Handbook Program Diploma in Rail Signalling & Communication

Technology (DSC) dapat diterbitkan untuk rujukan semua pihak.
Tahniah diucapkan kepada semua pihak yang telah berusaha
ke arah penerbitan buku ini. Student Handbook ini adalah penting
agar menjadi rujukan utama pelajar dalam mendapatkan
maklumat berkenaan Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran (PdP)
dan seterusnya membantu pelajar dalam merancang
pengajian ‘pelajar’di Kolej Komuniti Masjid Tanah (KKMT).

MAKLUMAT KKMT

Kolej komuniti Masjid Tanah (KKMT) yang dahulunya dikenali sebagai Kolej
Komuniti Alor Gajah (KKAG). KKAG ditubuhkan pada 1 Mac 2003 dan mula
beroperasi di kampus sementara di Sekolah Menengah Teknik Datuk Seri Mohd
Zin, Alor Gajah, Melaka. Pada 7 Jun 2005, operasi KKAG telah berpindah ke
kampus yang baru yang terletak di parlimen Masjid Tanah. Bermula pada Jun
2008 Kolej Komuniti Alor Gajah (KKAG) dikenali sebagai rasmi sebagai Kolej
Komuniti Masjid Tanah (KKMT) pada Jun 2008.

SINOPSIS PROGRAM/ SYNOPSIS

Diploma in Rail Signalling and Communication Technology programme is
designed to produce graduates that have knowledge and skills in the field of
electrical technology discipline, with specialization in signalling and
communication technologies in the rail transportation system which includes,
electrical and electronic fundamentals, operation & management system, power
and electrification, fire alarm and surveillance system, communication
technology, automation and control system, transmission and safety
management while emphasizing the area of specialization.
The specialization courses include safety and standard operation in railway,
project management, design and development procedure, regulations and ethics in
railway industry and quality management design and operation.

PROSPEK KERJA/ JOB PROSPECT

This programme provides the knowledge and skills in rail signalling and communication
technology that can be applied to a broad range of careers in broadcasting industry. The
knowledge and skills that students acquire from the programme enable them to find
positions in the job market as:

disciplines; but must adhere to prerequisite requirements in the Programme

3. MPU22042 Bahasa Kebangsaan A is COMPULSORY for students who did not
attain credit in Bahasa Melayu at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level and will
contribute to students’ CGPA. It should be taken in semester and students
should pass this course before they are graduate. This course is classified as
general component course and the calculation of credit hours are included in
the general components.

SYNOPSIS

Mathematics is designed to introduce the students with fundamental mathematical
concepts. It introduces students to the concept of significant figures and standard
form. This course also covers the concept of quadratic equations and method to
solve quadratic equations by using factorization, quadratic formula and
completing the square. Students will be introduced to the fundamental of
trigonometric functions and the method to solve trigonometric equations by
using basic identities, addition formulae and double angle formulae. This course
also constitutes the concept of differentiation and the method to solve first and
second derivative by using chain rule, product rule and quotient rule.

ESSENTIAL ENGLISH emphasizes the necessary knowledge, skills, and
understanding needed to use so that the learners can participate in social
interaction on current issues or topics of interest in everyday life, especially in the
workplace. This course teaches learners how to effectively use verbal and
nonverbal communication skills to present on any topic of interest or a product or
service. They can also gain necessary communication skills, such as the ability to

develop the required skillsets to ace in the job-hunting world. In addition, it

SYNOPSIS

Power and Electrification is a course that provides students with the knowledge,
skills, and exposer to power electrification technology including power traction in
the railway system. In this course, the students also learn theory and practical on
the power generating and transmission process, rectification and protection
system components functions as well as the ability to identify, describe
electrification process from generating, disseminating, and adapting new
technology applications on energy solutions.
