நடனப் பள்ளி ஆைிரியர் உசர / PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Aum Namashivaya!
It gives me great pleasure to be penning this message after a long time. The effort of Covid-19 and a
lockdown has had severe effects on the performing arts industry. However, we have put all these
obstacles behind us and brave the waters to put together this Salangai Poojai amidst the uncertain
times of today . The divine dance of Nataraja must go on and I would like to congratulate this batch
of students who have made it to their Salangai Poojai this year .
For more than 56 years , I have trained thousands of dancers and produced them on stage for this
primary graduation ceremony . It is not an easy task and requires a lot of patience , dedication,
effort and most importantly the undying love and passion for teaching . This group, like the others
have made me proud and I hope to see all of them progress further in this divine art of
Barathanatyam after their Salangai Poojai .
I am also very glad and proud to conduct the Salangai Poojai for the first time for a 70 year old
dancer and also a mother with 3 kids.
I thank the parents of these students who have tirelessly worked together to arrange this Salangai
Poojai. They are very cooperative with the school and have gone the extra mile to ensure
everything goes smoothly. May the Cosmic Lord of Dance , Shri Nadarajah shower his blessings on
all of you .
Service to Art,
Nattuva Thilagam Shrimathi Indira Manikam
Principal

I would like to congratulate the students o our great “Nattuva Thilagam”
Mrs. Indira Manikam \on the completion of their primary graduation in Barathanatyam or
known as Salangao Poojai. Barathanatyam is a classical dance form originated from Baratha Naadu ,
that has links with the divine . Shiva the cosmic creator presents as the majestic Nadarajah or
Lord of Dance , performing the “Thandavam”.
Learning this art form develops a child physically , spiritually and aesthetically .
Barathanatyam is part of our aesthetics culture and forms our traditional identity . At this junture ,
I would like to express my best wishes to the Tanjai Kamalaa Indira Dance School and its
principal for having relentlessly and continuously propagated this art form in Malaysia for more than
half a century .
Last but not least, I congratulate the parents of these children who have put in so much
effort to prepare for this grand event. I wish them a great success in this ,and all their future endeavours.
Vanakam .
Thank You
