Elements of queuing system
Basic Terms
FCFS model :Poisson arrival, exponential service,
single channel, first come-first served maximum
allowable customers being infinity in the system and
infinite population model.

When queue is formed?

A queue or waiting line will be formed in two situations,
namely
(a) When there are too many service facilities.
(b) When there are too less services facilities.
When too many service facilities are available, the
customers/jobs entering the system will be provided
service immediately. Many a times, a service facility may
be found idle. Hence the service facility waits for the
arrival of customers. When the number of service
facilities are too less, the customers/jobs entering the
system has to wait in queue.
