Vice President’s Message

A number of events were organized by the department in last six months. Our
committed faculty forms the backbone for every endeavour we enter into. A
clutch of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities that were organized ensure
that each student gets more opportunities to display his or her varied skill sets

Secretary Message

Providing ample opportunities in engineering education is one of the most
fundamental obligations we owe to our students because in PSCMRCET we
are driven by the belief that every student deserves a high quality
education. Eyelights -2019 provides an intersection of great challenge and
great opportunity for the students to review their efforts and to analyze
their achievements in research and development. Technology is evolving at a
dizzying rate and our classrooms may not be designed to keep pace with it.
There may be a lot wrong in the style of education but the pages of Eyelights-2019 tell the tale of
all that have been a part of what is right
about the education they get in CSE Dept!

Principal’s Message

I am quite pleased to learn about the forthcoming issue of the CSE Dept annual
magazine, ‘Eyelights-2019’. The title amply gives expression to the educational
philosophy of ‘PSCMRCET', namely, an integral and holistic vision of life’s
realities. As we know, reality is a multifaceted diamond and without Eyelights-
2019 we won’t understand the fullness of meaning and life. No doubt this
creative endeavour will bring out an array of artistic and scientific expressions
with distinct individual al signatures. I do appreciate and applaud the editorial
team for their successful completion of this tedious yet daunting task of putting
together the myriad thoughts and dreams of our students and faculty into a

Nurturing creativity and inspiring innovation are two of the key elements of a successful
education, and a magazine is the perfect amalgamation of both. It harnesses the creative energies
of the academic community, and distils the essence of their inspired imagination in the most
brilliant way possible. Hence, I am delighted to know that CSE Dept's magazine “Eyelights-2019”
is ready for publication.

ABOUT CSE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established in the academic year
2008 with an annual intake of 60. The intake was increased to 120 from the academic year 2010. Five
batches of students have graduated so far. Computer Science Department exposes students to a broad
range of subjects involving advanced computer engineering and its application in industry. The
Department imparts world class training and platform for research to the students. The Department
provides state of the art computing facilities to the students enabling them to stay a step ahead. It also
promotes active industry-institute collaboration by identifying key areas of interest to the industry and
taking part in sponsored research projects and consultancy services. The Department also plays host to
a number of workshops, seminars, guest lectures, conferences, faculty development programs,
industrial tours and visits etc., The four-year course that lead to a degree in Bachelor of Technology
(B.Tech), adopt a University-mandated semester system of 8 semesters. Each semester is of 16 weeks
duration.

VISION

To become center of excellence in computer science and engineering by enriching the problem
solving skills and teaching environment that adapts swiftly to the challenges of the society and
producing professionals who shall be the leaders in technology innovation, research, entrepreneurship
and management.

MISSION

M1: To practice the students with essential concepts, logical ability, problem solving and
programming skills.

M2: To promote teaching and learning process that yields advancements in computer science and
engineering leading to innovations and research.

M3: Practicing the organizational and leadership skills to the students with the multidisciplinary
knowledge through projects, industry training, leading to a sustainable competitive edge in research
and development to serve the society needs.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOS)

PEO1: To acquire the essential knowledge of basic sciences and fundamentals in engineering
and analyze technical solutions to computational problems by developing the algorithms.
PEO2: To apply knowledge in the identification, design, development,
production, configuration and maintenance of computing systems for real life problems.
PEO3: To develop managerial skills, meeting societal needs, leadership,
entrepreneurial skills, sustainable competitive edge in R&D and adhering professional and
ethical skills.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (POS)

A student will be able to
PO1 Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering
fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2 Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex
engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics,
natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3 Design/Development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and
design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration
for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4 Conduct Investigations of Complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and
research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis
of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5 Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern
engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an
understanding of the limitations.

PO6 The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess
societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the
professional engineering practice.

PO7 Environment and Sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering
solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for
sustainable development.
PO8 Ethics: Apply Ethical Principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities
and norms of the engineering practice.
PO9 Individual and Team Work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader
in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
PO10 Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the
engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write
effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear
instructions.
PO11 Project Management and Finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the
engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader
in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
PO12 Life-Long Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage

IDEATHON BY H-LABS

In view of students research centric with Robotics, H-Labs (a product of H-Bots)
incubation center is established and inaugurated on 22-11-2018 by CEO PSV KISSHAN
garu, CEO of H-Bots and Mr. Syed Muthahar. On behalf of this the phase of Ideathon a
three days workshop is conducted by Mr. Syed Muthahar as resource person , from 29-11-
2018, 30-11-2018, and 1-12-2018. Several ideas has been proposed by team of (6 students of
10 batch) students.
