chemistry or physics then this is the course for you. From human biology to organic
chemistry to astronomy, you’ll cover a range of subjects and study units including:

The Level 3 BTEC Applied Science course is designed to give you a broad
understanding of the many aspects of science. The BTEC is a practical, applied
subject which is assessed through both coursework and examination. It is a full-time
course and carries points for university in a range of subjects.

Criminology aims to develop your understanding of the reasons why people commit
crimes and the process of criminal investigations. Throughout the course you’ll be
expected to apply what you learn to real life situations and criminal cases. You’ll study
units such as:
• Crime and punishment
• Crime scene to courtroom
• Perception of crime
• Changing awareness of crime
During the length of the course you may have the opportunity to hear from a range of
guest speakers including barristers and crime scene investigators (CSI) from the police
force. You will study the certificate in year one and the diploma in year two. You’ll also
have the chance to visit courtrooms, giving you an insight into the world of criminology.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are ideally suited to those who are currently
