Anugerah ICT Brunei (BICTA) adalah pertandingan ICT tahunan yang dianjurkan oleh
Kementerian Perhubungan dengan kerjasama Pihak Berkuasa Industri Teknologi
Info-komunikasi Negara Brunei Darussalam (AITI) dan Persekutuan InfoCom Brunei (IFB).

Diperkenalkan pada tahun 2004, BICTA merupakan platform bagi individu, pelajar dan
syarikat-syarikat tempatan untuk bersaing di dalam arena ICT dan mewakili Negara Brunei
Darussalam ke Anugerah Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards.

BICTA adalah komponen APICTA, iaitu persekutuan organisasi ICT bagi rantau Asia Pasifik
yang terdiri daripada 17 ekonomi. APICTA bertujuan untuk membina dan meningkatkan
rangkaian kerjasama di dalam mempromosikan ICT, inovasi, keupayaan dan penggunaan
ICT serta menggalakkan pembangunan penyelesaian ICT untuk pasaran global.

Pemenang-pemenang BICTA akan berpeluang untuk mewakili Negara Brunei Darussalam
ke Anugerah APICTA. Lain-lain ekonomi yang turut serta dalam APICTA ialah Australia,
Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Jepun, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal,
Pakistan, Singapura, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand dan Vietnam.

Objektif BICTA adalah untuk:

merangsang inovasi dan kreativiti dalam industri ICT di kalangan individu,
pelajar dan perusahaan tempatan.
memberi tanda aras untuk pembangunan produk ICT tempatan.
mencari calon peserta tempatan dalam Anugerah APICTA.
mengenal pasti produk ICT tempatan yang paling inovatif di
Negara Brunei Darussalam.

“GENERASI DIGITAL BERWAWASAN”

Tema BICTA 2017 ini mengenengahkan generasi berpandukan visi kecemerlangan
dan keyakinan ke arah merealisasikan Visi Negara 2035 melalui ICT. Generasi yang
berdaya tahan dan sentiasa peka dengan perkembangan teknologi terkini dan
sentiasa gigih berusaha dalam mendapatkan produk dan perkhidmatan yang inovatif
bagi pembangunan sosial dan ekonomi negara.

Anugerah Asia Pasifik ICT Alliance (APICTA) memberi pengiktirafan kepada
produk ICT yang paling inovatif di rantau Asia Pasifik.
Dengan memberikan para pereka-cipta produk ICT dan pengusaha-pengusaha
di rantau ini satu rangkaian dan peluang untuk menanda- aras produk mereka,
program ini direka untuk merangsang inovasi dan kreativiti ICT, menggalakkan
ekonomi dan perdagangan, memudah cara pemindahan teknologi serta
memberikan peluang untuk pemadanan perniagaan atau ‘business matching’
melalui Venture Capitalist dan para pelabur.

menggunakan teknologi terkini seperti Internet of Things, Big Data, Disruptive
Technologies dan Wearable Technologies.

The Teleconsult Infrastructure Management System (TIMS) is a BICTA Award winning product, which has
been enhanced to add additional features, which have been requested by our Clients. As an ICT
Consulting firm, we are very much focused on the ICT Industry and most of our Customers are the ICT
TelCos, Operators and TowerCos around SE Asia. It can however be used for any Customer objects which
can be fixed by a GPS Location, e.g Pipelines, Powerlines, Fire Hydrants etc.

The product is a Graphical Information System (GIS), which is capable of handling the meta data
associated with the assets of our Customers in their passive infrastructure and Geo-tagging to a specific
GPS location and saving paper by storing this data in electonic format and saving valuable Earth resources
The product is capable of linking to other IT systems and we have successsfully integrated other
applications to TIMS e.g Google Earth, Google Street View, 360 etc.

3. D-QMS

D-QMS is an acronym for DES (Departmental of Electrical Services) Queue Management System. It is a
basic queue system that comes with comprehensive reporting, monitoring dashboard and using interactive
Customer Service Solution. The solutions provide enterprise-wide, multichannel surveying tools suitable for
diverse departmental needs in DES. Their use ranges from one-off tactical surveys to ongoing strategic
feedback that provides a better understanding of DES customers, employees, products and processes.

4. First Blood

First blood is a blood donation mobile application and management system for blood banks to manage
blood donation activities and for blood donors to be connected to the blood bank centres. The First Blood
mobile application aims to not only get new donors, but also guides existing donors to become regular

healthy blood stock level.

programme for children. This is a science storybook and activity book that is related to the 99 Names of

parents and kids can try together.Audience: Children aged between 3 to 8 years old.

The proposed product is a mobile app that can trace the real-time location of every single registered user.
The main purpose of this app is to have an online tracking system for a delivery services. There are 2
different users. The admin can monitor all of the location and item details, a user may create a task/job or
to get a job to deliver the package. By having this app, everyone who's install this app can see a real-time
location of the users, the delivery real-time status, and tasks available for delivery.

13. Ventureku

The most difficult part of starting a business is looking for financial capital. In Brunei, there are limited
options, you either use your savings or loan from friends, family or banks. On the other hand, with Brunei
focusing on the development of its Private sector, we feel that Islamic Finance should be part of this
development as well as the islamic financial products in Brunei are limited to only islamic banking. By
combining these two problems, we have created a service as a solution called Ventureku. Ventureku is an
online private investment platform using islamic finance. Similar with the idea of a social media page like
Facebook or linked, the entrepreneurs can display their business plan on their profile but with the addition
of investors being able to invest or finance them. In addition, instead of using the conventional investment
vehicles such as shares, bonds or loan, this platform will use the islamic financial contracts as its
investment vehicles such as Assets purchase (Murabaha), Profit sharing (Mudharaba) and Profit and loss
sharing (Musyaraqah).

18. Track & Roll

Track & Roll, A Cloud-based Human Resources Management System solution, which is categorized as an
S.a.a.S (Software as a Solution). SaaS or Cloud-based solutions are set to be the latest transformation in
technology for traditional software solutions. Track & Roll is a HRM solution that is focused on handling
Attendance taking, leave, claims and Payroll as the four most core modules of the system. To set the
context, a company of more than 50 employees that are using punch card or manual recording system for
attendance taking, would need to spend 3-4 days on average every month to do manual reconciliations
before they can prepare for payroll. With Track & Roll HRM all this can be done in a few clicks within a
few hours.

22. Complaint Management System for Municipal Services of Bandar Seri Begawan

The purpose of the product is to create a prototype website for lodging a complaint
regarding municipal issues in Bandar Seri Begawan.Complaint forms are user friendly without any
complications where guides on what to include are provided to prevent any key information given. Citizens
will be able to receive feedback regarding their complaints in their respective accounts which have to be
created prior to lodging a complaint. For future improvement, a mobile app of the product will be
developed.

23. Web Based Inventory Management System

The purpose of this project is to develop a prototype using web based application for inventory
management system. It helps the company to manage inventory in a systematic way and efficiently. The
target audience mostly from small to a medium company which helps them to track and monitor the
incoming and outgoing of the inventory activities. The features include monitor orders activity,
product management, manage customer, dashboard, interactive report and etc.

24. Mobile Incident Reporting & Web-Based GIS for Disaster Management

A mobile web-based GIS is used to facilitate the reporting of a disaster by the public and organizing their
information on a geographical layout. Users can report an event and submit their location data directly to a
disaster management agency via their smart phones, by using crowd-sourced data. The GIS system can
manipulate these data and generate different geographical layers, to provide decision makers with a
better outlook of the disaster situation.

25. Smart LED Street Light System using Sensor and Wireless Network

SLSLS is an innovative approach towards tackling the high energy usage and unsafe environment caused
by and inefficient administration faced by the current street light system in Brunei. Implementing SLSLS will
benefit the government, road user, community, and public street light management. Incorporating
energy-saving LED lamp with sensors that could automatically switch on and off and dim light based on
real-time data reduced energy consumption. Light failure can be detected using voltage readings,
eliminating human involvement. A designated web interface notify end-user for any abnormality detected,
allow remote control of light, and ease data virtualization. Data transmission between street light
(microcontroller) and server are done wirelessly, offering scalability.

26. Brunei Forest Fire Prevention System (BFFP)

This project develops a prototype acting as a preventive measure that focuses on a disaster management
system. This prototype takes into consideration of the different factors due to nature that contribute to forest
fire. By using requirements from the two main stakeholders of peatland forest fire, the fire fighters and the
peatland expert, the project build up a prototype that meets this requirements to overcome the major issue
of deployment and respond time that have been the two major drawbacks for any monitoring and detection
of fire system.

27. BigDizAssister

This product is a knowledge-based collaborative platform that enables disaster management professionals
to perform their tasks in the disaster risk mitigation and preparedness stages with collaboration from the
various multi-disciplinary various teams of experts. The system aggregates past or real-time big data from
IoT sensors such as in-situ sensors or from remote-sensing satellites and provide the information to the
experts in a very simplified way. These data can be further analyzed using data mining or other predictive
data analytics method for prediction and other task such as to generate new knowledge. This knowledge
is then input into a group decision-making and support system where disaster management authorities and
stakeholders, emergency services and other relevant entities can take possible remedial or corrective
action and preparation for confronting possible disaster such as evacuation from potential disaster areas
in a timely manner.

The product is based on a multimedia project creating animated educational software to educate the public
especially the youngsters on the process of Oil and Gas production.

30. VRIS: Virtual Reality Interactive Science

VRIS is short term for Virtual Reality Interactive Science. It is a mobile app design to educate and raise
health awareness for students. According to our research, out of 20 percent of adults in Brunei Darussalam
are smokers which responsible for nearly a quarter of all cancer deaths. Similarly, 61 percent of Bruneian
are overweight and obese. Both smoking and obese are strongly linked with the increased risk of common
cancers. With our app, we hope to help users increase their awareness through Virtual reality and together
with a novel 3D acquisition device like Leap motion. A device that able to translate user's hand gesture into
actions. This helps user to interact with 3D models within the Virtual Reality environment. Thus, will make
users feel more immersive when using our app as it is natural for them to interact within the virtual
environment as they always do in real life. Also motivate interest of users, features like animation and
narrative contents are also implemented within the app.
