Calling for Change

The increasing level of pollution on planet Earth is slowly destroying resources. This will
make it difficult for human, animals and plants to survive on Earth in the future. Therefore,
it is up to us now to start protecting Earth.

We can start by reusing out things. When going grocery shopping, use reusable cloth
bags instead of plastic bags provided by the shops. The plastic bag are not good for the
environment for when we dispose of them, they will end up in landfills or the sea. Since
plastic bags end up in the sea, the sea creatures might mistakenly think that they are
food. The creatures will eat the plastic bags and get sick and/or die

Instead of buying individually-packaged drinks, try using a reusable beverage
container. Apart from the helping to save the environment, it will help us save money too.
We should also print as little as possible. The more we print, the more paper we end up
using and the more trees have to be cut down. If we must print, try printing on recycled
paper. We can also print on both sides of the paper. This will reduce the amount paper
used. Another way to cut down our carbon footprints is by reducing our use of resources.
Try using energy-efficient light bulbs instead of incandescent bulbs. They will help us save
the environment and our money too. Also when we are not using the lights, TV and other
appliances, we should turn them off. Saving water will help save the environment too. One
way is by turning off the tap when brushing our teeth or soaping ourselves when
showering. In addition, only was a full load of laundry. It will help save both water and
electricity.

Recycling can help protect our planet too. It is very easy to recycle now as there are
recycling centers in every community. We can send plastic bottles, paper, cardboards,
metals, glass and others recyclables to recycling centers. This will not only help us save
the environment but also save us money too.

Changing our old habits will not be easy. However, we must gradually do it in order to
save Planet Earth for future generations.

sentences have been removed from the article. Choose from the sentences ( A-H ) to fit each
gap ( 1-6 ). There are two extra sentences which you do not need to use.

Visiting Hang Tuah Center

My family and I have always been fascinated by the history of

Malacca. Not too long ago, we visited the Hang Tuah Centre in Malacca.

The center is a museum and tourism complex. It is dedicated to the

well-known Malay hero, Hang Tuah. We were amazed by the lavishness

of the center. 1.

The entrance fee for the center is RM5 for the adults, RM3 for the
children aged seven to twelve and free for children under six years old.

2.

We learnt that Hang Tuah lived in the 1500s. His family were from Sungai

Duyung. This includes Thai, Tamil, Javanese and Chinese

3.

Along with his friends; Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekir and Hang Lekiu,

Hang Tuah studied Malay material arts. 4.

The Sultan of Malacca installed Hang Tuah and his four friends as his

personal bodyguards. The sultan awarded Hang Tuah with a keris and

bestowed the tittle Laksamana. We also learnt from the center that many

scholars and historians agree that Hang Tuah most probably did exist and is

not a myth. 5.
However, some believe that he was buried in

Palembang in Sumatra.

After visiting the main museum, we visited the five houses which are named

after the five warriors. We saw a field and viewing pavilion for silat, an

auditorium and food court. We also visited Hang Tuah's Well. It was believed

to have been built by Hang Tuah himself.

6.

After that, we drove back home. We were glad that we had visited
the Hang Tuah Center.

A Once when a man run amok and wanted to kill the Bendahara, Hang Tuah
rescued him.
B The architecture style in English.
C Its traditional Malaccan architectural style was done beautifully.
D Even during long dry seasons, the well never ran dry.
E Hang Tuah was said to have been fluent in twelve languages.
F His grave can be found at Tanjung Kling
G Hang Tuah had many skills.
H After paying the entrance fee we went to the main museum building.

Billy was unsure about getting it. He asked his older brother, Chris for advice.
Chris told him that he had bought a camera online and was very satisfied with it.
After listening to Chris, Billy decided to go ahead and buy his laptop online.

Firstly, Billy searched through a few online shopping platforms such as Lazada,
Shopee, Lelong and others to get the best deal. After a few days of research, he

either a mouse or a pendrive as a complimentary gift. Billy chose the former

The price of the laptop was originally RM1200 but since the shop was having a
sale, Billy managed to get it at a discounted rate. He only had to pay RM840 for
the laptop. Billy managed to save RM360. He felt very pleased. Billy used his
father's credit card to pay for his laptop.

Billy ordered the laptop on 20 May. He was asked whether he wanted the
laptop to be delivered by Go Delivery or Zoom Express. He chose the latter
as it was slightly cheaper. Billy then informed that he would get laptop

arrived on 26 May.
