B90 GUIDE: READING THROUGH THE BIBLE IN 90 DAYS

Over the next 90 days (October 7, 2018 - January 5, 2019), we will be continuing our journey toward
unity in Christ as a Church Family through reading the whole Bible, Genesis to Revelation.

In order to enhance your experience, you are strongly encouraged to continue in or gather a Covenant
Group of spiritually encouraging friends and/or family to journey with you through these days. Find
times to meet together (at least) weekly in person, online, or on a conference call to share how the Lord
is working in your lives throughout this time of intentional prayer and reflection. (Please register your
group here: http://tiny.cc/CovenantGroupForm and follow the guidelines found on page 4).

The equipment you will need for the B90 journey are:

● A print or digital copy of one of the recommended Bible versions.

● A pen or pencil.

● ~1 hour of time per day. (approx. 12 pages per day. You can divide your reading up throughout
the day, i.e. 15 min, 4x a day gets it done.)

● A Covenant Group of 3 or more Jesus Followers to meet with weekly. Free B90 Leader’s Guide
(.pdf) available to registered group leaders.

● (Optional) A B90 Participant Guide, available here for $9 each: http://tiny.cc/B90Student

● An open heart and mind to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Bible Reading Tips:

Reading the Bible in 90 days is an incredibly rewarding experience, and definitely a challenge. So
here are a few tips to help you make it to the last page:
 Remember this is primarily a Bible reading, not a Bible study project. Don’t get bogged down:
just keep reading!
 Make reading your daily priority.
 Remove distractions: get in a quiet place; silence your phone, computer, and TV.
 Pray before you read.
 Don’t judge your response to what you are reading: just keep reading!
 Write down questions as you read; investigate them later with your Covenant Group.

3

 Be a part of a Covenant Group.
 Take your Bible with you everywhere.
 If you get behind, don’t give up and don’t quit! Use the weekend to catch up.

4

Covenant Groups

Ecclesiastes 4:12 states, “Though one may be empowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not easily broken.”

It is highly recommended that throughout the B90, “Reading through the Bible in 90 Days” that you
continue in or gather a group of spiritually encouraging family/friends of three (3) or more persons. This
group should gather at least once a week between October 7, 2018 - January 5, 2019 to encourage
and reflect together on the weekly Bible readings. You may choose to focus on one day’s reading out
of the week during your time together, or you may choose to reflect in general on God’s work in your
lives from the entire week’s readings.

IMPORTANT: Please register your Covenant Group with Pastor Kim and Incite! so that we can send
you your free Leader’s Guide.

LINK TO REGISTRATION:
http://tiny.cc/CovenantGroupForm

Remember, your most important Covenant Partners are God our Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy
Spirit. As One, trust Him/Them to help and strengthen you and your Covenant Partner(s) during the 90
days of Bible reading.

Guidelines for Covenant Groups

General Guidelines for choosing Covenant Groups are as follows:

 If you are already participating in a regular study or prayer group, please continue to rely
on them to be your Covenant Partners throughout the 90 Days of Bible Reading.

If you are NOT already in a group, then we offer the following recommended guidelines in order to
maintain Christian integrity in the Body of Christ:

 Families are encouraged to meet together at a regular time each week.
 Married couples should generally gather with other married couples;
 Single women should generally gather with other single women; and
 Single men should generally gather with other single men.

How to Use Your Kingdom Builders’ Power Guide

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears
us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have
asked of Him. I John 5:14-15

The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based on
the model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13).

In order to maximize the use of your guide, please follow the listed instructions.

1. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s).
Gradually build your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes each
day. You can split up your prayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the morning
and evening. You choose the time of day that is good for you. Find a comfortable place to
pray and turn off any distractions. If you have small children who need most of your attention,
pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s Word saturate their hearing.

2. Refer to the Prayer Topic Calendar for the specific prayer for the day. Only pray for the prayer
topic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying. Please do not get
ahead of the prayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,” first read the
Scriptures listed for “Scripture Reading.”

3. Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents, please
encourage your children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out loud.
Youth (ages 13-17) may use the Adult Power Guide.

4. These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful conversations.
Trust the Holy Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are praying for the day.
If you speak in tongues, please pray in tongues over each prayer topic. Relax, listen and enjoy
the Lord.

5. Record any reflections, revelations, or inspiration given by the Holy Spirit in the Prayer
Expectation section at the end of the Power Guide.

6. Believe that the Lord is hearing your prayer and know in your heart that your praying will
produce God’s results for the prayer topic for which you are praying.

7. After praying, make your daily power confession by using the Daily Power Confessions in the
back of your Power Guide. When you speak God’s Word over your life, you activate the power
of His Word to work in your life and produce God’s results for your life. Expect God’s Word
to transform your life. I also recommend that you speak the Power Confessions over your
family.

8. All members are asked to attend Victory Wednesday on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. at The KBC.
Please refer to the Prayer Topic Calendar for your assigned Wednesday to attend Victory
Wednesday. Assignments are listed based on the first letter of your last name.

9. Enjoy your time spent with the Lord and thank you for helping to implement God’s plans for
our Church Family.

God Bless You!
Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell

Prayer Topic #1:
A Prayer for Recovery in North and South Carolina

Scripture Reading:
Isaiah 12, Psalm 20

Reflections of the Heart:
Let us continue to pray for the residents of North and South Carolina as they try to put their lives back together.
The prayers of the righteous avails much!

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, we thank You for extending Your grace and mercy to the citizens of North and South Carolina. Thank
You for helping them to recover. Thank You for pouring out Your spirit of love, compassion, benevolence and
generosity towards them. Lord, You are great and Your Name is great in might. Your eternal Word stands firm
in heaven. Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth You created. Today, we bow
down and worship You. We kneel before You and acknowledge You as our Lord and maker. You are our God
and we are the people that You watch over and have taken under Your care.

Almighty Father, You have instructed us to share each other’s burdens. So, we cry out to You for the citizens in
North and South Carolina as they are trying to put their lives together following the devastating storms and
massive flooding. We decree that the recovery process will be done in decency and order. We command justice
to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream for the families and communities affected by the
storm and massive flooding. By faith, we decree that they will commit their rebuilding plans to You so that their
plans are successful. They will trust in You and not depend on their own understanding. They will seek Your will
in all that they do so that You can show them which path to take. We declare that favor surrounds the residents
of North and South Carolina like a shield as they file insurance claims and start to rebuild. We command peace,
be still in North and South Carolina!

Holy Spirit, please unify the residents in North and South Carolina as they move forward with the recovery
process. Heal them physically, emotionally, and psychologically and restore them as they rebuild their lives. As
the communities continue with the rebuilding process, help them to write Your vision for their lives plainly on
tablets so that they may be able to run forward and implement it. Convict the heart of any business, agency or
individual who would attempt to take advantage of the residents for profit or gain. Please send people who will
love, support, and comfort them during their time of recovery.

Righteous Father, forgive all of us for any acts of sinfulness that we have committed by thought, word or deed.
Forgive us as a nation for not acknowledging You until a tragedy such as this happens. Lord, forgive me for (list
any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, help us all to forgive others. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to
my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces
of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now,
trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help the citizens of North and South Carolina not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil
one.

Redeeming King, You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You are the One who is, who
always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One. You are worthy to receive glory and honor and power.
You created all things, and they exist because You created what You pleased. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #2:
A Declaration of Kingdom Fellowship

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 22:22-25, Acts 4:32-37

Reflections of the Heart:
We are more than a church congregation, we are a Church Family. What affects one of us affects all of us. So,
take time out to get to know your fellow brothers and sisters in your Church Family and spend time sharing and
praying for one another.

Scriptural Prayer:

Abba Father, we thank You for righteous fellowship among the believers in our church and beyond. We thank
You for ordering our steps in Your Word. Thank You for the events, activities and programs for the Windsor
Village Church Family that help to create fellowship. We are grateful for our fellowship and communion which
we have with You, our Father; Jesus, our Savior; and the Holy Spirit, our Sustainer. We thank You with all of
our hearts as we meet with Your Godly people. Lord, You are an awesome God. Your deeds are so amazing;
all who delight in You should ponder them. Everything You do reveals Your glory and majesty. Your
righteousness never fails. You are wonderful and Your Name is highly exalted. You are worthy of all our praise.
You are worthy of the glory, honor and power. Lord, the heavens declare Your glory and the skies display Your
craftsmanship.

Mighty Father, Your will is for us to dwell together in unity. As a Church Family, we declare that we will motivate
one another to acts of love and good works. We will not neglect our meeting together; but we will encourage one
another in the faith. We will not get tired of doing what is good for each other. As a result, we expect to reap a
harvest of blessing at the right time. We will not give up, and at every opportunity, we will do good to everyone—
especially to those in our family of faith. Iron sharpens iron so we will surround ourselves with those who have
like minds so that we are positioned to glorify You in our public and private lives. We will engage in righteous
fellowship and forsake all that will deter us from fulfilling Your will. We will be doers of Your Word and not hearers
only. We will fight for righteous fellowship and we will win.

Holy Spirit, show me how to strengthen the God-ordained relationships in my life. Show me those
relationships that I need to end and give me the strength to end them:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we ask that You align our relationships with Your will in our homes, church, jobs and communities.
Show each of us how to organize our calendars and schedules so that Godly fellowship is more of a priority.
Send Godly friends to those who are lonely. Help our Church Family to set the example of what righteous
fellowship looks like. Knit our hearts closer together. Lord, help us to be obedient as You order our steps. Give
us the power to crucify our flesh and walk in Your light. As we yield to the power of the Holy Spirit, help us to
drop our gossip buddies, smoking buddies, promiscuous buddies, club-hopping buddies and anyone who the
devil may use to keep us from glorifying God through our fellowship with the righteous. Help us to let our light
so shine before people that they may see our good works and glorify You, our Heavenly Father.

Merciful Father, forgive us for our sins. Forgive those who do not participate in Church Family activities. Forgive
those for the unrighteous relationships that keep them from Your best for their lives. Forgive those for
disobedience when You have told them to end certain relationships and they refuse to do so. Forgive all of us
for putting our work in front of family and friends. Forgive us for having fellowship or relationship with anything
that is not of You. Forgive us for the doors that we may have opened without knowing it from our childhood or
adult experiences. Help us to know that there is no condemnation to those of us who are in Christ and that as
we confess our sins, we are forgiven and that You remember them no more. Father, forgive me for (list any
sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick
to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask

12

the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say
“I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one.

O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, You are to be praised forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness,
power, glory, victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours. This is Your Kingdom,
Lord, and You are over all things. Wealth and honor come from You alone, for You rule over everything. In
Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Holy Spirit, help us to always remember God’s goodness and faithfulness. Help us to remember and rejoice in

Loving Father, forgive us for not always being appreciative to You for the many blessings You have bestowed
upon us as a Church Family. Forgive those who take Your presence for granted. Forgive those who treat You
irreverently. Forgive those who refuse to share Your blessings with others. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins

Great and marvelous are Your actions, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are Your ways, King of the nations.
Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Your Name? You alone are Holy. All nations will come and worship before
You, for Your righteous deeds have been revealed. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #4:
A Prayer for Our Windsor Village Staff and Ministry Volunteers

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 96, I Corinthians 12:12-27

Reflections of the Heart:
As Kingdom Citizens, we are called to not only receive, but to serve. Therefore, let us pray that the Windsor
Village staff and ministry volunteers are refreshed and renewed daily, so that those who are touched by them
will see and feel the love of Christ.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for our staff and ministry volunteers. Thank You, God, for guiding their feet into
the way of peace. Thank You, Lord, for their commitment and dedication to the Kingdom work You are
manifesting through our Windsor Village Church Family. Father, Your majestic Name fills the earth! Your glory
is higher than the heavens. You have taught children and infants to tell of Your strength, silencing Your enemies
and all who oppose You. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne. Lord, You are such a
faithful God. You are our rock, our deliverer, in whom we trust. You are worthy to be praised.

Righteous Father, let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven through our staff and
ministry volunteers. We declare that each of them understand the roles they play in manifesting Your plans for
the Kingdom. They have the mind of Christ, and they hold the thoughts and purposes of His heart. They hold
fast to the profession of their faith without wavering; for You are faithful in fulfilling Your promises. Their minds
will stay on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report. They are doers of the Word and not
hearers only. They work as if You are their direct supervisor. Because of their service to Your Kingdom, their
needs are consistently met according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Lord, we decree that they serve in
humility, harmony and unity with others on their team. They each serve with a spirit of excellence and a garment
of praise.

Holy Spirit, I will bless our staff and ministry volunteers in our Church Family by:

Loving Father, please fill our staff and ministry volunteers with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and
spiritual understanding. Stir their hearts to hunger and thirst after You. Father, bless them physically, spiritually,
emotionally and financially. Bless their families, homes, jobs and/or businesses. Give them favor with all
persons they come in contact with and help them to complete every assigned task. Lord, protect them and
keep them safe. Help them to not get tired of doing good. Fill each of them with joy and pour out Your love
upon them.

Forgiving Father, forgive our staff and ministry volunteers for any acts of sinfulness. Forgive those for idolatry,
dissension, strife, pride, rebellion, discord, jealousy, injustice, hatred and slander. Forgive those who murmur
and complain. Forgive those who have impure motives for serving. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you
have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our staff and ministry volunteers of those they need to forgive and help
them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a
moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names and faces of people that you may need to forgive. As
He reveals them, say “I forgive names of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul

Triumphant Lord, You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. You are worthy to receive
glory and honor and power. You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created. In Jesus’
Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #5:
A Prayer for Texas Children’s Pediatrics Corinthian Pointe (TCP)

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 33:1-9, Psalm 127:3-5

Reflections of the Heart:
What an amazing God we serve! Praise God for His abundant love for the children in our community that He
would send such an amazing facility to meet their medical needs. “Let each generation tell its children of Your
mighty acts; let them proclaim Your power.” Psalm 145:4

Scriptural Prayer:

Holy Father, we thank You for Texas Children’s Pediatrics Corinthian Pointe (TCP). Thank You for meeting the
medical needs of the children in our community through this great facility. Thank You for pouring Your wisdom
and knowledge into Dr. Cheryl Hardin, Dr. Tyeshia Babineaux, Dr. Deepa Francis Alapat, Dr. Aisha Chaudhary,
Dr. Shanel R. Parlar-Chun and their staff. We will exalt You, our God and King, and praise Your Name forever
and ever. Every day, we will praise You. You are great and most worthy of praise! No one can measure Your
greatness. With all of our hearts, we thank You. Your deeds are amazing; all who delight in You should ponder
them. Everything You do reveals Your glory and majesty. Your righteousness never fails.

Healing Father, every good and perfect gift, including TCP, comes from You. We declare that this facility is an
avenue for hope and healing for generations to come and a blessing to the Houston community. We decree that
every employee of this facility operates in the fruit of the Holy Spirit and they are known for their love and
compassion. The spirit of excellence that was upon Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego is upon every
employee. We confess that the doctors, medical assistants, office specialists, social workers, and nurses, of
TCP work in one accord to fulfill Your mission and vision for this facility. We decree that salvation surrounds this
facility like city walls and praise is on the lips of those who work there. Favor surrounds TCP like a shield and
this medical practice will continue to be successful.

Holy Spirit, show me how I can continue to pray for this great facility:

Righteous Father, please continue to bless the work done at TCP. Cause miracles, signs and wonders to
manifest regularly from this facility so that all who see, hear and experience them will stand in awe and
amazement of You. Holy Spirit, touch the heart of the community to continue to utilize the services offered by
this facility. As the news about this great organization continues to spread, please help the staff to successfully
manage the increased patient load with patience and professionalism. Increase Your discernment in Drs. Hardin,
Babineaux, Alapat, Chaudhary, Parlar-Chun, Nurse Bell and their staff as they administer treatment. Please
bless the staff and meet all of their personal needs according to Your glorious riches which have been given to
them in Christ Jesus. Help them to take care of themselves so that they will be physically, mentally and
emotionally able to meet the needs of their clients. Continue to provide the funding, supplies and technology
that TCP will need to meet their patients’ needs. Give wisdom and direction as they plan to continue to grow and
expand their services to better meet the needs of the community. Continue to unite all of the entities within the
Texas Children’s Integrated Delivery System so that they can expand the level of care that they are providing to
families throughout the city.

Compassionate Father, please forgive those persons who have spoken ill words against this facility. Forgive us
as a society for not being more concerned with the health and welfare of our children. Forgive the TCP doctors
and staff for any acts of sinfulness. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit,
remind the TCP doctors and staff of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me,
Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name
of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

18

Holy Spirit, help the TCP doctors and staff not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, heaven is Your throne and the earth is Your footstool. Your hands have made both heaven and
earth; they and everything in them are Yours. You are the First and the Last; there is no other God. In Jesus’
Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #6:
A Declaration of Success for the Students and Teachers at Our Schools

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 93, Proverbs 2:1-15

Reflections of the Heart:
“The strength of the United States is not the gold at Fort Knox or the weapons of mass destruction that we have,
but the sum total of the education and the character of our people.” Claiborne Pell, Former U.S. Senator

Scriptural Prayer:

Majestic Father, we praise and thank You for the students and teachers at our schools. Thank You for
surrounding our students and teachers with favor like a shield. We thank You for a wonderful and safe school
year. We exalt You, our God and King, and praise Your Name forever and ever. We will praise You every day
and forever. Lord, You are great and most worthy of praise; no one can measure Your greatness. Each
generation will tell its children of Your mighty acts and proclaim Your power. Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as
vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty
mountains and Your justice like the ocean depths.

Triumphant Father, we confess that, like Jesus, the students at our schools will grow in wisdom, stature and
favor with You and all people. They will focus on their studies during the school term and not grow distracted or
complacent. Each student will work willingly in their classes as though they were working for You. Lord, we
declare that no evil will conquer them, nor will any plague come near their homes. We expect for You to order
Your angels to protect them wherever they go. We decree that the wisdom of God will enter and rule in their
hearts. They will respect and obey the instructions of their parents, teachers and school administrators. We
declare that the wise instruction of their teachers will be like a life-giving fountain to each student. In Jesus’
Name, we confess that their parents will direct their children onto the right path, and when they are older they
will not leave it.

This month, I will pray for the students at the following school(s):

Holy Spirit, impart into our students Your spirit of excellence, like You did for Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and
Abed-Nego. Increase the capacity of our students to learn, comprehend and excel in all areas of their education
including: reading, mathematics, science, arts, and all required testing. Bless our teachers for their service to
the Houston community. Help them to remain committed to their educational “calling.” Keep them safe in their
classrooms and lead and guide them as they teach. Give each teacher wisdom, creativity, and grace to teach
each child according to his or her needs, level of intelligence, and learning capabilities. Continue to surround
each principal, director, administrator and their staff with favor. Refresh, renew and refill them daily as they work
tirelessly to educate the students and help them to know who they are in You. Release a steady stream of
resources for each school so they will always have the equipment, resources and materials they need to
effectively educate the students. Increase the wisdom and understanding of our parents on how to partner with
our schools to achieve success in their student’s education.

Merciful Father, forgive the sins of our students and teachers (list the specific sins). Forgive those of us in the
Body of Christ, for being negligent in teaching our students to first reverence You, which is the foundation of true
knowledge. Forgive those parents for sacrificing their students to excessive television, video games, music and
to the ways and customs of the world. Forgive us, as a nation, for devaluing the worth of teachers and education.
Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our students and teachers of
those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance
those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that
you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to
heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
20

Holy Spirit, help our students and teachers not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Almighty King, You are the only true God. You are the living God and the everlasting King. The whole earth
trembles at Your anger. The nations cannot stand up to Your wrath. Great and mighty is Your reign! In Jesus’
Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #7:
A Prayer for Caregivers

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 99, I Corinthians 13

Reflections of the Heart:
“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life--that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping
himself.” ~ American Poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson

Scriptural Prayer:

Worthy Father, we praise Your wonderful Name. Thank You for those in our Church Family who have assumed
the responsibility as caregiver for a parent or relative. Thank You for Your sufficient grace which is given to each
of them daily. Thank You for working in them and giving them the desire and power to do what pleases You.
We are grateful for their willingness to model Jesus in the way that they give up their lives to meet the needs of
others. Heavenly Father, we have seen You in Your sanctuary and gazed upon Your power and glory. Your
unfailing love is better than life itself. How we praise You! Because You are our Helper, we will sing for joy in
the shadow of Your wings. We cling to You. Your strong right hand holds us securely. How joyful are those of us
who fear You, Lord. We delight in obeying Your commands.

Holy Father, we confess that in Your unsearchable wisdom, You have graced the caregivers in our Church
Family. We declare that they will not get tired of doing good; but that they will persevere until the appointed time
for them to reap their harvest of blessing. As they trust in You to fill them with new strength, they will soar high
on wings of eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. They will remain strong and
courageous; confident that the sacrifices they are making will be rewarded. Lord, we decree that even when they
plant in tears, they will harvest with shouts of joy. No matter how challenging the task, they will do everything
without complaining or arguing so that no one can criticize them. As they do this, they will shine like bright lights
in a world full of crooked and perverse people. We declare that from Your glorious, unlimited resources, You,
our Father, will empower them with inner strength through the Holy Spirit.

Consider those you know who are caregivers and ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify three ways you
can be a blessing to them today:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, give comfort to those who spend their lives comforting others. Lord, for those who are now parenting
a parent or guardian, please help them to process this role reversal and give them the strength and wisdom to
handle this change without disrespecting their parent or guardian. Remind them that the Father sees their
sacrifices and He will reward them. Encourage them to not neglect their mental and physical health and help
them to find healthy, holy ways to relax. Please send others to relieve them of their duties so that they can enjoy
rest, fun and relaxation. Lord, please help the caregivers to not grow resentful or angry; but help them to roll
their cares upon You and trust that You will take care of both them and the loved one they are caring for. Remove
those who are abusive and mean-spirited. As a Church Family, show us how we can support the caregivers
among us.

Gracious Father, forgive those of us who take caregivers for granted. Forgive those who selfishly overload them
with tasks. Forgive those who are caregivers for succumbing to anger and frustration when they should be patient
and tenderhearted. Forgive those caregivers for murmuring and complaining, and for being inconsiderate.
Forgive those who may have been negligent and lazy while caring for others. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins
that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our caregivers of those they need to forgive and help them to be
quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and
ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names and faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals
them, say “I forgive names of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused
by unforgiveness.)

22

Holy Spirit, help our caregivers not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

O Holy One of Israel, You are King! Let the nations tremble. You sit on Your throne between the cherubim. Let
the whole earth quake! You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all the nations. We exalt You and bow
low before Your feet, for You are holy! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #8:
A Prayer for Mature Adults

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 16:5-11, Titus 2:1-5

Reflections of the Heart:
We live in a society that celebrates youthfulness and looks down upon getting older. Billions of dollars are spent
on products and procedures to keep people looking and feeling young. Our elders have seen things we couldn’t
even imagine and survived things we could never comprehend facing. They are filled with wisdom and
experience that our society needs. Take some time to pray for the mature adults in your life. Let us not forget
them.

Scriptural Prayer:

Gracious Father, we thank You for our mature adults. Thank You for blessing each day of their lives. Thank You
for blessing them with an abundance of Your wisdom and knowledge. Thank You for providing for their spiritual,
emotional, financial and physical needs. Loving Father, we praise Your Name. We praise You because You are
good. We will celebrate Your lovely Name with music. We know Your greatness and that You, our Lord, are
greater than any other god. Your Name, O Lord, endures forever; Your fame is known to every generation. You
are righteous in everything that You do; You are filled with kindness. You are close to all who call upon You in
truth. You grant the desires of those who fear You; You hear their cries for help and rescue them. We praise
You, Lord; may everyone on earth bless Your holy Name forever and ever.

Eternal Father, we confess that the older men in our Church Family will exercise self-control, are worthy of
respect and live wisely. They have strong faith and are filled with love and patience. We declare that our mature
women are honorable and righteous. They are not slanderous or heavy drinkers. Instead, we confess that they
will teach others what is good; they will train the younger women in our Church Family to love their husbands
and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their
husbands. We decree that our mature men are models of God’s strength and faithfulness and they will teach
our young men to respect authority, provide for their wives and children, live wisely, lead with compassion and
fairness, and love their wives like Christ loves the church. We declare that our mature adults will continue to
flourish like palm trees and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon. Even in old age, they will still produce fruit
and remain vital and green.

Holy Spirit, we know that some of our mature adults are lonely; please help us as a Church Family to reach out
to them and surround them with the love of the Father. Impress upon their family members to come and visit
them and spend quality time with them. Please help us to identify those who have isolated themselves and show
us how to effectively meet their needs. Lord, mature adults have worked hard all of their lives and some of them
have seen their retirement funds depleted. Please open up new revenue streams so that they will not have to
struggle or go without financially. Father, protect them from those who would try to prey upon them with get-
rich-quick schemes, unnecessary mediation, predatory loans or any other schemes to steal from them. Increase
their discernment and wisdom when they make decisions, especially where their health and finances are
concerned. Remind our younger generations to regard our mature adults with honor and respect.

Write down the names of mature adults that you know. Now, write down ways that you can enrich or
bless their lives:

________________________________________________________________________________________

Merciful Father, forgive us as a nation for disregarding and disrespecting our mature adults. Forgive us for
viewing mature adults as feeble and disposable. Forgive those mature adults who don’t depend completely upon
You, but look at their circumstances. Forgive those who have allowed life to cause them to grow bitter and angry.
Forgive those individuals who do not check on or intentionally do not spend time with their older relatives. Lord,
forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our mature adults of those they

24

need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I
need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may
need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any
wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, remind our mature adults not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Triumphant Lord, there is no one like You! You are great, and Your Name is full of power. Who would not fear
You, O King of the nations? That title belongs to You alone! All glory majesty, power and authority are Yours
before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #9:
A Prayer for the Homeless

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 126, Matthew 25:34-40

Reflections of the Heart:
The majority of us will never know what it is like to not have a safe, secure place to go home to. Unfortunately,
for far too many Americans, homelessness is an everyday reality. The biggest tragedy is how many of those
homeless are children and youth. Take time to thank God for the blessing of shelter that He has afforded you;
but also take time and pray for those who are currently out in the elements without shelter.

Scriptural Prayer:

Righteous Father, we thank You for being a God of grace and mercy. Thank You for knowing each homeless
person and family intimately. Thank You for being their protection, shelter, hope and help. The heavens proclaim
Your Glory, Lord. The skies display Your craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night
You are made known. Father, Your instructions are perfect, reviving the soul. Your decrees are trustworthy,
making wise the simple. Your commandments are right, bringing joy to the heart. Your commands are clear,
giving insight for living. Reverencing You is pure, lasting forever. Your laws are true; each one is fair. They are
more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the
comb.

Glorious Father, we confess that Your arm is not too weak to save the homeless, neither is Your ear deaf to hear
their calls. Lord, You know each of them and call them by name. You know everything about them, when they
sit down and when they stand up. You know their thoughts even when they are far away. We rejoice Mighty King,
because You said You will never fail nor abandon them. Lord, You said that the poor will always be among us,
but You also mandated that we take care of them. You said that we are to share our food with the hungry, give
shelter to the homeless, and give clothes to those who need them and to not hide from our relatives who need
our help. We declare that, as a Church Family, we will commit to feeding the hungry and helping those who are
in trouble. Lord, then You will guide us continually, give us water when we are dry and restore our strength.

Holy Spirit, show me how I can be a blessing to the homeless community in Houston:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we ask that You would be a wall of protection and deliverance around the homeless daily. Watch
over them while they sleep and protect them from violence, abuse, and theft. Lord, we cry out on behalf of the
children whose families are homeless. Help them to overcome their bleak beginnings and show them how
precious they are in Your sight. Help them to focus and study so that they will excel in school. Encourage them
when other children say mean things about them because of their circumstances. Holy Spirit, change the hearts
of the leaders of our country who continue to ignore the plight of the homeless, yet they pursue greed and
avarice. Lord, for those who are homeless because of an addiction or mental illness, please help them to find
the help they need so that they can get their lives back in order and begin to rebuild. Father, bless Bro. Daniel
Kibe and each member of our Global and Local Missions and Outreach ministries as they serve those in need.
Please continue to empower and provide for our Church Family financially so that we have the resources to
battle this cultural atrocity.

Merciful Father, forgive those homeless persons whose poor decisions have led to their current situation. Forgive
those who are homeless due to drugs, alcohol, gambling, addictions, or poor work habits. Forgive those people
who would seek to take advantage of the homeless. Forgive those who look down upon the homeless. Forgive
those of us who have resources to give to the homeless but refuse to give. Forgive those agencies who claim
to be advocates for the homeless, but misappropriate the resources. Forgive our nation for creating systems
that produce a homeless population. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit,
remind the homeless of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit,

26

bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names
or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).”
Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help the homeless not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, where is there anyone as mighty as You? You are entirely faithful. You are far
more awesome than all who surround Your throne. Your home reaches up to the heavens, while its foundation
is on the earth. You draw water up from the oceans and pour it down as rain on the land. The Lord is Your Name!
You are mighty, but You do not despise anyone! You are mighty in both power and understanding. In Jesus’
Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #10:
A Declaration of Restoration of the American Family

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 95:1-7, Ephesians 5:21-33, Ephesians 6:1-4

Reflections of the Heart:
The family unit is the backbone of any society. When the family break downs, society has no foundation upon
which to stand. Let us exercise our authority and begin to declare that the American family will once again be
restored and reflect the Kingdom of God.

Scriptural Prayer:

Heavenly Father, our souls honor You. Thank You for our family relationships. We thank You for Your peace
umpiring our familial relationships and interactions. Lord, we thank You for fulfilling Your plans and purposes in
our lives and for surrounding us with favor like a shield. Thank You for blessing us continually with Your loving-
kindness and tender mercies. Lord, Your mercy endures forever. You are great and Your power is absolute.
Your understanding is beyond comprehension. We love You and extol Your Holy Name. Out of the mouths of
babes and infants, You have ordained strength. What are mere mortals that You should think of them, human
beings that You should care for them?

Omnipotent Father, we acknowledge that we are not fighting against flesh and blood enemies for our families,
but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against
evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, we gird ourselves with the full armor of God as we fight for the
restoration of families in the United States of America. We rebuke every enemy that is coming against our
families including: domestic violence, divorce, adultery, incest, selfishness, poor communication and broken
homes. For the first time in recorded history, there are now more single adults than married adults. We
understand that not all are called to be married, but we rebuke the spirits of pride, stubbornness, fear and greed
that prevent those who are supposed to be married from fulfilling their purpose. Lord, You told Adam and Eve
to be fruitful and multiply; to fill and subdue the earth and to have dominion. Lord, it is Your will that the people
created in Your image be in charge here and not the forces of darkness.

List those families that you know are in trouble. Now ask the Holy Spirit how you can pray for them:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, help us, as a nation, to make the family a priority again. Help parents to stop being so focused on
material items, that they fail to spend time with their children and impart Godly self-esteem and emotional stability
into them. Remind us that God’s Word should be our guide and not the norms and customs of the world. Help
our parents to stop allowing the television, internet or video games to raise their children, but instead to spend
time with their children and impart Godly values and wisdom into them so that when they have grown up, they
will not depart from Your ways. Help our married couples to honor one another and not take each other for
granted. Keep the lines of communication open in these marriage so that the marriage bed will not be defiled.
Help our married couples to honor their marriage vows and not be so quick to look for a way out when things get
difficult.

Merciful Father, please forgive our American families for sin. Forgive us for allowing our jobs to be a greater
priority than our families. Forgive us for taking our loved ones for granted. Forgive us for not praying for our
family members consistently. Forgive us for strife, anger, envy, jealousy, adultery and for verbal or physical
abuse within our homes. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us
all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

28

Holy Spirit, help our families not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Sovereign Lord, You are King! You are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and
cannot be shaken. Your throne has stood from time immemorial. You are from the everlasting past. In Jesus’
Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #11:
A Declaration of Healing for People Diagnosed with Cancer

Scripture Reading:
Luke 1:47-55, Isaiah 53:4-5

Reflections of the Heart:
Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and forever! In Mark 16:17-18 (NLT), Jesus said, “These signs will
accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak new languages.
They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They
will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them.” Therefore, as believers, let us do what Jesus did!

Scriptural Prayer:

Faithful Father, we are thankful for Jesus, the Living Word, who is seated at Your right hand. We give thanks to
You, Lord, for You are good. Your faithful love endures forever. Who can list Your glorious miracles, Lord? We
give thanks to You, Jesus, for You took our sicknesses and removed our diseases. We give thanks to You for
You personally carried our sins in Your body on the cross, and freed us from the bondage of death. By Your
wounds, we were healed. Holy Spirit, we thank You for Your power that brings healing to our bodies and souls.
Father, we will exalt You, our God and King, and praise Your Name forever and ever. Daily, we will praise You,
for You are great and most worthy of praise! No one can measure Your greatness. We will meditate on Your
majestic, glorious splendor and Your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; we
will proclaim Your greatness.

Glorious Father, You clothed us with skin and flesh, and You knit our bones and sinews together. You gave us
life and showed us Your unfailing love. You are our Healer, and Your Word declares everyone who calls on
Your Name will be saved. By the authority in Your Name, we decree that all forms and types of cancer within
the bodies of Your people will no longer have dominion. We decree that no weapon formed against the spiritual
and physical bodies of Your people will prosper. We cancel the devil’s assignments to destroy their bodies with
carcinoma, sarcoma, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and all forms of cancer, including the central nervous
system. We declare that all malignant and abnormal cells are dying; they are no longer dividing and spreading
through the blood or lymph systems. We trust in You, our God who brings the dead back to life and who creates
new things out of nothing; therefore, we declare life and restoration into their bodies. By faith, we boldly command
complete healing of the immune system in the bodies of Your children. Lord, we decree that You are their light
and salvation, so they will not be afraid. You are their fortress, their protection from danger, so they will not
tremble. We command peace to be still in their lives as they are being made whole by the miraculous power of
God.

Today, I will cry out to the Lord as I pray in faith for:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please help those who are overcoming cancer to set their hope on You so that they will continue to
obey God’s commands and not forget His glorious miracles. Continue to use all health professionals as
instruments of healing; through the practice of medicine, prayer offered in faith, the laying on of hands and other
means of healing that You have ordained. Give researchers divine insight into the causes, diagnoses and
treatment of cancers. Strengthen those persons who are suffering with these conditions in their bodies, and help
them to live out their faith in You. Increase their endurance and patience as they walk through the healing
process. Fill them with Your presence and remind them that You will never fail or abandon them. Daily remind
them that there is nothing too hard for God and with Him, everything is possible. Surround them with Your peace
as they undergo chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery or other cancer treatment methods. Touch the hearts
of family members to provide an atmosphere of faith, hope and love. Please help to provide the adequate
finances, transportation, food, clothing and shelter. Holy Spirit, teach us all how to live in Your Kingdom and to
treat our bodies as Your temple; remind us to eat healthy, exercise and sleep enough hours so that our bodies
fully recovers from the day’s activities.

30

Gracious God, forgive those who have been diagnosed with cancer for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive our nation
for creating unhealthy conditions in our food supply and environment. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that
you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.
As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy
Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive
name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help those who need healing not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

All glory, majesty, power and authority belong to You before all time, in the present and beyond all time. You
are the King of kings and Lord of all lords. Heaven is Your throne and the earth is Your footstool. In Jesus’
Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #12:
A Prayer for Justice

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 118:1-9, Psalm 140

Reflections of the Heart:
“Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19

Scriptural Prayer:

Eternal Father, we thank You for being the just Judge. Thank You for hearing us when we call to You for help
for our nation. Thank You for moving on the hearts of Your people to establish peace, justice and righteousness
in the earth. Lord, we will praise You with all of our hearts. Your love for us is so very great, we will give glory
to Your Name forever! Lord, You have rescued us from the depths of death. We will sing of Your unfailing love
forever. Young and old will hear of Your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as
enduring as the heavens.

Immortal Father, we command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream within our
judicial system in America. Your Word says that justice and righteousness are more acceptable to You than
sacrifice. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne. We confess that justice and
righteousness will prevail in our nation, homes, workplaces, churches, schools and communities. You are the
Lord who loves all of humankind; You are no respecter of persons. Lord, You created us in Your image and it is
Your desire that we, Your creation, love each other as we love ourselves. Lord, we believe that You will raise
us above the injustices of racism that our nation has witnessed lately. And because Your Spirit dwells within us,
the Body of Christ, we confess that we will walk in righteousness and integrity. We will not discriminate against
anyone because of their race, their sex, or their age. We will not pay back evil with more evil, but we will always
do things in such a way that everyone can see that we are honorable.

Holy Spirit, as I watch the news, show me how to pray about the injustices in our nation:
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please help our nation to heal from the wounds that the instances of injustice have inflicted on the
American people. Remind the members of the Body of Christ to not sin by letting anger control them. Grant
each of us the desire and commitment to daily walk in Your justice and righteousness without prejudice or
partiality. Deal with the hearts of those Christians who practice this ungodliness. Remind them to walk in Your
Spirit and not in their flesh. Guide parents on how to talk with their children about this subject in a way that will
not instill fear, anger, or hatred. Holy Spirit, I ask that You search my heart for areas of hidden discrimination or
bias and remove it immediately from me.

Abba Father, forgive us for any acts of racism, sexism, and ageism. Forgive our nation for its injustice, prejudice,
and oppression. Forgive our nation for loving power and things instead of people. Please forgive those persons
who are presently practicing racism, sexism, and ageism. As the Body of Christ, we renounce the gods of racism,
sexism, and ageism. Forgive me, Father, for not acknowledging that when I make blanket statements about
race, sex, or age that I am discriminating. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy
Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring
to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or
faces of people that you may need to forgive. As reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now,
trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

Triumphant King, You are greater than any other god. You do whatever You please throughout all heaven and
earth, and on the seas and in their depths. You cause clouds to rise over the earth. You send lightning with

Prayer Topic #13:
A Prayer for People Seeking Employment

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 42:1-4, Psalm 1

Reflections of the Heart:
Sometimes, things happen in life that are beyond our control. It is during these trying times that we can rejoice
in the knowledge that our God will never leave us nor forsake us. Our relationship with Him allows us to walk
through life’s challenges knowing that through the blood of Christ, we are overcomers. Therefore, cast your
cares upon Him for He truly does care for you.

Scriptural Prayer:

Awesome Father, we thank You for providing employment for us, Your children. Thank You for sustaining those
who are in need of a financial breakthrough. Thank You for helping them daily. Thank You, for being our source
and our supply. Holy and righteous is Your Name. You are a great God, and a great King above all other gods.
You are our God; and we are the people of our pasture, and the flock under Your care. Lord, You are the Creator
of the heavens and the earth. You are our strength and shield, and we trust in You. You help us and our hearts
are filled with joy. We burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

Holy Father, it is Your will that Your children live healthy, productive, happy, and balanced lives. We confess that
as those people who are seeking employment place their trust in You and do good; they will live safely in the
land and prosper. They will never let loyalty and kindness leave them. They will tie them around their necks as
a reminder; and write them deep within their hearts. Then they will find favor with both You and men, and they
will earn a good reputation. Lord, we declare that they will trust in You with all their hearts; and not depend on
their own understanding. They will seek Your will in all that they do, and we believe that You will show them
which path to take. In Jesus’ Name, we command the doors of employment to open for our unemployed. We
declare that when they receive employment, they will work as if You are their direct supervisor. They will not
talk back or steal, but will show themselves to be entirely trustworthy and good. They will respect authority, walk
in integrity and complete a full day’s work for a full day’s pay.

If you know someone who is unemployed or who wants new employment, write down their names and
insert their names into this prayer:

________________________________________________________________________________________

Righteous Father, help those who are unemployed to prepare for their new job. Send them help, such as Career
Initiative, to consult with them about how to prepare a resume and how to dress and prepare for an interview.
Remind them that because they trust in You, they will not lack any good thing. Holy Spirit, please help them to
not grow discouraged or frustrated, but help them to continue to remain hopeful and expect their breakthrough
to come forth. Father, some need a miracle right now. Please help them. Holy Spirit, for those who have a poor
work ethic, help them to improve. Erase any negative perception caused by past work experiences. Holy Spirit,
help stretch their income until employment is found.

Merciful Father, forgive those people who demonstrate a poor work ethic. Forgive them for not being on time,
leaving early, and wasting time. Forgive those who have not paid their tithes and offerings (consistently), or
spent their money unnecessarily. Forgive those for misusing company property. Forgive those who have
operated in arrogance, greed, lust, pride, arrogance, and rebellion. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that
you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind those people who are seeking employment to forgive and help them
to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment
and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals
them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused
by unforgiveness.)

34

Holy Spirit, help those who are seeking employment not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations.
Who can be compared to You? Who is Your equal? Lord, You are high above all nations. Your glory is above
the heavens. Yours is the Kingdom, power, and glory forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #14:
A Prayer for Houston Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Personnel

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 48:1-8, Romans 13:1-7

Reflections of the Heart:
First responders consistently risk their lives to keep ours safe. These brave men and women face danger every
time they show up for work. Keep our first responders and their families in your prayers.

Scriptural Prayer:

Merciful Father, we thank You for the men and women who serve as police officers, firefighters and emergency
first responders for the Greater Houston Area. Thank You for empowering them spiritually, mentally,
psychologically and physically for the trauma that they face daily. Thank You for being their strength and their
hope. You are awesome in Your sanctuary. God of Israel, You give power and strength to Your people. Praise
be to You, God! May all who are Godly rejoice in You, Lord, and praise Your holy Name! Let all who take refuge
in You rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. We give thanks to You who made the heavens so skillfully.
Your faithful love endures forever. We give thanks to You who placed the earth among the waters. Your faithful
love endures forever.

Today, we stand in the gap for our police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel. We declare
God’s protection and provision over their lives. In Jesus’ Name, we declare that no weapon turned against them
will succeed. Every voice which rises up to accuse them will be silenced. As they go out on emergency calls,
we confess that You will order Your angels to protect them wherever they go. Your angels will hold them up with
their hands so they will not hurt their foot on a stone. By faith, we confess that the public servants who are called
by Your Name, Father, will love You with all of their hearts, soul, strength, and mind. They will find their source
of strength in You. We declare that they will consistently seek Your will in all that they do and You will show them
which path to take.

Holy Spirit, show me ways in which I may assist the police, fire and emergency medical personnel in my
community:

________________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, as the first responders seek You for wisdom, please reveal any snares, traps or pitfalls that may lay
ahead of them and show them how to circumvent these dangers. Help them to remain focused when they
respond to an emergency. Help them to all work together as a well-oiled machine. Remind them to be their
brother or sister’s keeper. Calm the fears of their loved ones, especially young children. Help the family members
to trust You for the safety of their loved ones. Holy Spirit, remind those first responders who are Believers to
always be joyful, never stop praying and to be thankful in all circumstances. Remind the citizens of our great
city to be mindful of our first responders; to follow their instructions, pray for them and to be appreciative of the
commitment that these men and women have made to our city.

Merciful Father, forgive our police, fire and emergency personnel for their sins. Forgive them for any injustice
within the respective departments. Forgive us as a city for failing to recognize first responders until a tragedy
occurs. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our police officers,
fire-fighters and emergency medical personnel of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive. As for
me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive name
of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our police officers, fire-fighters and emergency medical personnel not to yield to temptation but
deliver them from the evil one.

Lord of Heaven’s Armies, You are great. How deserving of praise, in the city of our God, which sits on Your

Prayer Topic #15:
A Prayer for Our U.S. Military Personnel

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 117, Psalm 18:31-50

Reflections of the Heart:
Self-centeredness is the essence of the worldliness in wars. Humility is the opposite of the proud selfishness
and self-centered ambition which characterizes this present evil warring age. Therefore, let us seek peace, for
the seed of the righteous, even in our military, will conquer the gates of the wicked.

Scriptural Prayer

Heavenly Father, we thank You for our U.S. Military personnel. We thank You for blessing our armed forces
throughout history. We thank You for making our nation a mighty power in the world. Thank You for our men and
women who are returning home from Iraq. Lord, we praise and honor Your Name. Your Name is the Lord and
we rejoice before You. You have been our home through all the generations. We praise You, the God of Israel,
who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen! O Lord, what a variety of things You have made. In
wisdom, You have made them all. The earth is full of Your creatures. Lord, You are a faithful, loving and
compassionate God and we bless You.

Righteous Father, we declare that You are the light and salvation of our military personnel; they will not be afraid.
You are their fortress and their protection from danger; they will not tremble. Any enemy or foe who comes to
attack them will stumble and fall. Our soldiers will trust in You with all of their hearts and they will not depend on
their own understanding. They will seek Your will in all that they do, and we know that You will show them which
path to take. We declare that our military personnel are blessed and highly favored. They will submit themselves
to God, resist the devil and he will flee from them. With the authority given to us, we cancel the assignment of
anxiety, depression, anger, fear and confusion and declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper.
We command God’s order to prevail within the Veteran Affairs system.

List the name(s) of the active or inactive military veteran(s) you know and insert their name(s) in the
prayer:

________________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________________

Worthy Father, please continue to provide for the families of those soldiers who have been deployed to war. Holy
Spirit, help our veterans who have returned home to process all they have experienced. Heal any physical and
emotional wounds. Please help them with their familial, social, and professional relationships. Lord, we ask that
the wait times for appointments at the VA Hospital will be shortened and that each veteran will be treated with
dignity and respect. Holy Spirit, please give our government officials the wisdom on how to cut down on the red
tape that ensnares so many veterans from receiving all of the benefits they are entitled to. As a nation, help us to
not overlook or discount the sacrifices our military veterans have made for the freedom of our nation.

Forgiving Father, please forgive our active and inactive military personnel for their sins. Forgive them for lying,
cheating, stealing, slander, strife, malice, envy, jealousy, selfishness, disobedience and rebellion. Forgive our
nation for hypocrisy, slander, greed, racism, injustice, elitism, hatred, and violence. Father, forgive the media
for misrepresenting the truth. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed.) Holy Spirit, remind
our active and inactive military personnel of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As
for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit
to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive
name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help our active and inactive military personnel not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the
evil one.

Lord, You reign. You dwell between the cherubim; let the earth be moved. You are great in Zion and high above
