The Taiwan International Science Fair (TISF) was organized by the National Taiwan Science Education Center
(NTSEC). TISF is a science research competition for high school students from grades nine through twelve.
With the mission of identifying and nurturing talented young scientists, TISF brings together around 250

domestic finalists and 40 overseas students from 20 nations to compete for awards.

The International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) was founded in 1904 by the Japan Institute of

Invention and Innovation (JIII). The aim of IEYI is to encourage creativity and invention from teenagers.

Young inventors from across the world, including both developing and developed countries, meet up in
the exhibition and observe each others inventions in science and technology, from moderate to advanced,
to compete, transfer knowledge, and build up cooperation among countries.

The Korea International Youth Olympiad (KIYO) was held by the World Women Inventors & Entrepreneurs

The Young Inventors Challenge is a competition for secondary school students and is open to teams

of 4 – 5 young people. The theme for 2017 was “INVENTIONS TO SERVE”. By participating in YIC, the

solve problems, use resources such as the internet, library and experts to hone their research skills, and

GNHD, sponsored by the Behring Global Educational Foundation, is a well-rounded program for elementary,
junior, and high school students. Each year, participants select topics which are related to the theme of that year
to conduct their own research projects. Participants can take initiative to find primary sources, talking to
scientists, curators, librarians, and other sources they can think of. During every level of GNHD, they will have
opportunities to present (or perform) in front of judges who are well-respected professionals and experts from
different backgrounds.

The Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF), one of the world’s largest international invention fairs, was organized
by the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) under the patronage of the World Intellectual Property Organization
(WIPO) and the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA).
A total of 630 inventions were showcased from 30 participating countries with approximately 176 inventions from 120
local South Korean companies were exhibited. The participants of SIIF were given the opportunity to enter into the open
market, technology transfer, or access crowd funding or business meetings for purchase or investment. As an event that

Princess Chulabhorn Science High Schools of Thailand




Twelve Princess Chulabhorn Colleges were established in honor of Her Royal
th
Highness Princess Chulabhorn’s dedication in science, and to commemorate her 36
birthday in 1993. They are in 12 regions around the country.


Professor Dr.Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol is the youngest
daughter of their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand.
She has been a lecturer in Chemistry at Mahidol University since 1985. She is also
a member of the President’s Council of the University of Tokyo.


In 2010, all twelve Princess Chulabhorn Collage were developed into science
school, called “Princess Chulabhorn Science High Schools” with the help of Mahidol
Wittayanusorn School, the pioneer science school of Thailand.


The aim is to develop a special curriculum, innovative teaching and learning for
nurturing gifted student to be excellent in mathematics and science, and to be future
scientific leaders with critical and creative thinking, good ethics and being good

member of society with global outlook for improving Thailand’s competitiveness in

the 21 century.

The schools have both junior high school programs (Grade 10 to 12). They are

co-educational boarding schools. Students receive full scholarships from the
government. Each school has a full capacity of 720 students with 24 students per
class.

Each school takes students only from the neighboring provinces as indicated in colors.
