These collective investments work together to support Governor DeSantis’ goal for Florida to be number one in the nation for workforce development by 2030. Governor Ron DeSantis Announces More Than $375,000 in Funding Awarded to Chipola College Through the Job Growth Grant Fund Congratulations to the spring 2023 graduating ADN students at Chipola College. These registered nursing students achieved a 100% pass rate for first-time test takers. According to Dr. Pam Rentz, the VP of Instructional Affairs, several changes in the department contributed to this achievement: “Dr. Mays and her faculty have been diligent in making enhancements to the program that have resulted in these stellar pass rates.” They implemented ATI, the leading U.S. provider of online instruction, remediation, analytics, and consulting solutions for nursing programs. This resource has provided supplemental instruction for each course in the program and allowed students to remediate on deficient content areas. In addition, the opening of the Simulation Center two years ago has provided valuable hands-on experience for students in the program. To assist with retention of students, the faculty implemented a mentoring program, in which each instructor is assigned a group of ADN students to advise. Faculty assist each student with creating a program study plan, removing barriers to success, and assisting with NCLEX preparation. These enhancements to the program have led to unprecedented first-time test taker scores. NCLEX Test Scores
