HOW TO USE YOUR POWER GUIDE

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears

us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the topics that we have

asked of Him. ~ I John 5:14-15

The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based on
the model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13). In order to maximize the use of your guide, please
follow the listed instructions.

1. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s).

Gradually build your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes each
day. You can split up your prayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the morning
and evening. You choose the time of day that is good for you. Find a comfortable place to
pray and turn off any distractions. If you have small children who need most of your attention,
pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s Word saturate their hearing.

2. Refer to the Prayer Topics Calendar on page 9 for the specific prayer for the day. Only pray

for the prayer topic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying.
Please do not get ahead of the prayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,”
first read the Scriptures listed for “Scripture Reading.”

3. Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents please

encourage your children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out loud.
Youth (ages 13-17) may use the Adult Power Guide.

4. These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful conversations.

Trust the Holy Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are praying for the day.
If you speak in tongues, please pray in tongues over each prayer topic. Relax, listen, and
enjoy the Lord.

5. Record any reflections, revelations, or inspiration given by the Holy Spirit in the Prayer

Expectation section at the end of the Power Guide.

6. Believe that the Lord is hearing your prayer and know in your heart that your praying will

produce God’s results for the prayer topic you are praying for.

7. After praying, make your daily power confession by using the Daily Power Confessions

located on page 41 in the back of your Power Guide. When you speak God’s Word over your
life, you activate the power of His Word to work in your life and produce God’s results for your
life. Expect God’s Word to transform your life. We also recommend that you speak the
Power Confessions over your family.

8. As you experience answered prayers, please share them with us! Send your praise reports to

[email protected].

9. Enjoy your time spent with the Lord and thank you for helping to implement God’s plans for

our Church Family.

God Bless You!

SCRIPTURES TO FIGHT FOR PASTOR KIRBYJON

Psalm 5:12 – For You, O Lord, bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him like
a shield. We expect You to bless Pastor Kirbyjon and surround him with favor like a
shield.

Psalm 23:1 LORD, You are Pastor Kirbyjon’s shepherd; He has all that he needs. 2 You
let him rest in green meadows; You lead him beside peaceful streams. 3 You renew his
strength. You guide him along right paths, bringing honor to Your name. 4 Even as he
walks through the darkest valley, he will not be afraid, for You are close beside him. Your
rod and your staff protect and comfort him. 5 You prepare a feast for him in the presence
of his enemies. You honor him by anointing his head with oil. His cup overflows with
blessings. 6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue him all the days of his
life, and he will live in the house of the LORD forever.

Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of
them all. Father, we are expecting You to deliver Pastor Kirbyjon from this affliction.

Psalm 37:39 – Father, we expect You to rescue Your son, Pastor Kirbyjon because he
is one of the godly; Thank you for being his fortress in times of trouble. 40 Thank you for
helping Pastor Kirbyjon and rescuing him from the wicked. Thank you for saving him.
We confess that he finds shelter in You.

Psalm 84:11 For the LORD God is Pastor Kirbyjon’s sun and shield and He bestows
favor and honor on him. No good thing will the Lord withhold from Pastor Kirbyjon who
walks uprightly before Him.

Proverbs 21:1 The king's heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; he guides
it wherever he pleases. Lord, we thank you for guiding the hearts of those who are in
authority concerning Pastor Kirbyjon. 2 People may be right in their own eyes, but You,
Lord, examines their heart. 3 LORD, You are more pleased when we do what is right and
just than when we offer You sacrifices.

Genesis 18:14 – Lord, You asked Sarah and Abraham if there is anything too hard for
You. We, the Windsor Village Church Family say NO! We trust in You and we expect
your miracle to be birthed concerning our Pastor Kirbyjon.

Lamentations 3:22 – Lord, Your steadfast love never ceases; Your mercies never come
to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness toward Pastor
Kirbyjon. 24 LORD, You are our portion, therefore, we, as a Church Family, will hope in

7

You." 25 Lord, You are good to those who wait for You, to the soul who seeks You. So,
we wait on You and wait quietly for Your salvation in this matter.
Isaiah 41:10 – Lord, help Pastor Kirbyjon to not fear for You are with him; help him not
to be dismayed, for You are our God; Thank you for strengthening him and helping him
and upholding him with Your righteous right hand. 11 Behold, all who are incensed
against him shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against him shall
be as nothing and shall perish. 12 He shall seek those who contend with him, but he shall
not find them; those who war against him shall be as nothing at all. 13 For You, the LORD
our God, hold his right hand; it is You who says to him, "Fear not, I am the one who helps
you."
Psalm 5:12 For you bless the godly, O LORD; you surround them with your shield of
love. Father, thank you for blessing Pastor Kirbyjon and surrounding him with your shield
of love.
2 Corinthians 5:7 Lord, as a Church Family, we walk by faith, not by sight.
Isaiah 55:11 – We declare that the Word of God that proceeds out of our mouths shall
not return to You void, but it shall accomplish what You please and it shall prosper
everywhere You send it. We expect Your Word to perform a miracle for Pastor Kirbyjon
and our Church Family.

Prayer Topic #1:
A Declaration of Victory

Scripture Reading:
Ephesians 6:10-18; Psalm 8:2

Reflections of the Heart:
Each time He said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now we are glad
to boast about our weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through us. That’s why we take
pleasure in our weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that we suffer for
Christ. For when we are weak, then we are strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, thank You for going with us; for fighting against our enemies, and for giving us victory!
Thank You God, who allows us to triumph over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. Lord,
Thank You for blessing those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward, they will receive
the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.

Righteous Father, when we face enemies in the form of obstacles and challenges that seem greater
than we are, we will not be afraid. The Lord is with us! We will not lose heart, panic, or tremble, for God
will fight for us against our enemies, and He will give us victory! The temptations we face in this life are
no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptations to be
more than we can stand. When we are tempted, He will show us a way out so that we can endure it.
For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. With God’s
help we will do mighty things; we will trample down our foes. We will remain strong in the Lord and in
His mighty power. We will put on all of God’s armor so we can stand firm against all strategies of evil.
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of this
unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in heavenly places. On
this earth we will have many trials and sorrows, but we take heart, because Jesus has overcome the
world.

Holy Spirit, give me wisdom when praying for the victory of my loved ones:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, remind us that we are victorious and know that nothing can ever separate us from Christ’s
love. In times of trouble, persecution, hunger, despair, danger, or the threat of death, overwhelming
victory is ours through Christ, who loves us. Help us to hold tightly without wavering to the hope we
affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promises. Help us think of ways to motivate one another to
acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect fellowship with other believers as we worship and
honor You, especially now that the day of Your return is drawing near.

Merciful Father, forgive us all for the sins that we have committed against You by thought, word, and
actions. Forgive us for speaking defeat and failure over our lives instead of victory. Forgive us for failing
to recognize the power of our words; that the tongue can bring death or life, and the words we speak
have consequences. Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive, and help us to be quick to

11

forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may
need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to
heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been born
again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation! In Jesus’
name, amen.

Prayer Topic #2:
A Prayer for Destroying Enemy Tactics

Scripture Reading:
John 8:44, Revelation 12:10

Reflections of the Heart:
God says, “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand,” (Isaiah 41:10). Therefore, with the
Lord on my side, I will destroy the tactics of the enemy.

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, thank You for being our Warrior, Yahweh is Your name! Thank you, Lord God, for going
with us! You fight against our enemies and give us victory! Thank You for enabling us to take our
positions, stand still, and watch the Lord’s victory!

Righteous Father, we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and
authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers, and evil spirits in the heavenly places. Today
we dress ourselves in Your armor so that we will be able to stand firm against all strategies of evil. We
will stand our ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. Being
fully prepared, we put on our shoes of peace that come from the Good News, and hold up the shield of
faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. We put on salvation as our helmet, and take the sword of the
Spirit, which is the Word of God. We will always pray in the Spirit and on every occasion; staying alert
and being persistent in our prayers for all believers everywhere. We stand firm against every demonic
attack in the form of active shooters, bullies, terrorists, character assassins, abusers, rebels, and rivals.
No weapon that is turned against us will succeed! We silence every voice raised up to accuse us, for
the Lord is our vindicator. The thief may come to steal, kill, and destroy, but Lord Your promise is to
give us a rich and satisfying life. We declare that every enemy is destroyed in the name and power of
the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ask Holy Spirit to give you insight on who in your life needs intercession against spiritual
warfare:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help us to stay alert, and watch out for our enemy, the devil, who prowls around like a
roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Although we are human, help us not to fight as humans
do, but use God’s mighty weapons (not the world’s weapons), to knock down and destroy strongholds
of human reasoning and false arguments. Lord God, teach us how to humble ourselves before You
and resist the devil, so he will flee from us! We will not embrace a spirit of fear or timidity, but walk in
power, love, and self-discipline.

Merciful Father, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive us for not standing in our power and
authority as Your sons and daughters. Forgive us for failing to recognize that the Spirit who lives in us
is greater than that which lives in this world. Father, forgive us for acting religious, but rejecting the

13

power that could make us more Godly. Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us
to be quick to forgive ourselves and others.
Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle. The LORD Himself
will fight for us when we just stay calm! All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal
King, the unseen One who never dies; He alone is God. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #3:
A Declaration of God’s Provision

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 115, Deuteronomy 28:8-14

Reflections of the Heart:
“We can be certain that God will give us the strength and resources we need to live through any
situation in life that He ordains. The will of God will never take us where the grace of God cannot
sustain us.”

~ Billy Graham
Scriptural Prayer:

Divine Father, we thank You for Your grace. Thank You for knowing exactly what we need before we
even ask. Thank You for never abandoning us or leaving our children begging for bread. Thank You
for being our faithful source. We have always been able to depend on Your goodness. We take delight
in You, Lord. We commit everything we do to You because we know we can trust You to help us. You
direct our steps and You delight in every detail of our lives. Even though we sometimes stumble, we
will never fall because You hold us by Your hand. You love us with an unfailing love and Your
faithfulness endures forever. We find comfort in knowing that the very hairs on our heads are all
numbered. Therefore, we are not afraid because we know how much You value us. We praise You
Lord, for You have shown us the wonders of Your unfailing love!

Almighty Father, as a Church Family, we declare that we will not worry about what we will eat, what we
will drink, or what we will wear. We trust that You already know our needs, so we will simply commit to
seeking Your Kingdom above all else and living righteously. Then, we can expect everything we need
to be added to us. We decree that we will keep the gates of provision open by giving cheerfully and not
reluctantly. We know that if we continue to be obedient in our giving that You will generously provide
all that we need. Not only that, but we will have plenty to share with others. We declare that we will
learn to do good by meeting the urgent needs of others. We confess that our love for You, Father, will
not be overshadowed by a love for the material things Your goodness provides for us. We believe that
You will faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds. You crown the year with a bountiful harvest.
Even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. We decree that You are our sun and shield, giving
us grace and glory. You will withhold no good thing from us when we do what is right.

Reflect on the goodness of God and praise Him for what He has provided for you this year:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help us to acknowledge our motives when we ask for things. Help us to seek the Father
only for what belongs to us, not to covet what doesn’t. Help us to trust the Lord completely with our
needs. Remind us that the Father causes everything to work together for the good of those who love
Him and are called according to His purpose for them. Help us to keep a generous heart even when
times are tough. Show us areas where we need to fortify our faith in God’s faithfulness to us. Help us
to teach our children to honor the Lord for all that He does for us. Remind us that we are not to compete
with one another, chasing after status and possessions. Keep our feet firmly planted on the ground.
Remind us to keep a Kingdom perspective in all that we do. Sharpen our discernment to recognize

15

opportunities to sow seed into good ground. Deliver us from being fearful about how our needs will be
met.

Faithful Father, forgive us for being greedy, selfish, arrogant, rude, impatient, and thoughtless. Forgive
us for murmuring and complaining while we wait for manifestation in our lives. Forgive us for our lack
of good stewardship over what we already have. Forgive us for lying, cheating, and even stealing to
get ahead. Forgive us for withholding our best gifts from You. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that
You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick
to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment
and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that You may need to forgive. As He
reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in Your
soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
We praise You, Lord! How amazing are Your deeds! Everything You do reveals Your glory and majesty.
We know Your greatness, Father; that You are greater than any other god. You do whatever pleases
You throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. Your Name endures forever.
Your fame is known to every generation. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #4:
A Prayer for Salvation

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 104:1-23, John 3:1-21

Reflections of the Heart:
When someone gives you a gift, it is usually because you have done something to deserve it or you
are celebrating a birthday, wedding, or anniversary. The action to follow is your response, usually an
expected reciprocation of what was given. The gift of salvation is free; it is yours. The only required
response is for you to say “yes” to Jesus Christ and receive it.

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, we thank You for Your tender mercies and unfailing love. Thank You for providing a way
for sinners to be reconciled back to You. Thank You for enlightening our hearts to say “yes” to You
when You called us. Thank You for extending Your mercy toward us every day. Lord, You are great
and Your power is absolute. Your understanding is beyond comprehension. We come clapping our
hands and shouting joyful praises to You, our God. Most High, You are awesome! You are the great
King of all the earth. We meditate on Your unfailing love as we worship in Your temple. Your name will
be praised to the ends of the earth. We honor You, as our Lord and Savior.

Awesome Father, it is Your desire that all men be saved and that they come to the knowledge of the
truth. We confess that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the only door by which
people are saved. We declare that when our unsaved family members, friends, and enemies confess
with their mouths, the Lord Jesus, and believe in their hearts that You raised Jesus from the dead, they
will be saved. Father, we declare that they will know the truth, and the truth will set them free. As a
Church Family, we gladly take the great commission and go into the world preaching the Good News
to everyone You place in our paths. We confess that we are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
because we know that it is Your power, God, at work saving everyone who believes. In Jesus’ name,
we will share the Good News at every opportunity that is presented to us.

Compassionate Father, we cry out to You to clear the way so that Your Gospel may be preached in
every city, state, country, and continent. Since the harvest is plentiful, please send laborers to proclaim
Your Word of salvation to the unsaved. We ask You to save our unsaved family members, friends, co-
workers, and enemies. Surround them with the counsel of the Godly so that they may be washed in the
water of Your Word; putting away the old man and putting on the new. Holy Spirit, as the Word goes
forth, please touch the hearts of the unsaved to receive it. Help us, the Body of Christ, to present the
Gospel with love, hope, and patience. Father, we ask You to remove the scales from the eyes and
circumcise the hearts of those who are in a backslidden state. Like the prodigal child, help them to
come to themselves and return to You, their first love. Holy Spirit, remind them that nothing can ever
separate them from God’s love; not death, life, angels, demons, fears for today or worries about
tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate them from the Father’s love.

List the people that you know who are unsaved or backslidden. Ask the Holy Spirit for the
wisdom to witness to them. Trust Him to give you the courage to approach them and the words
to say to them.

17

Everlasting Father, forgive the unsaved and backsliders for not acknowledging You or Your Son.
Forgive them for disobedience, hatred, rebellion, lack of faith, and rejection of Your Gospel. Please
have mercy upon them and extend Your grace towards them. Forgive us as a Church Family for not
sharing Jesus and the Gospel with more people. Forgive us for being timid and reserved about sharing
the Gospel. Forgive us for not reaching out to those who we know are in a backslidden state. Lord,
forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind the unsaved and
backsliders of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit,
bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal
names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive
name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Holy, Holy, Holy, are You, the Lord God Almighty. You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and power.
To You, the blessed, and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality,
dwelling in unapproachable light. To You be honor and everlasting power. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #5:
A Declaration of Kingdom Praise and Worship

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 147, II Chronicles 5

Reflections of the Heart:
Worship always involves the offering of gifts (time, talent, praise, money) to The King, indicating the
citizen’s awareness that everything (s)he enjoys is at the pleasure of The King. ~ Dr. Myles Munroe

Scriptural Prayer:

Almighty Father, we thank You for the exuberant praise and worship during our virtual weekend
Worship Celebration. Thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ, who makes our worship experience
possible. Holy Spirit, we thank You for Your manifested presence saturating the airwaves onto our
devices to exalt the name of the King of kings and Lord of lords. You are great and perform wondrous
deeds. You alone are God. We praise You for Your loving kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness.
Father, through all generations You have been our home! Before the mountains were born, before You
gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, You are God.

Royal Father, as Kingdom citizens, we shout with joy to You. We worship You with gladness and come
before Your presence with joyful singing. You are the Lord, our God! You made us, and we are Yours.
We are Your people, the sheep of Your pasture. We enter with thanksgiving and come into Your courts
with praise. We give thanks to You and praise Your Name. Lord, You are good; Your unfailing love
continues forever and Your faithfulness to each generation. We enter into Your presence with our
thanksgiving and praise. We declare that our worship and praise will produce spectacular sounds like
the Levites who praised You in Your holy temple. As You inhabit our praises, we declare that salvation,
healing, restoration and deliverance will come forth. By faith, we declare that every member of the Body
of Christ will worship You in spirit and truth. By doing this, we will become the true worshippers You are
seeking.

List three praise scriptures that honor the Father. Meditate on these scriptures throughout the
week:

Holy Spirit, since our worship is a direct reflection of our relationship with the Father, help each of us to
examine that relationship and make whatever adjustments are needed so that our praise may be
pleasing to our King. Let Your glory fill us and help us to live lifestyles of praise and not wait until we
come to the church building to begin to exalt our King. Sanctify and purify our hearts so that our worship
is a sweet aroma to God, our Father, as we sing melodious songs of praise to Him.

Merciful Father, forgive us for allowing our emotions and circumstances to dictate the level of praise
that we offer to You. Forgive those who intentionally arrive late to worship services or fast forward
through our virtual services to miss praise and worship. Forgive those who do not actively participate
in praise and worship, wherever we are. Forgive those who are not living lives that reflect their love for
You. Lord, forgive me for (list the sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those
we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. Then, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance
those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people

19

that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now,
trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.
Sovereign Lord, God Almighty, You are glorious! You are the Rock; Your deeds are perfect. Everything
You do is just and fair. You are the faithful God who does no wrong. Now to You, the King, eternal,
immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #6:
A Back-to-School Prayer for Educators and Students

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 111, Daniel 1

Reflections of the Heart:
A new school year brings with it new opportunities to grow, learn, and develop new relationships. We
expect great, safe, and wonderful things this school year for the students and educators of our public
and private schools.

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, we praise and thank You for our educators and students. Thank You for each school and
school district. Thank You for surrounding each educator and student with favor like a shield. We exalt
You, our God and King and praise Your Name forever and ever. We will praise You every day and
forever. Lord You are great and most worthy of praise; no one can measure Your greatness. Each
generation will tell its children of Your mighty acts and proclaim Your power. Your unfailing love, O
Lord, is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is
like the mighty mountains and Your justice like the ocean depths. As a Church Family, we come
clapping our hands and shouting to You with joyful praise. You are the Lord, Most High, and You are
awesome! You are the great King of all the earth.

Triumphant Father, we confess that like Jesus, our students will grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with
You and all people. We declare that they will focus on their studies during the school term and not grow
distracted or complacent. Each student will work willingly in their classes as though they were working
for You. Lord, we declare that no evil will conquer them, nor will any plague come near their homes.
We expect for You to order Your angels to protect them wherever they go. We decree that the wisdom
of God will enter and rule in their hearts. We confess that they will respect and obey the instructions of
their parents, teachers, and school administrators. We declare that the wise instruction of the teachers
will be like a life-giving fountain to each student. In Jesus’ name, each parent will direct their children
onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it. Our students will have good success
because they will meditate daily and obey Your Word.

Holy Spirit, I will pray for the following educators and students in my family and community:

Holy Spirit, impart into our students Your spirit of excellence, like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abed-Nego. Bless our educators for their service to the Houston and surrounding communities. Help
them to remain committed to their educational “calling.” Keep them safe in their classrooms, lead and
guide them as they teach. Grant each teacher wisdom, creativity, and grace to teach each child
according to his or her needs, level of intelligence, and learning capabilities. Increase the wisdom and
understanding of each parent on how to partner with the schools to achieve success in their student’s
education. Bless the homes of each student to be a place of love, peace, support, and good health.
We ask You to increase the capacity of the students to learn, comprehend, and excel in all areas of
their education including: reading, mathematics, sciences, arts, and all required testing. During their

21

extracurricular activities, please protect them from injury. Help each student to develop Godly
friendships this school year. Holy Spirit, create within each student, teacher, and administrator an
excitement, passion, and academic desire as they enter the new school year. Please surround every
school campus with Your shield of protection, so no harm will come near them.
Merciful Father, forgive the sins of our educators and students (list the specific sins). Forgive those
of us in the Body of Christ, for being negligent in teaching our students to first reverence You, which is
the foundation of true knowledge. Forgive those parents for sacrificing their students to excessive
television, video games, music, and to the ways and customs of the world. Forgive us, as a nation, for
devaluing the worth of teachers and education. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind our educators and students of those they need to forgive and help
them to be quick to forgive. Then, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take
a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to
forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any
wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help our educators and students not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil
one.
Exalted Lord, You are worthy to receive glory, honor, and power. You created all things, and they exist
because You created what You pleased. Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In
Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #7:
A Prayer for Godly Friends for Our Children and Youth

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 95:1-7, I Samuel 18:1-4

Reflections of the Heart:
“The only way to have a friend is to be one.” Ralph Waldo Emerson, American philosopher and poet

Scriptural Prayer:

Gracious God, thank You for loving us so much that You sent Jesus Christ to be our Lord, Savior and
Friend. Thank You for creating the gift of friendship and blessing us with Godly relationships. Thank
You for calling us Your friends. We are honored to be Your friend. Abba Father, Your unfailing love is
better than life itself; how we praise You! We will praise You as long as we live, lifting up our hands to
You in prayer. We will praise Your Name with singing, and we will honor You with thanksgiving. We
give thanks to You because You are near. People everywhere will tell of Your wonderful deeds.

Heavenly Father, we confess that it is Your will that our children and youth develop and maintain Godly,
healthy friendships. Your Word declares that two people are better off than one, for they can help each
other succeed. If one falls, the other can reach out and help; but someone who falls alone is in real
trouble. We declare that our children and youth will have Godly friends who will seek first Your Kingdom
above all else, and live righteously so that they will receive from You all that they need. We decree that
their friends will love You, Lord, with all of their hearts, souls, minds, and strength and they will love our
children and youth as they love themselves. We decree that the parents and guardians of our youth
and children will model friendships that are wholesome and Godly so that they will understand what
friendship really looks like. In Jesus’ Name, we cancel every toxic friendship and destroy the
assignments of the devil against our children and youth. We confess that our young people will not
follow the advice of the wicked, stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.

I will pray for the following children and youth to find and maintain healthy, Godly friendships:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Loving Father, some of our children and youth struggle when it comes to making friends. Holy Spirit,
please help them to walk in the love of Christ and draw Godly friends to themselves. In their quest for
friendship, help our children and youth to love themselves. Instruct our parents and guardians on how
to help their child or youth to see themselves through the Father’s eyes. Give them the words to be
able to help their child or youth to understand how precious Your thoughts are towards them. As they
grow in self-esteem and self-worth, help them to grow in boldness and confidence in the way that they
carry themselves so that they will attract Godly, positive people into their lives. Help our children and
youth to be kind, fair, and friendly.

Merciful Father, forgive our children and youth if they have intentionally isolated other students or made
others to feel inferior. Forgive them for succumbing to peer pressure in their desire to fit in with a certain
group of people. Forgive our parents and guardians for not teaching their children how to be good
friends and affirming them in Your Word. Forgive them if they have belittled or made light of their child

23

or youth’s desire to have friends. As for me, Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind our children and youth of those they need to forgive and help them to
be quick to forgive. Then, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a
moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.
As He reveals them to you, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any
wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help our children and youth not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.
Glorious King, You are honored in Judah; Your Name is great in Israel. You are glorious and more
majestic than the everlasting mountains. You are the King of Glory; the Lord strong and mighty, the
Lord invincible in battle! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #8:
A Prayer of Blessings for Our Windsor Village Church Family

Scripture Reading:
Nehemiah 9:6-7, Isaiah 62

Reflections of the Heart:
May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the
Lord show you His favor and give you His peace. Numbers 6:24-26 (NLT)

Scriptural Prayer:

Faithful Father, we thank You for the pastors and kingdom builders within the Windsor Village Church
Family. Thank You, Lord, for Your blessings upon our church, homes, and jobs. Thank You for Your
amazing presence in our lives, both corporately and individually. Father, may Your glorious name be
praised! We exalt Your name above all blessing and praise. You alone are the Lord; You made the
skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You
preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship You.We will give to You, Lord, the glory You
deserve. We will bring our offering as we come into Your presence. We will worship You in all of Your
holy splendor.

Exalted Father, let it be unto us according to Your Word. As a Church Family, we confess that as we
come close to You, You will come close to us. We expect that all Your blessings will come upon us and
overtake us because we are committed to obeying Your voice. We confess that our towns and our
fields are blessed. Our children and the works of our hands are blessed. Wherever we go and whatever
we do, we are blessed. We declare that we are refreshed by the autumn rains as well as the rains of
spring. Lord, we decree in our lives that which was lost is restored and we will eat plenty and be
satisfied. According to Your Word, we declare that we will feed on the treasures of the nations and
boast in their riches. Instead of shame and dishonor, we will possess a double portion of honor. We
will possess a double portion of prosperity in the land and everlasting joy will be ours. Lord, we always
expect You to pour out Your Spirit upon us and show wonders in the heavens and on the earth. We
declare that our marriages are blessed and holy, our families are whole and vibrant, and our bodies are
healthy and strong.

What areas of your life appear to be lacking? Find God’s promises concerning those issues and
declare them over your situations:

Holy Spirit, as the blessings begin to overtake us, remind us to be a blessing to others. Flood our hearts
with light so that we can understand the confident hope that the Father has given us, His holy people,
who are His rich and glorious inheritance. Help us to continue to grow spiritually as a Church Family.
Remind us to always be thankful to God, our Father, and Jesus, our Brother. Help us understand that
it is God who gives us the power to be successful so that the covenant He made with our ancestors will
be confirmed. Lord, please help us to be faithful to the vision of our church and the steadfastness of
Your Word.

25

Generous Father, please forgive us for the sins of disobedience, hypocrisy, selfish-ambitions, pride,
gossip, and perversion. Forgive us where we have misappropriated Your blessings in the past. Forgive
us for not studying Your Word like we should and neglecting our prayer life. Forgive us for depending
on our own strength and intellect instead of Your supernatural power and authority. Forgive us for not
operating in the fruit and gifts of Your Spirit. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.
As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the
Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them
to you, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul
caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, as a Church Family help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Triumphant Lord, You are our stronghold. The heavens declare Your glory and the skies display Your
craftsmanship. You are the Lord Most High, the great King over all the earth. Lord, You are worthy to
receive glory, honor, and power. You created all things and they exist because You created what You
pleased. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #9:
A Prayer of Preparation for the Fall Feasts

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 19:1-11, Leviticus 23:23-44

Reflections of the Heart:
During Teshuva, take an introspective look of your life over the past year. What needs to change in
your life What will you do differently? What will you continue to do that will add value? As you reflect
on your life, remember the wonderful things God has done for you. Our time under God is NOW!

Scriptural Prayer:

Incredible Father, we thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us from the power of
the evil one. Thank You, for Your appointed times and seasons. Thank You for setting aside special
times to celebrate Your goodness and faithfulness in our lives. We are thankful for Your presence in
our lives. We love You, Father. The earth is Yours and everything in it. The world and all its people
belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths.

Majestic Father, as a Church Family, we make preparations to celebrate the Feast of Trumpets, the
Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Tabernacles and we expect to experience Your love, power, and
presence. On the day of the Feast of Trumpets, when the trumpets sound, as a Church Family, we will
respond to the call to honor Your faithfulness. During the Day of Atonement, we will afflict our souls
with prayer and fasting. We will re-evaluate our lives, repent for our sins, and draw closer to You. During
the Feast of Tabernacles, we will remember that Christ has become our High Priest over all the good
things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect tabernacle in heaven, which was not
made by human hands. Jesus Christ, our big brother, has secured our redemption forever.

I am committed to preparing myself for the Fall Feasts by:

Loving Father, please extend Your mercy toward us as we prepare for this consecrated season. Holy
Spirit, please help us to prepare our hearts and minds in the way that is pleasing to our Father. Help
us to reflect, repent and remember. Please help us to slow down during the next 40 days and reassess
our lives with You. Show us what needs to be changed or improved in our lives. Continue to touch our
hearts about Your will for our lives. Cause Your peace to settle into our hearts.

Merciful Lord, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness including: idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions,
jealousies, outbursts of wrath, homosexuality, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders,
drunkenness, revelries, unbelief, and rebellion. Forgive us for not spending enough time with You.
Forgive those who do not choose to observe Your appointed Feasts. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins
that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be
quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a

wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
O King of nations, who would not fear You? That title belongs to You alone! Among all the wise people
of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like You. You are the only true and
living God and the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at Your anger and the nations hide before
Your wrath. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #10:
A Prayer for Our Ailing/Sick Family Members

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 144:1-3,9-10, James 5:13-16

Reflections of the Heart:
In Mark 16:17-18, Jesus said, “These signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out
demons in my name, and they will speak new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with
safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands
on the sick and heal them.” Therefore, let us do what Jesus did as we pray for our sick family members!

Scriptural Prayer:

Glorious Father, we thank You for salvation, the greatest miracle of all. Thank You for Your eternal love
and unmerited grace. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to break the power of the devil and to
bring us hope, health, and healing. We give thanks because You are near. People everywhere will tell
of Your wonderful deeds. Lord, You are good and Your unfailing love endures forever. You are great,
and You perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God. How great are Your signs and how powerful
are Your wonders!

Awesome Father, Jesus Christ, Your Son, turned water into wine, cleansed lepers, healed the sick,
raised the dead, and fed five thousand people with two fish and five loaves of bread. Jesus did many
other signs in the presence of His disciples so that we would believe that He is the Christ, the Son of
God, and have life in His Name. We believe Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.
Therefore; Father, we expect You to display Your glory in the lives of our ailing/sick family members
who are in need of healing and deliverance. With You, nothing is impossible! We expect diseases to
be dissolved, broken relationships to be mended, and those who are held captive in their minds and
souls to be set free. As we pray for them, we confess that Your healing power will operate through us.

In Jesus’ name, we declare healing for (list the names of your ailing/sick family members who are
in need of healing; encourage them to pray scriptures of healing located at
http://myprayerinstitute.com).

________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, as believers, please help us to be bolder about praying for our family members. Help our
family members who are in need of healing to trust in You with all of their hearts and not depend on
their own understanding. Holy Spirit, please open the eyes of their understanding so that they will
understand the confident hope given to those Christ has called. Remind our family members to look to
You for help, strength, and power. Father, cause Your healing power to be experienced throughout our
families, church, and community.

Merciful Father, forgive our family members who have doubted Your Word and Your works. Forgive
them for acting Godly, but denying Your power to perform healings, signs, and wonders in their lives
and in the lives of others. Lord, please forgive them and restore to them the joy of Your salvation. Lord,

29

forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to
forgive and please help us to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to
forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may
need to forgive. As He reveals them to you, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the
Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Lord, You are the Almighty! Only You can open the eyes of the blind and unplug the ears of the deaf.
You cause the lame to leap like deer and those who cannot speak to sing for joy. You cause springs to
gush forth in the wilderness and streams to water the wasteland. You cause the parched ground to
become a pool and springs of water to satisfy the thirsty land. Great and awesome is Your Name. In
Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #11:
A Declaration of Spiritual Authority

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 40; Romans 13:1-5

Reflections of the Heart:

The Church is the Body of Christ, and the Spirit is the Spirit of Christ. He fills the Body, directs its

movements, controls its members, inspires its wisdom, supplies it’s strength. He guides into truth,

sanctifies its agents, and empowers for witnessing. The Spirit has never abdicated His authority nor

relegated His power. ~Samuel Chadwick

Scriptural Prayer:

Glorious Father, we thank You for Your Word which instructs and guides us. Thank You for the
opportunity to grow in Christ. Lord Jesus, we thank You for giving us authority to overcome all the power
of the enemy. Father, with all that we are, we will praise You. We will praise Your name as long as we
live. You made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them. You keep every promise forever. You
are righteous in everything that You do, You are filled with kindness. Lord, You are close to all who call
on You in truth. You grant the desires of those who fear You; You hear their cries for help and rescue
them. You are the Great I AM. We praise and honor Your holy and awesome name.

Loving Father, we will study Your Word! We will use the authority given to us, as we all come to unity
in our faith and knowledge of Your Son so that we mature in You; measuring up to the full and complete
standard of Christ Jesus. We confess that as a community of faith we will study God’s Word so that we
are not ashamed and we will correctly explain the Word of truth. By faith, we decree that we are growing
daily in the knowledge of Your Word and we are more sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leadership. We are
moving from the sincere milk of Your Word to becoming meat-eaters. We will not be unskilled in the
Word of righteousness like babes in Christ, but we will develop to recognize the difference between
right and wrong like those who are spiritually mature.

Lord, enlighten our hearts through the Word of God. Help each of us to fully obtain knowledge of the
Father’s will and to walk in spiritual wisdom and understanding. Once we do this, then our lives will
always honor and please the Lord and we will produce every kind of good fruit. Holy Spirit, stir our
hearts to hunger and thirst after righteousness, so that we are filled daily. Please show each of us
where we need to mature in our Christian walk so that in all things, and in all occasions, we will
represent the Kingdom of God well.

Forgiving Father, please forgive us for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive those who have been slack about

learning more about who we are, in Christ. Forgive those who choose not submit to governing spiritual

authority in our Church Family. Forgive us all for at times depending on ourselves instead of You, Your

Son, and Your Holy Spirit. Forgive those of us who carry offenses, grudges, and anger. Forgive all of

us for acts of pride, rebellion, disobedience, selfishness, hatred, and idolatry. Lord, forgive me for (list
any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and please
help us to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a
moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.
As He reveals them to you, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any
wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

31

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the
nations. Who will not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? You alone are Holy. All nations will
come and worship before You, for Your righteous deeds have been revealed. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #12:
A Prayer for Business Leaders in Our Communities

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 135:1-6, Genesis 41:3-57

Reflections of the Heart:
God believes in economic development. He wants a community to thrive and a nation to flourish. Psalm
33:12 states, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own
inheritance.”

Scriptural Prayer:

Almighty Father, we thank You for providing for us. Thank You for being the source of our supply. We
thank You for taking care of us and supplying all of our needs from Your glorious riches, which have
been given to us in Christ Jesus. Father, You created the heavens and the earth and everything in it.
You give breath to everyone and life to everyone who walks the earth. We will praise Your mighty
deeds, O Sovereign Lord. We will tell everyone that You alone are just. We praise You, Lord! Father
God, we are joyful because we fear You, Lord, and delight in obeying Your commands. We are blessed
to be Your children.

Heavenly Father, we expect business leaders in our communities to honor Your Word and live by Your
precepts. We command light to shine in the darkness for the Godly. We declare that they are generous,
compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their
business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long
remembered. We claim the radical redistribution of wealth in our communities. We decree that the
merchants in our communities will not fear bad news; they confidently trust You, Lord, to care for them.
They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give
generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence
and honor. The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink
away, their hopes thwarted. Lord, we expect You to pour down Your blessings upon our communities.
We decree that our land will yield its bountiful harvest. Father, we will support the businesses of the
Godly men and women in our communities.

Make a list of small businesses in your community and begin to support them.

Magnificent Father, touch the hearts of the people in our communities to support the businesses. Help
the business owners to establish fair and honest business practices so that the residents in our
communities will enjoy doing business with them. Show the owners and managers new and creative
ways to increase their revenue without taking advantage of their customers. Convict the hearts of
business owners in all communities who treat their employees and customers poorly. Holy Spirit, help
the employees to be diligent, hardworking individuals who will work as unto You instead of to man.

Righteous Father, forgive the business owners in our communities for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive
those who have not been diligent in seeking Your leadership for their businesses. Forgive those who

do not trust in You and Your business principles; but lean on their own understanding. Forgive those
who have compromised Your Word to make a profit. Forgive those who have not treated their
employees and customers fairly. Forgive those who have not properly taken care of or shown respect
for the communities they live in. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy
Spirit, remind the business owners in our communities of those they need to forgive and help them to
be quick to forgive.
Holy Spirit, help the business owners in our communities not to yield to temptation but deliver them
from the evil one.
Almighty God, You are awesome in Your sanctuary. O God of Israel, You give power and strength to
Your people. Sovereign Lord, You are great! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are the eternal
King. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #13:

A Declaration of Joy

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 119:57-65, Psalm 16:7-11

Reflections of the Heart:

“I believe a joyful life is made up of joyful moments, gracefully strung together by trust, gratitude, inspiration,

and faith.” ~Brene Brown

Scriptural Prayer:

Omniscient Father, we thank You for being our God. We thank You for saving us through the sacrifice of Your
Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. We thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to instruct, guide, teach, and comfort us.
Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering us and filling our lives with joy. Hallel YAH! Awesome Father, You are
great and greatly to be praised. You are to be feared above all gods. The earth is Yours and everything in it; the
world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean
depths. Lord, Your works are wonderful. You are our help and shield. In You, do our hearts rejoice because we
trust in Your holy name. Let Your unfailing love continue to surround us Lord, for our hope is in You alone.

Wonderful Father, as a Church Family, we declare that as we keep Your commands and abide in Your love,
Your joy will remain in us and our joy will overflow. We know that the joy of the Lord is our strength, so we decree
that we will not allow the cares of this life to cause us to stray from You, Your Word, or our faith in Your promises.
We will maintain our Godly joy on a daily basis because greater is the Holy Spirit in us, than any spirit that lives
in the world. Today, we confess that we will count it all joy when we fall into various trials, knowing that the testing
of our faith produces patience. We will let patience have its perfect work in us so that we may be perfect and
complete, lacking nothing. Lord, we confess that instead of shame and dishonor; we will enjoy a double share of
honor. We boldly declare that in the land we will possess a double portion of prosperity and everlasting joy will
be ours.

What is keeping you from walking in God’s joy? Jot those things down, and then talk to God about them:

Holy Spirit, please instruct us daily with our families, relationships, ministries, careers, and finances. Make our

hearts strong, blameless, and holy as we stand before God, our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ

with all His holy people. Remind us daily of the Word which tells us that a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a

broken spirit saps a person’s strength. Holy Spirit, please help each of us to develop a joyful disposition. Help

us all to enjoy life and laugh more.

Loving Father, forgive us for any acts of sinfulness, including strife, discord, jealousy, rivalries, gossip, and any

abuse of power. Forgive us for allowing the cares of life to cause us to momentarily lose our joy. Lord, forgive

me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help
us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a
moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He
reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul
caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Immortal Lord, You are the blessed and only Almighty God. The King of kings, and the Lord of lords. You alone
can never die. You live in light so brilliant that no human can approach You. No human eye has ever seen You,
nor ever will. To You belongs all honor and power forever and ever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #14:
A Prayer for Employment in the United States

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 48, Psalm 1

Reflections of the Heart:
Sometimes, things happen in life that are beyond our control. It is during these trying times that we can
rejoice in the knowledge that our God will never leave us nor forsake us. Our relationship with Him
allows us to walk through life’s challenges knowing that through the blood of Christ, we are overcomers.
Therefore, cast your cares upon Him for He truly does care for you.

Scriptural Prayer:

Awesome Father, we thank You for providing employment for us, Your children. Thank You for
sustaining those who are in need of a financial breakthrough. Thank You for helping them daily. Thank
You, for being our source and our supply. Holy and righteous is Your name. You are a great God, and
a great King above all other gods. You are our God; and we are the people of Your pasture, and the
flock under Your care. Lord, You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth. You are our strength
and shield, and we trust in You. You help us and our hearts are filled with joy. We burst out in songs of
thanksgiving.

Holy Father, it is Your will that Your children live healthy, productive, happy, and balanced lives. We
confess that as those people who are seeking employment place their trust in You and do good; they
will live safely in the land and prosper. They will never let loyalty and kindness leave them. They will tie
them around their necks as a reminder; and write them deep within their hearts. Then they will find
favor with both You and men, and they will earn a good reputation. Lord, we declare that they will trust
in You with all their hearts; and not depend on their own understanding. They will seek Your will in all
that they do, and we believe that You will show them which path to take. In Jesus’ name, we command
the doors of employment to open for our unemployed. We declare that when they receive employment,
they will work as if You are their direct supervisor. They will not talk back or steal, but will show
themselves to be entirely trustworthy and good. They will respect authority, walk in integrity, and
complete a full day’s work for a full day’s pay.

If you know someone who is unemployed or who wants new employment, write down their
names and insert their names into this prayer:

________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Righteous Father, help those who are unemployed to prepare for their new job. Send people who will
consult with them about how to prepare a resume and how to dress and prepare for an interview.
Remind them that because they trust in You, they will not lack any good thing. Holy Spirit, please help
them to not grow discouraged or frustrated, but help them to continue to remain hopeful and expect
their breakthrough to come forth. Father, some need a miracle right now. Please help them. Holy Spirit,
for those who have a poor work ethic, help them to improve. Erase any negative perception caused by
past work experiences. Holy Spirit, help stretch their income until employment is found.

37

Merciful Father, forgive those people who demonstrate a poor work ethic. Forgive them for not being
on time, leaving early, and wasting time. Forgive those who have not paid their tithes and offerings
(consistently), or spent their money unnecessarily. Forgive those for misusing company property.
Forgive those who have operated in arrogance, greed, lust, pride, arrogance, and rebellion. Father,
forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those people who are
seeking employment to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my
remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or
faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them to you, say, “I forgive name
of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help those people who are seeking employment not to yield to temptation but deliver them
from the evil one.
Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the
nations. Who can be compared to You? Who is Your equal? Lord, You are high above all nations. Your
glory is above the heavens. Yours is the Kingdom, power, and glory forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #15:
A Prayer of Love for God and Our Neighbor

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 93, I Corinthian 13

Reflections of the Heart:
The greatest gift given by God is love. God is love and with His love we can love Him and our neighbor.
God loved us so much that He gave His only Son for our lives. Love is patient and kind. Love is not
jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love never fails. As you pray today, think about your love for Christ
and for your neighbor. Does God have your whole heart? Do you love others unconditionally? Love
never gives up, never loses faith, and is always hopeful.

Scriptural Prayer:

Almighty Father, thank You for loving us despite the way we sometimes act or think. Thank You for
giving us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with Your love, so that we may share love with others. Thank
You for helping us to be more loving and compassionate towards others. Lord, we come before You
clapping our hands and shouting joyful praise to You. You are the great King of all the earth. You
subdue the nations before us and put our enemies under our feet. Our hearts are confident in You,
Father. Because of this confidence, we will sing Your praises. We will wake the dawn with our song,
Lord, among all the people. We will sing Your praises among the nations for Your unfailing love is as
high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Glorious Father, as Your dear children, we commit to loving You with all our hearts, and with all our
souls, and with all our minds. This is the greatest and most important commandment of all. In the same
spirit, we also commit to loving our neighbors as ourselves. We confess that the Holy Spirit fills and
controls us as we commit to doing Your will. We decree that we will be patient and kind instead of acting
jealous, boastful, proud or rude. We will not demand our own way, but we will be considerate of others
and their opinions. We will not be irritable or keep a record of being wronged. But we will be joyful and
quick to forgive. We commit to living a righteous life. We will be patient and will not return evil with evil.
We will let our light shine so that people will see our good works and glorify You, our Father.

How will you show your love for God and for your neighbor by your actions?
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, reveal to us habits, mindsets and attitudes that prevent us from being truly obedient to the
Father. Help us to not deceive ourselves by thinking we are walking in love while using our tongues to
curse those who have been made in the Father’s image. In this world where we are told to put ourselves
first, help us to truly put the Father first in our lives, and to esteem our neighbor better than ourselves.

Exalted Father, we ask Your forgiveness for our sins. Forgive us for, at times, being irreverent and
apathetic towards You. Forgive us those of us who murmur and complain and do not show our love
and appreciation for all that You do for us. Forgive us when we are impatient with our neighbor. Forgive
us for picking and choosing to whom we will show love. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you
have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to

39

forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and
ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He
reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your
soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Eternal Lord, You are God alone. You created the heavens and the earth; You put everything in its
place. You made the world to be lived in, not a place of empty chaos. You are the Lord and there is no
other. You only speak what is true and declare only what is right. In Jesus' name, amen
