Hi,
This is your Policy Hand-Book. It was prepared to help you better
understand what you can generally expect from Sumtwo. Read the manual
now and keep it in a convenient place. You will want to refer to your
handbook when you have questions about company policies and benefits.
You may not find answers to all your questions in the handbook. It is neither
a law book nor a catalog of personnel policies. In preparing this handbook,
we have not tried to give you the minute details of each policy and they are
otherwise available on the HRMS. Instead, we have attempted to present a
summary of some of the important policies.
Circumstances will obviously require that the policies, practices and benefits
described in the handbook change from time to time. The company reserves
the right to amend, modify, rescind, delete, supplement or add to the
provisions of this handbook as it deems appropriate from time to time in it’s
sole and absolute discretion. Sumtwo will keep you informed of any other
changes as they occur.

On your first day at Sumtwo, HR will walk you through an induction
program to:
To welcome and familiarize you with the organization and make you
feel comfortable.
To provide a description of your career path within the organization
To articulate performance expectations from the employees
Introduce you to the department heads and the organization
structure.
To tell you about-expected behavior and office conduct.
To inform you about generic information on Software Industry.

Sumtwo has a 6-day working week with a lunch interval of 60 minutes and two tea-
coffee breaks of 15 minutes each. Working hours are: 9:30 am – 7 pm. Saturdays are
half days and Second Saturdays are off. Employees should mark the in & out
timings in the register kept at the Security office when they move out during office
hours( except during lunch break).
It is mandatory for all employees to register their attendance on the
Biometric System by 9.30 a.m, barring which they will be considered absent.
In case an employee is late due to any reason, he/she must contact the
respective manager/ HR Department in prior.

Sumtwo maintains a pleasant, congenial and safe working environment. In
order to accomplish this objective and to protect individual employees, well-
defined policies, procedures and guidelines are in place. These are not
exhaustive, as it would be impossible to develop rules covering every possible
situation. You are expected to adhere to accepted standards of conduct and
courtesy. Violation of these standards may result in disciplinary action even
leading to dismissal.
An employee is expected to maintain a smart appearance at all time during
his/her hours of work and to follow any rule of the Company relating to
appearance. All the employees are expected to wear clean and presentable
clothes. The Office environment reflects the Company’s way of working and
employees are expected to maintain a professional standard.

As a way of monitoring performance and assisting in your job, Sumtwo uses an
appraisal system. There will be an assessment done after your probation period is
over and an annual appraisal where your manager will with you on how have
performed against the set objectives and key functional skills.
Additionally it will enable you to agree to future objectives and develop a personal
development plan detailing any training that you may need to help achieve your
objectives and improve performance.
The performance appraisal will be included in your personnel file and is referred
to in regard to salary increases, transfers, promotions or any other change in
employment status. Should one’s overall performance indicate that one is not
meeting expected levels, one will not be eligible for a salary increase for the current
review. Subsequent increases will depend on whether the employee’s performance
improves to expected levels.

SumTwo recognizes the need of employees to accommodate their personal needs and
therefore requirement to take time off of the work occasionally. However, as far as
possible, leaves must be planned well in advance so as to avoid any possible loss to
the business.
Leave eligibility would be on a calendar year basis and is the maximum eligibility
in a year. All leave requests have to be sent to Team Lead/Managers for approval.
Non-approved leave may result in loss of pay.
An employee is eligible for Annual Leave after completion of Probation, effective
from the employment date. You will be eligible for 12 days of annual leave after one
full year of service.
Sumtwo also observes 12 public holidays in a calendar year.

Though we would be sorry to see you go, if you wish to part ways with Sumtwo, you
can do so by giving two month’s notice as per the terms & conditions of your
employment agreement. In case you remain absent from duty without prior
permission in writing from the management or if you proceed on leave without
prior sanction or overstayed the sanctioned leave without first getting it
sanctioned, for a continuous period of three days, your service is liable to be
terminated without any further reference to you.
SumTwo can terminate employment services with notice. Such notice will not be
deemed necessary in case of termination on grounds of serious neglect or
dereliction of duty, breach of rules and regulation or conduct prejudicial to the
interest of the company.

Sumtwo wants to provide a harassment-free environment for its employees.
Sumtwo will neither tolerate nor condone behaviour that is likely to undermine the
dignity or self-esteem of an individual, or create an intimidating, hostile or
offensive environment.
There are several forms of harassment but all can be defined as any unwelcome
action by any person, whether verbal or physical, on a single or repeated basis,
which humiliates insults or degrades.
Employees engaging in either harassing or violent activities will be subject to
discipline, which may include termination of employment, removal from Boards or
committees and possibly criminal charges.

If something is bothering you, please do not hesitate to discuss it with your
Reporting Manager. The Reporting Manager or a member of the Human Resources
Division are people whom you can approach on a confidential basis. Since the
Reporting Manager is the one who understands you best, it is recommended that
you approach your Reporting Manager first.

Human Resource Team will continue to work to improve this manual from time to
time.
The rules & regulations mentioned in this Manual are subject to change at the
discretion of the Management and all the employees will be governed by the most
current rules and regulations.
