Answering the Call:Jenny’s StoryEver since becoming a nurse, Jenny felt a calling to serveinternationally. After following Humanity & Hope United for years, shewas inspired by the practical, hope-filled work and decided to join atrip to Honduras. Although traveling to Honduras was far outside hercomfort zone and she wasn’t sure what to expect, she stepped boldlyinto the unknown. One unforgettable moment came in the community of Caballo dePiedra, when she met Carla, a school teacher. Holding Carla’s baby,Jenny listened as Carla shared how her life had improved since H&Hpartnered with her community. “I was moved by her strength andresilience,” Jenny recalls. The trip reshaped Jenny’s understanding of service and faith.“Serving with H&H showed me how God works through willing handsto bring hope to broken places. The people of Honduras taught mewhat it means to trust God and find joy even with little.”Her advice to others considering a trip: “Take the leap of faith. God wants to do as much in you as Hewants to do through you.”Through this experience, Jenny discovered that serving others transforms both the community and the heartof the servant — a living example of H&H’s impact in action.“Serving withH&H showedme how Godworks throughwilling hands tobring hope tobroken places.”

Strong communities start with safespaces and the infrastructure tosupport them.INFRASTRUCTURE05In La Coroza, we built a new playground so childrencan experience the joy of childhood. With swings, slides, and space to play, kids now have a safe placeto laugh, grow, and dream—creating a brighter, more hopeful environment for the next generation.Phase One of the Dos Caminos Water Systemmarked a major step toward clean, safe water forthe community. This phase included drilling a newwell, installing a submersible pump, and adding asmall tank for residents to collect water. For years, families relied on contaminated sources, but thismilestone brings them closer to lasting access tosafe, drinkable water.146165ENJOYING NEW LACOROZA PLAYGROUNDINDIVIDUALS TOHAVE CLEAN WATER NEW BATHROOMS INCABALLO DE PIEDRAThank you to so many who came together in Octoberto help us fund bathrooms for Caballo de Piedra.Construction is underway! Generous Hearts Build Hope:Doña Prudencia’s StoryA single mother who has faced the challenged of poverty all her life,Doña Prudencia Zavala spent years raising her children in a fragilehome deep in the Sula Valley. She lives at the constant mercy of thenearby river flooding – routinely evacuating her home, and thenreturning to find their belongings ruined.Yet even amid hardship, she thought of others. Years ago, whenHumanity & Hope first began partnering with La Cuchilla, she donateda piece of her own land so a water tower could provide clean water toher community. Though she had little, she chose to give.Throughout the years, she patiently waited and prayed for a new home, holding onto hope while enduringthe challenges of poverty. This year, her dream became a reality when H&H received the funds to build her a safe, floodproof home, and a team of volunteers helped construct it in July. Now, she has a stilted home with two bedrooms, akitchen, a bathroom, and a living room built for her and her youngest daughter.Darwin Suazo, on the H&H staff, shared that the moment she stepped inside, her face lit up with joyand gratitude.“I thank God and the foundation for our new home,” she shared. Now able to live with her family in a safe, floodproof home, Doña Prudencia’s house stands as a symbol of stability, dignity, and God’s faithfulness —apowerful reminder that even the smallest acts of generosity can come full circle and build hope.

From Struggle to Strength:Orfilia’s storyOrfilia is a 42-year-old woman from Caballo de Piedra whohas been living with type 2 diabetes. When our health teamvisited her community in May, her lab results showed herblood sugar was dangerously high. Together with ourvolunteer nurse, Kelly Frisner-Gephart, we reviewed herresults, adjusted her medications, and provided practicaleducation on how daily habits of consistent treatment, nutrition, and physical activity can transform her health.During this visit, the H&H team empowered Orfilia andother diabetic patients in Caballo de Piedra towardlongterm health by hosting a cooking workshop fordiabetic patients and equipped them with resources toprepare balanced meals using locally available ingredients. In the months that followed, Orfilia embraced these changes wholeheartedly and began practicing what ourteam taught her. When Kelly returned for a follow-up appointment on October 24, her new A1C test showeda remarkable improvement—from 11.8% down to 6.4%. Orfilia shared that she feels stronger, healthier, andmore motivated than ever to continue caring for her body. Her story reflects what we strive for through every initiative: empowerment that leads to lastingtransformation. We’re proud of Orfilia’s courage and commitment—and grateful to have walked alongsideher on this journey toward hope and healing.

In the small rural community of Remolino, where dusty roads once dimmed the promise of opportunity, livedLoany Buezo—a young girl who dreamed of studying and creating a better life. From an early age, sheunderstood that education was the key to unlocking a different future. When H&H arrived in her village in 2011, Loany was in sixth grade. Her family’s limited income barelycovered basic needs, and continuing her studies seemed impossible. When she heard that the foundationoffered support for students to attend secondary school, she didn’t hesitate. With a smile and firmconviction, she said, “yes.”The challenges ahead were not easy. Every morning for two years, Loany walked two kilometers to catch thebus that took her to school and made the same trip home each evening. There were no computers orinternet access; still, she and her classmates gathered at night to study under a single lightbulb, driven bythe hope of a brighter future.Over time, their hard work paid off. With H&H’s guidance and the generosity of sponsors, Loany gainedaccess to school supplies, transportation, and — most importantly — the motivation to keep going. That’s when she met her sponsors, Ally and Megan, who supported not only her education but also herheart. “Each video call reminded me that I wasn’t alone, that someone somewhere believed in me,”she recalls.Opportunity, Transformation& A Future: Loany’s Story

As Loany entered tenth grade, a new questionarose: What’s next? After finishing high school, she was offered the opportunity to pursue aLaboratory Technician degree at the NuevoMilenio Evangelical Christian University (UCENM)in San Pedro Sula. Adjusting to city life wasdifficult — long days, late classes, anddemanding exams tested her perseverance.Years later, Loany became the first university graduate in her family. Her mother, Kenya, couldn’t hide her tears of joy. Her father andgrandfather celebrated proudly too. Loany had achieved what onceseemed unreachable.Today, she works in a laboratory in Sulaco, often taking on two shifts tohelp support her household. She also encourages her siblings to chasetheir dreams—especially her younger brother, Gerald, who is nowsponsored through the foundation.“Seeing my brother have tutors, computers, transportation, and food makesme realize how blessed this new generation is,” she shares. “Thefoundation and my sponsors were instruments of God to fulfill this dream. They gave me opportunity, transformation, and a future.”“H&H hasn’t given me just one thing,it has given me the opportunity tostartthe transformation of mypresent, and a promising future.\"“There were nights when I stayed up until dawn,” she says, “but I knew every effort had a purpose.”Her journey wasn’t without obstacles. One day, she was robbed on the bus, losing what little she had. Eventhen, the foundation stepped in to ensure she could continue. It has been eight years since her journey began. Through faith, perseverance, and the support ofcompassionate people, Loany turned her dreams into reality—and in doing so, lit the way for othersto follow.Your generosity builds futures filled with hope and purpose. Enduring multiple losses, deep grief, and hisown personal challenges, he easily could have been left defeated. In the middle of that darkness, the Hombre to Hombre Retreatbecame a place of refuge.“This year marks my third retreat,” he shares. “Every year I take homeeven more beautiful experiences.” Last year, in one of his mostdifficult seasons, Vicente took a life-changing step: “I acceptedChrist into my heart — what a great blessing that was.”That moment anchored him in truth that doesn’t change in themountains and valleys of life: “We have a God who is more powerful, stronger — the One who is with us is greater than the one who isagainst us.”As he continues to face trials, that hope keeps him going. “We mustkeep moving forward through struggles and trials, for we can do allthings through Christ who strengthens us.”Now, Vicente carries hope and purpose: “God created us to sharewith others that we have hope.”The men’s retreat has been a place of healing, faith, and renewedstrength — a light in even the darkest seasons.Thank you to Warsaw Community Church for partnering with usto host this life-changing retreat.A Place of Healing:Vicente’s Story“We’re here with apurpose — Godcreated us to sharewith others thatwe have hope.”Scan to watchVicente’s story
