INTRODUCTION

ANM is now able to provide early booking services for materials through OFA. Researchers are given the
facility to make reservations as early as 3 days before coming to do research. This can speed up the research

process and indirectly reduce the waiting period of the material. For researchers who do not have the
opportunity to visit ANM, they also have services that not only provide access and metadata information but
also digital images that can be viewed, ordered and then purchased. So in this thematic finding aids project,
we choose to do some findings about Datuk Aziz Sattar as our Malaysian veteran artist by using OFA. We
have included five sections to highlight Datuk Aziz Sattar's early life and family, early education, early career,

retirement, as well as his awards and recognitions.

Chapter 1 EARLY life

● Born on August 8, 1925, the owner of the real name Abdul Aziz
Bin Sattar was born in Perkalongan Village, Bawaen Islands,
Surabaya. Datuk Aziz Sattar’s also known as Pak Aziz.

● His life history in Malaya began when he was three years old
when he followed his father and mother to Singapore in 1928.

● Among his close friends when he was a child were Artist Shariff
Dol and Artist Salleh Kamil.

● In 1950 he joined a band called “Pancaragam Suara Hiburan
Keroncong” and in his early 20s, he used to work as a lorry driver
with a salary of RM150 at the time.

● He simply worked as a voice actor at Malay Film Productions
Studio but he was surprised because his salary was only RM70 a
month.

FAMILY

● Datuk Aziz Sattar has been married for five times.
● Only two of his marriages are more talked about which is

with Siti Rumiah Ahmad who is the third wife but they
divorced and Seniwati Dayang Sofia who is his fourth wife
but their marriage also failed.

● He has been blessed with seven children, 19 grandchildren

and also five great -grandchildren.

● The names of his children are Ruzaiman, Ruzaidah,

Ruzainah, Zainuddin, Dahlia, Dalina and Sandakiah.

● On 16 December 2006, Datuk Aziz Sattar was married for

the last time with Hashimah Delan at the Sultan Abdul Aziz
Mosque, Shah Alam with a dowry of RM100.

Chapter 2 EARLY EDUCATION

Chapter 4 RETIREMENT

comedian, playwright, and singer. Known for his exceptional achievements in industrial films,
