Vice President’s Message

A number of events were organized by the department in last six months. Our
committed faculty forms the backbone for every endeavour we enter into. A
clutch of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that were organized ensure
that each student gets more opportunities to display his or her varied skill sets

Secretary Message

Providing ample opportunities in engineering education is one of the most
fundamental obligations we owe to our students because in PSCMRCET we
are driven by the belief that every student deserves a high quality
education. Eyelights -2019 provides an intersection of great challenge and
great opportunity for the students to review their efforts and to analyze
their achievements in research and development. Technology is evolving at a
dizzying rate and our classrooms may not be designed to keep pace with it.
There may be a lot wrong in the style of education but the pages of Eyelights-2019 tell the tale of
all that have been a part of what is right
about the education they get in CSE Dept!

I am quite pleased to learn about the forthcoming issue of the CSE Dept annual
magazine, ‘Eyelights-2019’. The title amply gives expression to the educational
philosophy of ‘PSCMRCET', namely, an integral and holistic vision of life’s
realities. As we know, reality is a multifaceted diamond and without Eyelights-
2019 we won’t understand the fullness of meaning and life. No doubt this
creative endeavour will bring out an array of artistic and scientific expressions
with distinct individual al signatures. I do appreciate and applaud the editorial
team for their successful completion of this tedious yet daunting task of putting
together the myriad thoughts and dreams of our students and faculty into a

education, and a magazine is the perfect amalgamation of both. It harnesses the creative energies
of the academic community, and distils the essence of their inspired imagination in the most
brilliant way possible. Hence, I am delighted to know that CSE Dept's magazine “Eyelights-2019”

ABOUT CSE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in the academic year
2008 with an annual intake of 60. The intake was increased to 120 from the academic year 2010. Five
batches of students have graduated so far. Computer Science Department exposes students to a broad
range of subjects involving advanced computer engineering and its application in industry. The
Department imparts world class training and platform for research to the students. The Department
provides state of the art computing facilities to the students enabling them to stay a step ahead. It also
promotes active industry-institute collaboration by identifying key areas of interest to the industry and
taking part in sponsored research projects and consultancy services. The Department also plays host to
a number of workshops, seminars, guest lectures, conferences, faculty development programs,
industrial tours and visits etc., The four-year course that lead to a degree in Bachelor of Technology
(B.Tech), adopt a University-mandated semester system of 8 semesters. Each semester is of 16 weeks
duration.

VISION

To become center of excellence in computer science and engineering by enriching the problem
solving skills and teaching environment that adapts swiftly to the challenges of the society and
producing professionals who shall be the leaders in technology innovation, research, entrepreneurship
and management.

MISSION

M1: To practice the students with essential concepts, logical ability, problem solving and
programming skills.

M2: To promote teaching and learning process that yields advancements in computer science and
engineering leading to innovations and research.

M3: Practicing the organizational and leadership skills to the students with the multidisciplinary
knowledge through projects, industry training, leading to a sustainable competitive edge in research
and development to serve the society needs.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOS)

PEO1: To acquire the essential knowledge of basic sciences and fundamentals in engineering
and analyze technical solutions to computational problems by developing the algorithms.
PE02: To apply knowledge in the identification, design, development, production,
configuration and maintenance of computing systems for real life problems.
PE03: To develop managerial skills, meeting societal needs, leadership, entrepreneurial
skills, sustainable competitive edge in R&D and adhering professional and ethical skills.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POS)

A student will be able to
PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics and science, with fundamentals of
Computer Science & Engineering to be able to solve complex engineering problems related to CSE.

PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, Formulate, review research literature and analyze complex
engineering problems related to CSE and reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of
mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

PO3: Design/Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems related
to CSE and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate
consideration for the public health and safety and the cultural societal and environmental
considerations.
PO4: Conduct Investigations of Complex problems: Use research–based knowledge and research
methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the
information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern Tool Usage: Create, Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern
engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to computer science related complex
engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The Engineer and Society: Apply Reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess
societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the
CSE professional engineering practice.

PO7: Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of the CSE professional engineering
solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for
sustainable development.
PO8: Ethics: Apply Ethical Principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and
norms of the engineering practice.
PO9: Individual and Team Work: Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in
diverse teams and in multidisciplinary Settings.
PO10: Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the
engineering community and with society at large such as able to comprehend and with write effective

instructions.

ICCET 2018

The second International Conference from PSCMR College of Engineering and
Technology, Vijayawada was Held From 2nd April 2018 to 3rd April 2018. The Research
papers from all the engineering streams and also diversified areas of technology have been
invited and we had tremendous response from more than 300 people. At the outset 130
people have attended and 100 papers have been presented in various branches of engineering.
The highlights are as listed below.

 More than 40 papers has been presented in CSE
 The Department of CSE has achieved best papers
 From more than 60 institutions Dignitaries belongs different areas of Technology,

R&D was decorated the event by delivering the high end technical skills
 The event was organized in four sessions, two per day

2. As desired by himalaya guruji founder of shanthi ashramam trust and Sri Somisetty

website for shanthi ashramam trust, KURNOOL.

18-07-2018 in KURNOOL. Dignitaries attended Appreciated the service provided by PSCMRCET
College and Distributed certificates to Mentor and the students.
4. PSCMRCET shall develop a website for K.B.N junior college as desired by principal of K.B.N

Karunaa Eye Bank. Under the supervision of Mrs.G.Padmaja Associate Professor of CSE,
M.V.D.Kiran, D.Nishitha and Ch.Pranusha of CSE students Developed the website for Karunaa
Eye Bank.
Website inauguration done by Justice R. MadhavaRao, Krishna District consumer’s forum at
Thummalapalli kalashethram, Vijayawada on December 27th 2018. Dignitaries distributed the

IDEATHON BY H-LABS

In view of students research centric with Robotics, H-Labs (a product of H-Bots)
incubation center is established and inaugurated on 22-11-2018 by CEO PSV KISSHAN
garu, CEO of H-Bots and Mr. Syed Muthahar. On behalf of this the phase of Ideathon a
three days workshop is conducted by Mr. Syed Muthahar as resource person , from 29-11-
2018, 30-11-2018, and 1-12-2018. Several ideas has been proposed by team of (6 students of
10 batch) students.

1. GET INSPIRED BY SATISH VELIVETI (15-12-
2018)

All the students of Potti Sri Ramulu engineering
college has participated in the Motivational Talk
“GET INSPIRED” by Satish Veliveti on 15-12-
2018. he emphasized on how to list out the fears and
strengths of a candidate and work them out
gradually, to ward off inhabitations that prevent
them from achieving goals.

2. MASTERING YOUR THOUGHTS(30-11-2018)

in the seminar “MASTERING YOUR

3. 70TH REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS(26-1-
2019)
70th Republic day is grandly celebrated in PSCMR
engineering college the event was attended by all the
students and staff of the college. Principal Dr. K.
Nageswara Rao, Secretary Sri R.V Subba Rao and
Treasurer Sri K. Venkateswara Rao have
participated in the event. Flag hoisting is done by the
Management committee members and Principal sir.

4. ROAD MAP TO EXEL IN CAREER (5-1-2019)
A one day Workshop on ROAD MAP TO EXEL
IN CAREER was conducted in CSE Dept. by
T.V.Sethu Madhava Rao, Former vice president,
WIPRO to guide the Faculty and Students in their
respective areas how to become success in studies
and working environment and how to turn the tough
situation as a stepping stone to become success.

5. H-BOTS INAUGRATION (22-11-2018)
H-BOTS lab has been inaugurated in PSCMR College on 22-
11-2018 by Sri Winny Patro , CEO, AP Invitation Society and
Sri P. Subba Raju, senior officer and Co-Founder and CSO of
Cross Borders and real shoppee.

6. JIGNASA (29-12-2018)

JIGNASA 2K18 has been grandly celebrated on 29-12-2018. Projects developed by CSE
students are exhibited in Project expo. Students & Faculty
have actively participated.
7. STUDENTS GORA SCIENCE EXHIBITION (5-12-
2018)

6 teams from second year CSE students are participated in
National level GORA Science project Expo. Among 800 student
participants from various colleges and schools Manasa,
Krishna Keerthi, Harika and Sasi durga team won the second
prize for the project entitled “Obstacle ,Depth avoiding Robot”.

8. GAMIFICATION WORKSHOP FROM APPSSDC

(28-11-2018)

APSSDC has Organized for Gamification workshop using Build
Box for first, second and third year students. 1st Year to 3rd year
students Developed many games using BUILD BOX.

9. GIS DAY (14-11-2018)

GIS Day 2018 Organized by CSE on 14-11-2018.B.Sarth
Chandra, Productive engineer, ESRI conducted a hands on
session on Arc GIS Web Maps. All the faculty of CSE are
participated in the workshop.

10. A TWO DAY NATIONAL LEVEL WORKSHOP ON
CYBER SECURITY (24-9-2018)

A two Day National level workshop on Cyber security was
conducted on 24-9-2018 and 25-9-2018 by J.Vamsidhar,
Manager, CTG security Solutions. Provide overview of Internet
Security. The objective of this workshop is to teach the basic
principles of cyber security from the perspective of providing

security awareness and its best practices for the real world, To
familiarize about the anti-virus, anti-spam and anti-spyware
tools currently available, learn the latest Internet security
techniques, firewalls etc., provide a basic knowledge of ethical
hacking.
11. START UP INDIA YATRA (1-9-2018)

Startup India has initiated a caravan Camp at many colleges in
India they have arrives our campus to educate and enroll
students towards Startups. More Than 20 Students has been
enrolled with new Ideas.

12. AN IEEE WORKSHOP ON ARDUINO AND ITS
APPLICATIONS

An IEEE Workshop on ARDUINO was conducted by Mr. Hari
Om CEO of Drone Technologies to Explore about what is
ARDUINO and how it works, how to use an ARDUINO, how
safely code ARDUINO using C and C++ along with ARDUINO
specific programming, Understand best practice concepts for
programming and prototyping Use a wide variety of hardware
and components and prototype to projects using a breadboard
Build your own innovative project with ARDUINO.

72nd Independence Day of India was celebrated and hoisted the
National Flag by the Management and Principal on15th of
August 2018 Wednesday, to pay tribute and remember all the
