Job Title: Lead Youth Worker
Responsible to: Youth Work Coordinator
Responsible for: Assistant youth workers and volunteers
Location: Ashburton Youth Club, Roehampton SW15
Salary: £20,420 -24,820 pro rata (25 days annual leave pro rata)
Hours: 21 per week (including three evenings a week)
Job Purpose: To support Regenerate’s youth work in Roehampton to help improve
the outcomes of young people who live in Roehampton.
Overview:
Regenerate are looking to recruit a highly motivated and hard working individual as a
Lead Youth Worker to help lead the effective running of a new youth centre.
Regenerate is entering an exciting period of growth in size and impact as a charity,
and this new role is a key part of the strategic plan to ensure the development of our
youth work in another area. It is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious person
passionate about using their skills to provide effective support for the smooth running
of the youth work, to ensure the charity as a whole can achieve it’s aim of seeing
"transformation from the inside out" with the young people and the communities it
which it works.
Reporting directly to the Youth Work Coordinator, the role will be responsible for a
number of key youth work session and administrative tasks as well as working
alongside the Youth Work Coordinator to develop the progressive youth work
practice, to enable the youth work to move forward effectively.
Main Responsibilities
i) To manage and develop Youth Work session on the Ashburton estate in
Roehampton
ii) To help strengthen and develop Regenerate’s Youth Work practice.

• Lead three evening youth work sessions a week (between 6-9pm).
• Implement and facilitate a variety of planned activities for young people
between the age 11- 19 years old with a focus on helping young people to
create positive futures for themselves and their communities.
• Motivate young people to get involved in deciding and shaping a programme
of activities, enabling them to realise their potential and take positive action in
their lives.
• Proactively engage with young people and build positive relationships with
them and their families and the local community involving them in
consultation and information about the centre activities.
• Take responsibility to manage challenging behavior in an effective and
productive way, using Regenerate’s policies and procedures.
• Work effectively in leading a team of assistant youth workers and volunteers
to deliver good youth work practice.
• Implement and review risk assessments for the youth work activities ensuring
the safety of young people and volunteers.
• Ensure the equipment in your working area is in working order and kept clean
and tidy.
• Assist the youth work coordinator in collating monitoring and evaluation
information as integral part of the project.
• Attend youth work working groups.
• Attend regular supervision with the youth work coordinator and Regenerate’s
training in Safeguarding and first aid.
