Research portofolio

Research Portfolio

Research Portfolio • Presenting the six main types of research. • Primary • Secondary • Quantitative • Qualitative • Audience and Market research • Production research

Primary Research • I have conducted primary research to gather opinions based on mine and my peers previous work. This was done by a survey. We got given feedback explaining multiple ways about how effective the advert was also rating the advert and explaining the positives and the negatives. • Some suggestions made from the survey analysis is that the target audience was not reached effectively. Some other assumptions are that the advert was entertaining and uplifting. We had also received recommendations on how the advert could of reached the audience more clearly and how the aim of target audience could of been more clearer. • Some statistics would be that the advert was reached to a variety of genders and ages. Some other statistics would be the rating which is 3.36 out of 5 which is suggesting mixed responses.

Secondary Research https://prezi.com/view/NoV5wWwrsarvGeDN6NqM/ The link above shows my presentation or Pitch for Magnum sports ice-cream. I have conducted research to give me an idea of how previous products might have worked and I was also told the rules and regulations the ASA , the Bcap code and Ofcom. This allows me to see if my advert would offensive or discriminatory. I also did research on Unilever to see how my product could have been based on Unilever principles of making their products recyclable and eco-friendly. The narrative of the advert is mentioned. A brief explanation is that a group of friends finish a game of football feeling tired. They try some Magnum energizer and it is like they have never played football. They are fully energetic and booted prepared for the rest of their day. https://williamhoward089.blogspot.com/2022/06/guinness-essay.html The Analysis about the Guinness advert explains the different advertising techniques and camera levels and angles used when making the advert. I also explain how lighting and editing can make the audience more persuaded to invest . By doing the analysis it gives my inspiration

Quantitative Research • I have made a survey before to gather information on whether my film would appeal to my peers. The questions I have chosen tells us about their Interests in Film such as genre choices. I have also asked for their preferences such as Ideal film length , whether they prefer the narrative or the visuals. This would tell me how my film would be enjoyed the most. • This would be beneficial research because I know how my film should be structured and when it would be watched. Knowing the attention to detail when consideration the production process to my film

Qualitative Research • Here I have done a survey to see how the advert received by the audience. Some questions are related to the product. This tells me how informed the audience was about the product and whether they knew who the product was aimed towards. • Other questions were based on the entertainment value and the editing and sound. This tells us whether the advert (video) works structurally rather than messages portrayed. • Other questions were based on age, Gender and occupation. This gives me an idea on target audience and Demographics

Audience Market & Research https://prezi.com/view/NoV5wWwrsarvGeDN6NqM/ This presentation tells us my idea relating to a unilever product and what unileveris. My product is an ice-cream energizer. An advert synopsis is also mentioned in brief detail. It explains the narrative and how it will be aimed to the target audience . It also gives you information based on what Unilever is and what the original magnum product. Adverts relating to the product Is metioned with a video attached . This explains what would typically appear in the advert. Legislation information is also mentioned and how it would be applied. ASA, OFCOM and the BCAP code is also mentioned how these were considered when making my synopsis. Making sure that all rules were considered was also a main priority when making the presentation.
