THE FALL FEASTS SUMMARY

Life...In His Presence

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 16:11 NKJV

The Fall Feasts consist of three festivals: The Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, and
The Feast of Tabernacles. These feasts are extremely important because they teach us to honor
God for who He is and for what He has done for us. In addition, they teach us about God’s plan
for humankind and how He powerfully intervenes in human affairs! Revelation 21:3 says
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be
His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.” During the Fall Feast season, we
are expecting God to tabernacle with us. This year, our Fall Feasts theme is Life...In His
Presence.

THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS

The Feast of Trumpets, also known as Rosh Hashanah, celebrates the new year in Christ. It is
believed that God created the world during this time. On this day, a shofar or trumpet is blown
to mark the beginning of ten days called the “High Holy Days” or “Days of Awe.” The blowing of
the trumpet serves as a “wake-up” call to honor God as King, to remember His goodness and
His faithfulness to His people, and to reveal and awaken the conscience and soul of His
people. The High Holy Days consist of 10 days of repentance, reflection, and restoration. This
period ends on the Day of Atonement.

THE DAY OF ATONEMENT

The Day of Atonement is considered the holiest day of the year. Known as the Day of Redemption, this
is the day that believers stand before Almighty God and confess their mistakes and sins. Participating
in this day helps the believer to recognize that sin has been forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ.
As believers confess their sins and recognize their dependence on God, Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross
frees them of all unrighteousness. In Christ, we have a future and a hope!

THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES

The Feast of Tabernacles is the climax of the Fall Feasts and the most celebrative. It is God’s
appointed time for believers to come into His presence and celebrate His glory, provision, protection,
and deliverance through Jesus Christ. Leviticus 23:40 says to “Rejoice before the Lord your God for
seven days.” Deuteronomy 16:14-15 says to “Be joyful at your Feast for the Lord your God will bless
you and your joy will be complete.” We will celebrate with singing, dancing, and great food. Mark your
calendar to be a part of this exciting time.

The Feast of Tabernacles (aka Sukkot—soo-COAT) begins at sundown on Sunday, October 9th

God’s Days of Rest
As our Church Family prepares to celebrate the Fall Feasts, consider scheduling the following
days off from work. In Leviticus 23, God instructs the Israelites to “do no customary work” on
specific days associated with the feasts. “No customary work” basically means to take the day
off from work. The Lord understands if you have towork, but if you can, take the day off enjoy
the Lord and your family.

“No Customary Work” Days
Remember all Holy days begin at sundown the evening before the calendar day listed.
(Example: The Feast of Trumpets begins at sundown on Sunday, September 25th).

Monday, September 26th Feast of Trumpets

Wednesday, October 5th Day of Atonement

Monday, October 10th Feast of Tabernacles (Day 1)

FASTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADULTS

I. What is a Fast?

The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” The Greek word for fasting means
“not to eat.” Simply put, fasting means to abstain from food. Fasting involves turning away
from foods that the body craves in order for our spirit to concentrate on God in worship,
service, and praise.

Fasting has been a part of Christianity through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural
sacrifice. Fasting does not change or impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting,
Christians are empowered to discipline their daily relationship with the Lord.

The fast will consist of abstaining from food. In other words, you are fasting if you are not
eating food. The primary method of fasting will be one (1) meal each day.

II. Why Should We Fast?

John Wesley, the original organizer of the Methodist Movement, fasted. In fact, he fasted
twice a week. More importantly, Jesus Christ fasted! We fast as a Church Family because
God’s blessings reside in our unity. This special time encourages us to be “like-minded,
having the same love and being of one accord and of one mind” (Philippians 2:1-3).

III. Who Should Fast?

Prayerfully, each member will participate in the Church Family Spiritual Fast. Please
consult your physician about your fasting if: (1) you are pregnant; (2) you are on
prescribed medication; (3) you are under a doctor’s care; (4) you have experienced illness
on a previous fast; (5) or you do not normally eat anyway.

YOUR PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THIS FAST! FOLLOW
YOUR PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS!!!

IV. Why Fast?

The benefits include:

1. Having a closer relationship with God, our Father, who created us;
2. Focusing you on Jesus, the Supply, and Supplier of your benefits and blessings;
3. Becoming more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit;
4. Presenting the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord;
5. Intensifying your prayer life;
6. Aiding in removing unbelief;
7. Breaking yokes of bondage;
8. Sharpening your intellect, skill, discernment, and understanding;
9. Aiding in clarity of spiritual hearing when guidance or a decision is needed from

the Holy Spirit;
10. Hastening emotional, spiritual, financial, and physical healing for both

individuals and the community;
11. Fostering personal discipline that will help to reduce impulsive fleshly urges that

do notalign with Scripture; and,
12. Demonstrating (to yourself) an act of scriptural obedience.

9

How to Fast

The primary method of fasting for the Church Family Spiritual Fast will be one (1)
meal each day eaten after 6:00 p.m. Meals should be completed within 75 minutes
from the moment you put food into your mouth.

Fasting Options include:

13. “Veterans” - Veterans are those members who have participated in the Church
Family Spiritual Fast two or more times.

14. “First Round Draft Choices” - (First Rounders are those persons who have
never fasted or have only participated in a Church Spiritual Fast one time.)
First Rounders will eat two (2) meals per day, one at breakfast before 8:00 a.m.
and one after 6:00 p.m.Be consistent; eat the breakfast meal at a routine hour.
Complete your meals within 75 minutes from the moment you put food into your
mouth. Please pray the daily prayer topic during the time of the skipped meal
(lunch meal) and during your regular prayer time for the day.

15. “Special Teams” consist of persons who are under a doctor’s care, pregnant, or
unableto miss a meal for health reasons. Special Teams should eat regularly
scheduled meals.Participation in the Church Family Spiritual Fast will consist of
abstaining from foods suchas sweets, carbonated beverages, breads, meats, or
any food that you feel “you must have at least a little of every day.”

It is important for the Church Family to be of one mind and heart. Please fast
in accordance with the above-listed instructions. Fasts such as a “cleansing
fast,”“grapefruit fast,” and others are not appropriate during this special
time.

V. Requirements for Fasting
1. No nibbling! If you feel hungry (that’s expected and normal), drink water and pray.

2. No sweets (including sweeteners), chips, candy, chewing gum, soft drinks, or
any other junk food should be eaten at any time during the fast by Veterans,
FirstRounders, or Special Teams.

3. If you experience headaches, fatigue or weakness, faint feelings, nausea, fever,
and/or extreme hunger, eat a piece of fruit, slice of bread, crackers, or vegetables
(preferably raw). Consult your physician if these feelings persist.

4. Water only! Please restrict your liquid intake to water. No sodas, juices, fruit juices,
lemon water, or flavored water. If you are fasting no food, please drink at least 64oz
– 80oz of water each day. Raw vegetable juices are permitted if you are fasting no
food.

5. If you experience “blackouts” while exerting energy, please eat a light, nutritionally
balanced meal.

6. If you are eating once a day, it is recommended that you do not exercise during the fast.
7. As I Corinthians 7:5 tells us, no lovemaking for married folk! (Single Christians are

already abstaining.) Both spouses should agree to the fast as a sacrifice of
consecration to the Lord. If one of the spouses is not in agreement with I Corinthians
7:5, then do not abstain. There must be agreement between marital partners.
8. Individual prayer times for each day are 6:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m. If your schedule
does not allow for these hours, please adjust your schedule to include a morning
prayer time and an evening prayer time.
9. If you “fall off” the fast, get back on. Do not allow the devil to condemn you. Ask your
covenant partner (see Covenant Partnering on page 45) for help.

10

VI. What Are We Praying About During the Fast?
This Power Guide contains the prayers that we will pray during the fast and Fall Feasts.
Pleasepray each prayer on the appropriate day as designated by the Prayer Topic
Calendar.

VII. How Can We Be a Blessing While Fasting?
In Isaiah 58:6-2, the Lord explains that an acceptable fast to Him includes feeding and
clothing those in need. In addition to praying, you can bless others by using some of the
money you would spend on eating out or buying groceries to provide food and clothing
for others. See details on the Promise of Giving on page 46.

XII. You Can Fast in Jesus’ Name!

11

While fasting, keep your countenance positive. Matthew 6:16-18 tells us not to
“advertise our fasting.” Keep your fasting a secret. Be sensible and do your best. God
does not smile upon “super fasters.” Expect God to be AWESOME and to do
AWESOME things through you and the Church Family.
God bless you!

Fasting Instructions for Children and Youth

God gives us pastors according to His heart who will feed us with knowledge and understanding
(Jeremiah 3:15). We must obey our pastors for they watch over our souls (Hebrews 13:17).
Parents should teach and guide by their example the importance of following the leadership of our
pastors. When Pastor Caldwell proclaims the fast, children and youth are capable of obeying and
participating.
Parents, please prayerfully consider including your children and youth in the Church Family Spiritual
Fast. It will be a blessed experience for them, and it will begin to lay a foundation for their future. Your
support and encouragement are recommended to maximize your child’s success.

I. What is a Fast?

The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” Fasting has been a part of Christianity
through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural sacrifice. Fasting does not change or
impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting, Christians are empowered to discipline their
daily relationship with the Lord.

II. Why Should Children and Youth Fast?

• To have a closer relationship with God our Father and Jesus Christ;
• To become more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit;
• To present the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord; and
• To build your prayer life.

As children and youth fast, they, too, will receive the benefits and blessings of obedience and
fasting.

III. How to Fast

• Eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Eat healthy vegetables, fruits, meats, breads, milk, and cereal.
• Eat a healthy snack between meals such as fruit, vegetables, etc.
• Drink WATER, 100% JUICE, and MILK as the only beverages.

NO SWEETS, PIZZA, FRENCH FRIES, CHIPS, CANDY, CHEWING GUM, SOFT DRINKS,
OR ANY OTHER JUNK FOODS!

V. What Are We Praying About During the Fast?
Please help your child (ren) pray each prayer on the appropriate day as designated by the
Prayer Topic Calendar.

13

COVENANT PARTNERING

Ecclesiastes 4:12 states, “Though one may be empowered by another, two can withstand
him. And a threefold cord is not easily broken.”

It is highly recommended that you choose a Covenant Partner. This person will pray with you,
encourage you, and remind you of God’s faithfulness. Choose someone whowill walk with you
throughout the duration of the fast.

Remember, your most important Covenant Partners are God our Father, Jesus Christ and the
Holy Spirit. As One, trust them to help and strengthen you and your Covenant Partner(s) during
the Church Family Fast.

Guidelines for Covenant Partnering

· Guidelines for choosing Covenant Partners are as follows:

• Married couples’ partner with married couples;
• Single women partner with single women; and
• Single men partner with single men.

· Be sure to exchange telephone numbers or e-mail addresses.

· During the fast, please communicate, pray, encourage and hold each
other accountable.

THE PROMISE OF GIVING

The Promise of Giving is designed to encourage giving while fasting. In Isaiah 58:6-12, the Lord
explains that an acceptable fast to Him includes feeding and clothing those who are in need,
restoringbroken relationships with family, and sharing with strangers. During this fast, you are
encouraged to use some of the money that you would spend on groceries and eating out for
providing food and clothingto others.

HOW TO USE THE POWER GUIDE

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And
if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

I John 5:14-15

The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based on the
model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13).

In order to maximize the use of your guide, please follow the listed instructions.

1. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s). Gradually

build your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes each day. You can split
up your prayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the morning and evening. You choose
the time of day that is good for you. Find a comfortable place to pray and turn off any distractions. If
you have small children who need most of your attention, pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s
Word saturate their hearing.

2. Refer to the Prayer Topic Calendar on page f16 or the specific prayer for the day. Only pray for

the prayer topic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying. Please do not
get ahead of the prayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,” first read the Scriptures
listed for “Scripture Reading.”

3. Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents, please

encourage your children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out loud. Youth
(ages 13-17) may use the Adult Power Guide.

4. These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful conversations. Trust

the Holy Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are praying for the day. If you speak
in tongues, please pray in tongues over each prayer topic. Relax, listen and enjoy the Lord.

5. Record any reflections, revelations, or inspiration given by the Holy Spirit in the Prayer Expectation

section at the end of the Power Guide.

6. Believe that the Lord is hearing your prayer and know in your heart that your praying will produce

God’s results for the prayer topic you are praying for.

7. After praying, make your daily power confession by using the Daily Power Confessions located on

page 56 in the back of your Power Guide. When you speak God’s Word over your life, you activate
the power of His Word to work in your life and produce God’s results for your life. Expect God’s
Word to transform your life. I also recommend that you speak the Power Confessions over your
family.

8. All members are asked to attend all the Fall Feast Celebrations with your family and friends.

9. Enjoy your time spent with the Lord and thank you for helping to implement God’s plans for our Church

Family.
God Bless You!
WV Leadership Team

Prayer Topic #1:
A Declaration for the Weather in the Greater Houston Area

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 115, James 5:17-18

Reflections of the Heart:
In Mark 4:35-39, Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with His head on a cushion. Fearful, His
disciples woke Him because of the raging storm in the Sea of Galilee. Jesus awoke, rebuked the storm
and the storm ceased. Be assured that when Jesus is on board, the weather will listen.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the favor and mercy You have shown the Greater Houston Area over
the years. Thank You for blessing our city with abundance, peace, and security. We thank You for a
quiet and peaceful hurricane season in our area this year. You are a great and merciful Father. We
know Your greatness Lord, that You are greater than any other god. You do whatever pleases You
throughout all heaven and earth, on the seas and in the depths. You cause the clouds to rise over the
whole earth. You send the lightning with the rain and release the wind from your storehouses. Lord,
Your Name endures forever, your fame is known to every generation.

Worthy Father, during this hurricane season, we will continue to operate in the authority and power
given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ and we command peace to be still in the Atlantic Ocean and the
Gulf of Mexico. We know that faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it’s the
assurance about things we cannot see. Therefore, by faith, we confess that the sea surface temperature
in the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico will not rise above 80 degrees. We decree that the wind
shear in the Atlantic will cut any storms off in the development stage and hinder vertical rings of clouds
from forming. We confess that the barometric pressure and air density will not drop to a level that would
allow violent storm and hurricane disturbances. We declare calm weather for the Greater Houston Area
and the Gulf Coast region during hurricane season. We will receive the right amount of rain to keep the
ground moist and the vegetation well-watered, but not too much to cause flooding. By faith, we declare
that our weather will be a perfect balance of sunshine, rain, and moderate temperatures.

Holy Spirit, help each believer to walk in boldness and authority and expect the weather to be calm as
we decree Your Word over the weather situation. Lord Jesus, You said we could ask anything in Your
Name, so we ask You to touch the hearts of believers throughout this region to decree Your Word
concerning the weather. Holy Spirit, please help the residents in the Greater Houston Area and
surrounding areas who are still trying to recover from previous storms. Remind us all to be good
stewards over our water resources.

Ask the Holy Spirit how you should intercede for the weather patterns as they develop:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Faithful Father, forgive the residents of our city for all acts of sinfulness that would cause the weather
to respond in a harmful way. Forgive us for not believing that all things are possible through Jesus
Christ who strengthens us. Forgive us for walking in doubt, unbelief, arrogance, and pride. Lord, forgive
me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive

19

and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to
forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may
need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to
heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Majestic Lord, You are the blessed and only Sovereign One. You are the King of kings and Lord of
lords, who rides across the ancient heavens. O God, You are awesome in Your sanctuary. You are the
God of Israel who gives strength and power to Your people. Blessed are You, forever. In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Prayer Topic #2:
A Prayer of Protection for the United States of America

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 108:1-5, Psalm 108:6-13

Reflections of the Heart:
The United States of America is considered a great and powerful nation. As awesome as this sounds,
let us put our trust in God alone. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord and the people whom
He has chosen for His own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12

Scriptural Prayer:

Holy Father, we thank You for blessing our country. Thank You for honoring our prayers as a nation
and extending Your mercy toward us. Thank You for protecting our borders. Your Word is true, and we
can trust everything that You do. You love whatever is just and good. Your unfailing love fills the earth.
You merely spoke and the heavens were created; You breathed the Word and all of the stars were
born. You assigned boundaries to the seas and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let the whole
world fear You and let everyone stand in awe of You! How great is the goodness that You have stored
up for those who fear You. You lavish it on those who come to You for protection, blessing them before
the watching world.

Triumphant Father, You are the light and salvation for the United States, so we shall not be afraid. You
are our fortress, protecting our borders from danger, so we shall not tremble. It is You, Almighty King,
who causes the enemies of this nation to stumble and fall. God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, we
decree that Your very name keeps us safe from all harm. As we trust in You, Your Word declares that
this nation will not be disgraced, nor will You allow our enemies to rejoice in our defeat. Father, we
confess that we are a nation that acknowledges Jesus Christ as Your Son. We admit that although we
are a pluralistic society that confesses many gods, there is a remnant that trusts only in You. We come
praying for President Biden and his administration, our local, state, and national leaders, so that we,
the citizens of the United States of America, can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and
dignity. We declare that our leaders will hear and act upon the voice of the Holy Spirit. Some nations
boast of their chariots and horses, their armies and weapons, but we, the United States, will always
boast in the name of the Lord our God. We decree that the United States will rise up and stand firm in
Jesus’ name. We confess that our enemies will stay far away from our borders. We will live in peace
and terror will not come near us. Any nation that comes to attack and fight will go down in defeat. We
decree that no weapon formed against us will succeed. We declare Your Word in faith.

I pray for God’s divine intervention in the following areas for our nation:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Almighty Father, continue to pour out Your Holy Spirit on our nation and please do not turn Your face
away from us. Cause Your peace to dwell in our nation. At this time in our history, there are many
reasons why we don’t deserve Your love and blessings. Please, continue to extend Your grace and
mercy. We ask You to help our city, state, and national leaders as they lead in our city, state, and

21

nation. As their lives please You, Your Word declares that their enemies will be at peace with them.
Increase their wisdom, knowledge, confidence, and peace. Guide all of our local, state, and national
leaders. Holy Spirit, please reveal and expose every evil plot, plan, and strategy that have been devised
against this nation both internally and externally. Remove the covering from every sleeper cell within
our nation and cause their plans of devastation and destruction to fail. Implore the body of Christ to not
grow lazy and complacent in praying for our nation, but to remain diligent on the wall of prayer. Please
strengthen and grant wisdom to our military leaders as they strategize and execute their military tactics.
Help the family of every military personnel who is currently in active duty.

Loving Father, forgive us as a nation for our many sins. We stand humbly before You and admit that
our country is filled with sin. We do not deserve Your love and favor. Forgive us for promoting sin and
using a variety of mediums to entice and lure people from Your Godliness and righteousness. Forgive
our leadership (local, state, and national) for their bickering and infighting. Forgive us for speaking out
on some sin and remaining silent about other sin. To You, we know that sin is sin and You expect us
to speak out against all sin. Father, we admit that we, Your church, operate in forms of godliness, but
consistently deny the power of Your Holy Spirit. Righteous Father, have mercy upon us. Father, forgive
me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our nation of those we need to
forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need
to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you
may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord
to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help the citizens of our nation not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

You are the Lord, our God, and there is no other. No one is holy like You. There is no one besides You.
There is no Rock like You, our God. Lord, You are the King of kings and Lord of lords. You rule and
reign forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #3:

A Prayer for Our Educators and Students

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 111, Daniel 1

Reflections of the Heart:
Who was your favorite teacher? Who was your best friend in school? Most people rarely forget the
teachers and friends who had profound impacts on their lives, whether positive or negative. The right
experiences can encourage students to strive for excellence or settle for mediocrity. So, let us pray for
our educators and students.

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, we praise and thank You for our educators and students. Thank You for each school and
school district. Thank You for surrounding each educator and student with favor like a shield. We exalt
You, our God and King and praise Your Name forever and ever. We will praise You every day and
forever. Lord You are great and most worthy of praise; no one can measure Your greatness. Each
generation will tell its children of Your mighty acts and proclaim Your power. Your unfailing love, O
Lord, is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is
like the mighty mountains and Your justice like the ocean depths. Father, we come clapping our hands
and shouting to You with joyful praise. You are the Lord, Most High, and You are awesome! You are
the great King of all the earth.

Triumphant Father, we confess that like Jesus, our students will grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with
You and all people. We declare that they will focus on their studies during the school term and not grow
distracted or complacent. Each student will work willingly in their classes as though they were working
for You. Lord, we declare that no evil will conquer them, nor will any disease come near their classrooms
or homes, as they wear masks, wash hands often, and social distance. We expect for You to order
Your angels to protect both teachers and students wherever they go. We decree that the wisdom of
God will enter and rule in their hearts. We confess that they will respect and obey the instructions of
their parents, teachers, and school administrators. We declare that the wise instruction of the teachers
will be like a life-giving fountain to each student. In Jesus’ name, each parent will direct their children
onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Our students will have good success
because they will meditate daily and obey Your Word.

I thank God for the following educators and students:
________________________________________________________________________________

________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, impart into our students Your spirit of excellence, like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-
Nego. Bless our educators for their service to the Houston and surrounding communities. Help them to
remain committed to their educational “calling.” Keep them safe in their classrooms and lead and guide
them as they teach. Grant each teacher wisdom, creativity, and grace to teach each child according to
his or her needs, level of intelligence, and learning capabilities. Increase the wisdom and understanding
of each parent on how to partner with the schools to achieve success in their student’s education. Bless

23

the homes of each student to be a place of love, peace, and support. We ask You to increase the
capacity of the students who return to in-person learning to comprehend and excel in all areas of their
education including reading, mathematics, sciences, arts, and all required testing. Help each student
to develop Godly friendships this school year. Holy Spirit, create within each student, teacher, and
administrator an excitement, passion, and academic desire as they enter the new school year.
Merciful Father, forgive the sins of our educators and students (list the specific sins). Forgive those
of us in the body of Christ for being negligent in teaching our students to first reverence You, which is
the foundation of true knowledge. Forgive those parents for sacrificing their students to excessive
television, video games, music, and to the ways and customs of the world. Forgive us, as a nation, for
devaluing the worth of teachers and education. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind our educators and students of those they need to forgive and help
them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.
(Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need
to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal
any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help our educators and students not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil
one.
Great and marvelous are Your actions, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are Your ways, King of the
nations. Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your name? You alone are holy. Your throne, O God,
endures forever and ever. Your royal power is expressed in righteousness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A Prayer of Thanksgiving for the Word of God

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 81:1-8, Nehemiah 8:16-18

Reflections of the Heart:
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, we thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Your love and compassion. Thank You for
keeping Your covenant with us throughout the ages. Thank You for making us Your people. Lord, what
a joy it is to be one of Your children. You are good, and Your faithful love endures forever. You are full
of power and might; we bless Your Holy name. We proclaim Your unfailing love in the morning and
Your faithfulness in the evening. Lord, You are compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled
with unfailing love. Your unfailing love toward those who fear You is as great as the height of the
heavens above the earth. Let the whole world fear You, Lord. Let everyone stand in awe of You.
Almighty God, You are so awesome! Father, You are great and most worthy of praise. We will praise
You at all times and constantly speak of Your praises.

Righteous Father, with grateful hearts we will obey Your commands, walk in Your ways, and fear You.
We are thankful that Your instructions are perfect, reviving our souls. Your decrees are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. Your commandments are right, bringing joy to our hearts. Your commands are
clear, giving insight for living. Revering You is pure, lasting forever. Your laws are true, and each one
is fair. Father, we acknowledge with thanksgiving that Your Word is more desirable than gold, yes, even
the finest gold. Your Word is sweeter than honey dripping from the honeycomb. Your Word warns us
and we expect great reward as we obey it. We declare that as we are willing and obedient to You, we
will eat the good of the land. We will seek Your kingdom above all else, and live righteously, and we
know that You will give us everything we need.

List that which you are grateful for:

Omnipotent Father, please let Your ears be attentive to our prayer. Holy Spirit, show us individually and
collectively where we are consistently missing the mark. Help us to turn from our areas of disobedience
and fully release our whole hearts to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Remind us to continue to encourage
each other and build each other up on a daily basis.

Compassionate Father, forgive us for sins of pride, rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, and
idolatry. Lord, forgive us for half-hearted worship. Forgive us for disrespecting Your Word and treating
You irreverently. Forgive us for when we have not glorified Your name and Your kingdom by our actions
and lifestyles. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind each
of us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my
remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or

faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of
person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Triumphant Lord, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You are the God who is,
and who was, and who is still to come – the Almighty One, El Shaddai. All honor and glory belong to
You, God, forever and ever! You are the eternal King, the unseen One who never dies; You alone are
God. Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #5:
A Prayer of Preparation for Our Church Family Fast

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 117, Isaiah 58

Reflections of the Heart:
Jesus said, “And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look
miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only
reward they will ever get. But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. Then no one will
notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father,
who sees everything, will reward you.” Matthew 6:16-18

Scriptural Prayer:

Blessed Father, we thank You for our Church Family. Thank You for preparing our hearts and minds
for a consecrated season of prayer and fasting. Thank You for coming close to us as we come close to
You. We are grateful that You are our God and we bless Your wonderful name. Heavenly Father, Your
majestic name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. You have taught children and
infants to tell of Your strength, silencing Your enemies and all who oppose You. With all our hearts, we
will praise You and tell of the marvelous things You have done. We will sing praises to Your name, Lord
Most High. Lord, You are in Your Holy Temple; You still rule from heaven. You closely watch everyone,
examining every person on the earth.

Gracious Father, we confess that we will enter into a season of fasting as a united Church Family. We
will give our bodies to You because of all You have done for us. We will let them be living and holy
sacrifices—the kind that You will find acceptable. For we know that this is truly how we can worship
You. We will not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but we will let You, Father, transform us
into new people by changing the way we think. Then, we will learn to know Your will for our lives, which
is good and pleasing and perfect. Lord, we decree that Your chosen fast will be operable in our lives
through the Promise of Giving as we feed the hungry and help those in trouble. As we do this, we
expect that our light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around us will be as bright as
noon. Father, we will be diligent in prayer without ceasing during the fast. We will meditate on Your
Word day and night, and observe to do all that is within it.

Specifically, I will prepare for the Church Family Fast by:

Holy Spirit, help us to follow You and the instructions given during our Church Family Fast. As we pray
during the fast, Father, please speak to us and give us wisdom, increase our discernment, and show
us Your plans for our lives individually as well as corporately. Touch the hearts of all members to
participate in the fast. Lord, as we pray, please hear our prayers. Holy Spirit, teach us how to honor
Jesus Christ, our Savior and to revere God, our Father, as we worship Him in spirit and in truth.

27

Righteous Father, forgive us as a Church Family for our sins, including stubbornness, selfishness
and/or rebellion. Please help us all to submit to this time of fasting and to trust You. Lord, forgive me
for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and
help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.

Holy Lord, You alone are God. You are great! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed
in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens. You lay the rafters of Your home in
the rain clouds. You make the clouds Your chariot and ride upon the wings of the wind. The Lord of

Prayer Topic #6:
A Prayer for the Feasts of Trumpets

Scripture Reading:
Jeremiah 16:19-21, Colossians 1:15-23

Reflections of the Heart:
The Feast of Trumpets initiates the beginning of the Father’s Cycle of Redemption with a “wake up call”
to all His children. In ancient times, this was done with the loud blowing of the shofar. But now, it is
done through the Holy Spirit’s prompting inside us to look within and examine our ways. Let’s thank
God for the opportunity to release our sins and start fresh!

Scriptural Prayer:

Holy Father, we thank You for bringing us through the journey of the past year. We thank You for giving
us a hope and a future. Thank You for redeeming our souls through the Blood of Jesus. Thank You for
new beginnings and Your redemptive power at work in us through the Holy Spirit. Together, as a Church
Family, we rejoice in the celebration of the Feast of Trumpets. Be exalted, O God, above the highest
heavens! May Your glory shine over all the earth. Our hearts are confident in You, Father. No wonder
we can sing Your praises! We will thank You, Lord, among all the people. We will sing Your praises
among the nations, for Your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the
clouds.

Majestic Father, we are grateful to enter into this season humbly and soberly. We understand that only
those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols, and who never tell lies, can stand
in Your holy presence. We thank You for making us holy, blameless, and above reproach through Jesus
Christ. It is through His blood, our hearts are made pure and our hands are made clean. Therefore, we
decree that our Church Family stands together in deep appreciation for the gift of Your grace. We know
that our righteousness was not secured by the good things we’ve done. We cannot boast or take any
credit, Jesus, You are the source of our redemption. We will use this time during this season to examine
ourselves to see if our faith is genuine. As part of the Feast of Trumpets, You have directed us to
reconcile with persons who may have wronged us during the past year. We commit to mending our
relationships. Father, You have begun a good work in us and we are confident that You will complete
it until the day of Jesus Christ.

As I review the past year (Sept. 2021 - Sept. 2022), I am thankful for:

29

Holy Spirit, lead those within our Church Family who still do not celebrate the feasts into a deeper
revelation of the blessing in obeying the Father’s commandments. Remind us all of the Lord’s goodness
and faithfulness to us and to our families throughout the past year. While we observe the Feast of
Trumpets, alert us to anything that may be keeping us from experiencing true intimacy with You. Teach
us to search for the Lord and for His strength; to continually seek Him. Help us to remember the wonders
He has performed, His miracles, and the rulings He has given. Give us a strong conviction about the
kind of example we are setting for our children as we begin the new year.

Our Father, forgive us, as a Church Family, for our past sins. Forgive us for offering sacrifices, rather
than obedience. Forgive those who continue to hold onto grudges and past offenses by refusing to
reconcile and move on with their lives. Please forgive the Body of Christ for rejecting Your Feasts during
the early centuries of the Christian faith. Forgive us for not acknowledging You in all our ways and for
leaning to our own understanding. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy
Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. We will not take past
offenses into the new year. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.
(Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need
to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person (s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal
any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, You are great and most worthy of praise! You are to be feared above all gods. The
gods of other nations are mere idols, but You made the heavens. Honor and majesty surround You.
Strength and joy fill Your dwelling. Let the whole world fear You and let everyone stand in awe of You.
In Jesus’ name, amen.

There are seasons when the Lord asks us to turn away from food and carnal pleasures and focus our
full attention on Him and His kingdom. Therefore, today at 6:00 p.m., as a Church Family, we will begin

Prayer Topic #8:
A Prayer of Repentance and Self-Examination

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 98, Matthew 9:1-13

Reflections of the Heart:
“Explore thyself. Herein are demanded the eye and the nerve.” ~ Henry David Thoreau

Scriptural Prayer:

Generous Father, we thank You for providing a special time for us to examine our lives and repent.
Thank You for saving us and giving us eternal life. Thank You for thinking thoughts of peace towards
us. Thank You for designing a future for us that is full of hope, good and not evil. You are our refuge
and strength. You are always ready to help in times of trouble. We do not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the ocean roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as
the waters surge. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us; and God of Israel is our fortress.
You are a God of righteousness and justice.

Heavenly Father, Your Word says that those who stand in Your presence must have clean hands and
a pure heart. We cannot worship idols or speak lies. During this season of repentance and self-
reflection, we take the time to examine ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to show us where we have
sinned. Father, we know that we have sinned and fallen short of Your glory, but You have provided
redemption through Your Son, Jesus, and we gladly receive His sacrifice. We confess that we will not
be like those who steal, murder, commit adultery, lie, and bow to the gods of this world and then run
into Your house declaring that we are safe, only to return to the same evil again. During this time of
repentance, we will be honest with You and ourselves about the condition of our lives. We are a people
who love You wholeheartedly and trust You with our lives. Holy Spirit, as You show us our sins this
week, we will repent and turn away from them. As a Church Family, we choose to discipline our bodies
and minds and bring them into subjection; so that our witness to other people is genuine and we will
not later find ourselves disqualified.

I am not perfect, and I could do better in the following areas of my life:

________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help us to overcome pride and any obstacles that keep us from growing in God. We know
that a heart without God is deceitful above all things, and it is desperately wicked. So, please search
our hearts and test our minds. Create in us a clean heart and renew in us a right spirit. Help us, Holy
Spirit, to release all control to You daily, so that Your fruit will operate in us.

Sin has a foothold in my life. (List those areas). I will take the following action to break sin’s
hold on my life:

Forgiving Father, forgive us collectively and individually for the sins that we have committed against
You. Forgive us for not living as a people who have been set apart for Your good pleasure. Forgive us
for continually running back to sin. Forgive us where we have grown lukewarm in our relationship with
You. Forgive us for fornication, slander, lying, jealousy, murmuring, and complaining. Forgive us for
using our mouths against our brothers and sisters in Christ with gossip, instead of building them up and
people in general. Holy Spirit, shine Your light of revelation upon our hearts and show us the areas in
our lives where we need to repent. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).
Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy
Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows you, say aloud,
“I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Faithful Father, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Lord, You are the only true and living God. You are the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at
Your anger. The nations hide before Your wrath. You merely spoke, and the heavens were created.
You breathed the word, and all the stars were born. Let everyone in the world fear You, Lord, and let
them stand in awe of You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #9:
A Declaration of Kingdom Obedience

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 81:1-8, Deuteronomy 8

Reflections of the Heart:
Jesus said, “If you love me, obey my commandments!” John 14:15

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, we thank You for Your love and compassion. Thank You for keeping Your covenant with
us throughout the ages. Thank You for making us Your people. Lord, You are compassionate and
merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. Your unfailing love toward those who fear You
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. Let the whole world fear You, Lord. Let
everyone stand in awe of You. Almighty God, You are so awesome! Father, You are great and most
worthy of praise. We will praise You at all times and constantly speak of Your praises.

Righteous Father, as a Church Family, we will obey Your commands, walk in Your ways, and fear You.
We confess that Your instructions are perfect, reviving our souls. Your decrees are trustworthy, making
wise the simple. Your commandments are right, bringing joy to our hearts. Your commands are clear,
giving insight for living. Revering You is pure, lasting forever. Your laws are true and each one is fair.
Father, Your Word is more desirable than gold, yes, even the finest gold. Your Word is sweeter than
honey dripping from the honeycomb. Your Word warns us and we expect great reward as we obey it.
We declare that as we are willing and obedient to You, we will eat the good of the land. We will seek
Your Kingdom above all else, and live righteously, and we know that You will give us everything we
need.

Today, I will obey God, Our Father, in the following areas:

________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Omnipotent Father, please let Your ears be attentive to our prayers. Holy Spirit, show us individually
and collectively where we are consistently missing the mark. Help us to turn from our areas of
disobedience and fully release our whole hearts to the leading of the Holy Spirit. As a Church Family,
help us to continue encouraging each other and building each other up on a regular basis.

Compassionate Father, forgive us for sins of pride, rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, and
idolatry. Lord, forgive us for half-hearted worship. Forgive us for at times treating You irreverently.
Forgive us where we have not glorified Your name and Your kingdom by our actions and lifestyles.
Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind each of us of those
we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance
those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people
that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust
the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

35

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Triumphant Lord, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You are the God who is,
and who was, and who is still to come – the Almighty One, El Shaddai. All honor and glory belong to
You, God, forever and ever! You are the eternal King, the unseen One who never dies; You alone are
God. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #10:
A Prayer of Preparation for the Day of Atonement

Scripture Reading:
I Samuel 2:1-2, Psalm 32:1-5

Reflections of the Heart:
Jesus paid the price and bore our sins, so that we could experience oneness with God. No more shame,
guilt, or defilement. So be assured that as we take spiritual inventory, confess, and repent, as we fast,
humble ourselves, and express sorrow, expect that all disgrace, contamination, and uncleanness will
be destroyed. We will be restored to full fellowship with our heavenly Father. Hallel YAH!

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, we thank You for increasing Your presence, power, anointing, and abundance
in our lives during the High Holy Days. We are so thankful for the freedom to worship You, our God,
and for the forgiveness of sin. Thank You, Lord, for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, as the sacrificial
lamb and High Priest who atones for our sins. It is because of Him, we can say, “Abba Father,” and for
this we are grateful. Thank You for this special time of refreshing, repentance, and restoration. Father,
we honor Your name. No pagan god is like You, O Lord; none can do what You do! All the nations You
made will come and bow before You, Lord; they will praise Your holy name. You are great, and perform
wonderful deeds. You alone are God.

Holy Father, let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our lives as we prepare for the Day of
Atonement. We confess that all have sinned and fallen short of Your glorious standard. But, You, in
Your gracious kindness declare us not guilty. You have done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed
us by taking away our sins. You sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy Your
anger against us. We are made right with You when we believe that Jesus shed His blood, sacrificing
His life for us. Lord, we are expecting You to hear us, forgive our sins, and heal our land because as
Your people who are called by Your name, we humble ourselves and pray and seek Your face and turn
from our wicked ways. We will strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily
hinders our progress. We run with endurance the race that You have set before us. We come with the
expectation that all guilt, shame, regret, disgrace, defilement, and dishonor will be eradicated from our
lives because we know that when we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Holy Spirit, I thank You for the following changes in my heart:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, continue to search our hearts and know our thoughts. Point out anything in us that offends
You and lead us along the path of everlasting life. Holy Spirit, help us to admit our sin and guilt and to
come into agreement with the Father about our sin. Bring to our remembrance any past sins which we
may have buried deep down because the thought of them may have been too painful. Help us to deal
with and process any secret sins which we do not want others to know about. Holy Spirit, lead us to
and help us receive God’s forgiveness and restoration. Help us to accept and fully understand God’s

37

love for us and not get stuck in regret and condemnation. Assist us in repentance by helping us to turn
away, walk away, stay away, and to never look back.
Forgiving Father, forgive us for all acts of sin and ungodliness. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that
you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to
forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and
ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He
reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your
soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, as a Church Family, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Lord, You are Holy. You are the blessed and only Almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
You alone can never die, and You live in light so brilliant that no human can approach You. No one has
ever seen You, nor ever will. To You be honor and power forever, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #11:
A Prayer of Remembrance

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 103: 1-5, Hebrews 11:23-39

Reflections of the Heart:
As the Children of Israel were re-building the walls of Jerusalem under Nehemiah’s charge, they took
the time to remember all that God had done for them as a nation. As you celebrate the Fall Feasts, take
time to reflect on all that God has done for us, as a Church Family. Remember what God has done for
you and your family. Let us always remember God’s goodness, lest we forget.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we give thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness. We will tell the world what You
have done. We will sing praises to You, the Most High. We remember the wonders You have performed,
Your miracles and the rulings You have given. Lord, You are great and most worthy of praise! You are
to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but You Lord, made the heavens!
Honor and majesty surround You; strength and joy fill Your dwelling. Father, we thank You for being
the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We thank You for being our God. Thank You for preparing us
for the season of remembrance through the Fall Feasts. Thank You for the opportunity to stop and
reflect on all that You have done for us, our families, our Church Family, our community, and our nation.

Father, we are preparing ourselves to come before You to remember You as our God (Creator), Savior
(Jesus) and Sustainer (Holy Spirit). We remember that the entire universe was formed at Your
command and what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. We remember that it
was You who instituted the Passover when You spoke to Moses to put the blood on the doorposts,
causing the spirit of death to pass over the children of Israel while they were in bondage in Egypt. We
remember that Your Son, Jesus Christ, became our Passover Lamb and, by His blood, we are delivered
from the bondages of this life. We remember that it was You who told Pastor Caldwell to look at an
abandoned K-Mart building and see The Power Center. We remember that it was You who provided
Corinthian Pointe and an opportunity for homeownership. Father, we remember when cows and wild
shrubs resided on the land at West Orem and South Post Oak and now, we rejoice as we worship and
praise Your name in the Kingdom Builders’ Center; and stand in awe and amazement of You as we
see the Texas Children’s Pediatric Associates facility, Walgreens, CVS, McDonald’s, Taco Bell,
Advance Auto Parts, and the other businesses which now operate on the land You provided. Father,
we know that the thoughts that You think towards us are thoughts of peace (good) and not of evil; to
give us a future and a hope. As we remember all that You have done for us, we will share the story of
Your wonderful goodness and sing with joy about Your righteousness.

Holy Spirit, remind me of some of the many things God has done for me (write them down and
begin to praise God for these things):
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help us to look back over our lives and remember God’s faithfulness toward us. Help us to
focus on how blessed we are instead of what we do not have. Remind us of the excitement and passion

39

we felt when we first accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and restore unto us the joy of our
salvation. As a congregation, help us to always be mindful of the amazing things God has done through
our Church Family. Holy Spirit, help us to remember every personal victory we have had in God and
every trial we have overcome. Remind us to tell our youth and children of God’s wonderful works and
everlasting kindness.
Father, forgive us for not remembering Your goodness on a daily basis. Forgive us for allowing our
current cares and concerns to overshadow the victories You have performed in our lives. Forgive us
for not telling our youth and children about Your great love and miraculous deeds. Lord, forgive me for
(list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and
help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.
(Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need
to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal
any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Lord, there is no one like You. You are great and Your Name is full of power. Who would not fear You,
O King of the nations? That title belongs to You alone. All glory belongs to You, God, who alone is God,
our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are Yours before all
time, in the present and beyond all time! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #12:
A Prayer of Celebration for Our Families

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 145:1-13, Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Reflections of the Heart:
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15

Scriptural Prayer

Heavenly Father, our souls honor You. We thank You for thinking of us enough to give us dominion in
the earth. Thank You for our family relationships. We thank You for singlehood, the institution of
marriage, and parenthood. Lord, we thank You for fulfilling Your plans and purposes in our lives and
for surrounding us with favor like a shield. Thank You for blessing us continually with Your loving-
kindness and tender mercies. Your mercy endures forever. You are great, and Your power is absolute.
Your understanding is beyond comprehension. We love You and extol Your Holy Name. Out of the
mouths of babes and infants, You have ordained strength. What are mere mortals that You should think
of them, human beings that You should care for them? Yet, You have made us only a little lower than
Yourself and crowned us with glory and honor. You are an awesome God!

Glorious Father, it is Your will that our families prosper and be in health as our souls prosper. We
declare that our families live in peaceful habitations, in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting places. We
declare that stability, salvation, love, wisdom and knowledge abide in our homes. Lord, we rebuke the
spirits of argument, slander, strife, perversion, violence, offense, lies, rebellion, disobedience and
cruelty in our families. We break soul ties, strongholds and generational curses in our family bloodlines.
We confess that no weapon formed against our families will prosper. We declare that everything the
devil means for evil will be turned around by our God for the good of our families. We call for a spiritual
renewal and restoration in our families. Father, we will hold fast to the confession of our faith without
wavering. We confess that the love of God will reign supreme in our homes and the peace of God is an
umpire in our family relationships. We decree that because our families seek Your kingdom above all
else, and live righteously, that You will continue to give us everything that we stand in need of.

Holy Spirit, show me which family member I should specifically pray for today:

________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Royal Father, we ask that You give our family members one heart and put a new spirit within all of us.
Where there are strained relationships in our families, please turn hearts back to one another. Holy
Spirit, please begin to heal the wounds that family secrets have inflicted on the souls and minds of
some of our members. Lead them to competent Christian counseling to help them process their pain.
Give us Your wisdom. Let discretion preserve us and understanding keep us from the way of evil.
Please unite our families closer together. Father, open the lines of communication in our homes so that
there is a good rapport in our families. Please keep our children and youth as the apples of Your eye
and let Your favor surround them like a shield. Let Your peace, love, and understanding reside in our
families.

41

Merciful Father, please forgive our families for sin. Forgive us for allowing our jobs to be a greater
priority than our families. Forgive us for taking our loved ones for granted. Forgive us for not praying
for our family members consistently. Forgive us for strife, anger, envy, jealousy and for verbal or
physical abuse within our homes. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy
Spirit, remind our families of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me,
Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive and help me to forgive. (Take a moment
and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He
reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your
soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help our families not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Sovereign Lord, You are King! You are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands
firm and cannot be shaken. Your throne has stood from time immemorial. You are from the everlasting
past. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #13:
A Declaration of Restoration for the American Family

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 95:1-7, I Corinthians 12:12-14

Reflections of the Heart:
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he
created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth
and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that
moves on the ground.” - Genesis 1:27-28

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, our souls honor You. Thank You for our family relationships. We thank You for Your
peace umpiring our familial relationships and interactions. Lord, we thank You for fulfilling Your plans
and purposes in our lives and for surrounding us with favor like a shield. Thank You for blessing us
continually with Your loving-kindness and tender mercies. Lord, Your mercy endures forever. You are
great and Your power is absolute. Your understanding is beyond comprehension. We love You and
extol Your Holy Name. Out of the mouths of babes and infants, You have ordained strength.

Omnipotent Father, we rebuke every enemy that is coming against American families including:
domestic violence, divorce, adultery, incest, selfishness, poor communication, and broken homes. For
the first time in recorded history, there are now more single adults than married adults. We understand
that not all are called to be married, but we rebuke the spirits of pride, stubbornness, fear and greed
that prevent those who are supposed to be married from fulfilling their purpose. Lord, You told Adam
and Eve to be fruitful and multiply; to fill and subdue the earth and to have dominion. Lord, it is Your
will that the people created in Your image be in charge here and not the forces of darkness. We cancel
the assignment of the enemy against the wombs of married women causing them to be barren. Children
will obey their parents because they belong to the Lord and this is the right thing for them to do. They
will honor their fathers and mothers so that things will be well for them and they will have a long life on
the earth. Fathers will no longer provoke their children to anger by the way they treat them, but they
will bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from You, Lord.

List those families that you know are in trouble. Now ask the Holy Spirit how you can pray for
them:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help us, as a nation, to make the family a priority again. Help parents to stop being so
focused on material items, that they fail to spend time with their children and impart Godly self-esteem
and emotional stability into them. Remind us that God’s Word should be our guide and not the norms
and customs of the world. Help our parents to stop allowing the television, internet, or video games to
raise their children, but instead to spend time with their children and impart Godly values and wisdom
into them so that when they have grown up, they will not depart from Your ways. Help our married
couples to honor one another and not take each other for granted. Keep the lines of communication
open in these marriages so that the marriage bed will not be defiled. Help our married couples to honor
their marriage vows and not be so quick to look for a way out when things get difficult.

43

Merciful Father, please forgive our American families for sin. Forgive us for allowing our jobs to be a
greater priority than our families. Forgive us for taking our loved ones for granted. Forgive us for not
praying for our family members consistently. Forgive us for strife, anger, envy, jealousy, adultery and
for verbal or physical abuse within our homes. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.
As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the
Holy Spirit to show you names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He shows
you, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul
caused by unforgiveness.)

Prayer Topic #14:
A Prayer for Living a Balanced Life

Scripture Reading:
Isaiah 12, Ecclesiastes 3:1-13

Reflections of the Heart:
COVID-19 has altered the way we live. And this departure from normal life has been tough on us,
especially because we were socially isolated. Many healthcare experts stress the importance of
connection and suggest that we make time for social interactions, whether online or off. Talk to the Holy
Spirit and have Him help you to establish some balance in this season.

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father in Heaven, we thank You for sending Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, so that we can
have a rich and satisfying life. Thank You for filling our lives with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You, God, for
restoration, reconciliation, and healing in our families. Thank You, for giving us all things that pertain to
life and Godliness. Lord, with our whole hearts, we will praise Your holy Name. Let all that we are praise
You. We bless You, and will remember all of Your benefits. You forgive all our sins and heal all of our
diseases. You redeem our lives from death and crown us with love and tender mercies. You fill our
lives with good things. Our youth is renewed like the eagle’s. You are our Savior, Healer, Deliverer, and
Friend.

Awesome Father, Your Word instructs that faith without works is dead, so we confess that we will
develop and demonstrate our Christian faith daily, by living balanced lives. We declare that we are
more than conquerors through Christ. We confess that as we submit to Your Word, we are transformed
by the renewing of our minds so that we live balanced lives. Lord, we decree that our belief systems
and behavior patterns will reflect Your righteousness in our personal and professional lives. Lord, we
confess that Your favor surrounds us like a shield. We declare that our finances are blessed and we
are lenders, not borrowers. Lord, because we realize that the food, we put in our bodies can impact our
mental, emotional, physical and spiritual capabilities, we declare that we will eat healthy foods and we
will include exercise in our daily activities. Above all, we confess that we have victorious futures
because Your plans for us are of hope − filled with good and not evil.

Holy Spirit, please show me the specific areas in my life that are out of balance and help me to
develop strategies to correct these areas:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please instruct us in our relationships, careers, studies, work in church ministry and
finances. Help us in planning our days, paying attention to our duties, staying focused on our
assignments, and with establishing priorities in our professional and personal lives. Show each of us
how to organize our calendars and schedules so that we better manage our time. Help us to be obedient
as You order our steps. Strengthen our hearts so that we may walk in holiness before our Father God.
We ask You to fill our homes with Your gentleness, peace, joy, and Godly order. Bless our children to
mature academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. Lord, strengthen and encourage any
Christians who feel overwhelmed. Please help us all to maintain balance in our public and private lives.

Merciful Father, forgive us for our sins. Please forgive us for not consulting You when setting our
agendas. Forgive us for not taking care of our bodies. Forgive us for being anxious and fretful. Forgive
us for unhealthy, unholy forms of recreation. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have

committed.) Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to forgive. As for me, Holy
Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I
forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Now to You, the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and
ever. You are worthy, Lord, to receive glory, honor and power. You are Sovereign. You created all
things and for Your pleasure they are and were created. Yours is the Kingdom, power, and glory forever
and ever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #15:
A Declaration of Kingdom Praise and Worship

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 147, Deuteronomy 6:1-9

Reflections of the Heart:
Our God is an awesome God. He is kind, tenderhearted, and merciful. Our Father loves us with an
everlasting love and He is always concerned about our welfare. All that we need He provides through
Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. God should always be revered and adored. He should have our utmost
respect. Today, bless the Lord. Lift up your praises to the One who is the living God; our God who is
our Father.

Scriptural Prayer:

Almighty Father, we thank You for the exuberant praise and worship during our Worship
Celebrations. Thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ, who makes our worship experience possible.
Holy Spirit, we thank You for Your manifested presence saturating our Church Family wherever we
gather to exalt the Name of the King of kings and Lord of lords. As a Church Family, we thank You for
the Worship and Arts department. Thank You for the gifts, talents, and grace that You’ve given each of
them. You are great and perform wondrous deeds. You alone are God. We praise You, for Your loving
kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness. Father, through all generations You have been our home!
Before the mountains were born, before You gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to
end, You are God.

Royal Father, as kingdom citizens, we declare that we will shout with joy to You. We will worship You
with gladness and come before Your presence singing joyfully. We will connect in our Worship
Celebrations acknowledging that You are the Lord, our God! You made us, and we are Yours. We
are Your people, the sheep of Your pasture. Our hearts will join in with the worship with thanksgiving
and come into Your courts with praise. We will give thanks to You and praise Your Name. Lord,
You are good; Your unfailing love continues forever and Your faithfulness to each generation. In
our living rooms, cars, or wherever we will lift our voices to produce a Kingdom praise that is
pleasing to Your ears. As You inhabit the praise that we offer to You, we declare that salvation,
healing, restoration and deliverance will come forth. By faith, we declare that every Church Family
member will worship You in spirit and truth. By doing this, we will become the true worshippers You
are seeking.

Holy Spirit, I will worship God with obedience in the following areas of my life:

Holy Spirit, since our worship is a direct reflection of our relationship with the Father, help us each to
examine that relationship and make whatever adjustments need to be made so that our praise may be
pleasing to the King. Help us to begin to live lifestyles of praise and not wait until we get to work or a
church building to begin to exalt the King. Sanctify and purify our hearts so that our worship is a sweet
aroma to God, our Father, as we sing melodious songs of praise to Him. Holy Spirit, continue to anoint
our entire Worship and Arts department as they lead us in worship each week. Strengthen and
encourage them daily.

Merciful Father, forgive us for allowing our emotions and circumstances to dictate the level of praise
that we offer to You. Forgive those who intentionally skip over praise and worship. Forgive those who
do not actively participate in praise and worship. Forgive those who are not living lives that reflect their
love for You. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all

of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.
Sovereign Lord, God Almighty, You are glorious! You are the Rock; Your deeds are perfect. Everything
You do is just and fair. You are the faithful God who does no wrong. Now to You, the King, eternal,
immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #16:
A Declaration of Kingdom Prayer and Faith

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 145; Mark 11:22-24

Reflections of the Heart:
Faith and prayer are the vitamins of the soul; man cannot live in health without them.

~Mahalia Jackson

Scriptural Prayer:

Eternal Father, we thank You for being in relationship with us. As Your children, we thank You for the
opportunity that we have to join together today to pray. Thank You for drawing us into Your Holy family
through the meritorious works of Jesus Christ. Thank You for creating us to be kings of The King and
lords of The Lord. Thank You, Father, for sending us the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us on this faith
walk. The heavens proclaim Your glory and the skies display Your craftsmanship. Lord, we will praise
You with our whole hearts. We will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. We will be filled with
joy because of You. We will sing praises to Your Name, O Most High.

Righteous Father, as citizens of Your Kingdom, we are righteous people who live by faith. We will trust
in You with all of our hearts and not depend on our own understanding. We will seek Your will in all that
we do and, in every situation, we will trust that You will show us which path to take. We will strip off
every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. We will run with endurance
the race that You have set before us; keeping our eyes on Jesus, the Champion, who initiates and
perfects our faith. Lord, we confess that we will continue to seek Your Kingdom above all else, live
righteously, and trust that You will give us everything that we need. Father God, we know that You are
not a man that You should lie, nor the son of man that You should repent. So, we will stand on Your
Word and put all of our faith and confidence in You. We declare, as Kingdom citizens, that we will trust
You with our finances, families, jobs, businesses, relationships, and every other area of our lives. We
confess that our works will reflect the faith that we have in You, our Father.

What actions will I take to increase my faith and prayer life?

Holy Spirit, please help us to relinquish control to You to lead our lives. Help us to transform the way
we think by meditating on the Word, so that we will fully embrace and walk in our Kingdom authority
and rights. As ambassadors, help us make prayer a high priority in our lives, so that Your Kingdom is
advanced. Give us the power to say no to the distractions that keep trying to steal our time with God.
Remind us that nothing is a higher priority than the time we spend every day in prayer. Holy Spirit,
please show us all those areas in our lives where our faith is faltering and reveal the tools that we need
to increase our faith in those areas. Lord, there are some who have had so many disappointments in
life that they have a hard time walking by faith. Holy Spirit, please help them to get the help they need
to process those disappointments and heal those internal wounds so that they can begin to walk in their
Kingdom authority.

Compassionate Father, please forgive us for not having complete faith in You at all times. Forgive us
for having more faith in ourselves, our jobs, our finances, our gifts and talents and other people than
we do in You. Forgive us for at times walking in doubt and unbelief. Forgive us for harboring dead faith.
Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. (Take a moment

and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He
reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in
your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Triumphant Lord, all glory belongs to You, who alone are God. All glory, majesty, power, and authority
are Yours before all time and in the present and beyond all time! In Jesus’ name. amen.
