Chipola College is proud to announce a generous gift of $173,179.57 from the Holmes Creek Soil and Water District to establish a new endowment that will provide lasting support for students from Holmes County, Florida.Presented by Board Chair Jeremy Rolling, the gift will create a permanent funding source to benefit Holmes County residents pursuing higher education at Chipola College for years to come.The endowment is designed to support:• Holmes County residents pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, or Nursing. • Holmes County residents enrolled in any degree-seeking or certificate program at Chipola College. This transformative investment reflects the Holmes Creek Soil and Water District’s commitment to education, workforce development, and the future of the local community. Representatives from the Florida Department of Transportation and Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. attended the event.The event provided attendees with the opportunity to explore internships, career pathways, and high-demand job opportunities while building professional connections. The Chipola College Theatre Department will present A Year with Frog and Toad on May 21, 2026. A hit on Broadway, “A Year with Frog and Toad” was nominated for three Tony Awards – including Best Musical. Based on Arnold Lobel’s well-loved books, this whimsical show follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad – as they hop from page to stage in a story of friendship and adventure through four fun-filled seasons. The Chipola College Brain Bowl team recently competed in the Intercollegiate Championship Tournament in Chicago. Chipola was one of only four community college teams participating in the event, which features competition against four-year universities.During the tournament, the team was formally presented with its National Championship trophy.
