Introduction

Buriram has been famous for Thai silk weaving for a long
time including Madmee Thai silk and plain Thai silk. The weaving
techniques and patterns of fabrics in each regions represent
different identities and cultures. The inherited traditional techniques
and patterns are preserved and developed to be applied
techniques and patterns by imagination and expertise in Thai silk
weaving. Buriram Thai silk has been well-known and
acknowledged for all time. As its slogan “The city of sandstone
sanctuaries, the land of volcanoes, beautiful silk, rich culture and
excellent sports”

Nowadays, the market and sale competition is very high
across all industries including Thai silk and products industry.
Related makers and business owners have to adjust their
promotion to present and sell products to customers easily. It also
helps customers shop with confidence and leads to purchase
quickly.

This data and E-catalog product presentation aim to raise
awareness of Thai silk makers and business owner in Buriram. It

Nathaphon Thai Silk is the weaver who has 35-year experience of Thai silk
weaving and be the second generation of the traditional weaver of Na Pho,
Buriram. The main product is Thai silk dyed by natural ingredients including
Burma pradauk (pink), sappan wood (red), butterfly pea (purple) and more,
creating beautiful and colorful fabrics.

Na Pho Handicraft Center

“Madmee Thai silk” is a unique fabric. People who have passion for this silk
have founded “Na Pho Handicraft Center” in Buriram and apply “Tie-dying”
technique in the fabric. The colors they use are inspired by flowers and leaves
tying to create patterns “imprinted on Madmee Thai silk fabric”, which called
Tie-dyeing Madmee Thai silk. This makes the product more valuable while
keeping Madmee pattern the same. The pattern of each piece is unique that
makes it to be “a masterpiece” and proves that Thai craftsmanship is one of

Mali Textile

Mali Textile located in Nong Ta Kai village, Nong Kong sub district,

cultivation and silkworm rearing. They has been weaved Thai silk fabric for

Samruay Volcanic Soil Dyeing Cloth

People in Charoen Suk community have lived their lives in the foothills
of Angkhan Mountain where the volcanic erupted around 700,000 years
ago. The soil in the area is a fertile lava soil which is suitable for cultivation
and rich in natural resources.

One day when a dry season changed to rainy season. The villager went
foraging in the mountain as usual. When they noticed a hard stain in their
sarongs. It was reddish orange soil. They thought they could use it for
dyeing cloth. Therefore, the soil has been used for dyeing cloth and the
volcanic dyeing cloth was invented since then. The volcanic dyeing cloth
has natural dyes from volcanic soil which became its unique property from
community’s local wisdom and way of life. Nowadays, this cloth has been
process to the variety of products.
