Forgive all of us for acts of pride, rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, and idolatry. Forgive those members who, instead of walking by faith, allow their passions and lusts to lead them. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). I don’t believe you can stand for freedom for one group of people and deny it to others.” ~ Coretta Scott King Spiritual Prayer Heavenly Father, we thank You, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of Your wonderful deeds. Lord, we thank you and praise your glorious name! Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us! Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering us to be effective witnesses for Jesus Christ and being God’s guarantee for the inheritance He promised. Because of You, this guarantee includes that we have been purchased to be His own people. Hallel YAH! Father God, we praise You, our Savior. Each day, You carry us in Your arms; You are the God who saves. Mighty God, Your Word says that we have not received a spirit that makes us fearful slaves; instead, we have received Your Spirit when You adopted us as Your children. We confess that the same Holy Spirit who resurrected Jesus from the dead now dwells within us. It is the Holy Spirit who gives life to our mortal bodies, just as He gave life to Christ and raised Him from the dead. Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory You will reveal to us later. For we wait eagerly for that future day when You will reveal who Your children really are. You freed the Israelites from Egypt, the Jews from the Holocaust and the American Negro from slavery, for which many states now celebrate on June 19th. We declare that these are forerunners to a future that will guide us toward justice and freedom for all regardless of race, creed, gender or ethnicity. Help all people to seek Your wisdom and allow You to direct their paths as they do their part in reforming our nation. Holy Spirit, we pray that the Body of Christ will rise up in leadership to demonstrate God’s love as our nation works to identify and replace racism and oppression of any kind with justice and righteousness. Merciful Father, forgive us for not completely yielding control of our lives to You. Forgive those who do not stand for justice and righteousness for all people. Forgive Christian leaders who fail to teach believers Your Word about how You look upon the hearts of all people and not upon their physical human characteristics. Prayer Topic #3: A Prayer for Our Fathers Scripture Reading: Psalm 134, Psalm 128 Reflections of the Heart: As a Church Family, we declare that our fathers are loving and compassionate leaders in their homes. They are successful in their communities, professional lives, and in our Church. We praise and thank God for them, daily! Scriptural Prayer: Triumphant Father, we thank You for the fathers in our Church Family. Thank You for reminding them daily that they are created in Your image. Thank You for crowning each of them with glory and honor. Thank You for helping them to take their rightful place as the head of their homes. We, Your servants, give praise to You, Lord. Your name will be blessed now and forever! Everywhere from east to west, Your name shall be praised. Lord, You are high above the nations; Your glory is higher than the heavens. No one can be compared with You! Not to us, O Lord, but all glory will go to Your name for Your unfailing love and Your faithfulness. Majestic Father, by faith, we declare that the fathers in our Church Family are saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. They are priestly providers and protectors of their families. We confess that our fathers will not copy the behavior and customs of this world; but they will allow You, Lord, to transform them into new men by changing the way they think. We decree that our fathers are the head and not the tail; they are always on top and never at the bottom. They are not victims of society; but they are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. Their children will honor them; for this is right in Your sight. We confess that our fathers will not provoke their children to anger by the way they treat them; but they will raise them with the discipline and instruction that comes from You, our Heavenly Father. Above all, we confess that our fathers have victorious futures because Your plans for them are of hope, filled with good and not evil. We decree that the fruit of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control are evident in their lives. Faithful Father, forgive our fathers for sins of disobedience, selfishness, and lying. Forgive our wives and mothers for taking on the roles You have ordained for husbands and fathers. Forgive us as a society for focusing on the fathers who are not living up to their responsibilities while ignoring those who are taking care of their families. We thank You for blessing them through a challenging school year. Thank You for protecting and watching over them as they return to extracurricular activities. Thank You for blessing them with a chance for recreation, rest, and relax during the summer. Father, we bless Your holy name. We come before Your presence with thanksgiving, and we shout joyfully to You, the Rock of our salvation. Lord, You are the great God, and the great King above all gods. In Your hand are the deep places of the earth; the mightiest mountains are Yours. The sea is Yours, for You made it, and Your hands formed the dry land. Lord, You are our God and we are the people You watch over, the flock under Your care. Holy Father, we declare that our children and youth live in the shelter of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty. As a result, no harm will come near them during the summer. In accordance to their obedience, we declare that they are blessed in the city and in the country. They are blessed when they come in, and when they go out. We confess by faith, that our children and youth will not follow the advice of the wicked or stand around sinners, or join in with mockers; but they will delight and meditate in Your Word day and night. We declare that they will give their bodies as living and holy sacrifices to You, Lord. They will not copy the illicit behavior and customs of this world because they are transformed into new people by the way they think. We confess that every youth who is seeking summer employment will find it because they are surrounded with favor like a shield. Lord, we decree that our children and youth are taught of You and they enjoy great peace. Cause them to walk according to the Holy Spirit and not their flesh. Let the mind of Christ be established in them. Help them to honor and obey their parents, so that things may go well with them and that they will have long life on the earth. Empower our parents and guardians with the knowledge and skill to structure a lifestyle that will compel our children and youth to honor and obey You as their God. Please give our parents and guardians the wisdom, strength, and guidance they need to plan, organize, and implement safe summer activities for their children and youth. Father, bless our families during the summer break with vacations. Please protect us during our times of travel, leisure, and play. Lord, provide the extra income needed for summer activities. Please keep our children and youth protected from idol minds, unwise decisions, ungodly peer pressure, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and untimely death. Holy Spirit, help each student to retain the information that they learned throughout the school year. Father, we ask You to please surround them with Your love; lead and instruct them by Your Holy Spirit, and keep them as the apple of Your eye. 13


Merciful Father, please forgive our children and youth for disobedience and all acts of sinfulness, including gossip, name-calling, bullying, rebellion, stubbornness and disrespect for authority. As parents, forgive us for any abuse or neglect of our children and youth. Forgive those who have been so preoccupied with their own needs that they have failed to have structure in their homes for healthy meals and quality family time. Forgive those who have not always supported their children’s educational needs, trained them to have good manners, or taught them to live a life of truth and integrity. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our children and youth of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. Prayer Topic #5: A Prayer for Favor and Protection for The KBC Kenya Scripture Reading: Psalm 148, Psalm 146:5-9, James 1:27 Reflections of the Heart: The Bible clearly states that we are to care for the widows and orphans among us. As we sow into the lives of the children at The KBC Kenya, we are sowing hope, love, and most importantly, Jesus Christ, into a new generation. Continue to pray for everyone involved with this amazing work. Scriptural Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for The Kingdom Builders’ Children (KBC) Center Kenya. Thank You for Daniel & Andrea Kibe, the volunteers, and staff. Thank You for each child whose life is being divinely transformed through The KBC Kenya. We thank You, Father, for providing food, clothing, and shelter for each child. Thank You for the financial resources for the orphanage. We give thanks to You, Lord, and proclaim Your greatness. As Your grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving and You will receive more and more glory! Redeeming Father, we will let the whole world know what You have done. May the nations praise You, O God. Yes, may all the nations praise You. Worthy Father, as a Church Family, we come before You confessing continual favor, success and protection for The KBC Kenya. Your Word tells us that pure and genuine religion in Your sight means caring for orphans in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt us. As a Church Family, we will assist the poor in their need and the orphans who require help. We command justice to operate for each child in the orphanage and we destroy the assignments of oppression, devastation, and every generational curse. As Your people, we will uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. We decree that the children at the Children Center are being well-cared-for and protected. We declare that the spirit of excellence that was upon Daniel, Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego presides upon each child in the Children Center. In Jesus’ name, we decree that The KBC Kenya is well maintained and managed. We decree that the Kibe’s, the staff, volunteers, and children at The KBC Kenya find shelter under Your wings. You are the wall of protection that surrounds them and no weapon formed against them shall ever prosper. Holy Spirit, touch the hearts of people to continue to give generously of their financial resources to aid in the expansion of the building projects so that more children can be served. Open doors of opportunity for more mission teams to go and serve on the Children Center campus. Lead the people of Kenya who are blessed with skills in construction to volunteer their time and service to the residential housing, agricultural, and library projects. Holy Spirit, touch the heart of the local medical personnel to give of their time and expertise to provide medical services to the children. Send anointed teachers who will inspire each child to fully develop the gifts and talents You have created in each of them. Thank You for moving on the hearts of Your people to establish peace, justice, and righteousness in the earth. Lord, we will praise You with all of our hearts. Your love for us is so very great, we will give glory to Your name forever! Lord, You have rescued us from the depths of death. We will sing of Your unfailing love forever. We will not discriminate against anyone because of their race, their sex, or their age. We will not pay back evil with more evil, but we will always do things in such a way that everyone can see that we are honorable. Lord of Heaven’s Armies, You are our strength and our song; You have given us victory! You are our God and we will praise You. Lord, You are a warrior; Yahweh is Your name. Your right hand is glorious in power and smashes the enemy. O Lord, who is like You among the gods? You are glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, and You perform great wonders. During these years, young people begin to explore and experiment with different things and people as they try to learn who they are. Let’s pray that our youth will allow the Word of God to sculpt and mold them. Scriptural Prayer: Blessed Father, we thank You for our youth. Thank You for having a plan for their lives that is good and not evil, so that they will each have a future and a hope. Thank You for filling each of them with Your precious Holy Spirit to instruct, correct and teach them how to live uprightly before You. Lord, we promise to obey Your words! With all of our hearts, we want Your blessings. Be merciful as You promised. We will ponder the direction of our lives and turn to follow Your laws. We will hurry, without delay, to obey Your commands. Lord, we are friends with anyone who fears You, anyone who obeys Your commandments. Your unfailing love, O Lord, fills the earth; teach us Your decrees. Sovereign King, we confess that our youth will truly understand that their bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit. Help our youth to make Godly choices. Convict them when they watch, read, listen to and visit internet sites that are ungodly. Surround them with strong Christian friends who will support them and hold them accountable when they are wrong. Lead them to people who love Christ more than culture. Empower 21


our youth to resist peer pressure. Holy Spirit, help our parents to be actively involved in their children’s lives. Help them to create holy, positive, home environments for their children and youth. Merciful Father, forgive our youth for any sexual sin they have participated in including pornography, fornication, homosexuality, and taking inappropriate pictures of themselves. Forgive those who do not value their bodies. Forgive those parents and guardians who have not created holy environments in their homes and lived as models of righteousness and integrity. Forgive those single parents who are not living celibate lives. Forgive those parents who allow their boyfriends and girlfriends to spend the night in the home where their children live. Forgive those married parents who are engaged in extramarital affairs. Forgive those parents who are involved with pornography and have made pornographic material accessible to their children and youth. Forgive us, as the Body of Christ, for turning a blind eye to what our children and youth are doing. Forgive us for not openly discussing sexual purity with our youth. Thank You for giving us the power of the Holy Spirit which is greater than any power that exists in this world. Thank You for never giving up on us, even when we fail time after time. You are so merciful and kind. We cannot live without You, Lord. We will praise You with our whole hearts. We will tell of the marvelous things You have done. We are filled with joy because of You, Most High, and we sing praises to Your name! We know You to be a shelter for us when we are oppressed and troubled. You never abandon those who search for You. I choose to get ready for my new life as a king!" ~ Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell Scriptural Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our provider. Thank You for giving us Your Word on how to make our way prosperous and successful. Father, thank You for surrounding us with Your favor like a shield as we do business in our public and private lives. Thank You for continuing to open doors of opportunity. Thank You, Father, for Your Word to use as our economic strong tower during these trying financial times. We praise You with all of our hearts; we will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. Your reign is forever. You execute judgment from Your throne. You judge the world with justice and the people righteously. Lord, You are a shelter for the oppressed and a refuge in times of trouble. We trust in You because we know Your name; we know that You do not abandon those who search for You. Father, Your righteousness reaches to the highest heavens. You have done wonderful things! Who can compare with You? Glorious Father, we declare that we are blessed because we fear You, and delight in obeying Your commands. We believe that Your plans for our finances are for good and not for disaster, to give us a prosperous future and a hope. As we are willing and obedient, according to Your Word, we will have plenty to eat. We will trust in You because we know that Your Word is truth. We confess that our confidence is in You and not in our jobs, our investments, our bank accounts or ourselves. We commit to seeking Your kingdom first above all things and living righteously and we know that You will give us everything we need. We rebuke old mindsets, habits, and behavior patterns that have created lack and poverty. In the name of Jesus, we stand united against thoughts of failure, defeat, and mediocrity. According to Your Word, we confess that we will be wealthy and our good deeds will last forever. Lead them to someone who can help them to manage their finances better. As we receive increases in our finances, help us, Holy Spirit, to remember that You are the One who provides abundance. Please help us to not hoard Your financial blessings. Your Word says that when we help the poor, we are lending to the Lord and He will repay our generosity. So please, Holy Spirit, remind us to be generous and to look for opportunities to be a financial blessing to someone else in need. Teach us Your way to love people and to use money, rather than the devil’s way of loving money and using people. Merciful Father, forgive us for all acts of sin including idolatry, greed, stinginess, self-centeredness, arrogance, pride, stubbornness, financial disobedience and any other act of unrighteousness. Forgive those of us who continue to participate in the downward spiral of financial mismanagement. Forgive those of us who, whether in ignorance or in rebellion, fail to develop financial plans that include tithing, debt reduction, savings and investments. Forgive us for living beyond our means and misusing credit 29


cards. Father, forgive those members of the Body of Christ who do not pay their tithes and help them to get on track and begin to tithe. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Prayer Topic #13: A Prayer Regarding Racism in the United States Scripture Reading: Psalms 34:1-22; Deuteronomy 10:17 Reflections of the Heart: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” United States Declaration of Independence Scriptural Prayer: Magnificent Father, Creator of heaven and earth and everything therein, we praise You, and love You. Lord, we thank You for allowing us to live in the United States of America, a nation where we can freely worship You. We thank You that we are also free to lift our voices in protest as we deal with systemic racism, injustice, and police oppression. We are thankful that people from all races and walks of life are now uniting and making their voices heard for the cause of justice and righteousness. We thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ, who walked the earth and gave us an example of how to treat one another as He ministered to disadvantaged people and met their needs. Heavenly Father, You created human beings in Your own image, male and female. And, Lord Jesus, You instructed that the most important commandment is that we love the Lord, our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength. A second commandment is equally important: that we love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Despite Your commands, a segment of the U.S. population has vigorously held onto positions of power and privilege through systemic racism. America has created and selectively enforced laws to oppress Black people and other people of color. Our government and judicial systems have also routinely supported the use of excessive force by police, especially against Black people, in “protecting” the privileged. The current gap in policing practices is so wide that while members of the White population feel comfort and security when they see police, Black citizens often experience fear and dread. Even people who profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior have supported racism in America as systemic injustice protected their power and privilege. Lord, we stand on Your Word as we pull down the strongholds in the hearts and minds of government officials, law enforcement and citizens who believe they are entitled to reign over segments of people in Your creation. Father, Your Word says there is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For we all are one in Christ Jesus. So, we pull down the demonic strongholds in the minds of those who consider themselves privileged and entitled, and we declare that all members of the Body of Christ will love their neighbors as they love themselves. Father, cleanse the people of the United States from the sin of racism, so we can show sincere love to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. Holy Spirit, we also ask that You stir leaders in the Body of Christ so that Your church takes on a prominent role in promoting changes that elevate justice and righteousness for all citizens in this country. Help our national and local governmental, business and pastoral leaders not to be wise in their own eyes, but to seek Your wisdom and allow You to direct their paths as they create sweeping reforms that will dismantle systemic racism and police brutality. Holy Spirit, we thank You for the police who protect our communities every day. Please keep them safe and identify those few officers who cause harm to our communities. Protect protestors who are risking their health and freedom for the cause of justice and righteousness for Black people and all who are oppressed. Father, we pray that You will spur the Body of Christ to lead in demonstrating Your love, as our nation works to identify and replace racism and oppression with Your justice and righteousness. 31

Holy Father, forgive our nation for showing partiality in the administration of our laws. Forgive our citizens for taking our constitutional freedoms for granted. Forgive our governmental leaders for abusing and misusing the laws of this land to suit their own personal interests, agendas, and needs. Forgive our leaders and citizens for embracing partisan politics above Your Holy Word. Forgive us, as a nation, for not always acknowledging You and Your righteousness. Forgive us for not respecting those whom You have placed in authority to lead our nation. Forgive our nation’s leaders for their sins. Forgive those who do not consult with You about governing our country. Forgive the Body of Christ for treating Your Word as if parts of it are optional, that we can pick and choose which scriptures apply to us. Prayer Topic #14 A Prayer for Shooting Victims and Survivors Scripture Reading: Psalm 65:1-5, Hebrews 4:14-16 Reflections of the Heart: There have been over 200 mass shootings, in which four or more people were injured or killed, in 2023 so far. Unfortunately, mass shootings have become a part of American life. As believers, let’s take authority over the demonic and political powers behind gun violence and pray for victims and survivors. Scriptural Prayer: Holy Father, we thank You for Your loving care during this season. Thank You for the power of Your love that has shown up through the outpouring of compassion toward people. Thank You, Father, for blessing those who trust in You, who have made You their hope and confidence. Gracious Father, we praise You with all of our hearts. You merely spoke and the heavens were created. You breathed the word and all of the stars were born. Your plans stand firm forever and Your intentions can never be shaken. You are an awesome God! Loving Father, our country is overwhelmed by the numerous mass shootings with many killed and numerous who have been wounded. Today, we cry out for the families of the people who have died. We declare that You, alone, are their refuge and place of safety. You are their God, and they can trust in You. The name of the Lord is a strong fortress and those who run to You will find spiritual and emotional protection. Lord, You have not given the families in Texas, New York, California, Georgia, Illinois, or Colorado, just to name a few, a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. As they trust in You and keep their thoughts fixed on You, we declare that every community will be kept in Your perfect peace. We declare that no weapon formed against Your people will succeed, and we silence every voice that has risen against us. Father, please help those who have been hospitalized to heal from their wounds both physically and emotionally. Holy Spirit, encourage those who remain fearful to seek and accept professional counseling, so they can get the help needed. As the accused face the consequences of their crimes, lead their path toward mental healing and draw them to salvation and repentance. Forgiving Father, forgive the unsaved for not acknowledging You or Your Son. Forgive them for living in disobedience, hatred, rebellion, idolatry, greed, racism, adultery, fornication, injustice, and violence. Please let Your mercy and grace abound towards them. Forgive those people who are mean to people who do not look like them. Forgive those accused of committing these crimes across our country. Prayer Topic #15: A Prayer Concerning the Weather in the Greater Houston Area Scripture Reading: Psalm 115, I Kings 18:41-46 Reflections of the Heart: In Mark 4:35-39, Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with His head on a cushion. Fearful, His disciples woke Him because of the raging storm in the Sea of Galilee. Jesus awoke, rebuked the storm, and the storm ceased. Be assured that when Jesus is on board, the weather will listen. Scriptural Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the favor and mercy You have shown the Greater Houston Area over the years. Thank You for blessing our city with abundance, peace, and security. We thank You that last year was a quiet, peaceful hurricane season in our area. You are a great and merciful Father. We know Your greatness, Lord, that You are greater than any other god. You do whatever pleases You throughout all heaven and earth, on the seas, and in the depths. You cause the clouds to rise over the whole earth. You send the lightning with the rain and release the wind from your storehouses. Lord, Your name endures forever, Your fame is known to every generation. Worthy Father, with the start of hurricane season, we operate in the authority and power given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ and we command peace to be still in the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. We know that faith is the confidence that what we hope for will happen; it’s the assurance about things we cannot see. Therefore, by faith, we confess that the sea surface temperature in the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico will not rise above 80 degrees. We confess that the wind shear in the Atlantic will cut any storms off in the development stage and hinder vertical rings of clouds from forming. We confess that the barometric pressure and air density will not drop to a level that would allow violent storm and hurricane disturbances. We declare calm weather for the Houston Metropolitan Area and the Gulf Coast region during hurricane season. We decree that we will receive the right amount of rain to keep the ground moist and the vegetation well-watered, but not too much to cause flooding. By faith, we declare that our weather will be a perfect balance of sunshine, rain, and moderate temperatures. Lord, please restore the residents who are still trying to recover from the previous years of drought and dry conditions. Remind us all to be good stewards over our water resources. Faithful Father, forgive the residents of our city for all acts of sinfulness that would cause the weather to respond in a harmful way. Forgive us for not believing that all things are possible through Jesus Christ who strengthens us. Forgive us for walking in doubt, unbelief, arrogance, and pride.
