Power Guide Covers.

Prayer Topic #14: A Prayer for Our Governmental Leaders (local, state, and national) Scripture Reading: Psalm 105:1-8, Psalm 1 Reflections of the Heart: When God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, the Lord reassured Moses that he was capable of accomplishing the job. Just as Moses had faith in God, we must have faith that God will carry out His perfect will here on earth through today’s political leaders. Offering up effective, fervent prayers for our political leaders will definitely benefit our city, state, and nation more than murmuring and complaining ever will. Pray for our local, state, and national political leaders so that we can live in peace. Scriptural Prayer: Righteous Father, we thank You for blessing our nation to be a mighty government in the earth. Thank You for allowing us to call upon You in our times of need as a nation. Thank You, Lord, for Your bountiful blessings. We are grateful, and we bless Your name. You are robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. We praise Your name, Father, forever and ever. You have all wisdom and power. You control the course of world events; removing kings and setting up other kings. You give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the scholars. You reveal deep and mysterious things and only You know what lies hidden in darkness, though You are surrounded by light. Triumphant Father, in obedience to Your Word, we make intercession on behalf of those who are in positions of authority in our city, state, and nation; so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. We pray for President Donald Trump, Governor Greg Abbott, and all state, and national leaders. We pray for Mayor John Whitmire, our city council members, and all other local leaders. By faith, we call our local, state, and national leaders saved, sanctified, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. We decree that as our governmental leaders seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, they will receive from You everything they need to lead our nation, state, and city. We declare that the decisions made by our leaders will be inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit. We destroy the assignments of the devil and we silence the voice of every demonic force. We rebuke every form of evil wickedness in high places. Holy Spirit, I commit to pray for the following leaders this month: ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ Holy Spirit, we ask You to fill our city, state, and national governmental leaders with wisdom, understanding, discernment, and knowledge. Grant them favor, increase their faith, and prepare them to pursue Your excellence. Draw them to You and cause them to know and fulfill Your purposes. Please place people in their paths that will provide scriptural, sound and godly counsel; for without Your counsel their plans will go awry. Impart Your wisdom and revelation to them about leadership and help them to lead. Deal with our leaders about keeping their hearts and motives pure. We ask You to make their hearts pliable, willing, and obedient to Your will. Cause each of their lives to glorify Your name. Loving Father, please forgive our local, state, and national governmental leaders for their sins. Forgive those who do not consult with You daily. Forgive them for greed, hypocrisy, injustice, selfish ambitions, pride, arrogance, idolatry, adultery, slander, sexism, elitism, oppression, partiality, lust, manipulations, lying, ungodliness, fornication, homosexuality, perversion, and all other acts of sinfulness. Lord, forgive us for not praying for our leaders consistently. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for making our political 51

decisions based on the opinions, rhetoric, and untruths of political pundits and talking heads who do not align their agendas with Yours. Forgive those politicians who say they are Christians, but conduct their affairs in a manner that opposes Your Word. Father, please have mercy on this nation. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our local, state, and national governmental leaders of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them to you, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.) Holy Spirit, help our local, state, and national governmental leaders not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one. Holy, Holy, Holy, are You, the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is and is to come. You alone are God. You are subject to none, yet all are subject to You. Yours is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. In Jesus’ name, amen. Prayer Topic #15: A Prayer Concerning Evangelism Scripture Reading: Psalm 24, Matthew 9:35-38 Reflections of the Heart: “The Church exists for nothing else but to draw men into Christ... If they are not doing that, all the cathedrals, clergy, missions, sermons, even the Bible itself, are simply a waste of time. God became Man for no other purpose.” ~ C. S. Lewis Scriptural Prayer: Loving Father, thank You for Jesus - the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Thank You for the privilege to call upon His Name. Thank You for the opportunities that You give us to share the Good News with everyone. We are grateful for those who were obedient to share the Truth with us. They helped us to receive eternal life in Christ. We cannot help but worship You, for Your love is so amazing. It reaches into the darkest depths of our human experience and reclaims our souls by grace. We adore You as our Father, Jesus as our Lord, and the Holy Spirit as our Advocate. Without Your grace, none of us would be here today. All of our praise belongs to You, Most Holy One! Gracious Father, we, the Body of Christ, declare that we will let our light shine for all to see. Your glory, Lord, rises to shine on us. Therefore, we expect You to fulfill our request for more workers who are equipped and ready to harvest Your fields. We will proclaim to the world that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God! We believe that the Holy Spirit is beckoning the lost to come and lay their burdens at the feet of Jesus. We confess that they are receptive to the Good News and eager to embrace the Truth of God’s Word. We proclaim that revival is stirring within the soul of the Church all over the world, and we will see great signs and wonders of the manifested glory of God. We decree that we are a prepared people; positioned in Your timing and for Your purposes to build Your Kingdom! List the names of friends, family members, and co-workers who are unsaved and pray for the Holy Spirit to prepare their hearts to receive the gift of salvation today: ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________ Holy Spirit, let there be a renewed commitment among all disciples of Christ to focus on evangelism. Help us to be easily identifiable to unbelievers by the love we show to one another. Give us a heart of compassion and keep us from operating out of a spirit of religious tradition. Remind us that we are Christ’s ambassadors and that the Father is making His appeal through us. Keep our hearts convicted to exhibit the character of Christ in our homes, our neighborhoods, in the workplace, and in the marketplace. Show us how to minister the grace of God to the lost and hurting, wherever we may encounter them. All-Knowing Father, please forgive us for our sins. Forgive us for our apathetic approach to ministry. Forgive us for allowing our hearts to become too hardened to care about the lost. Forgive our pastors and leaders in the Body of Christ for failing to keep the Gospel message pure and holy. Forgive us for missing precious opportunities to share our testimonies with others. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us of all those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment 53

and ask the Holy Spirit to show You names or faces of people that You may need to forgive. As He shows You, say aloud, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in Your soul caused by unforgiveness.) Holy Spirit, help us all to not yield to temptation; but deliver us from the evil one. Righteous Father, we exalt Your Son, Jesus, as the true Bread of God who was sent from heaven and gives life to the world. We are in awe of the majesty of Your tremendous voice. It is glorious in the thunder. We can’t even imagine the greatness of Your power. Your Name be praised and worshipped forevermore! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
