The only Marshal
of IAF dies at 97

India lost its one of teh brave
martyrs, IAF Marshal,Arjan Singh
on Saturday while he ageing 98
years of age due to cardiac arrest.
Born in 1919 and beingv part of
many World events as a part of In-
dian Air Force. He was the officer
who actually shaped up the IAF dur-
ing its early years and while going
through the turmoil of partition in
1947.

After all what he did, in 2002, on the
occasion of Republic Day, he was
granted the honorary rank of Mar-
shal, the highest military rank attain-
able, which before him only two
Army chiefs, K M Carriappa and Sam
Manekshaw, had achieved.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who
visited Arjan Singh in hospital on Sat-
urday, mourned his death.“We re-
member his outstanding service to
the nation,” he said.

adieu to the world
