Multiple-tier Timelines

Multiple-tier timelines use two or more rows of events.
While each row represents a different subject, the time
period is the same.
Multiple-tier timelines can be used to help us look at
cause and effect relationships or patterns and themes
among events in a specific period of time.
We will be using a multi-tier timeline to show the rise
and fall of four early civilizations in the Americas: The
Mississippian, Inca, Maya, and Aztec and look for
RELATIONSHIPS between the dates.

You will insert a picture in this space of
you holding your completed timeline at

the end of this project!

The
Mississippians

Credit

The mississippians were a civilavation. The way
the mississippians got food was the men went out
and hunted deer, coyote, chickens, and more. The

The mayan government Preist, Nobles, Merchants, and
Craftsman. The priest were the most powerful and every one
believed they talked to the gods. Nobles did not have to pay taxes
and could choose if they wanted to have a job or not, and lived easy
lives. Some Merchants and craftsman wanted to live better life.
Slaves would have to work almost all day and 1 break in between
their work time. Farmers were poor with low social status who owns
or rents a small piece of land for cultivation. This shows that the
mayans had lots of different things in their culture like, the Priest,
Nobles Merchants, and Craftsman.

The mayan writing is pretty is pretty hard for us humans to read. The
way that mayans write is not in normal writing that we usually write
today they have all kinds of symbols, like head symbols, animal
symbols, and human hand symbols.

MAyan math is pretty easy to do so i’ll but up an example they have
dots for the ones places except for 5. So here it is!... and it keeps on
going just like that 5 one line 10 two lines. That is how the mayans
do math or codes to unlock a secret passageway.

1. Viceroy - Below the Sapa Inca was the viceroy, or
Inkap Rantin. He was a close relative of the Sapa
Inca and worked as his closest advisor.

2. High Priest - The high priest, called the "Willaq
Umu", was also a very powerful man. He was
probably second in power to the Sapa Inca due to
the importance of religion in the Inca Empire.

3. In order to run the government , the inca needed
food and resources which they acquired through
taxes. Each ayllu was responsible for paying taxes
to the government. The Inca had tax inspectors that
watched over the people to make sure that they paid
all their taxes.

4. The laws were made by the Sapa Inca and passed
down to the people through the tax collectors.
Murder, stealing, cheating on taxes, and cursing the
gods was all against the law.

5. The Inca government was called the Tawantinsuyu.
It was a monarchy ruled by a single leader called the
Sapa Inca.

6. Council of the realm - the sapa inca also kept a
council of men who were advised him on major matters.
These men were powerful nobles.
