ABOUT CSE DEPARTMENT

Department of Computer Science & Engineering has been established in the
year 2008 with the current annual intake of 120 students. Computer Science
Engineering (CSE) is one of the most sought after course in engineering. Today,
Computer Science Engineers are very highly sought after as they are now
developing the most complex and innovative forms of technology that we all use
today.

Because of the broad range of topics within computer science and
Engineering and the diverse interests of students, the department also offers with
the following specializations: B.Tech in CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Machine
Learning) and B.Tech in CSE (IoT & Cyber Security including Blockchain
Technology) with an intake of 60 each along with regular B.Tech CSE. These
specializations are in demand just as regular CSE program and are turning out to
be an essential for students to stay relevant in the evolving jobs market.

The department has competent and committed faculty which encourages
students' involvement in various co-curricular activities along with their academics.
The department has well equipped state-of-the-art computer laboratory with more
than 500 systems. Graduates from the CSE department are heavily recruited by
many top companies like TCS, Infosys, WIPRO, Oracle, Tech Mahindra, HCL,
Syntel, etc. We are equally proud of our alumni and their high achievements over
the years, and our many talented students who embody the hope of tomorrow.
Many of the alumni hold key positions in reputed organizations within the country
and abroad. Department of CSE has good interactions and MOUs with leading
technology domain Training & Development Industries to provide adequate training
and opportunities, with exposure to emerging cutting edge technologies. The
department has started the IEEE-Computer Society and CSI chapters through
which regular seminars and workshops are organized by the students. The
Department was accredited by NBA-AICTE, New Delhi.

Computer Science Department exposes students to a broad range of subjects
involving advanced computer engineering and its application in industry.

The Department imparts world class training and platform for research to the
students. The Department provides state of the art computing facilities to the
students enabling them to stay a step ahead. It also promotes active industry-
institute collaboration by identifying key areas of interest to the industry and taking
part in sponsored research projects and consultancy services.

The Department also plays host to a number of workshops, seminars, guest
lectures, conferences, faculty development programs, industrial tours and visits
etc.,

The four-year course that lead to a degree in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech),
adopt a University-mandated semester system of 8 semesters. Each semester is of
16 weeks duration.

Vision of the Department

To become a center of excellence in computer science and engineering by enriching
the problem solving skills and teaching environment that adapts swiftly to the
challenges of the society and producing professionals who shall be the leaders in
technology innovation, research, entrepreneurship and management.

Mission of the Department

M1: To Provide quality undergraduate education in Computer Science and
Engineering so as to prepare our undergraduates to compete in the job market and
to contribute to the economic, scientific, and social development.

M2:To Develop student’s verbal and written communication skills, and instill a
desire to pursue lifelong learning by utilizing state-of-the-art resources.

M3: To Enable students to have global impact through innovative, quality programs
and research that emphasizes collaborative partnerships and success of a diverse
student, faculty and community.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) Offered by CSE Dept.

PEO 1: To acquire the essential knowledge of basic sciences and fundamentals in
engineering and analyze technical solutions to computational problems by
developing the algorithms.

PEO 2: To apply knowledge in the identification, design, development, production,
configuration and maintenance of computing systems for real life problems.

PEO 3: To develop managerial skills, meeting societal needs, leadership,
entrepreneurial skills, sustainable competitive edge in R&D and adhering
professional and ethical skills.

Program Outcomes (POs)

A student will be able to

PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics and science, with
fundamentals of Computer Science & Engineering to be able to solve complex
engineering problems related to CSE.

PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, Formulate, review research literature and analyze
complex engineering problems related to CSE and reaching substantiated
conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering
sciences.

PO3: Design/Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering
problems related to CSE and design system components or processes that meet the
specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety and
the cultural societal and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct Investigations of Complex problems: Use research–based knowledge
and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation
of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern Tool Usage: Create, Select and apply appropriate techniques,
resources and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling
to computer science related complex engineering activities with an understanding of
the limitations.

PO6: The Engineer and Society: Apply Reasoning informed by the contextual
knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the
consequent responsibilities relevant to the CSE professional engineering practice.

PO7: Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of the CSE
professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts and
demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8: Ethics: Apply Ethical Principles and commit to professional ethics and
responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO9: Individual and Team Work: Function effectively as an individual and as a
member or leader in diverse teams and in multidisciplinary Settings.

PO10: Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities
with the engineering community and with society at large such as able to
comprehend and with write effective reports and design documentation, make
effective presentations and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11: Project Management and Finance: Demonstrate knowledge and
understanding of the engineering management principles and apply these to one’s
own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in
multidisciplinary environments.

PO12: Life-Long Learning: Recognize the need for and have the preparation and
ability to engage in independent and life-long learning the broadest context of
technological change.
