Leadership
Letter

Dear Church Family,

Let us all take a collective deep breath. As we look
over our shoulders at the year 2020, it is clear that it
has been a whirlwind of phenomenal changes and
challenges on all levels. When the COVID-19 pan-
demic rose up, we hadn’t seen it coming and had no
clue where it was going, but guess what? God knew
and He had our backs and a Divine plan.

Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples!
Shout to God with the voice of triumph! (Psalm 47:1)

For such a time as this, the Lord knew He had a congregation of Kingdom building, satan bust-
ing people who were not strangers to addressing the needs of the community. His vision, given
to a dynamic leader named Kirbyjon Caldwell, had already birthed The Power Center and the
Pointe 2.3.4. project that resulted in a 462-home subdivision, commercial park, medical entities,
elementary school, YMCA, independent senior living facility and The Kingdom Builders’ Center.

For the LORD Most High is awesome;
He is a great King over all the earth. (Psalm 47:2)

So despite the pandemic, the doors of The Windsor Village Church remained “open.” Pastors,
volunteers representing 75 ministries and staff took to the pulpit, streets, parking lots, phones
and social media to offer drive-in, drive-through, online and carefully orchestrated in-person
help and encouragement. As a result, The WVCF and the community have received prayer, af-
fordable and healthy food, health testing, voting sites, entrepreneurship opportunities, worship,
altar calls, Communion, fellowship and more.

Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises! (Psalm 47:6)

In the next few pages, through words, numbers, images and power plays, 03Page
you will find evidence of what the Lord has done through the WVCF over
the last several months. It is the Word and it is Truth, Windsor, we CAN do
all things through Christ who strengthens us!

SERVICE IN THE KINGDOM

Jesus said “the greatest among us shall be the servant
of us all.” We cannot become great without serving.
In fact, we cannot (even) fulfill our Christian mission
without serving! Accordingly, we should serve, serve,
serve! Below are ten (10) good reasons why you should
serve in a ministry and feel good about it.
You should serve because:

01 Jesus Christ served;
02 It is Biblical;
03 Someone has served and still serves you;
04 You will feel better;
05 It is deeply ingrained in our ancestral tradition;
06 You will help usher in God’s Kingdom on earth;
07 You will defeat the works of the devil;
08 You will bless others;
09 You will bless yourself; and
10 The Lord God Almighty will be pleased and glorified!

During the pandemic, The Windsor Village Church Family is still serving the community weekly at
the Food Bank Distribution at The Power Center on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Email [email protected] for more information.
Thanks for making a difference through your service.

Did you The WV Food Bank at The Power Center, which began in
Know? April in partnership with the Houston Food Bank and the City
of Houston to serve as a temporary site for food distribution
to families, has been granted permanent status? The Food
Bank has added a new service to package and distribute 100
food bags and boxes to homeless and elderly persons.

WV’s T3 (Total Temple Transformation) Health & Wellness Ministry is a key player in two grant-funded mental
health projects. T3 received $85,000 as a partner in The Hiram Clark Resiliency Project to equip youth with the
necessary tools to create change. T3 also supports a healing circle in Southwest Houston as part of a project
that provides relief and support services to African-American essential workers, who “bear immense mental
and personal burdens due to COVID-19.”

The KBC was a part of a number of Harris County election firsts which included, 1) a three-week early voting
period; 2) drive-through voting in a general election; 3) inside and drive-through voting at the same location.
In the opinion of an official with the Texas Attorney’s General’s Office,“The KBC is one of the best locations in
the county.”

Pastor Kim Orr takes Windsor’s “spiritual DNA” with her to Nashville as she steps into her new position as
Associate General Secretary of Discipleship Ministries and Upper Room publisher. The Discipleship Minis-
tries-WVCF connection is strengthened by the representation of three pastors who, along with Pastor Kim, are
“sons and daughters” of the WVCF.

The Power Center Food Park Truck was featured in an article in the Atlanta Black Star. “Houston Church
Steps Up to Help Black-Owned Food Truck Vendors Stay Afloat During COVID” was the headline for the article,
which included this quote from Kirbyjon Caldwell: “We’re very happy and honored to be of service, and we’re
glad that our entrepreneurs are adding value to the community and receiving the benefits.”
