HOW TO USE YOUR CHILDREN’S POWER GUIDE "...Let the little children come to Me..." Luke 18:16 The Children's Prayer Guide is designed to assist children with daily prayer and Bible reading. This is a great opportunity for parents and children to bond together. The guidelines for using the Children's Power Guide are: 1. Use your Power Guide daily before school, after school or before bedtime. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray. 2. Read the Scriptures under “Scripture Reading” and pray the “Scriptural Prayer” for each day. Use the Prayer Topic Calendar located on page 8 to find the prayer topic for each day. 3. Read the Scriptures and pray the daily prayer out loud. God wants to hear your voice. 4. Use your faith and believe that God hears you praying. 5. After you pray the daily prayer topic, relax, listen and journal two or more sentences of your thoughts and reflections on the Prayer Expectation page. Be sure to ask God, the Holy Spirit, to help you. 6. Before finishing your prayer time, say your power confession for the day by using the Daily Power Confessions located at the back of your Power Guide. Say them out loud with lots of excitement. 7. Enjoy your daily prayer time spent with the Lord! God Bless You! WV Leadership Team 4

Fasting Instructions for Children and Youth God gives us pastors according to His heart who will feed us with knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15). We must obey our pastors for they watch over our souls (Hebrews 13:17). Parents should teach and guide by their example the importance of following the leadership of our pastors. When Pastor Caldwell proclaims the fast, children and youth are capable of obeying and participating. Parents, please prayerfully consider including your children and youth in the Church Family Spiritual Fast. It will be a blessed experience for them, and it will begin to lay a foundation for their future. Your support and encouragement are recommended to maximize your child’s success. I. What is a Fast? The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” Fasting has been a part of Christianity through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural sacrifice. Fasting does not change or impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting, Christians are empowered to discipline their daily relationship with the Lord. II. Why Should Children and Youth Fast? • To have a closer relationship with God our Father and Jesus Christ; • To become more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit; • To present the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord; and • To build your prayer life. As children and youth fast, they, too, will receive the benefits and blessings of obedience and fasting. III. How to Fast • Eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. • Eat healthy vegetables, fruits, meats, breads, milk, and cereal. • Eat a healthy snack between meals such as fruit, vegetables, etc. • Drink WATER, 100% JUICE, and MILK as the only beverages. NO SWEETS, PIZZA, FRENCH FRIES, CHIPS, CANDY, CHEWING GUM, SOFT DRINKS, OR ANY OTHER JUNK FOODS! IV. What Are We Praying About During the Fast? Please help your child (ren) pray each prayer on the appropriate day as designated by the Prayer Topic Calendar. 7

Prayer Topic #1: A Prayer for Grace During the Extreme Heat in Houston Scripture Reading: Psalm 5:11, James 1:11 Scriptural Prayer: Our Father, thank You for being the most high and allowing us to live in your shelter where we will find rest in Your shadow. Thank You for Your shadow that is like a shield that covers us from the highest of heat and will not allow Your children to be burned by the flame of hatred. Thank You for being our refuge and place of safety, for You are God and we trust You. Righteous Father, we declare Your word of hope and restoration over excessively high temperatures and for people who cannot control their anger during hot times. We know that the generous will prosper and those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. We trust that we will not be harmed by this heat physically or emotionally. Your word says that ‘we can rejoice, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.” And this heat is a trial that we will triumph over and learn more than ever how to cleave to Your word. Holy Spirit, Your children need You to help us get through these hot months. Teach us to be patient and find cool places. We ask that you keep us from feeling the sting of this hot weather when it comes to our electric bills, heat stroke, and other heat-related injuries, people who get intensely angry in hot weather, people who do not have the means to cool their homes, people who have jobs that keep them in the heat, and the enemy who relishes the heat and enjoys the chaos that it causes. For as the deer longs for streams of water, so we long for You, O God, and thirst for You to bring your cooling rain. Merciful Father, forgive us when we do not read Your word and use it to bless each other. Your word says, “For where two or three gather together as My followers, I am there among them”. So, we are missing so many blessings when we do not gather and pray for each other, the elements, the world and so much more. Forgive us for forgetting that we can do everything through Christ who strengthens us. Help us to remain faithful and follow Your word by forgiving others who have wronged us. Help us to seek out people quickly that we are holding a grudge against so that we may offer swift forgiveness. Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens! Honor and majesty surround Him: strength and beauty fill His sanctuary. In Jesus name, Amen! Scripture References for the Written Text: Psalm 91:1-2, Proverbs 11:25, Romans 5:3, Psalm 42:1-2, Matthew 18:20, Philippians 4:13, Matthew 6:13, Psalm 96:4-6 10
Prayer Topic #2: A Prayer for Our Families Scripture Reading: Psalm 145:1-13, Deuteronomy 6:1-9 Scriptural Prayer: Awesome Father, our souls honor You! Thank You for creating families and for Your Word that instructs husbands and wives, parents and children how to treat each other. Thank You for surrounding our families with favor like a shield. Thank You for opening doors for us so that Your plans and purposes for us can be realized. Lord, You are great and Your power is absolute. Your understanding is beyond comprehension. We exalt You, our God and King, and praise Your Name forever and ever! Glorious Father, we confess that You are a sun and a shield for our families; You bestow favor and honor. No good thing will You withhold from those who do what is right. And as we approach You confidently for good things, we will keep on asking, and we will receive what we ask for. We will keep on seeking and we will find. We will keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to us. For Your promise is everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. By faith, we declare that our families will not forget to do good and to share with those in need, for these are the sacrifices that please You. The love of God will reign supreme in our homes and our families will obey Your Word. We will always be humble and gentle. We will be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of Your love. Holy Spirit, we ask that You give our families one heart and put a new spirit in each member. Help us to understand through God’s Word His love for our families, His will for our success and His wisdom regarding family unity and responsibilities. Show our families how to trust God through the challenges and changes of life and how to support and show favor to each other. Encourage our parents and help us to make wise choices that lead to daily achievements. Bring comfort, peace and healing to those families that are mentally and physically divided and, when needed, guide us towards appropriate counseling. Help children to respect and obey our parents. Motivate families to balance schedules so that we may spend quality time together; give us creative ways to connect and have fun. Merciful Father, please forgive families for all acts of sinfulness. Forgive us when we allow responsibilities such as jobs, school and extracurricular activities to have greater priority over our families. Forgive us when we take Your blessings as well as our loved ones for granted. Forgive those who do not pray for our families consistently. Lord, forgive me for any sins that I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind families of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help families not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Sovereign Lord, You are King! You are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. Your throne has stood from time immemorial. You are from the everlasting past. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer Topic #3: A Prayer for God’s Favor Scripture Reading: Psalm 103:1-8, Isaiah 61 Scriptural Prayer: Our Father, we give thanks to You for You are faithful even when we have been faithless. You are the Most High God, the only true and living God. You are excellent in all of Your ways. The heavens are Your throne and the earth Your footstool. Lord, You are good and Your faithful love endures forever. You are the great I Am, the Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father and Prince of Peace. You are our Creator and Savior. We will continually sing praises to You and declare that You are the King over all of the earth! Righteous Father, we declare that favor surrounds us like a shield! We will stand on Your Word and speak Your truth. Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light unto our path. Lord, it is Your will that we live life abundantly. Therefore, we confess that we will walk by faith and not by sight as we trust in Your precious promises. Lord, we trust and believe that no good thing will be kept from us as we walk uprightly before You. Lord, we expect You to put a wall of protection around us so that we will prosper in everything we do. Holy Spirit, please show us Your ways, teach us Your paths and lead us in Your truth. Help us to consistently demonstrate our gratitude to the Father for the abundant blessings in our lives and to always bring Him glory. Give us wisdom and vision so that our relationships bring honor to You. Strengthen us as we tell of Your favor to encourage our families and all those who are not seeking You. Lord, protect us from hurt and harm, fill our hearts with Your joy. Holy Spirit, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness including jealousy, rivalries, violence, injustice, hatred, oppression, greed, idolatry, pride, slander, lewd behaviors, selfish ambition, abuse of any type and division. Forgive those who choose not to trust in You. Forgive those who are Christians for not sharing Your Gospel with their family members, co-workers and others with whom they interact. Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Lord God Almighty, You are holy and righteous. You are great and deserving of praise. We love You and will bless Your Name forever. Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer Topic #4: A Declaration for Justice Scripture Reading: Psalm 118:1-9, Psalm 140 Scriptural Prayer: Eternal Father, we thank You for being the just Judge. Thank You for hearing us when we call to You for help for our nation. Thank You for moving on the hearts of Your people to establish peace, justice and righteousness in the earth. Lord, we will praise You with all of our hearts. Your love for us is so very great, we will give glory to Your Name forever! Lord, You have rescued us from the depths of death. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. Immortal Father, we command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream within our judicial system in America. Your Word says that justice and righteousness are more acceptable to You than sacrifice. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne. We confess that justice and righteousness will prevail in our nation, homes, workplaces, churches, schools and communities. You are the Lord who loves all of humankind; You are no respecter of persons. Lord, we believe that You will raise us above the injustices of racism that our nation has witnessed lately. We will not discriminate against anyone because of their race, their sex, or their age. We will not pay back evil with more evil, but we will always do things in such a way that everyone can see that we are honorable. Holy Spirit, please help our nation to heal from the wounds that the instances of injustice have inflicted on the American people. Remind the members of the Body of Christ to not sin by letting anger control them. Grant each of us the desire and commitment to daily walk in Your justice and righteousness without prejudice or partiality. Deal with the hearts of those Christians who practice this ungodliness. Remind them to walk in Your Spirit and not in their flesh. Guide parents on how to talk with their children about this subject in a way that will not instill fear, anger, or hatred. Holy Spirit, I ask that You search my heart for areas of hidden discrimination or bias and remove it immediately from me. Abba Father, forgive us for any acts of racism, sexism, and ageism. Forgive our nation for its injustice, prejudice, and oppression, for loving power and things instead of people. Please forgive those persons who are presently practicing racism, sexism, and ageism. Father, forgive me for any sins that I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Triumphant King, You are greater than any other god. You do whatever You please throughout all heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. You cause clouds to rise over the earth. You send lightning with the rain and release the winds from Your storehouses. Your Name, Lord, endures forever, Your fame is known to every generation. Yours, Lord, is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Scripture References for the Written Text: Psalm 7:11, Psalm 34:17, Psalm 86:12-13, Psalm 89:2, Amos 5:24, Proverbs 21:3, Psalm 89:14, Acts 10:34, Genesis 1:27, Romans 12:17, Ephesians 4:26, Matthew 6:13, Psalm 135:5-7 13
Prayer Topic #5: A Prayer for Physical Healing Scripture Reading: Psalm 145:3-21, James 5:13-16 Scriptural Prayer: Righteous Father, we thank You, for sending Your Word to heal us, and for snatching us from the power of death. Thank You, Jesus, for shedding Your blood so that people may be healed. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering the Word to provide healing when we speak it. Father, we praise and honor Your Name. Your Name is Lord and we will rejoice before You. You have been our home through all generations. We praise You, Lord God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Lord, what a variety of things You have made. In wisdom, You have made them all. The earth is full of Your creatures. Lord Jesus, You personally carried our sins in Your body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. Therefore, by Your wounds, we are healed. According to the authority that You have given us to heal the sick, we command Your Word to be operative in our bodies. Lord, we command our cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, exocrine, lymphatic, immune, muscular, skeletal, nervous, renal, urinary, reproductive, respiratory and sensory systems to operate perfectly. We command our red blood cells to carry the appropriate oxygen throughout our bodies and our white blood cells to form a protective shield against all sicknesses. Your Word will penetrate deep into our hearts and bodies. Holy Spirit, we ask You to strengthen those of us who are weak and increase power to those who have no might. Remind those of us who are battling with illnesses to confess Your Word daily; just as we would take prescribed medicine. Give medical practitioners wisdom to provide effective treatment. Remind us all to eat healthy foods, exercise and get the proper rest. Help those who are struggling with receiving help to accept the kindness of others. Holy Spirit, please help them to guard their hearts and minds from doubt and unbelief. Holy Spirit, please give us all comfort and help us to walk by faith. Loving Father, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness, including worry, fear and for walking in doubt and disobedience. Forgive those who do not diligently seek after You. Lord, forgive me for any sins I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Lord, You are greater than we can understand. Your years cannot be counted. You draw up the water vapor and distill it into rain. Only You know where light comes from and where darkness goes. You direct the movement of the stars, binding the cluster of the Pleiades and loosening the cords of Orion. Holy and triumphant is Your Name! In Jesus’ name, Amen. Scripture References for the Written Text: Psalm 107:20, Psalm 90:1, Psalm 41:13, Psalm 104:24, I Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5 NKJV, Isaiah 40:29, Matthew 6:13, Job 36:26-27, Job 38:19,31 14
Prayer Topic #6: A Prayer for Our Communities Scripture Reading: Psalm 103, Hebrews 8:6-11 Scriptural Prayer: Awesome Father, thank You for Your provisions for residents and businesses in our communities. We thank You, Lord, for safety and protection for every family. We thank You for having plans for good and not disaster for us, to give us a future and a hope. Thank You for blessing us with Your perfect peace as we keep our thoughts fixed on You. We sing praises to You, our Father, and declare that You are the King over all of the earth! Wonderful Father, You are the Light and Salvation for all in our communities, so we will not be afraid. You are our fortress, protecting us from danger so we will not tremble. By faith, we declare that we will live peacefully and safely in our dwellings and that our homes will be places of rest and relaxation. We will be kindhearted neighbors, working together to maintain a peaceful community. Lord, we expect You to place a wall of protection around us, our homes and properties. When our enemies come against us like a flood, we are confident that You will raise up a standard against them. Lord, we trust and believe that no good thing will be withheld from us as we walk uprightly before You. Holy Spirit, help us to share Christ with our unsaved neighbors. Incline their hearts to seek You first and search Your Word for wisdom as we all live peaceably among one another. Impress upon us to extend our gifts and talents to community opportunities, such as nearby schools and businesses. Unify our communities and help us to stand against violence, crime and injustice. Remind us to watch out for our neighbors, especially the children and seniors; let Your Spirit of love permeate our communities. Holy Spirit, forgive our communities for all acts of sinfulness including gossiping, lying, fornication, adultery, idolatry, profanity, deception, drunkenness, gluttony, drug abuse, theft and all other sins. Forgive us for rebellion and selfishness. Lord, please help us to forgive any past mistakes and hurts caused by neighbors so that You can heal us. Remind the people of our communities of those they need to forgive and help them to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help our communities not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one. Eternal Lord, You are the blessed and Sovereign One; the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man can see. Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Scripture References for the Written Text: Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 26:3, Psalm 47:6-7, Psalm 27:1, Isaiah 32:18, Psalm 34:14, Job 1:10, Matthew 6:13, I Timothy 6:15-16 15
Prayer Topic #7: A Prayer of Salvation Scripture Reading: Psalm 99, Ephesians 2:1-10 Scriptural Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your tender mercies and unfailing love. Thank You for providing a way for sinners to be reconciled back to You. Thank You for enlightening our hearts to say “yes” to You when You called us. Lord, You are very great and Your power is absolute. Your understanding is beyond comprehension. We come clapping our hands and shouting joyful praises to You, our God. Most High, You are awesome. You are the great King of all the earth. Our Father, it is Your desire that all people be saved and understand the truth. We confess that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the only gate by which people are saved. We commit to sharing the Gospel with our unsaved family members, friends, co-workers and enemies. We will not be afraid or intimidated, but we will share the Good News of Jesus Christ with boldness, confidence and love. We declare that when our unsaved family members, friends, co-workers and enemies confess with their mouths, the Lord Jesus, and believe in their hearts that You raised Jesus from the dead, they will be saved. Father, we declare that they will know the truth, and the truth will set them free. Gracious Father, we cry out to You to clear the way so that Your Gospel may be preached in every city, state, country, and continent. Surround the unsaved with the counsel of the Godly so that they may be washed in the water of Your Word; stripped of the old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds, and put on their new nature so that they will be renewed as they learn to know their Creator and become like Him. Holy Spirit, we ask You to circumcise the hearts of those who are in a backslidden state. Like the prodigal child, help them to come to themselves and return to You, their first love. Remind them that nothing can ever separate them from God’s love; not death, life, angels, demons, fears for today or worries about tomorrow, not even the powers of hell can separate them from the Father’s love. Help us, the Body of Christ, to present the Gospel with compassion, hope, and patience. Precious Father, forgive the unsaved and backsliders for not acknowledging You or Your Son. Forgive them for disobedience, hatred, rebellion, idolatry, and rejection of Your Gospel. Please have mercy upon them and extend Your grace toward them. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for not sharing Jesus and the Gospel with more people. Forgive us for being timid and reserved about sharing the Gospel. Lord, forgive me for any sins that I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind the unsaved and backslider of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help the unsaved and backslider not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one. Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to You, the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever. For Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer Topic #8: A Prayer of Thanksgiving Scripture Reading: Psalm 136:1-9, Ephesians 5:15-20 Scriptural Prayer: Eternal Father, we thank You for giving us Your Name and making us Your children. Thank You for giving us a future and a hope. Thank You for being our Shepherd and protecting us. Thank You for protecting our children and blessing them to grow in Your wisdom and stature. Thank You for providing us with our daily bread. Lord, we give thanks to You, for You are good. Your faithful love endures forever. We give thanks to You, the Lord of lords. Your faithful love endures forever. To You, who alone does mighty miracles. You are the God who made the heavens so skillfully. You laid out the earth above the waters. We thank You, Father, for forgiving our sins, healing all of our diseases, redeeming us from death, crowning us with Your loving-kindness and tender mercies, filling our lives with good things and renewing our youth like the eagles. We are blessed to have You as our Father. Triumphant Father, we magnify Your Name. You are an excellent Father and we love You. Holy Spirit, please help us to always walk in an attitude of thankfulness. Help us to daily look for things to praise and thank the Father for. Help each parent to cultivate a spirit of thankfulness in their child. As a Church Family, help us to always remain thankful and to not take any of the things that You are doing within and through our congregation for granted. Loving Father, forgive us for being ungrateful and unappreciative. Forgive us for acting spoiled and arrogant. Forgive us for always wanting more and not counting our blessings. Forgive us for acts of rebellion and disobedience. Father, thank You for not dealing with us according to our sins nor punishing us according to our iniquities. Lord, forgive me for any sins that I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, as a Church Family, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one. Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to You, Lord, who sits on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever. You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created. Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Prayer Topic #9: A Back-to-School Prayer Scripture Reading: Psalm 111, Daniel 1 Scriptural Prayer: Our Father, we praise and thank You for our educators and students. Thank You for each school and school district. Thank You for surrounding each educator and student with favor like a shield. We exalt You, our God and King and praise Your Name forever and ever. We will praise You every day and forever. Lord You are great and most worthy of praise; no one can measure Your greatness. Each generation will tell its children of Your mighty acts and proclaim Your power. Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Triumphant Father, we confess that like Jesus, our students will grow in wisdom, stature and favor with You and all people. We declare that we will focus on our studies during the school term and not grow distracted or complacent. Each student will work willingly in our classes as though we were working for You. Lord, we declare that no evil will conquer us, nor will any plague come near our homes or schools. We expect for You to order Your angels to protect us wherever we go. We confess that we will respect and obey the instructions of our parents, teachers and school administrators. We declare that the wise instruction of the teachers will be like a life-giving fountain to each student. In Jesus’ Name, each parent will direct our children onto the right path, and when we are older we will not leave it. Our students will have good success because we will meditate daily and obey Your Word. Holy Spirit, impart into our students Your spirit of excellence, like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and AbedNego. Bless our educators for their service to the Houston community and surrounding communities. Keep our classrooms safe and guide the learning process. Grant each teacher wisdom, creativity, and grace to teach each child according to his or her needs, level of intelligence, and learning capabilities. We ask You to increase the capacity of the students to learn, comprehend and excel in all areas of our education including: reading, mathematics, sciences, arts, and all required testing. During our extracurricular activities, please protect us from injury. Help each student to develop Godly friendships this school year. Holy Spirit, create within each student, teacher, and administrator an excitement, passion and academic desire as we enter the new school year. Merciful Father, forgive the sins of our educators and students. Forgive those of us in the Body of Christ, for being negligent in teaching our students to first reverence You, which is the foundation of true knowledge. Forgive those parents for sacrificing our students to excessive television, video games, music and to the ways and customs of the world. Forgive us, as a nation, for devaluing the worth of teachers and education. Lord, forgive me for any sins that I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind our educators and students of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help our educators and students not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Exalted Lord, You are worthy to receive glory, honor and power. You created all things, and we exist because You created what You pleased. Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer Topic #10: A Declaration of Kingdom Financial Blessings Scripture Reading: Psalm 113, I Kings 17:8-16 Scriptural Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your eternal love and unmerited grace. We thank You for Your love for us that never ceases and Your mercy which never comes to an end. Your mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Thank You, Father, for being our strength, our shield, our provider and our Savior. You are great and You do wondrous things. You are God alone. Lord, You are in Your Holy temple; You are on Your heavenly throne. You closely watch everyone, examining every person on earth. We will praise You, Lord, every day and forever. Ps 145:2 Righteous Father, as Kingdom citizens, it is Your will that we excel in the area of our finances. We recognize that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Therefore, we will earn, save, spend and invest money in obedience to Your perfect plan for our lives and our families. We confess that as You bring financial blessings into our lives, we will remember that it is You who gives us the power to get wealth so that the covenant which You swore to our fathers will be established and we will be positioned as instruments to build Your Kingdom. Father, we confess that all that we set our hands to do is blessed because You have commanded blessings on our storehouses, including savings, investments and retirement accounts. Lord, we declare that as Your blessings overtake us, we will be able to lend money to many and not have to borrow from anyone. We confess that as we bring the tithes into Your house, we are expecting You to pour out blessings that we will not have room to receive and You will rebuke the devourer for our sakes. Lord, because we will be faithful stewards of Your financial blessings, we expect You to confirm Your Word and make us rulers over abundant wealth. Holy Spirit, we ask that You help us to bind mercy and truth around our necks and write them on our hearts; causing us to have favor in Your sight and in the sight of man. Lord, help us to study Your Word, to meditate on it day and night and observe to do the things written within it, so that we may make our way prosperous and have good success. Holy Spirit, help Christians to build business and personal relationships with others. We pray for a breaking of old mindsets and generational curses of poverty and lack within the families of our congregation. Forgiving Father, forgive us for our sins. Forgive us for. Forgive those in our congregation and our communities for repeating patterns of financial failures such as living beyond our means and misusing credit cards. Forgive those in our congregation who demonstrate poverty-like conditions to our children. Forgive us for words and thoughts of doubt and unbelief. Father, forgive us for walking by sight, rather than walking in faith. Lord, forgive me for any sins I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Glorious God, Yours if the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours. This is Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer Topic #11: A Prayer of Preparation for the Fall Feasts Scripture Reading: Psalm 19, Leviticus 23:23-44 Scriptural Prayer: Our Father, thank You for Your appointed times and seasons. We thank You for demonstrating Your unfailing love towards us. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us from the power of the evil one. We are thankful for Your presence in our lives. Great is Your faithfulness; Your mercies begin afresh each day. Lord, the earth is Yours and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Loving Father, by faith, we anticipate the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Tabernacles to experience Your love, power, and presence. On the day of the Feast of Trumpets, when the trumpets sound, we as a Church Family will assemble together and respond to the call to honor Your faithfulness. During the Day of Atonement, we will afflict our souls with prayer and fasting. We will re-evaluate our lives, repent for our sins, and draw closer to You. As we prepare for these special observances, we will also remember that the blood of goats or calves no longer atones for our sins; but it is the blood of Jesus Christ, who through the eternal Spirit, offered Himself to You to cleanse our consciences from dead works. During the Feast of Tabernacles, we will remember that Christ has become our High Priest over all the good things that have come. He has entered that greater, more perfect Tabernacle in heaven, which was not made by human hands. Jesus Christ, our big brother, has secured our redemption forever. Father God, please extend Your mercy toward us as we prepare for this consecrated season. During this time, please help us to prepare our hearts and minds in the way that is pleasing to You. Holy Spirit, help us to reflect, repent, and remember. Please help us to slow down during this season and spend quality time with You. Show us what needs to be changed or improved in our lives. Continue to touch our hearts about Your will for our lives. Cause Your peace to settle into our hearts. Faithful Father, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness including: idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, homosexuality, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, and revelries. Forgive us not spending enough time with You. Forgive those who do not choose to observe Your appointed Feasts. Lord, forgive me for any sins I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive; and we will be quick to forgive. Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Lord, there is none like You. You are great and Your Name is full of power. Who would not fear You, O King of the nations? That title belongs to You, alone! Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like You. You are the only true and living God and the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at Your anger and the nations hide before Your wrath. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer Topic #12: A Prayer of Preparation for Our Church Family Fast Scripture Reading: Psalm 103, Joel 2:12-19 Scriptural Prayer: Blessed Father, we thank You for our Windsor Village Church Family. Thank You for a consecrated season of prayer and fasting. Thank You for coming close to us as we come close to You. We are grateful that You are our God and we bless Your wonderful Name. Heavenly Father, Your majestic Name fills the earth! Your glory is higher than the heavens. You have taught children and infants to tell of Your strength, silencing Your enemies and all who oppose You. With all our hearts, we will praise You and tell of the marvelous things You have done. We will sing praises to Your Name, Lord Most High. Lord, You are in Your holy Temple; You still rule from heaven. You closely watch everyone, examining every person on the earth. Gracious Father, we make preparation to enter into the season of fasting as a united staff and Church Family. During the fast, we confess that we will give our bodies to You because of all You have done for us. We will let them be living and holy sacrifices—the kind that You will find acceptable. For we know that this is truly how we can worship You. We will choose not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but we will let You, Father, transform us into new people by changing the way we think. Then, we will learn to know Your will for our lives, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Lord, we decree that Your chosen fast will be operable in our lives through the Promise of Giving as we feed the hungry and help those in trouble. As we do this, our light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around us will be as bright as noon. Father, we will be diligent in prayer without ceasing during this time of fasting. We will meditate on Your Word—day and night, and observe to do all that is within it. Holy Spirit, we ask You to give us the power to overcome our fleshly appetites during the time of fasting. Help us to follow You and the instructions given during the Church Family Fast. As we pray during the fast, Father, please speak to us and give us wisdom, increase our discernment and show us Your plans for our lives individually as well as corporately for this season. Touch the hearts of all our staff and Church Family members to make the decision to join us on the fast. Lord, as we pray, please hear our prayers. Holy Spirit, teach us how to honor Jesus Christ, our Savior and to revere God, our Father, as we worship Him in spirit and in truth. Righteous Father, forgive us as a staff for our sins. Please forgive those of us for stubbornness, selfishness and/or rebellion. Please help us all to submit to this time of fasting and trust You. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. Holy Spirit, as a staff, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Holy Lord, You alone are God. You are great! You are robed with honor and majesty. You are dressed in a robe of light. You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens. You lay the rafters of Your home in the rain clouds. You make the clouds Your chariot and ride upon the wings of the wind. The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is Your Name! In Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer Topic #13: A Prayer of Repentance and Self-Examination Scripture Reading: II Samuel 22:1-16, Psalm 139 Scriptural Prayer: Generous Father, we thank You for providing a special time of the year for us to examine our lives and to make the necessary adjustments and corrections. Thank You for saving us and giving us eternal life. Thank You for being compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. We will praise You, Lord, with all our hearts; We will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. We will be filled with joy because of You and sing praises to Your Name. Because of Your unfailing love, we can enter Your house; we will worship at Your Temple with deepest awe. Heavenly Father, Your Word says that those who stand in Your presence must have clean hands and a pure heart. We cannot worship idols or speak lies. During this week of repentance and self-reflection, we take the time to examine ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to show us where we have sinned. We confess that we will not be like those who steal, murder, commit adultery, lie, and bow to the gods of this world and then run into Your house declaring that we are safe, only to return to the same evil again. During this time of repentance, we will be honest with You and ourselves about the condition of our lives. We are a people who love You wholeheartedly and trust You with our lives. Holy Spirit, as You show us our sins this week, we will repent and turn away from them. As a Church Family, we choose to discipline our bodies and minds and bring them into subjection; so that our witness to other people is genuine and we will not later find ourselves disqualified. Holy Spirit, help us to overcome pride and any obstacles that keep us from growing in God. We know that a heart without God is deceitful above all things, and it is desperately wicked. So, please search our hearts and test our minds. Create in us a clean heart and renew in us a right spirit. Help us, Holy Spirit, to release all control to You daily, so that Your fruit will operate in us. Loving Father, forgive us collectively and individually for the sins that we have committed against You. Forgive us where we have grown lukewarm in our relationship with You. Forgive us for lying, murmuring and complaining. Holy Spirit, shine Your light of revelation upon our hearts and show us the areas in our lives where we need to repent. Lord, forgive me for any sins I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one. Triumphant Lord, You are the only true and living God. You are the everlasting King! The whole earth trembles at Your anger. The nations hide before Your wrath. You merely spoke, and the heavens were created. You breathed the word, and all the stars were born. Let everyone in the world fear You, Lord, and let them stand in awe of You. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Holy Spirit, we thank You for Your manifested presence saturating the sanctuary and our congregation as we gather to exalt the Name of the King of kings and Lord of lords. You are great and perform wondrous deeds. You alone are God. We praise You for Your loving kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness. Father, through all generations You have been our home! Before the mountains were born, before You gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, You are God. Royal Father, as Kingdom citizens, we shout with joy to You. We worship You with gladness and come before Your presence with joyful singing. You are the Lord, our God! You made us, and we are Yours. We are Your people, the sheep of Your pasture. We enter with thanksgiving and come into Your courts with praise. We give thanks to You and praise Your Name. Lord, You are good; Your unfailing love continues forever and Your faithfulness to each generation. We enter into Your sanctuary with our thanksgiving and praise. We declare that our worship and praise will produce spectacular sounds like the Levites who praised You in Your holy temple. As You inhabit our praises, we declare that salvation, healing, restoration and deliverance will come forth. By faith, we declare that every member of the Body of Christ will worship You in Spirit and Truth. By doing this, we will become the true worshippers You are seeking. Holy Spirit, since our worship is a direct reflection of our relationship with the Father, help each of us to examine that relationship and make whatever adjustments are needed so that our praise may be pleasing to our King. Let Your glory fill us and our churches. Help us to live lifestyles of praise and not wait until we get to Church to begin to exalt our King. Sanctify and purify our hearts so that our worship is a sweet aroma to God, our Father, as we sing melodious songs of praise to Him. Merciful Father, forgive us for allowing our emotions and circumstances to dictate the level of praise that we offer to You. Forgive those who intentionally arrive late to service in an attempt to miss praise and worship. Forgive those who do not actively participate in praise and worship. Forgive those who are not living lives that reflect their love for You. Lord, forgive me for any sins I may have committed. Prayer Topic #15: A Prayer about Materialism Scripture Reading: I Chronicles 16, Matthew 6:19-34 Scriptural Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our source and supply. Thank You for meeting all of our needs from Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Thank You for being our Shepherd so we will not want for anything. We will exalt You and praise Your Name forever and ever. Lord, You are great and most worthy of praise! No one can measure Your greatness. You always keep Your promises, and You are gracious in all that You do. Father, You help the fallen and lift up those who are bent beneath their loads. We look to You in hope, and You give us our food as we need it. When You open Your hand, You satisfy the hunger and the thirst of every living thing. Faithful Father, we confess that we will store our treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust can destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal. We agree with Your Word that our lives are not measured by how much we own; therefore, we will beware of and resist covetousness. Father, we cannot serve two masters, so by faith, we will not worry about everyday life. We know that life is more than food and our bodies are more than clothing. Therefore, we will seek Your Kingdom above all else and live righteously, knowing that You will give us everything we need. Lord, we confess that we will not trust in uncertain riches, but we will trust in You, the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. We will use our money to do good and be generous to those in need, ready to share with others. By doing so, we will store up our treasures as a good foundation for the future so that we experience true life. Holy Spirit, please help us to be Godly and wise consumers. Please break the bondage of conspicuous consumption within our nation. Help us to be better stewards of the resources with which we are blessed. Rewire our thinking as it pertains to saving, investing and spending. Help us to be more disciplined with our lifestyles. Enlighten our hearts to Your wisdom and self-control so that we can begin to build wealth for the next generation. Teach us how to be content with what we have instead of always wanting more. Give guidance and favor to those who are in financial trouble. Merciful Father, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness including, greed, selfish ambition, idolatry, conceit and arrogance. Prayer Topic #16: A Feast of Trumpets Prayer Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 16:19-21, Colossians 1:15-23 Scriptural Prayer: Holy Father, we thank You for bringing us through the journey of the past year. We thank You for giving us a hope and a future. Thank You for redeeming our souls through the Blood of Jesus. Thank You for new beginnings and Your redemptive power at work in us through the Holy Spirit. Together, as a Church Family, we rejoice in the celebration of the Feast of Trumpets. We will thank You, Lord, among all the people. We will sing Your praises among the nations, for Your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Majestic Father, we are grateful to enter into this season humbly and soberly. We understand that only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols, and who never tell lies, can stand in Your holy presence. We thank You for making us holy, blameless, and above reproach through Jesus Christ. It is through His blood; our hearts are made pure and our hands are made clean. Therefore, we decree that our Church Family stands together in deep appreciation for the gift of Your grace. We know that our righteousness was not secured by the good things we’ve done. We cannot boast or take any credit, Jesus, You are the source of our redemption. We will use this time during this season to examine ourselves to see if our faith is genuine. As part of the Feast of Trumpets, You have directed us to reconcile with persons who may have wronged us during the past year. We commit to mending our relationships. Father, You have begun a good work in us and we are confident that You will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit, lead those within our Church Family who still do not celebrate the feasts into a deeper revelation of the blessing in obeying the Father’s commandments. Remind us all of the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness to us and to our families throughout the past year. While we observe the Feast of Trumpets, alert us to anything that may be keeping us from experiencing true intimacy with You. Help us to remember the wonders He has performed, His miracles, and the rulings He has given. Give us a strong conviction about the kind of example we are setting with our family and friends as we begin the new year. Our Father, forgive us, as a Church Family, for our past sins. Forgive us for offering sacrifices, rather than obedience. Forgive us for not acknowledging You in all our ways and for leaning to our own understanding. Lord, forgive me for any sins I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. We will not take past offenses into the new year. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Sovereign Lord, You are great and most worthy of praise! You are to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but You made the heavens. Honor and majesty surround You. Prayer Topic #17: A Prayer for the Day of Atonement Scripture Reading: Psalm 135, Psalm 32 Scriptural Prayer: Our Father in heaven, we honor Your Name. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, as the sacrificial lamb and High Priest who atones for our sins. It is because of Him, we can say, “Abba Father,” and for this we are grateful. Thank You for this special time of refreshing, repentance, and restoration. Thank You for taking the legalism, ritualism, and religiosity out of this day by making it about restoring, reestablishing, and strengthening our relationship with You and others. We are so appreciative that You desire, that we, Your children, experience Your atonement every year. No pagan god is like You, O Lord; none can do what You do! All the nations You made will come and bow before You, Lord; they will praise Your holy Name. You are great, and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God. Glorious Father, we acknowledge that we all have sinned and fallen short of Your glorious standard. But, You, in Your gracious kindness have declared us not guilty because of the sacrifice of our Lord, Christ Jesus. Lord, we are expecting You to hear us, forgive our sins, and heal our land because we, the children of Windsor Village, are Your people who are called by Your Name, who humble ourselves and pray and seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways. We declare that we will strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. We will continue to run with endurance the race that You have set before us. We come with the expectation that all guilt, shame, regret, disgrace, defilement, and dishonor will be eradicated from our lives because we know that when we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Hallel YAH! Loving Father, search our hearts and know our thoughts. Point out anything in us that offends You and lead us along the path of everlasting life. Holy Spirit, help us to admit our sin and guilt and to come into agreement with the Father about our sin. Bring to our remembrance any past sins which we may have buried deep down because the thought of them may be too painful. Help us to deal with and process any secret sins which we do not want others to know about. Holy Spirit, lead us to and help us receive God’s forgiveness and restoration. Help us to accept and fully understand God’s love for us and not get stuck in regret and condemnation. Assist us in repentance by helping us to turn away, walk away, stay away, and to never look back. Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Loving Father, as a Church Family, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Reigning Lord, You are Holy. You are the blessed and only Almighty God, the King of kings and Lord of lords. You alone can never die, and You live in light so brilliant that no human can approach You. No one has ever seen You, nor ever will. To You be honor and power forever, in Jesus’ name, Amen. Prayer Topic #18: A Feast of Tabernacles Prayer Scripture Reading: Psalm 29, Deuteronomy 16:13-17 Scriptural Prayer Abba Father, we thank You for calling us to worship You and bring You gifts during the Feast of Tabernacles. Thank You, Jesus, for teaching us God’s Word as You taught the Israelites at the Temple in Jerusalem during the Festival of Tabernacles. Holy Spirit, we thank You for bringing God’s Word to our remembrance which tells us to celebrate this special Feast each year from generation to generation. O God, You are our God; we earnestly search for You. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how we praise You! Glorious Father, the Feast of Tabernacles belongs to You, and we will all appear before You, O Lord our God, at the place You choose. We commit to appearing before You with special gifts. Lord, we will come before You joyfully declaring that this festival will be a happy time of celebration. For seven days, we will celebrate this festival to honor You, Lord, at the place You choose, for You have blessed us with bountiful harvests and have given us success in all our work. We declare that this festival will be a time of great joy for all. While we remember that You brought the children of Israel out of Egypt and had them live in temporary shelters, we will remember that Jesus Christ has become our permanent shelter. We anticipate Your glory “tabernacling” among us during this exciting feast. We are expecting your presence, anointing, healing, power, joy, peace, and love. Heavenly Father, we pray for Your provision of both the time and the resources to celebrate this festival in a way that will be pleasing to You. Grant us favor with our employers during the festival. Holy Spirit, bring to our minds the special gifts we should bring to the Lord on each of the seven days of the festival. Help us to be grateful for God’s bountiful provision of all that we need so we may be generous in our giving. Holy Father, when You brought Your people out of Egypt, they refused to obey and did not remember the miracles You had done for them. Instead, they became stubborn and appointed a leader to take them back to their slavery in Egypt! But You are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love. You did not abandon them. In Your mercy, Father, forgive those of us for being slow or reluctant to be grateful for the many blessings You have bestowed upon us. Forgive those who are disobedient to Your Word and fail to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles with joy and gratitude. Lord, forgive me for any sins I may have committed. Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one. Lord, You are King! Let the nations tremble! You sit on Your throne between the cherubim. Let the whole earth quake! You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all the nations. Let them praise Your great and awesome Name. Your Name is holy! Mighty King, lover of justice, You have established fairness. You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel. We exalt You, Lord our God! We bow low before Your feet, for You are holy! In Jesus’ name, Amen! The Lulav & The Etrog During this fall harvest festival, we are giving thanks to God for meeting our needs and for being present with us. God often uses physical symbols to remind us of important spiritual concepts. One tradition associated with Sukkot is the making of a "Lulav" (LOO-lav) or bouquet of three branches. One, long-held interpretation of the three different "species" present in the bouquet is that the grouping reminds us of how our body is built to serve God. 1. The PALM ("Lulav" in Hebrew) reminds us of the backbone of a person. We are called to be "upright" in our lifestyle. (Psalm 11:7) 2. The MYRTLE corresponds to our eyes. We must develop spiritual eyes to see as God sees. (Matthew 7) 3. The WILLOW refers to our lips. We are to speak as God would have us speak and to learn to pray. (1 Peter 3:10) The Etrog is a lemon-like citrus fruit from the citron tree. During the Feast of Tabernacles, it is used as a visual symbol, along with the Lulav bouquet. The Etrog can represent the human heart. It is the place of understanding in wisdom within a person. Only God can give us a pure heart as we open up to His Word and to His love. During the Feast of Tabernacles, the Lulav and Etrog are used in prayer during the eight days of the festival. Please see the attachment below for instructions on how to pray using the Lulav and Etrog. HOW TO MAKE A LULAV: Go to a florist shop, Home Depot, Wal-Mart or any store that has a nursery, and purchase a palm frond (18-24"), a sprig of myrtle, and a sprig of willow (each 8-12"). Tie the non-leafy ends together with string or ribbon. Make sure the leaves are still free to "shake" at the top. Option: Take a nature walk. Find 3 different species of branching leaves (i.e., pine, oak, & sweet gum). Tie them together and use them as your Lulav. This is a great opportunity to spend time with the family. 28
Family/Group Celebration Activity: The Feast of Tabernacles is a celebration (a Holy Ghost party!) of God’s presence with us in the Person of Jesus Christ--our Emmanuel--and it is also a celebration of God’s provision for us, as we thank Him for the harvest of good food to eat. So, put on some upbeat, God-honoring music. As a family or group, take time to brighten your home with party decorations and seasonal fruits and vegetables! Decorating Suggestions: Put up colorful streamers; put out palm branches; put out a fruit bowl; put dried squash and corn on the mantel; make a lulav (LOO-lahv) and display it proudly in your home. Make “Feast of Tabernacles” posters, paintings, drawings, etc. with images of a house with Jesus living in it and/or pictures of God giving us food. 29
Monday: God shows me the way of life. He gives to me the joy of His presence and the pleasures of living with Him forever. Psalm 16:11 Tuesday: The joy of Your salvation is restored unto me, and helps me to be obedient to You. Psalm 51:12 Wednesday: I count it as joy when trouble comes my way. I will grow as a result of the testing of my faith. Then when I am fully developed, I will be strong in character and ready for anything. James 1:2-4 (NKJV) Thursday: I will abide in God’s love and will be filled with joy, because I keep His commandments. John 15:10-11 Friday: God has given me beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, and praise instead of despair.
