IINNTTRROODDUUCCTTIIOONN English Week, organised by the English Language Department, offers many engaging language-based activities for trainee teachers. It is hoped that at the end of the programme, trainee teachers will see the importance of English Language and increase trainee teachers’ interest in English Language as well as their language proficiency. 1 AIM This programme aims to encourage the use of English Language in the community and enhance their language skills.

To increase trainee teachers’ passion for learning English Language outside formal classes. To promote the use of English Language at campus level. EENNGGLLIISSHHWWEEEEKK DDIIGGIITTAALL PPOOSSTTEERR CCOOMMPPEETTIITTIIOONN 8 The competition is compulsory for PPISMP 2022 and open to all trainee teachers in IPGK Kent. Each group should comprise 3 to 4 members only. Submission date of the poster is on 6th of March. Participants are to design a poster related to the 'English Language Communication' theme. Each group has to submit the poster in PDF format, landscape and portrait versions. The poster should not exceed 500-600 words. Each group should submit one entry only. Poster submitted must be the original work of the participants. Any participant violating the rules and regulations will be disqualified from the competition. The competition is compulsory for PPISMP 2022 and open to all trainee teachers in IPGK Kent. Participants are required to fulfil the registration form before the due date via Google Form. Stories presented can be authentic, adapted or originally written and should avoid sensitive issues. Contestants are only allowed to use the microphone stand provided to ensure minimal movement. Product presented can be in the form of 2D and 3D. Participants are to explain about the product in 3 to 5 minutes. Question and answer session from the judges will be in 3 minutes. Each team should comprise 10 to 20 students. A conductor should be appointed amongst these students. Teams are free to choose the theme for their Choral Speaking performance. Each player has to spell a valid English word on the scrabble board using the letter tiles given. Marks are given based on the scoring criteria of the game. Only words in the Scrabble Dictionary (British English) are allowed and counted. Each player is given 15 seconds to come up with a (minimum) correctly spelt 2-letter word in English language.
