THE FALL FEASTS SUMMARY
Life...In His Presence

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 16:11 NKJV

The Fall Feasts consist of three festivals: The Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, and
The Feast of Tabernacles. These feasts are extremely important because they teach us to honor
God for who He is and for what He has done for us. In addition, they teach us about God’s plan
for humankind and how He powerfully intervenes in human affairs! Revelation 21:3 says
“Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His
people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.” During the Fall Feast season, we are
expecting God to tabernacle with us. This year, our Fall Feasts theme is Life...In His
Presence.

THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS

The Feast of Trumpets, also known as Rosh Hashanah, celebrates the new year in Christ. It is
believed that God created the world during this time. On this day, a shofar or trumpet is blown
to mark the beginning of ten days called the “High Holy Days” or “Days of Awe.” The blowing of
the trumpet serves as a “wake-up” call to honor God as King, to remember His goodness and
His faithfulness to His people, and to reveal and awaken the conscience and soul of His people.
The High Holy Days consist of 10 days of repentance, reflection, and restoration. This period
ends on the Day of Atonement.

THE DAY OF ATONEMENT

The Day of Atonement is considered the holiest day of the year. Known as the Day of Redemption, this
is the day that believers stand before Almighty God and confess their mistakes and sins. Participating
in this day helps the believer to recognize that sin has been forgiven through the blood of Jesus Christ.
As believers confess their sins and recognize their dependence on God, Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross
frees them of all unrighteousness. In Christ, we have a future and a hope!

THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES

The Feast of Tabernacles is the climax of the Fall Feasts and the most celebrative. It is God’s
appointed time for believers to come into His presence and celebrate His glory, provision, protection,
and deliverance through Jesus Christ. Leviticus 23:40 says to “Rejoice before the Lord your God for
seven days.” Deuteronomy 16:14-15 says to “Be joyful at your Feast for the Lord your God will bless
you and your joy will be complete.” We will celebrate with singing, dancing, and great food. Mark your
calendar to be a part of this exciting time.

The Feast of Tabernacles (aka Sukkot—soo-COAT) begins at sundown on Sunday, October 9th
and ends at sundown on Monday, October 17th. During this time, you are invited to attend the fun-
filled Feast of Tabernacles Opening Worship Celebration the evening of Sunday, October 9th at 7:00

God’s Days of Rest
As our Church Family prepares to celebrate the Fall Feasts, consider scheduling the following
days off from work. In Leviticus 23, God instructs the Israelites to “do no customary work” on
specific days associated with the feasts. “No customary work” basically means to take the day
off from work. The Lord understands if you have to work, but if you can, take the day off and
enjoy the Lord and your family.

“No Customary Work” Days
Remember all Holy days begin at sundown the evening before the calendar day listed.
(Example: The Day of Atonement begins at sundown on Tuesday, October 4th).

Wednesday, October 5th Day of Atonement

Monday, October 10th Feast of Tabernacles (Day 1)

Monday, October 17th Feast of Tabernacles (Day 8)

FASTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADULTS

What is a Fast?

The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” The Greek word for fasting means
“not to eat.” Simply put, fasting means to abstain from food. Fasting involves turning away
from foods that the body craves in order for our spirit to concentrate on God in worship,
service, and praise.

Fasting has been a part of Christianity through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural
sacrifice. Fasting does not change or impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting,
Christians are empowered to discipline their daily relationship with the Lord.

The fast will consist of abstaining from food. In other words, you are fasting if you are not
eating food. The primary method of fasting will be one (1) meal each day.

Why Should We Fast?

John Wesley, the original organizer of the Methodist Movement, fasted. In fact, he fasted
twice a week. More importantly, Jesus Christ fasted! We fast as a Church Family because
God’s blessings reside in our unity. This special time encourages us to be “like-minded,
having the same love and being of one accord and of one mind” (Philippians 2:1-3).

Who Should Fast?

Prayerfully, each member will participate in the Church Family Spiritual Fast. Please
consult your physician about your fasting if: (1) you are pregnant; (2) you are on
prescribed medication; (3) you are under a doctor’s care; (4) you have experienced illness
on a previous fast; (5) or, you do not normally eat anyway.

YOUR PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER THIS FAST! FOLLOW
YOUR PHYSICIAN’S ORDERS!!!

I. Why Fast?

The benefits include:

1. Having a closer relationship with God, our Father, who created us;
2. Focusing you on Jesus, the Supply, and Supplier of your benefits and blessings;
3. Becoming more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit;
4. Presenting the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord;
5. Intensifying your prayer life;
6. Aiding in removing unbelief;
7. Breaking yokes of bondage;
8. Sharpening your intellect, skill, discernment, and understanding;
9. Aiding in clarity of spiritual hearing when guidance or a decision is needed from

the Holy Spirit;
10. Hastening emotional, spiritual, financial, and physical healing for both

individuals and the community;
11. Fostering personal discipline that will help to reduce impulsive fleshly urges that

do not align with Scripture; and,
12. Demonstrating (to yourself) an act of scriptural obedience.

9

How to Fast

The primary method of fasting for the Church Family Spiritual Fast will be one (1)
meal each day eaten after 6:00 p.m. Meals should be completed within 75 minutes
from the moment you put food into your mouth.

Fasting Options include:

13. “Veterans” - Veterans are those members who have participated in the Church
Family Spiritual Fast two or more times.

14. “First Round Draft Choices” - (First Rounders are those persons who have
never fasted or have only participated in a Church Spiritual Fast one time.)
First Rounders will eat two (2) meals per day, one at breakfast before 8:00 a.m.
and one after 6:00 p.m. Be consistent; eat the breakfast meal at a routine hour.
Complete your meals within 75 minutes from the moment you put food into your
mouth. Please pray the daily prayer topic during the time of the skipped meal
(lunch meal) and during your regular prayer time for the day.

15. “Special Teams” consist of persons who are under a doctor’s care, pregnant, or
unable to miss a meal for health reasons. Special Teams should eat regularly
scheduled meals. Participation in the Church Family Spiritual Fast will consist of
abstaining from foods such as sweets, carbonated beverages, breads, meats, or
any food that you feel “you must have at least a little of every day.”

It is important for the Church Family to be of one mind and heart. Please fast
in accordance with the above-listed instructions. Fasts such as a “cleansing
fast,” “grapefruit fast,” and others are not appropriate during this special
time.

II. Requirements for Fasting
1. No nibbling! If you feel hungry (that’s expected and normal), drink water and pray.

No sweets (including sweeteners), chips, candy, chewing gum, soft drinks, or any
other junk food should be eaten at any time during the fast by Veterans, First
Rounders, or Special Teams.

2. If you experience headaches, fatigue or weakness, faint feelings, nausea, fever,
and/or extreme hunger, eat a piece of fruit, slice of bread, crackers, or vegetables
(preferably raw). Consult your physician if these feelings persist.

3. Water only! Please restrict your liquid intake to water. No sodas, juices, fruit juices,
lemon water, or flavored water. If you are fasting no food, please drink at least 64oz
– 80oz of water each day. Raw vegetable juices are permitted if you are fasting no
food.

4. If you experience “blackouts” while exerting energy, please eat a light, nutritionally-
balanced meal.

5. If you are eating once a day, it is recommended that you do not exercise during the fast.
6. As I Corinthians 7:5 tells us, no love-making for married folk! (Single Christians are

already abstaining.) Both spouses should agree to the fast as a sacrifice of
consecration to the Lord. If one of the spouses is not in agreement with I Corinthians
7:5, then do not abstain. There must be agreement between marital partners.
7. Individual prayer times for each day are 6:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m. If your schedule
does not allow for these hours, please adjust your schedule to include a morning
prayer time and an evening prayer time.
8. If you “fall off” the fast, get back on. Do not allow the devil to condemn you. Ask your

10

covenant partner (see Covenant Partnering on page 45) for help.

What Are We Praying About During the Fast?

This Power Guide contains the prayers that we will pray during the fast and Fall Feasts.
Please pray each prayer on the appropriate day as designated by the Prayer Topic
Calendar.

How Can We Be a Blessing While Fasting?

In Isaiah 58:6-2, the Lord explains that an acceptable fast to Him includes feeding and
clothing those in need. In addition to praying, you can bless others by using some of the
money you would spend on eating out or buying groceries to provide food and clothing
for others. See details on the Promise of Giving on page 46.

You Can Fast in Jesus’ Name!
While fasting, keep your countenance positive. Matthew 6:16-18 tells us not to
“advertise our fasting.” Keep your fasting a secret. Be sensible and do your best. God
does not smile upon “super fasters.” Expect God to be AWESOME and to do
AWESOME things through you and the Church Family.

God bless you!

Fasting Instructions for Children and Youth

God gives us pastors according to His heart who will feed us with knowledge and understanding
(Jeremiah 3:15). We must obey our pastors for they watch over our souls (Hebrews 13:17).
Parents should teach and guide by their example the importance of following the leadership of
our pastors. When Pastor Caldwell proclaims the fast, children and youth are capable of obeying
and participating.
Parents, please prayerfully consider including your children and youth in the Church Family
Spiritual Fast. It will be a blessed experience for them and it will begin to lay a foundation for
their future. Your support and encouragement are recommended to maximize your child’s
success.

What is a Fast?

The Hebrew word for fasting means “to cover the mouth.” Fasting has been a part of
Christianity through the ages. It is a form of spiritual and scriptural sacrifice. Fasting does
not change or impress God. Fasting changes us. Through fasting, Christians are
empowered to discipline their daily relationship with the Lord.

Why Should Children and Youth Fast?

• To have a closer relationship with God our Father and Jesus Christ;
• To become more sensitive and responsive to the Holy Spirit;
• To present the opportunity for you to spend more time waiting on the Lord; and
• To build your prayer life.

As children and youth fast, they, too, will receive the benefits and blessings of obedience
and fasting.

How to Fast

• Eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Eat healthy vegetables, fruits, meats, breads, milk, and cereal.
• Eat a healthy snack between meals such as fruit, vegetables, etc.
• Drink WATER, 100% JUICE, and MILK as the only beverages.

NO SWEETS, PIZZA, FRENCH FRIES, CHIPS, CANDY, CHEWING GUM, SOFT
DRINKS, OR ANY OTHER JUNK FOODS!

What Are We Praying About During the Fast?
Please help your child (ren) pray each prayer on the appropriate day as designated
by the Prayer Topic Calendar.

12

COVENANT PARTNERING

Ecclesiastes 4:12 states, “Though one may be empowered by another, two can withstand
him. And a threefold cord is not easily broken.”

It is highly recommended that you choose a Covenant Partner. This person will pray with you,
encourage you, and remind you of God’s faithfulness. Choose someone who will walk with you
throughout the duration of the fast.

Remember, your most important Covenant Partners are God our Father, Jesus Christ and the
Holy Spirit. As One, trust them to help and strengthen you and your Covenant Partner(s) during
the Church Family Fast.

Guidelines for Covenant Partnering

· Guidelines for choosing Covenant Partners are as follows:

• Married couples’ partner with married couples;
• Single women partner with single women; and
• Single men partner with single men.

· Be sure to exchange telephone numbers or e-mail addresses.

· During the fast, please communicate, pray, encourage and hold each
other accountable.

THE PROMISE OF GIVING

The Promise of Giving is designed to encourage giving while fasting. In Isaiah 58:6-12, the Lord
explains that an acceptable fast to Him includes feeding and clothing those who are in need,
restoring broken relationships with family, and sharing with strangers. During this fast, you are
encouraged to use some of the money that you would spend on groceries and eating out for
providing food and clothing to others.

HOW TO USE THE POWER GUIDE

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears
us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we
have asked of Him.
I John 5:14-15

The Power Guide is designed as a tool for study, reflection and prayer. Each prayer is written based
on the model of the Lord’s Prayer (see Matthew 6:9-13).

In order to maximize the use of your guide, please follow the listed instructions.

1. Set aside a few minutes each day to pray individually, with your family or prayer partner(s).
Gradually build your prayer time with the Lord to at least thirty (30) to sixty (60) minutes each
day. You can split up your prayer time, if necessary, and pray a few minutes in the morning
and evening. You choose the time of day that is good for you. Find a comfortable place to
pray and turn off any distractions. If you have small children who need most of your attention,
pray the daily prayer with them. Let God’s Word saturate their hearing.

2. Refer to the Prayer Topic Calendar on page for the specific prayer for the day. Only pray for
the prayer topic that is assigned to that day so that we are unified in our daily praying. Please
do not get ahead of the prayer for the day. Before praying the “Scriptural Prayer,” first read
the Scriptures listed for “Scripture Reading.”

3. Pray the assigned prayer out loud. There is power in your verbal expression. Parents, please
encourage your children to pray their prayer topics in the Children’s Power Guide out loud.
Youth (ages 13-17) may use the Adult Power Guide.

4. These prayers are intended to be a springboard to help you with your prayerful conversations.
Trust the Holy Spirit to help you to expand upon the prayer that you are praying for the day.
If you speak in tongues, please pray in tongues over each prayer topic. Relax, listen and
enjoy the Lord.

5. Record any reflections, revelations, or inspiration given by the Holy Spirit in the Prayer
Expectation section at the end of the Power Guide.

6. Believe that the Lord is hearing your prayer and know in your heart that your praying will
produce God’s results for the prayer topic you are praying for.

7. After praying, make your daily power confession by using the Daily Power Confessions
located on page in the back of your Power Guide. When you speak God’s Word over your
life, you activate the power of His Word to work in your life and produce God’s results for
your life. Expect God’s Word to transform your life. I also recommend that you speak the
Power Confessions over your family.

8. All members are asked to attend all the Fall Feast Celebrations with your family and friends.

9. Enjoy your time spent with the Lord and thank you for helping to implement God’s plans for
our Church Family.

God Bless You!
WV Leadership Team

Prayer Topic #1:
A Prayer for Justice and Righteousness in the United States

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 135:1-7, Isaiah 51:4-5,7-8

Reflections of the Heart:
Our Lord is a God of justice! Blessed are all those who wait for Him. Isaiah 30:18

Scriptural Prayer:

Eternal Father, we thank You for being the just Judge. Thank You for surrounding the American citizens
with Your peace which surpasses all understanding. Thank You for moving on the hearts of Your people
to establish peace, justice and righteousness in the earth. Lord, we will praise You with all of our hearts.
Your love for us is so very great, we will give glory to Your name forever!

Immortal Father, we command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream
within our nation’s judicial, economic, educational, social, medical, governmental, and spiritual systems.
As the Body of Christ, we renounce the gods of racism, sexism, and ageism. We confess that justice
and righteousness will prevail in our nation, homes, workplaces, churches, schools and communities.
Lord, we believe that You will raise us above the acts of injustice and unrighteousness. You are the
Lord who loves all of humankind; You are no respecter of persons. Lord, You created us in Your image
and it is Your desire that we, Your creation, love each other as we love ourselves. And because Your
Spirit dwells within us, the Body of Christ, we confess that we will walk in righteousness and integrity.
We will not discriminate against anyone because of their race, their sex, or their age. We will not pay
back evil with more evil, but we will always do things in such a way that everyone can see that we are
honorable.

Holy Spirit, as I listen to the media, I will continue to pray for justice regarding:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we pray for all victims of injustice within the judicial system of America. Bring truth and
revelation to their cases and release those who have been wrongfully imprisoned. Please help our
nation to heal from the wounds that recent instances of injustice have inflicted on the American people.
Remind the members of the Body of Christ to not sin by letting anger control them. Grant each of us
the desire and commitment to daily walk in Your justice and righteousness without prejudice or partiality.
Deal with the hearts of those Christians who practice this ungodliness. Remind them to walk in Your
Spirit and not in their flesh. Guide parents on how to talk with their children about injustice in a way
that will not instill fear, anger, hatred or unforgiveness. Holy Spirit, I ask that You search my heart for
areas of hidden discrimination or bias and remove it immediately from me.

Abba Father, forgive us for any acts of racism, sexism, and ageism. Forgive our nation for its injustice,
prejudice, and oppression. Forgive our nation for loving power and things more than people. Please
forgive those persons who are presently practicing racism, sexism, and ageism. As the Body of Christ,
we renounce the gods of racism, sexism, and ageism. Forgive me, Father, for not acknowledging that
when I make blanket statements about race, sex, or age that I am discriminating. Father, forgive me
for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive
and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to
forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may

17

need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to
heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Triumphant King, You are greater than any other god. You do whatever You please throughout all
heaven and earth, and on the seas and in their depths. You cause clouds to rise over the earth. You
send lightning with the rain and release the winds from Your storehouses. Your name, Lord, endures

forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #2:
A Prayer of Love for God and Our Neighbor

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 113, Matthew 22:35-40, John 15:9-12

Reflections of the Heart
The fruit of the Spirit is Love. Only as we live in God’s love, can we fulfill His will in our lives. The believer
must become Love-inspired, Love-mastered and Love-driven.

Scriptural Prayer:

Almighty Father, we thank You, Father, that You have not given us Christians the spirit of fear or timidity,
but love and power and self-discipline. Thank You that You have given us the Holy Spirit to fill our
hearts with Your love, so that we may share love with others. We praise You. You are Spirit and You
are Love. You are Creator. We thank You that, as we have received a Kingdom which is unshakable,
we will be thankful and please You by worshipping You with holy fear and awe. Mighty King, You are a
devouring fire. We are blessed to know that Your love is more important than ritual.

Wonderful Father, Your living Word discerns the thoughts and intents of the hearts of men and women.
Spoken out of the heart of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was the proclamation of Your eternal and
greatest commandment. As Your dear children, we commit to love You with all our hearts, and with all
our souls, and with all our minds. This is the greatest and most important commandment of all. In the
same Spirit, we also commit to love our neighbors as ourselves. We confess that the Holy Spirit fills
and controls us, as we commit to do God’s will. We commit to living a righteous life. We will treat people
with kindness. We will be patient and we will not return evil with evil. We will let our light shine so that
people will see our good works and glorify our Father. We put our all on Your altar, O God, for You
have given us the Holy Spirit who has filled our hearts with love.

How will you show your love for God and for your neighbor by your actions?
________________________________________________________________________________

________________________________________________________________________________

Heavenly Father, equip the saints of the Lord to share His love through patience and kindness. Remind
all believers that love is not jealous, boastful, proud or rude; it is not irritable and keeps no record of
wrongs. Inspire us as Christians to demonstrate God’s love, as given to the world through Jesus Christ,
by never losing faith. Quicken in us the remembrance that prophecy and speaking in unknown tongues
will become useless without love, but love will last forever.

Holy Father, we ask Your forgiveness for our sins, in the Name of Jesus. Forgive us for being irreverent
and apathetic towards You. Forgive us for murmuring and complaining and not showing our love and
appreciation for all that You do for us. Forgive us for being impatient with our neighbor. Father, we
walk by faith and not by sight. As we stand in faith as taught by the Lord Jesus Christ, we seek
forgiveness from any and all persons against whom we have intentionally or unknowingly sinned. Lord,
forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need
to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I
need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that
you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust
the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

19

Eternal Lord, You are God alone. You created the heavens and the earth; You put everything in its
place. You made the world to be lived in, not a place of empty chaos. You are the Lord and there is no
other. You only speak what is true and declare only what is right. In Jesus' name, amen.

Prayer Topic #3:
A Prayer of Forgiveness for Others

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 108:1-5, Matthew 18:21-35

Reflections of the Heart:
It is impossible to live and not be hurt or offended. Jesus said “If another believer sins, rebuke that
person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and
each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.” Luke 17:3-4

Scriptural Prayer:

Beloved Father, thank You for loving us, forgiving us and saving us. Thank You for being patient with
us. Thank You for increasing Your presence, power, anointing, and abundance in our lives. We give
thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness. Lord, we will let the whole world know what You have
done in our lives. We will sing to You the praises due Your Name and tell everyone about Your
wonderful deeds. Father, You are our God; we earnestly search for You. Our souls thirst for You; our
bodies long for You in this parched and weary land where there is no water. We have seen You in Your
sanctuary and gazed upon Your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how we
praise You!

Righteous Father, Your Word tells us that if we forgive those who have sinned against us, then You,
our Heavenly Father, will forgive us. Today, we choose to forgive. We declare that we will make
allowance for each other's faults, and forgive anyone who has offended us. Lord, we remember that
You have forgiven, therefore we must forgive others. As a Church Family, we choose to owe nothing
to anyone, except for our obligation to love them. We confess that as we love our neighbors, we fulfill
the requirement of God’s law.

Write the person(s) name(s) and beside it write “you are forgiven”! If you need to ask someone
for forgiveness, then ask and move forward in your life.
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, we ask You to help all of us individually and as a Church Family to forgive the people who
have hurt us. Heal our emotions that have been wounded and teach us how to love unconditionally.
Help us to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Holy Spirit, remind us all of the grace that the Lord has
extended toward us, despite our sins against Him. Help us to liberally extend that same grace to others
who have sinned against us. Discipline us so that we will not so easily take offense. Lord, help us to
extend mercy to others and forget the past so that we can move forward toward our futures.

Forgiving Father, please forgive us for not being forgiving. Forgive us for holding grudges, thinking evil
thoughts, and seeking revenge. Forgive us for hatred and malice. Forgive us for not letting Your love
flow through us to others. Forgive us for gossiping, lying and for rehearsing offenses in our minds.
Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all to forgive
each other and other people, and please help us to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my
remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or
faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of
person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.

21

Triumphant Lord, You are the eternal King, Your rule is everlasting. All the people of the earth are
nothing compared to You. All of Your acts are just and true. You alone have held the oceans in Your
hand. You measured the heavens with Your fingers and know the weight of the earth. The Lord God
Almighty is Your name. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #4:
A Prayer for the Day of Atonement

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 135, Hebrews 10:1-23

Reflections of the Heart:
Sin cuts us off from God. It cuts us off from His presence and creates in us fear, guilt, pain, suffering,
and even death. To restore fellowship with God, we must confess and repent of our sin so that it is
removed. This is what atonement, through the blood of Jesus, does. Because Jesus paid the price and
bore our sins, we can experience atonement with God. No more shame, guilt or defilement. So, starting
tonight at sundown, we will take spiritual inventory, confess and repent, as we fast, humble ourselves,
and express sorrow, and expect all disgrace, contamination, and uncleanness to be gone. We will be
restored to full fellowship with our heavenly Father. Hallel YAH!

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father in heaven, we honor Your Name. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, as the
sacrificial lamb and High Priest who atones for our sins. It is because of Him, we can say, “Abba Father,”
and for this we are grateful. Thank You for this special time of refreshing, repentance, and restoration.
Thank You for taking the legalism, ritualism, and religiosity out of this day by making it about restoring,
reestablishing, and strengthening our relationship with You and others. We are so appreciative that
You desire, that we, Your children, experience Your atonement every year. No pagan god is like You,
O Lord; none can do what You do! All the nations You made will come and bow before You, Lord; they
will praise Your holy Name. You are great, and perform wonderful deeds. You alone are God. Where
is another God like You, who pardons the guilt of the remnant and overlooks the sins of Your special
people? You will not stay angry with Your people forever, because You delight in showing unfailing
love. Once again You will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under Your feet and throw
them into the depths of the ocean! For this we are thankful.

Glorious Father, as a Church Family, we acknowledge that we all have sinned and fallen short of Your
glorious standard. But, You, in Your gracious kindness have declared us not guilty because of the
sacrifice of our Lord, Christ Jesus. Lord, we are expecting You to hear us, forgive our sins, and heal
our land because we, the members of Windsor Village, are Your people who are called by Your name,
who humble ourselves and pray and seek Your face and turn from our wicked ways. We declare that
we will strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress.
We will continue to run with endurance the race that You have set before us. We come with the
expectation that all guilt, shame, regret, disgrace, defilement, and dishonor will be eradicated from our
lives because we know that when we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and
cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Hallel YAH!

Loving Father, search our hearts and know our thoughts. Point out anything in us that offends You and
lead us along the path of everlasting life. Holy Spirit, help us to admit our sin and guilt and to come into
agreement with the Father about our sin. Bring to our remembrance any past sins which we may have
buried deep down because the thought of them may be too painful. Help us to deal with and process
any secret sins which we do not want others to know about. Holy Spirit, lead us to and help us receive
God’s forgiveness and restoration. Help us to accept and fully understand God’s love for us and not
get stuck in regret and condemnation. Assist us in repentance by helping us to turn away, walk away,
stay away, and to never look back.

Begin to list, confess, and repent of all your sins and mistakes. Let the Holy Spirit help you
empty yourself. He will guard your heart and emotions as you pour yourself out before the Lord.

23

If you feel like crying, then cry. If you feel like screaming, then scream. Let the Lord work on
you inwardly. Do not be afraid. God is with you and He will lead you through this time of
repentance.

Prayer Topic #5:
A Declaration of Surrender to the Lord

Scripture Reading:
Isaiah 44:23-28, Isaiah 58:6-12

Reflections of the Heart:
Today at 6:00 p.m., Day of Atonement ends, and we will also close out our Church Family Fast. As you
go through the day, think of what part of your life needs to be totally surrendered to the Lord. Thank
God for His presence, provision, and power that He has demonstrated during our time of consecration.
Review those things He revealed to you, and partner with the Holy Spirit to create an action plan to
implement them. If you have yet to ask for forgiveness for your sins, spend some time in repentance.

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, we come before Your presence with thanksgiving. We thank You for blessing us
throughout our Annual Church Family Fast and during these high holy days. We have been blessed by
Your love, presence, anointing, and forgiveness. Thank You for helping us to overcome our hunger
pangs and resist foods that we love to eat. Thank You for speaking to us through Your Word and
maturing us in Your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus
to atone for our sins, and leading us into repentance to experience full freedom in You. Father, You are
an awesome Father. We, Your children, are so glad to be a part of Your household of faith. We honor
You, the only true God; the living God and the everlasting King. The whole earth trembles at Your anger
and nations cannot stand up to Your wrath. You made the earth by Your power and You preserve it by
Your wisdom. With Your own understanding, You stretched out the heavens. We love You! Hallel YAH!

Gracious Father, we surrender our entire lives to You. We surrender our bodies as living sacrifices,
because this is holy and pleasing to You. We have tried to fast according to Your Word in Isaiah 58.
We have shared food, clothing, and basic necessities with the poor. We have helped the homeless and
our relatives. We have tried to live in Your righteousness and justice. We pray that our efforts have
brought You glory. We are expecting Your salvation to come like the dawn. We are expecting our
wounds (physical, emotional, and spiritual) to heal quickly. We look forward to Your Godliness leading
us forward and Your glory protecting us from behind. We are fully confident that when we call on You,
You will answer quickly, “Yes, I am here.” And as surrendered vessels, when You look for someone to
send to represent You, like Isaiah our response will be, “Here am I. Send me.” We look forward to You
giving us water when we are dry and restoring our strength when we are weak. As a result of our
surrendered hearts, we expect to be like a well-watered garden and ever-flowing spring. As a Church
Family, we will continue to rebuild deserted ruins in our communities. We will be Your rebuilders of
walls and restorers of homes. We are expecting Your Kingdom to advance through us. Thank You for
partnering with us.

List three things the Holy Spirit has revealed to you during these high holy days:

Holy Spirit, help us not to go back to old unhealthy eating habits or behaviors. Help us to continue our
discipline of being with You daily through prayer and the study of Your Word. This has been a refreshing
time of restoration and we commit to keeping these new and improved habits.

Merciful Father, forgive those who could have fasted and participated in the Day of Atonement, but
refused to participate. Forgive all of us for anything we have thought, said, or done that does not align

25

with Your righteousness. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).

Begin to list, confess, and repent of all your sins and mistakes. Let the Holy Spirit help you
empty yourself. He will guard your heart and emotions as you pour yourself out before the
Lord. If you feel like crying, then cry. If you feel like screaming, then scream. Let the Lord work
on you inwardly. Do not be afraid. God is with you and He will lead you through this time of
repentance.

Prayer Topic #6:
A Prayer for People Who Need a Miracle

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 63:1-5, Acts 5:12-16

Reflections of the Heart:
Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and forever! In Mark 16:17-18, Jesus said, “These signs will
accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak new
languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t
hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them.” Let us do what Jesus did!

Scriptural Prayer:

Wonderful Father, we thank You for Your presence in our lives. Thank You for the miracles, signs, and
wonders that You have manifested in the lives of Your children in the Body of Christ. Lord, we thank
You for salvation, the greatest miracle of all. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus to break the power
of the devil and to bring us hope, health, and healing. You are great and You do wondrous things. You
alone are God. How great are Your signs and how mighty are Your wonders. Lord, You are high above
all the nations. Your glory is above the heavens. Who is like You, our God, who dwells on high? We
give thanks to You for Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near.

Exalted Father, according to Your own will, You ministered with signs and wonders, various miracles,
and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we expect miracles to manifest in the earth for those who are in
need of them. Lord, just as You brought Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and wonders, with a
strong hand and outstretched arm, so we believe that You will manifest Your glory in our lives today.
All of Your promises are “Yes” and “Amen” unto us so we expect miracles, signs, and wonders to follow
us as believers. As a Church Family, we know that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever,
therefore, we expect You to display Your glory in the lives of those among us who are in need of
miracles. We expect diseases to be dissolved, broken relationships to be mended, and those who are
held captive in their minds and souls to be set free. Father, we trust that Your power and authority will
be witnessed by all nations.

I will pray for the following people who are in need of a miracle:

Majestic Father, hear the prayers of those who are in need of a miracle. Help them to trust in You and
not lean to their own understanding. Please open the eyes of their understanding so that they will know
the hope of Your calling for the miraculous. Holy Spirit, remind them that whatsoever they ask in the
name of Jesus, He does it so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Lord, help them to believe in
the impossible and look to You for healing, deliverance, and prosperity. Cause Your miracles to be
experienced through our families, church, and community so that Your name will be glorified throughout
the land.

Triumphant Father, forgive those persons who have doubted Your Word and Your works. Forgive them
for having a form of godliness but denying Your power to perform the miraculous. Forgive us for not
comprehending with all the saints the breadth, length, depth and height, and the love of Christ which
passes all understanding and knowledge. Forgive us for the sin within the Body of Christ that prevents
Your miracles from being an everyday occurrence. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that You have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind those who need a miracle of those they need to forgive and help them

27

to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive and help
me to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that
You may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the
Lord to heal any wounds in Your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help those who need a miracle not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.
Immortal King, You are the Lord who made all things. You alone stretched out the heavens. Your
Name is the Lord. You will not give Your glory to anyone else, nor will You share Your praise with
carved idols. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #7:
A Prayer for Mental Healing

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 8, Psalm 40:1-8

Reflections of the Heart:
Today, we receive comfort in God’s Word, “Those who wait on the Lord will find new strength. They
will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah
40:31 (NLT)

Scriptural Prayer:

Glorious Father, we thank You for giving us Your peace and joy. Thank You for providing a life of hope,
abundance, and destiny. Thank You for being our strength in times of weakness. You are great and
most worthy of praise. You are to be feared above all gods. The earth is Yours and everything in it; the
world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the
ocean’s depths. You are the King of glory; the Lord strong and mighty. You are the Lord, invincible in
battle. O Lord, You have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list.
You have no equal. We are grateful that when we, Your people, call to You for help, You hear and
rescue us out of our troubles.

Omniscient Father, You said that You would give rest to all who are weary and heavy burdened. Your
yoke is easy and Your burdens are light. We are supposed to trust in You with all of our hearts and not
depend on our own understanding. We are to seek Your will in all that we do and You will show us
which path to take. You are the God who will bring rest to our souls. We trust in Your Word and believe
that Your Word will be operative in the hearts and souls of those with mental illnesses. We confess
that when they walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive them and stretch forth Your hand and save
them. Lord, You have left Your gift of peace of mind with them so their hearts will not be afraid. Although
they may be pressed on every side by troubles, they will not be crushed and broken. They may feel
perplexed, but they will not give up and quit. They may be hunted down, but You will never abandon
them. They may be knocked down, but they will get up and keep going. Father, we confess that they
will lie down without fear and enjoy pleasant dreams. They will not be afraid of the threat of disaster or
destruction; for You are their security.

Find God’s promises concerning peace and begin to declare them over those people who you
know are stressed and overburdened by life:

Loving Father, we ask You to replace their sadness with joy, defeat with victory, and fatigue with praise.
Help those who feel depressed or sad to not focus on their circumstances, but rather focus on Your
blessings in their lives. Remind them to praise You at all times. Holy Spirit, bring all things to their
memory that concern the Father’s plans for their lives. Give them power as they meditate on the Word.
Help them to keep God’s commandments and embrace them in their hearts. Father, help them to not
be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of their minds through the Word. Holy
Spirit, we ask that You strengthen and renew their innermost being. Prevent the fiery darts of the
enemy from consuming them. Help them to hear Your voice and obey Your will. Help them to find and
surround themselves with believers who are strong in the Word and in faith who will keep them
accountable as they walk through this season.

29

Merciful Father, forgive those in need of mental healing for their sins. Forgive them for worry and fear.
Forgive them for being anxious. Forgive them for not being diligent in fasting and praying. Forgive
them for not trusting You at all times. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).
Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy
Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I
forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
You are the Lord God Almighty! Let the whole world glorify You, Lord; let it sing Your praises! You will
march forth like a mighty hero. You will come out like a warrior, full of fury. You will shout Your battle
cry and crush all of Your enemies. You alone are worthy to receive glory and honor and power. In
Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #8:
A Prayer of Comfort for Those Who are Mourning

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 46:1-7, John 11:1-26

Reflections of the Heart:
If you want to know how God feels about the death of our loved ones, remember Jesus groaned in His
Spirit and was troubled enough to weep at the mournful sight of Martha and those who surrounded Him
before He raised Lazarus from the dead. Don’t miss the reason for the Lord’s tears. He was not weeping
for the dead. No, He wept for us, the living.

Scriptural Prayer:

Redeeming Father, we thank You for the life of our loved one(s) who has gone on to be with You.
Thank You for their time on earth and the impact they had on our lives. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for
taking on human form so that You can understand what we experience. Thank You for leaving us with
a gift – Your peace of mind and heart. We are thankful to You and we bless Your name. Father, we
give thanks to You and proclaim Your greatness. The whole world shall know what You have done. We
will sing praises to You. We will tell every one of Your wonderful deeds. You are our merciful Father
and the source of all comfort. We will sing to You as long as we live. We will praise You to our last
breath!

Merciful Father, so why are we discouraged? Why are our hearts so sad? We will put our hope in You,
God! We will praise You again – our Savior and our God! Father, we trust Your Word. We declare that
our family and friends who have experienced the death of a loved one will not be afraid, for You are
with them; they will not be discouraged, for You are their God. Your Word says that You will strengthen
them and help them. You will hold them up with Your victorious right hand. Your Name, Lord, is a strong
fortress; the Godly run to You and are safe. We declare that it is by Your great mercy that we have
been born again, because You raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now, we live with great expectation,
and we have a priceless inheritance – an inheritance that is kept in heaven for us, pure and undefiled,
beyond the reach of change and decay. So, we decree that bereavement will last only for a short time
and joy will replace sorrow.

Holy Spirit, help me to become more sensitive to the needs of those around me who are in
mourning and show me how I can be an encouragement to them:

Holy Spirit, when we see our brother or sister mourning the death of a loved one, a relationship, job or
business, help us to be compassionate and also to edify him or her with God’s Word of hope and peace.
Bring scriptures to our remembrance that will help to bring solace to help our brother or sister. As we
do this, we trust that You will help them so they will not grieve like people who have no hope. Remind
us to care for the physical needs of families in mourning, with food, transportation, child care or any
other material things that may be needed. Help us to be patient and to not be insensitive to those in
pain. Holy Spirit, when we are grieving as well, comfort us in all our troubles so that we can comfort
others.

Gracious Father, when we are grieving, forgive us for concentrating on what we see with our eyes
rather than what we believe in our hearts. When others are grieving, forgive us for being impatient as
time goes on after a death. Forgive us when we utter unkind words, making light of someone else’s

31

pain at the death of a loved one. Holy Spirit, chasten us if we are not taking care of the physical or
emotional needs of a person who has suffered loss. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have
committed). Holy Spirit, remind those who are overcoming the death of a loved one of those they
need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance
those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people
that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now,
trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Almighty God, the heavens proclaim Your glory! The skies display Your craftsmanship. Day after day
they continue to speak; night after night, they make You known. They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard. Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the
world. You are awesome in Your sanctuary, Lord God. In Jesus’ name, amen!

Prayer Topic #9:
A Feast of Tabernacles Prayer

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 29, Deuteronomy 16:13-17

Reflections of the Heart:
Worship is not about where you are, but more about who you are. It does not happen by osmosis; you
must become a part of it. It is the breaking of our individual alabaster box, the pouring out of ourselves,
and the presentation of ourselves as living sacrifices before our loving Father who longs to meet us
and love us. Let us give glory to God with child-like abandonment, then we can have a true worship
experience where our souls and spirits are united with God. Through this extraordinary communion we
are saved, healed, delivered, and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit fills our lives.

Scriptural Prayer:

Abba Father, we thank You for calling us to worship You and bring You gifts during the Feast of
Tabernacles. Thank You, Jesus, for teaching us God’s Word as You taught the Israelites at the Temple
in Jerusalem during the Festival of Tabernacles. Holy Spirit, we thank You for bringing God’s Word to
our remembrance which tells us to celebrate this special Feast each year from generation to generation.
O God, You are our God; we earnestly search for You. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how
we praise You! We will praise You as long as we live, lifting up our hands to You in prayer. You satisfy
us more than the richest feast. We will praise You with songs of joy.

Glorious Father, the Feast of Tabernacles belongs to You, and we will all appear before You, O Lord
our God, at the place You choose. We commit to appearing before You with special gifts. Lord, we will
come before You joyfully declaring that this festival will be a happy time of celebrating with our sons
and daughters, pastors, neighbors, orphans and widows from our towns. For seven days, we will
celebrate this festival to honor You, Lord, at the place You choose, for You have blessed us with
bountiful harvests and have given us success in all our work. We declare that this festival will be a time
of great joy for all. While we remember that You brought the children of Israel out of Egypt and had
them live in temporary shelters, we will remember that Jesus Christ has become our permanent shelter.
We anticipate Your glory “tabernacling” among us during this exciting feast. We are expecting your
presence, anointing, healing, power, joy, peace, and love.

What has been your favorite part of the Feast of Tabernacles this year?
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Heavenly Father, we pray for Your provision of both the time and the resources to celebrate this festival
in a way that will be pleasing to You. Grant us favor with our employers during the festival. Holy Spirit,
bring to our minds the special gifts we should bring to the Lord on each of the seven days of the festival.
Help us to be grateful for God’s bountiful provision of all that we need so we may be generous in our
giving. As we build our shelters (tents), help us to share with our families, so that everyone understands
that each shelter, regardless of its size or placement, is built in remembrance of God’s blessings in our
lives. When You brought Your people out of Egypt, they refused to obey and did not remember the
miracles You had done for them. Instead, they became stubborn and appointed a leader to take them
back to their slavery in Egypt! But You are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become
angry, and rich in unfailing love. You did not abandon them.

Holy Father, forgive those of us for being slow or reluctant to be grateful for the many blessings You

33

have bestowed upon us. Forgive those who are disobedient to Your Word and fail to celebrate the
Feast of Tabernacles with joy and gratitude. Forgive those who are able to bring their special offerings
during this special time but fail to do so. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).
Holy Spirit, remind us of all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me,
Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit
to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I
forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Lord, You are King! Let the nations tremble! You sit on Your throne between the cherubim. Let the
whole earth quake! You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all the nations. Let them praise Your
great and awesome name. Your name is holy! Mighty King, lover of justice, You have established
fairness. You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel. We exalt You, Lord our God!
We bow low before Your feet, for You are holy! In Jesus’ name, amen!

Prayer Topic #10:
A Prayer of Celebration for the Men of Our Windsor Village Church Family

Scripture Reading:
Daniel 6:26-27, Psalm 128

Reflections of the Heart:
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not
allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of
escape, that you may be able to bear it.” - I Corinthians 10:13

Scriptural Prayer:

Triumphant Father, we thank You for the men of our Church Family. Thank You for reminding them
daily that they are created in Your image. Thank You for crowning each of them with glory and honor.
Thank You for helping them to take their rightful place in the church, in their homes, and in society.
We, Your servants, give praise to You, Lord. Blessed be Your name now and forever! Everywhere
from east to west, Your name shall be praised. Lord, You are high above the nations; Your glory is
higher than the heavens. No one can be compared with You! Not to us, O Lord, but all glory will go to
Your name for your unfailing love and Your faithfulness.

Majestic Father, by faith, we declare that the men in our Church Family are saved, sanctified, and filled
with Your Holy Spirit. We declare that they are priestly providers and protectors of their families. They
are men who will not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but they allow You, Lord, to transform
them into new men by changing the way they think. Our men will daily confess that they are the head
and not the tail; they are always on top and never at the bottom. They are not victims of society, but
they are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus. We decree that the men in our Church Family
delight in Your law and meditate on it day and night, so they are trees planted along the riverbank―they
bear fruit each season; their leaves never wither and they prosper in all that they do.

Holy Spirit, help us with ways to best celebrate the men in our lives:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please rebuild our men where society has torn them down. Encourage our men to get the
help they need and to learn how to support and encourage each other. Instruct and teach our women
how to encourage and pray for the men in their lives. Help our men to be powerful, loving, and effective
husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, uncles and nephews. Help our men to fight against the
circumstances that have resulted in the absence of a father in African American families. Please
empower our men to become sons, husbands, and fathers who are respected and embraced in their
public and private lives.

Faithful Father, forgive our men for sins of disobedience, selfishness, lying, pornography, fornication,
adultery, homosexuality, and for not accepting the responsibility for leadership within their families and
the church. Forgive our wives and mothers for taking on the roles You have ordained for husbands and
fathers and for not allowing them to be the men You have created them to be. Lord, please help the
men, women, boys and girls in our congregation to forgive past hurts caused by their sons, brothers,
husbands, fathers, and other men, so that You can heal them. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that
you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind our men of those they need to forgive and help them to be
quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a
moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive.

35

As He reveals them, say “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds
in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help our men not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Exalted Lord, we praise Your name. Your name is great; Your glory towers over the earth and heaven.
You are worthy, Lord, to receive glory, honor, and power. You created all things, by your will they exist
and were created. You are Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #11:
A Prayer for Hope and Healing in The United States

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 105:1-8, Psalm 1

Reflections of the Heart:
When God called Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, the Lord reassured Moses that he could
accomplish the job. Just as Moses had faith in God, we must have faith that God will carry out His
perfect will here on earth through today’s political leaders. Offering up effective, fervent prayers for our
political leaders will benefit our city, state, and nation more than murmuring and complaining ever will.
Pray for our local, state, and national political leaders so that we can live in peace.

Scriptural Prayer:

Our Father, as Your children, we thank You for hearing us as we pray for our nation, the United States
of America. Thank You for blessing our communities with Your “shalom!” Thank You, Father, for
blessing those who trust in You, who have made You their hope and confidence. Thank You for loving
us so much that You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ to redeem us from a life of despair and hopelessness.
Gracious Father, we praise You with all our hearts. You merely spoke and the heavens were created.
You breathed the word, and all of the stars were born.

Loving Father, we confess the residents in our nation will depart from evil and do good; they will all
search for peace and work to maintain it. Our nation needs Your divine presence, wisdom, and
guidance. Today, we declare that You, alone, are our refuge and place of safety. You are our God, and
we trust in You. Lord, Your name is a strong fortress and those who run to You will find spiritual,
emotional, and psychological protection. We confess that even though victims of violence and their
families may feel pressure on every side by these tragedies, they will not be crushed and broken. They
may feel perplexed, but they will not give up and quit. We declare that racial division will not consume
our citizens’ hearts and minds. In Jesus’ name, we cancel the assignments of the spirits of racism, hate,
anger, violence, murder, rage and devastation. As Kingdom citizens, we render these spirits powerless.
Immortal Father, we command justice to run down like water and righteousness like a mighty stream in
America. As the Body of Christ, we renounce principalities of hatred and racism. We confess that
justice and righteousness will prevail in our nation, homes, workplaces, churches, schools and
communities. Lord, we believe that You will raise us above the acts of racism, hate, injustice, and
unrighteousness that our nation has witnessed.

Holy Spirit, I commit to pray for the following leaders this month:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, please help our nation to heal from the recent acts of violence. Remind us to not sin by
letting anger control us. Grant each of us the desire and commitment to walk daily in Your justice and
righteousness without prejudice or partiality. Guide parents on how to talk with their children about
these subjects in ways that will not instill fear, anger, hatred or unforgiveness. Speak to the hearts of
our nation’s leaders to reach a solution concerning racism, hate groups, thugs who peddle race-based
animosity and human agents of venom everywhere in America.

Abba Father, forgive our nation for acts of racism, hate, fear, and malice. Forgive our nation for its
injustice, prejudice, and oppression. Forgive those who seek to do evil instead of good. Forgive leaders
for loving power and money more than the people. Forgive us, the Body of Christ, for making our

37

political decisions based on the opinions, rhetoric, and untruths of political pundits and talking heads
who do not align their agendas with Yours. Forgive those leaders who say they are Christians, but
conduct their affairs in a manner that opposes Your Word. Father, please have mercy on this nation.
Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind all governmental
leaders and people of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy
Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to
reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them to you, say,
“I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, as citizens, help us not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Magnificent Lord, when You spoke, the world began! It appeared at Your command. You look down
from heaven and see the whole human race. From Your throne, You observe all who live on the earth.
O Lord, our Lord, Your majestic name fills the earth! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #12:
A Prayer for the United States Economy

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 8, Psalm 37:1-19

Reflections of the Heart:
God believes in economic development. He wants a nation to flourish. Psalm 33:12 states, “Blessed is
the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.” Let us pray
today for our nation’s economy!

Scriptural Prayer:

Gracious Father, we thank You for being faithful to the United States of America throughout our history.
Thank You for blessing us to prosper and to grow from generation to generation. Thank You for keeping
our nation through our economic hardships and financial conflicts. You have been merciful, Lord. This
whole earth, everything in it, and the people who inhabit it belong to You, O God. It is You who supplies
us with abundance. It is You who sustains us in times of lack. Your instructions are perfect, they revive
our souls. Your commandments are clear and right. They give us insight for living. We, Your children,
delight in them and love to meditate on them day and night. We are grateful that You are willing to bear
the heavy burdens of our nation so that we are free to worship You and receive rest. Dear Father, it is
You who strengthens our nation and holds us up with Your victorious right hand!

Holy Father, we stand in the authority of Jesus’ name, rebuking the principalities and powers that are
inciting conflict and destruction in our nation’s businesses, banks, oil and gas industry, and every other
financial entity that contributes to our national economy. We command our economic infrastructure to
stabilize and align to Your will, Lord. We confess that the hope of our nation’s citizens will no longer be
deferred. Lord, we declare that You will continue to raise up people within our nation’s financial
leadership who have a supernatural anointing like Joseph’s to receive, interpret, and administrate
visions that will save companies, restore jobs, and open new opportunities in stagnant sectors of our
economic markets. All-Knowing Father, we decree that Your solution will be sought and revealed in
the earth to justify American jobs and encourage innovation and global competitiveness among
domestic corporations, giving priority consideration to United States taxpayers.

Make a list of three businesses in your community and begin to specifically pray that they are
successful:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Glorious Father, we pray that Your generous outpouring of wisdom, discernment, and divine
understanding will be gladly received by all local, state, and national economic and governmental
leaders. Holy Spirit, we ask You to strategically assign men and women who are fully equipped to
reveal creative ideas and effective methods to the current presidential economic team. Show them
how to decrease our national deficit while continuing to provide the necessary standards, services, and
benefits to the American people. Holy Spirit, please revive the Body of Christ and remind us of who we
are − the light of the world and the salt of the earth. Give us divine motivation to boldly declare the Word
of God so that those who have become captives of this world’s system can be liberated. Help us, as a
nation, to reconnect to the Living God as our source and supply, and remove any thoughts of doubt,
fear, or dismay.

Loving Father, we repent on behalf of our nation for our many sins. We acknowledge that many of us

39

played an active role in causing the downturn of our economy. Forgive us for greed, arrogance,
selfishness, and oppression of the poor. Forgive our CEOs for overcompensating themselves and
placing their employees and companies in jeopardy in order to maintain their lavish lifestyles and greedy
appetites. Forgive those consumers who acted out of impulse and impatience and made unwise
choices, landing them and their families in tremendous debt. Merciful Father, please forgive our nation
for being selfish, reckless, and irresponsible with the blessings You intended to be handed down to the
generations following us. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit,
remind the citizens of our nation of those they need to forgive and help us all to be quick to forgive. As
for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the
Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them,
say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused
by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us, as a nation, not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Omnipotent God, how great are Your riches and wisdom and knowledge! You are the God who does
great things too marvelous to understand. It is You who performs countless miracles. We praise You,
Lord! Let everyone on earth bless Your holy name forever and ever! Everything comes from You and
exists by Your power and is intended for Your glory. All glory to You forever. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #13:
A Declaration of Divine, Kingdom Relationships

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 22:22-25, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Reflections of the Heart:
“Our love for God is measured by our everyday fellowship with others and the love it displays.”

~ Andrew Murray

Scriptural Prayer:

Abba Father, we thank You for righteous fellowship among the believers in our Church Family. We
thank You for the precious bond we have with one another through the Holy Spirit. Thank You for the
virtual events, activities and programs that help to create fellowship within our Church Family. We thank
You with all our hearts as we connect with Your Godly people. Lord, You are an awesome God. Your
deeds are so amazing; all who delight in You should ponder them. Everything You do reveals Your
glory and majesty. Your righteousness never fails. You are wonderful and Your name is highly exalted.
You are worthy of the glory, honor, and power. Lord, the heavens declare Your glory and the skies
display Your craftsmanship.

Father God, Your will is for us to live together in unity. As a Church Family, we will motivate one another
to acts of love and good works. We will not neglect our virtual gatherings; but we will encourage one
another in the faith. Iron sharpens iron, so we will surround ourselves with those who have like minds
so that we are positioned to glorify You in our public and private lives. We declare that our Church
Family will continuously enjoy righteous fellowship virtually, encouraging each other and building each
other up.

Holy Spirit, we ask that You align our relationships with Your will in our homes, church, jobs and
communities. Show each of us how to make more time in our daily schedules for Godly fellowship with
other believers. Help our Church Family to set the example of what righteous fellowship looks like. Knit
our hearts closer together in unconditional love. Holy Spirit, give us the courage to disassociate
ourselves from those who operate in wickedness and disobedience to God’s will. Replace our
unhealthy relationships with Godly relationships. Help us to let our light so shine before people that
they may see our good works and glorify You, our Heavenly Father.

Holy Spirit, show me how to strengthen the God-ordained relationships in my life during this
season:

Eternal Father, forgive us for acts of sinfulness. Forgive those of us who do not participate in Church
Family activities. Forgive those who continue in unrighteous relationships that keep them from
experiencing Your best for their lives. Forgive us for when we have been rude, unkind, and unfriendly
towards others. Forgive us all for neglecting to make the effort to build our God-ordained relationships.
Forgive us for the doors that we may have opened without knowing it from our childhood or adult
experiences. Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us
all of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

41

Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
O Lord, the God of our ancestor Israel, You are to be praised forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the
greatness, power, glory, victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is Yours.
This is Your Kingdom, Lord, and You are over all things. Wealth and honor come from You alone, for
You rule over everything. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Prayer Topic #14:
A Prayer of Thanksgiving to Our Father God, Jesus Christ (Our Big Brother), and the Holy Spirit
(Our Comforter)

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 113, John 1:1-13

Reflections of the Heart:
We set aside time today to give thanks for the Father’s awesome creative work in the earth, for the
sacrificial gift of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and for the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

Scriptural Prayer:

Gracious Father, we bless You. Thank You for being our Father, Redeemer, Shepherd, and King.
Thank You for reconciling us back to You through Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are thankful
to You for the Holy Spirit who is the promised Advocate who teaches and reminds us of Your Word.
We will praise You as long as we live. We will sing Your praises with our dying breath. Our hope is in
You, the Lord, our God. You created heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. You keep
every promise forever. We stand amazed at how awesome You are!

Mighty Father, today we revere and honor You. You are our God, and we humbly submit to Your will.
You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning, and the end. You existed before time and created
everything that exists. Lord, only You have held the ocean in Your hand. You measured off the heavens
with Your fingers and You know how much the earth weighs! You are truly amazing! Lord, You are
the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. You are good to everyone and shower compassion on
all of Your creation. Mighty King, You are our banner and shield, our strength and protection. Lord
Jesus, You are our Savior, our Redeemer, and through You we are justified. Holy Spirit, You are our
Advocate, our Helper, and the source of our power. We reverence and honor You, the Triune God.
Hallel YAH!

Take a moment and reflect on God’s presence in your life. Now, write down three things that
You are grateful to Him for and begin to praise Him:
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________
________________________________________________________________________________

Holy Spirit, continue to teach us how to love You, Jesus, our Brother, and our Father, God. Help us
daily to love the Lord with all our hearts, souls, and strength. Please remind each of us of the many
things that God does for us daily and help us to spend more time in praise and adoration. Teach us
how to be thankful in all circumstances, for it is God’s will for those of us who belong to Christ Jesus.
Holy Spirit, help us to always be mindful of Your presence in our daily lives and help us to be quick to
respond when You quicken us to action.

Forgiving Father, forgive us as a Church Family for our sins of pride, rebellion, disobedience,
selfishness, hatred, and idolatry. Lord, forgive us for offering You half-hearted worship. Forgive us for
disrespecting Your Name and treating You irreverently. Forgive those who choose to not bless and
honor You during Your feasts, which are Your special times of celebration. Forgive those of us who are
parents for not teaching our children to revere and adore You. Lord Jesus, forgive those who take Your
sacrifice for granted. Holy Spirit, forgive those who do not acknowledge You or Your presence in their
daily lives. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of
those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my
remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal names or

43

faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say, “I forgive name of
person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Praise the Lord, for the Lord, our God, the Almighty, reigns! Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord
God, the Almighty. Just and true are Your ways, O King of the nations. Who will not fear You and glorify
Your name? You alone are holy! All nations will come and worship before You, for Your righteous deeds
have been revealed. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A Declaration of Hope and Joy

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 29, Philippians 4:4-8

Reflections of the Heart:
God, the source of our hope, will fill us completely with joy and peace because we trust in Him. We will
overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Scriptural Prayer:

Omniscient Father, as a Church Family, we thank You for being our God. We thank You for saving us
through the sacrifice of Your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ. We thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to
instruct, guide, teach and comfort us. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for empowering us and filling our lives
with joy. Hallel YAH! Awesome Father, You are great and greatly to be praised. You are to be feared
above all gods. The earth is Yours and everything in it; the world and all its people belong to You. You
laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Lord, Your works are wonderful.
You are our help and shield. In You, do our hearts rejoice because we trust in Your holy name. Let
Your unfailing love continue to surround us Lord, for our hope is in You alone.

Everlasting Father, You have been so good to us as a Church Family. We have no reason to be
dejected and sad, for Your joy is our strength. Today, we confess that we will count it all joy when we
fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of our faith produces patience. We will let patience have
its perfect work in us so that we may be complete, lacking nothing. Lord, You are the very source of
hope! We boldly declare that You will fill us completely with joy and peace because we trust in You. We
will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit, here are three things that I am joyful for:

Holy Spirit, please instruct us in our relationships, ministries, careers, and finances. Make our hearts
strong, blameless, and holy as we stand before God, our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Remind us daily of the Word which tells us that a cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit
saps a person’s strength. Holy Spirit, please help each of us to develop a joyful disposition. Help us to
spread the Good News with gladness. May the joy that we have as a Church Family become
contagious among those we interact with.

Loving Father, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness, including strife, discord, jealousy, rivalries, gossip,
and any abuse of power. Forgive us for when we’ve allowed the cares of this world to rob us of our joy.
Father, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind us all of those we
need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive.

Immortal Lord, You are the blessed and only Almighty God. You are the King of kings, and the Lord of
lords. You alone can never die. You live in light so brilliant that no human can approach You. No

human eye has ever seen You, nor ever will. To You belongs all honor and power forever and ever. In
Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #16:
A Prayer for Caregivers

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 99, I Corinthians 13

Reflections of the Heart:
“It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life--that no man can sincerely try to help another
without helping himself.” ~ American Poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson

Scriptural Prayer:

Worthy Father, we praise Your wonderful Name. Thank You for those in our Church Family who have
assumed the responsibility as caregiver for a parent, child, relative or neighbor. Thank You for Your
sufficient grace which is given to each of them daily. Thank You for working in them and giving them
the desire and power to do what pleases You. We are grateful for their willingness to model Jesus in
the way that they give up their lives to meet the needs of others. Heavenly Father, we have seen You
in Your sanctuary and gazed upon Your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself.
How we praise You! Because You are our Helper, we will sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings. We
cling to You. Your strong right hand holds us securely. How joyful are those of us who fear You, Lord.
We delight in obeying Your commands.

Holy Father, we confess that in Your unsearchable wisdom, You have graced the caregivers in our
Church Family. We declare that they will not get tired of doing good; but that they will persevere until
the appointed time for them to reap their harvest of blessing. As they trust in You to fill them with new
strength, they will soar high on wings of eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and
not faint. They will remain strong and courageous; confident that the sacrifices they are making will be
rewarded. Lord, we decree that even when they plant in tears, they will harvest with shouts of joy. No
matter how challenging the task, they will do everything without complaining or arguing so that no one
can criticize them. As they do this, they will shine like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse
people. We declare that from Your glorious, unlimited resources, You, our Father, will empower them
with inner strength through the Holy Spirit.

Consider the caregivers you know, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you identify three ways you
can be a blessing to them today:

Holy Spirit, give comfort to those who spend their lives comforting others. Lord, for those who are now
parenting a parent or guardian, please help them to process this role reversal and give them the
strength and wisdom to handle this change without disrespecting their parent or guardian. Remind them
that the Father sees their sacrifices and He will reward them. Encourage them to not neglect their
mental and physical health and help them to find healthy, holy ways to relax. Please send others to
relieve them of their duties so that they can enjoy rest, fun and relaxation. Lord, please help the
caregivers to not grow resentful or angry; but help them to roll their cares upon You and trust that You
will take care of both them and the loved one they are caring for. Remove those who are abusive and
mean-spirited. As a Church Family, show us how we can support the caregivers among us.

Gracious Father, forgive those of us who take caregivers for granted. Forgive those who selfishly
overload them with tasks. Forgive those who are caregivers for succumbing to anger and frustration
when they should be patient and tenderhearted. Forgive those caregivers for murmuring and

complaining, and for being inconsiderate. Forgive those who may have been negligent and lazy while
caring for others. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed). Holy Spirit, remind
our caregivers of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit,
bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal
names and faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them, say “I forgive
names of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused by
unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, help our caregivers not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.
O Holy One of Israel, You are King! Let the nations tremble. You sit on Your throne between the
cherubim. Let the whole earth quake! You sit in majesty in Jerusalem, exalted above all the nations.
We exeqalt You and bow low before Your feet, for You are holy! In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer Topic #17:
A Prayer for Mature Adults

Scripture Reading:
Psalm 16:5-11, Titus 2:1-5

Reflections of the Heart:
We live in a society that celebrates youthfulness and looks down upon getting older. Billions of dollars
are spent on products and procedures to keep people looking and feeling young. Our elders have seen
things we couldn’t even imagine and survived things we could never comprehend facing. They are filled
with wisdom and experience that our society needs. Take some time to pray for the mature adults in
your life. Let us not forget them.

Scriptural Prayer:

Gracious Father, we thank You for our mature adults. Thank You for blessing each day of their lives.
Thank You for blessing them with an abundance of Your wisdom and knowledge. Thank You for
providing for their spiritual, emotional, financial and physical needs. Loving Father, we praise Your
name. We praise You because You are good. We will celebrate Your lovely name with music. We know
Your greatness and that You, our Lord, are greater than any other god. Your name, O Lord, endures
forever; Your fame is known to every generation. You are righteous in everything that You do; You are
filled with kindness. You are close to all who call upon You in truth. You grant the desires of those who
fear You; You hear their cries for help and rescue them. We praise You, Lord; may everyone on earth
bless Your holy name forever and ever.

Eternal Father, we confess that the older men in our Church Family will exercise self-control, are worthy
of respect and live wisely. They have strong faith and are filled with love and patience. We declare that
our mature women are honorable and righteous. They are not slanderous or heavy drinkers. Instead,
we confess that they will teach others what is good; they will train the younger women in our Church
Family to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to
do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. We decree that our mature men are models of God’s
strength and faithfulness and they will teach our young men to respect authority, provide for their wives
and children, live wisely, lead with compassion and fairness, and love their wives like Christ loves the
church. We declare that our mature adults will continue to flourish like palm trees and grow strong like
the cedars of Lebanon. Even in old age, they will still produce fruit and remain vital and green.

Holy Spirit, we know that some of our mature adults are lonely; please help us as a Church Family to
reach out to them and surround them with the love of the Father. Impress upon their family members
to come and visit them and spend quality time with them. Please help us to identify those who have
isolated themselves and show us how to effectively meet their needs. Lord, mature adults have worked
hard all their lives and some of them have seen their retirement funds depleted. Please open new
revenue streams so that they will not have to struggle or go without financially. Father, protect them
from those who would try to prey upon them with get-rich-quick schemes, unnecessary mediation,
predatory loans or any other schemes to steal from them. Increase their discernment and wisdom
when they make decisions, especially where their health and finances are concerned. Remind our
younger generations to regard our mature adults with honor and respect.

Write down the names of mature adults that you know. Now, write down ways that you can
enrich or bless their lives:

Merciful Father, forgive us as a nation for disregarding and disrespecting our mature adults. Forgive us
for viewing mature adults as feeble and disposable. Forgive those mature adults who don’t depend
completely upon You, but look at their circumstances. Forgive those who have allowed life to cause
them to grow bitter and angry. Forgive those individuals who do not check on or intentionally do not
spend time with their older relatives. Lord, forgive me for (list any sins that you have committed).
Holy Spirit, remind our mature adults of those they need to forgive and help them to be quick to forgive.
As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive. (Take a moment and ask the
Holy Spirit to reveal names or faces of people that you may need to forgive. As He reveals them,
say, “I forgive name of person(s).” Now, trust the Lord to heal any wounds in your soul caused
by unforgiveness.)
Holy Spirit, remind our mature adults not to yield to temptation but deliver them from the evil one.
Triumphant Lord, there is no one like You! You are great, and Your name is full of power. Who would
not fear You, O King of the nations? That title belongs to You alone! All glory majesty, power and
authority are Yours before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time. In Jesus’ name, amen.
