148 STUDENT ACTIVITY: GROUP 2 Again with my group (Group 2), I applied my approach “Sustainable Social Learning (SSL)” as a main teaching method for Architectural Design Studio 3 ARC 3013, Sem 1, 2023-2024, GROUP 2. The most common teaching styles of SSL included: • Formal Learning: Classroom lectures in the lecture space of Studio Year 2. • Formal Social Learning: Formal discussion sessions in the resource space (Seminar Room, FRSB). • Formal Social Learning -Presentation Practices: Criticism sessions with the tutor (me) in the project space. • Formal Social Learning -Presentation Days: Criticism sessions with experts in the presentation/project space. • Social Learning: Group discussion in FRSB breakout space. • Informal Social Learning: Site visit, academic-recreational trip, and lunch festival. Updated 01.04.2024 155 TEACHING PORTFOLIO BY SARAH ABDULKAREEM SALIH PAASWE 2023 Along with the main courses I teach, in 2023, I had the chance to coordinate a social summer program for 10 of our Bachelor of Architecture students to participate in the PAM Annual Architecture Student Works Exhibition 2023 (PAASWE 2023) conducted on October 4–8, 2023 at GF Centre Court, 1Utama Shopping Centre, Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The exhibition theme was “Dancing Tower.” The program was extended to full two weeks. After weeks of hard work and contribution by each member of the team, the team successfully achieved the: “Bronze Medal” for the “Dynamic Dance of Headgear Design” & “Gold Honourable 4th Place” for the outstanding “PAM Best Booth Display Award 2023.” Within a very short period, hard work and efforts made by my students along the way have paid off, and the recognition they’ve garnered is a testament to their exceptional talents and the indomitable spirit that drives them towards success. The awards and recognition received at PAASWE 2023 underscore our department’s (Department of Architecture, FRSB, UPM) commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and excellence in architectural education.
