HOW TO USE THE POWER GUIDE Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. I John 5:14-15 The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based on the model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13). In order to maximize the use of your guide, please follow the listed instructions. 1. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s). Gradually build your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes each day. You can split up your prayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the morning and evening. You choose the time of day that is good for you. Find a comfortable place to pray and turn off any distractions. If you have small children who need most of your attention, pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s Word saturate their hearing. 2. Refer to the Prayer Topic Calendar on page 7 for the specific prayer for the day. Only pray for the prayer topic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying. Please do not get ahead of the prayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,” first read the Scriptures listed for “Scripture Reading.” 3. Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents, please encourage your children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out loud. Youth (ages 13-17) may use the Adult Power Guide. 4. These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful conversations. Trust the Holy Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are praying for the day. If you speak in tongues, please pray in tongues over each prayer topic. Relax, listen and enjoy the Lord. 5. Record any reflections, revelations, or inspiration given by the Holy Spirit in the Prayer Expectation section at the end of the Power Guide. 6. Believe that the Lord is hearing your prayer and know in your heart that your praying will produce God’s results for the prayer topic you are praying for. 7. After praying, make your daily power confession by using the Daily Power Confessions located at the end of your Power Guide. When you speak God’s Word over your life, you activate the power of His Word to work in your life and produce God’s results for your life. Expect God’s Word to transform your life. Scriptures to Fight for Pastor Kirbyjon Psalm 5:12 – For You, O Lord, bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him like a shield. We expect You to bless Pastor Kirbyjon and surround him with favor like a shield. Psalm 23 – LORD, You are Pastor Kirbyjon’s shepherd; He has all that he needs. 2 You let him rest in green meadows; You lead him beside peaceful streams. 3 You renew his strength. You guide him along right paths, bringing honor to Your name. 4 Even as he walks through the darkest valley, he will not be afraid, for You are close beside him. Prayer Topic #1: A Prayer of Healing over COVID, Cold and Flu Scripture Reading: Psalm 96, Isaiah 53:4-5 Reflections of the Heart: Although we have been greatly impacted by COVID-19, and while the world has declared it cold and flu season, as children of the Most High God, our expectation remains to walk in health and wholeness! Scriptural Prayer: Righteous Father, we thank You for being Jehovah Rapha, the Lord God who heals. Thank You for keeping our bodies healthy. Thank You for strengthening our immune systems and helping us to ward off infections and viruses. We sing praises to You and Your name. We will sing loud praises to You, the One who rides the clouds. Your name is the Lord, we rejoice in Your presence. We praise You Lord, our Savior. Each day You carry us in Your arms. Sovereign God, You save us and rescue us from death. Lord, we are like olive trees, thriving in Your house. We will always trust in Your unfailing love. We will praise You forever for what You have done for us. We will trust in Your name in the presence of Your faithful people. Eternal Father, it is Your will that all will be well with us and that we are as healthy in our bodies as we are strong in our spirits. As we make You our refuge and our shelter, no evil will conquer us, nor will any plague come near our homes. According to Your Word, when we call on You, You will answer us; You will be with us in trouble and will rescue and honor us. With long life You will satisfy us, and show us Your salvation. Father, we expect this Word to operate in our lives concerning COVID-19 and during the cold and flu season. We declare that our immune systems are healthy and strong. We confess that as a Church Family, we will do the practical things in the natural to protect ourselves including eating properly, getting the proper amount of rest and drinking plenty of water. We declare that we will take our vitamins and exercise so that our immune systems will not be compromised. We will wash our hands and teach our children good hygiene practices. For those who have COVID, a cold or the flu, we command healing to manifest in their bodies and confess a quick recovery time for them. All our years will be pleasant! Job 35:11 Scriptural Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for being our God. Thank You for our Pastors and Church Family. Father, we thank You for surrounding us with Your favor like a shield. Thank You for continuing to open doors of financial opportunity. We praise You with all of our hearts; we will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. Your reign is forever. You execute judgment from Your throne. You judge the world with justice and the people righteously. Father, Your righteousness reaches to the highest heavens. You have done wonderful things! Who can compare with You? Lord of Heaven’s Armies, let justice roll down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream. By faith, we decree that Your Spirit remains among us, so we are not afraid. Scriptural Prayer Heavenly Father, we thank You for our U.S. Military personnel. We especially thank You for those men and women who sacrificed their lives to defend this nation. Thank You for being a Comforter, Provider, and Protector for those family members of our U.S. Military Personnel. Lord, we praise and honor Your name. Your name is the Lord and we rejoice before You. You have been our home through all the generations. We praise You, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen! O Lord, what a variety of things You have made. In wisdom, You have made them all. The earth is full of Your creatures. Lord, You are a faithful, loving, and compassionate God and we bless You. Righteous Father, we declare that You are the light and salvation of our military personnel; they will not be afraid. You are their fortress and their protection from danger; they will not tremble. We declare that any enemy or foe who comes to attack them will stumble and fall. We confess that our soldiers will trust in You with all of their hearts and they will not depend on their own understanding. They will seek Your will in all that they do, and we know that You will show them which path to take. We declare that our military personnel are blessed and highly favored. We decree that they will submit themselves to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from them. As our soldiers return home, Holy Spirit, help them to process all they have experienced. Heal any physical and emotional wounds. Please help them with their familial, social, and professional relationships. Lord, we ask that the wait times for appointments at the VA Hospital will be shortened and that each veteran will be treated with dignity and respect. Holy Spirit, we ask that You give our government officials the wisdom on how to cut down on the red tape that ensnares so many veterans from receiving all of the benefits they are entitled to. As a nation, help us to not overlook or discount the sacrifices our military veterans have made for the freedom of our nation. 15


Forgiving Father, please forgive our active and inactive military personnel for their sins. The historically majority White population in America has created and selectively enforced laws to oppress Black people and other people of color. Our government and judicial systems have also routinely supported the use of excessive force by police, especially against Black people, in “protecting” the privileged. The current gap in policing practices is so wide that while members of the White population feel comfort and security when they see police, Black citizens often experience fear and dread. Holy Father, You created people to be virtuous, but many have turned to follow their own downward path. Many people in this country discriminate against people simply because of the color of their skin. Lord, Your Word confirms that the human heart is the most deceitful of all things and that You search all hearts and examine secret motives. You give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve. Lord, we pray that You change the hearts of people in America who discriminate against others on the basis of race and socioeconomic status. Even people who profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior have supported racism in America - sometimes openly, and often through their silence - “minding their own business,” as systemic injustice protected their power and privilege. Lord, Your Word is clear, and we stand on Your Word as we pull down the strongholds in the hearts and minds of government officials, law enforcement and citizens who believe they are entitled to reign over segments of people in Your creation. Father, Your Word says there is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For we all are one in Christ Jesus. So, we pull down the demonic strongholds in the minds of those who 21


consider themselves privileged and entitled, and we declare that all members of the Body of Christ will love their neighbors as they love themselves. Lord, mature adults have worked hard all of their lives and some of them have seen their retirement funds depleted. Please open up new revenue streams so that they will not have to struggle or go without financially. Father, protect them from those who would try to prey upon them with get-rich-quick schemes, unnecessary mediation, predatory loans, or any other schemes to steal from them. Increase their discernment and wisdom when they make decisions, especially where their health and finances are concerned.
