SCRIPT PROPOSALS A story about Redemption and Family history but it also introduces Possible Family feud in the future. A Ring that has been in the Family for centuries has gone missing but know one knows how. An assumption is made that it was him being irresponsible. However On his search he discovers that someone might be opposed to his family. This creates suspicion to his family as he tells them he saw someone during the confrontation which creates the scene that every enigma is released into the narrative. a
Redemption of the Prince Logline A prince goes on a mission to get a ring that has been in the family for centuries after it has been lost. What is the purpose of the script? The purpose of this script is to provide a sense of entertainment and a sense of achievement for the main character and the audience. This makes the audience feel accomplished in some sort of way. Another purpose of the script Is showing the skills that I have learnt throughout the course this allows me to be imaginative and creative. The penultimate reason is to explore some genres more and their iconography. This lets me be more creative in detail in the adventure genre that I have chosen. What do I hope to achieve? I Hope that my film can achieve a sense of entertainment and that it can give a meaning to the audience . This can give a emotional achievement for me and the audience and hoping that they have enjoyed the film. I also Hope to achieve the good use of the genre and the iconography and that the audience is aware of what the genre is and the themes presented.
Narrative Overview • Genre – Adventure • MY chosen genre is adventure. This is because this links to the theme of redemption and the narrative structure can be organized more easily this way. I have also chosen the adventure genre because • Features of the adventure genre are action and danger so like disruption in the Narrative or an enquiry between one or two people. • Unusual or exotic locations . These can range from Forest , Deserts and Water sometimes. These can often be used Midway through the narrative when trying to find a solution to the Disruption. This can sometimes be where the Narrative starts as Bases or Headquarters could be set there. • The Genre could also be used to set Emotion in the narrative and to the audience. Suspense could be used in a chase scene or where the main character discovers a big change in the plot interms of an item.
Narrative Overview Themes or styles Themes presented in my Film are redemption. This ensures that emotion is portrayed in the narrative and through the character. Another theme is achievement this relates also relates to the Narrative and the Backstory of the Ring, This explained in the synopsis where the most powerful and dominant character earns the ring through the fight. This links to the Intense atmosphere that will be presented in the narrative. The style of my film will be show How missions, adventures and History will be presented in my film. This will make my film more enjoyable for the audience and the Story will be presented in a clearer way. The History of the ring and the family will show the importance of the ring and why it should be found and not lost forever . The scenery and cinematography will enhance the scenery and the narrative for example Members of the family fighting at night will show determination .
TARGETING THE AUDIENCE 1) My primary target audience will be teens and young adults this is because more serious themes will be presented in the Narrative. The film will be mainly targeted towards males as Genre interest are usually best received by Males. However, Females are usually casted quite popularly and enjoy the Genre , However young adults will be my main target audience. Any social class will enjoy the film and Sexuality and race won't be Negatively represented or really represented at all. So, they can enjoy the film freely. 2) The secondary target audience will be middle aged , Elderly. This is because the themes presented can be taken more seriously and the themes can be more relatable to them. They are also the secondary target audience because of nostalgic reason.
CHARACTER PROFILES Character – The Hero Name : Logan Age: 16 Dramatic Motivation : On a redemption Mission to recover centuries worth of history which is currently lost . Major consequences tell us that his role in the family is at risk . This makes the narrative more intense because this tells us that traditions could be broken or ruined Role in Narrative : Protagonist – Main character who has been sent on a mission to redeem a much larger character profile the family history . Oldest In the Family line but He has two younger siblings. This means that if he did mess up his position in the Family line would be at risk. He is also portraying the role of redemption in a sense of Being mentally strong when he has been put in position of Risk for getting the role of being the possessing the Ring. How the ring represents the character: With the position of the ring being lost from its current owner its means that its qualities are dying . This means that anyone could claim the power of authority but also Foreshadowing the Rise of Logan and the power he will receive this is learnt in the script.
CHARACTER PROFILES Character – The King Name : King ….. Age: 40s or 50s Dramatic Motivation : Removing Logan royal role if the family possession isn’t returned. He has the most power in the narrative although he is only seen at the Beginning and the end of the story, he overall purpose is still importance. His appearance and Posture will still tell us how powerful he is. Role in Narrative : He is the authorative figure in the narrative and he portrays the most power. He has the power to Remove Royal title. This could make him unliked and portrayed as powerful. He is incharge of the Laws and Managing the Next tournament. He plans this before he dies or before early retirement. How the ring represents the character: The king owns the ring this means that the king is the strongest human in the kingdom. The ring provides a powerful reputation for the king. The Ring is like a trophy for the king. As the Ring is lost the king now looks weak and not as authorative
CHARACTER PROFILES Character – Unknown overthrower Name : Unknown ( This is on purpose because his identity is hidden from the king) Age: 40 - 50s Dramatic Motivation : Overthrow the King to claim the ring, This could be placing the royal family at Risk and they could be replaced this is why the ring is so important in the narrative it can be more important in the family line. Role in Narrative : Villian can be portrayed as an antagonist, His intentions are more discovered in the script but the risk of how powerful he could be with the ring brings tension to the Narrative and the confrontation scene. He is the representation of jealously and wating power . How the ring represents the character: How the theme of greed can be explored within the film. This also shows how the ring has more influence than the family. This shows the Family blood has less importance and that whoever claims the ring can earn the royal role. This can also show us that wealth is that important in the narrative but the ring will provide better privileges.
THE HOOK Usp - Why is your Idea Unique/ trends Some appealing aspects of my film is the risk that is portrayed in the narrative and the background information that is portrayed, A voice over would be useful to make a more powerful impact. Although the adventure genre has been really popular at the moment with setting being Popular . However, the narrative should be more powerful than the scenery but I want to explore the genre in different ways to see how My narrative can be explored. I know Rings have been used in Adventure films before such as J.R.R Tolkien's Lord of the rings and his other side stories so I will have to be more creative in this instance. I have decided to make the ring more influencial in a positive way to provide a sense of security in the narrative for the characters in my story.
