Theactivity aimed to strengthen participants’ foundational knowledge in research and development whileenhancing their competencies in research writing.Renowned experts from the University of the Philippinesserved as resource speakers. On the first day, Dr. MarieAubrey J. Villaceran, Director of the UP Center for Women'sStudies, and Ms. Senedith A. Aurora “Boots” Geotina-Garcia representing Non-Government Organizations, Carolyn Sobritchea from theAcademe Sector, and Gilda Patricia Maquilan from the Business Sector. The program commenced with awelcome message from Ms. Mylene H. Somera,Administrator of the TESDA Women’s Center, whoemphasized the value of stories that illuminateresilience, dedication, and the pursuit ofexcellence in public service.The screening was formally introduced by Mr.Nathaniel Dennis Topue, Film Curator from GoLDVisuals PH, who provided context on the film’sthemes and its relevance to the educationallandscape. TWC Management alsoshared its plans for the next 90 days, ensuring continuity inachieving strategic goals and operational improvements.The event included an awarding ceremony, honoringoutstanding personnel contributions. Implemented through the TWC iSTAR Program as part of the Center’s businessincubation initiative, the program empowers women with essential entrepreneurial skills and resources.The trainees will have access to baking tools and equipment donated by Aboitiz Foundation Inc, which theCenter will lend to support their start-up ventures. Through comprehensive coaching, mentoring, performancemonitoring, and marketing assistance, the TWC continues to nurture women’s growth and success inentrepreneurship.


Page 20 October to December 2025TWC Trainees Celebrate Creativity, Culture, and Camaraderie onCultural Activity DayThe TESDA Women’s Center successfully held the TWC Trainees’ Cultural Activity and Socializing Day onDecember 17, 2025, led by the Training Management Unit and attended by TWC trainees from differentqualifications.The event featured energetic dance and singing competitions, fun and interactive games, and a creativeshowcase highlighting trainees’ creativity through outfits made from recycled materials—promotinginnovation, sustainability, and teamwork.The activity strengthened unity and boosted morale among the trainees, reaffirming the TESDA Women’sCenter’s commitment to nurturing confident, creative, and well-rounded individuals.


Official Publication of TESDA Women’s Center Page 21ODDG Partnership and Linkages Cluster Concludes 2025 withPerformance AssessmentThe ODDG Partnership and Linkages Cluster Year-End Performance Assessment Program was successfullyconducted on December 17, 2025, at the Tandang Sora Hall, TESDA Women’s Center, bringing togetherofficials and personnel from the different offices under the cluster.The activity highlighted the presentation of accomplishments for the year, the challenges encountered andovercome, and the key initiatives identified for implementation in the coming year, reflecting the collectiveefforts and contributions of each office in advancing partnerships and linkages.The program was made more lively by interactive games and teambuilding activities, which promoted camaraderie, strengthenedteamwork, and fostered a positive and engaging environmentamong personnel.In her message, Deputy Director General Nelly Nita Dilleraunderscored the importance of collaboration, accountability, andcontinuous improvement in sustaining effective and impactfulpartnerships that support TESDA’s mandate.


TESDA successfully concluded the “Voices of Strength: Visual and Literary Arts Competition” at the TESDACentral Office.Spearheaded by the TESDA Women’s Center, as the TESDA GAD Secretariat, the event formed part of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Their Children.The winners were officially announced on December 15, 2025, during the flag-raising ceremony.In Literary Arts, Patricia Desiree Ann Maomay from the Human Resource Management Division claimed theChampion title, followed by John Mari Subido from TESDA Women’s Center as Second Placer, and Lovely MaeAringo from Barista NC II (TWC) taking Third Place.In Visual Arts, the top spot went to Kyle Dominique Diagbel from the Human Resource Management Division.Rochelle Margarette Solito from Dressmaking NC II (TWC) earned Second Place, while Leilani Talagtag, alsofrom Dressmaking NC II (TWC), secured Third Place.TWC extends its sincere appreciation for the invaluable support of various industry partners—HochengPhilippines Corporation, Samsung Electronics Philippines Corp., Coca-Cola Philippines, Pilmico Flour, GinebraSan Miguel, Inc., HERDD, UP-ISSI, and Achievers Baking and Bakery Equipment.Page 22 October to December 2025TESDA Culminates End VAWC Campaign with ‘Voices of Strength’Awarding of Winners for the Visual and Literary Arts CompetitionWinners for Literary Arts CompetitionWinners for Visual Arts Competition

However, her passion lay inrestaurant management, which led her topursue the Food and Beverage Services NCII program in 2016.Upon completing her studies, Chery Ann'sstrategic thinking and adaptability propelledher through a rapid career progression. Shestarted as a receptionist, quickly moving upto become a receptionist trainer, food server,food server trainer, bartender, and bartendertrainer.Chery Ann's exceptional performanceearned her the role of Front of the HouseHead, followed by Assistant RestaurantManager and New Restaurant OpenerManager. Her hard work and dedicationculminated in her current position asRestaurant Manager and New RestaurantOpener Manager at the Texas Road House ,which she has held since 2022.Chery Ann's success has been marked bynumerous accolades, including Employee ofthe Year, Best Trainer of the Year, and BestNew Restaurant Opener. She attributes herachievements to the valuable skills shegained from the Food and BeverageServices NC II program, such as customerservice, table setting, balancing, and conflictresolution.Chery Ann's advice to aspiringprofessionals is to never give up and toprioritize their family, as they are theultimate supporters. She initially considered workingoverseas, but age-related requirements posed achallenge. Still, she did not let this setback deterher spirit.“What I’ve learned in life is to never giveup. Even though I didn’t finish my formaleducation, I was still able to land adecent and respectable job—and TWCplayed a big part in making that happen,”she shares proudly.Jelyn’s story is more than just personalachievement.
