National Player of the Year
Chipola’s Candela Figueroa has been named the 2019
Dudley® NJCAA Division I Softball Player of the Year.
The 5’7 catcher/outfielder is from Entre Rios, Argentina, led
Chipola to a third NJCAA National Championship in May.
She had a .513 batting average, with a .650 on base
percentage, a .975 slugging percentage. Her numbers include: 66
stolen bases, 61 walks, 14 home runs and 154 total bases. She

Chipola Shines at National PBLl Conferene
Students in the Chipola Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda business fraternity
brought home two Top-10 national awards at the PBL National Leadership
Conference, June 24-27, in San Antonio, Texas.
Winners include: Korbin Haller, Sports Management and Marketing,
Seventh; Kylee Rhodes, Website Design, Tenth. Kami Presley also
competed in the Client Service performance event and placed in the Top-15.
More than 1,500 of America’s best and brightest college students traveled
to San Antonio, Texas, to compete for an honored spot on stage among the
Top-10 and a share of more than $95,000 in cash awards.
Participants from across the United States attended this exciting
conference to enhance their business skills, expand their networks, and
compete in 60 accounting, business, leadership and technology events.
Students showcased their skills and knowledge in competitive events that
involved objective tests, skills tests, prepared reports, interviews, speeches,

Chipola All-American Softball Picks Coaches
The hits just keep coming for the Chipola College Softball Team.
After winning the college’s third national softball title in May, five Lady Indians have of the

Chipola clinched the Panhandle Conference championship very early in the season and Coming off a 2019 national championship,

clincher.
At the national championship, Chipola went
undefeated over a five-game stretch, which included
a 19-2 win in the title game against Angelina
College. During that run, the Indians scored 69 runs,
including 52 over the final three contests.
SOFTBALL COACHES RECOGNIZED—The Chipola softball coaching staff was In 15 years at the helm of Chipola, they have
recognized by the college board of trustees at the June meeting. The Chipola staff guided the program to three NJCAA national titles,
has been named the 2019 NFCA NJCAA DI National Coaching Staff of the Year. The eight Panhandle Conference and seven FCCAA
coaching staff includes Head Coach Belinda Hendrix, Associate Head Coach Jimmy State championships, while compiling a 699-179-1
