About Us

Midtherm Laser has one of the largest available resource of flat-bed laser cutting in the UK and we
pride ourselves on offering an efficient and professional service. We have Bystronic CNC machines
ranging from 3KW to 6KW with bed sizes of up to 4m x 2m which can cut a wide variety of sheet
material.
We are the only known sub-contract laser provider that has a machine dedicated solely to non-ferrous
material, which has been the case since its installation in 2013. As we supply several industries
including the food and chemical industries, we offer the assurances of no cross-contamination with
ferrous materials.
We have recently been accredited with BS EN 1090-1 (Execution Class 4) CE Mark, and we are
currently one of very few sub-contract laser providers in the UK with this accreditation.

How do I get a quotation?

You can contact us via email, phone or fax with your enquiry. We will then be able to generate drawings through our
in-house software, which imports a range of file formats such as .dxf, .dwg, .step and .ipt.

What materials can you cut?
We work with a variety of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass and titanium
For more information about specific materials, please contact our sales team.
What size and thickness can you cut?
We are able to produce laser cut profiles from just a few millimetres, up to sizes of 4m x 2m.
Thicknesses start at 0.5mm and can go up to 25mm. These use a variety of gasses and pressures which allow us
to apply different cut finishes and work to tolerances of +/-0.25mm and better

How does the process work?
We aim to send you a quote through our team of highly skilled estimators, within 24 hours of receipt.
From point of order:

Drawings are checked by our programming team who input them into our CAD systems

We can give you an accurate completion date once the job is added into our cutting schedule

Jobs are then cut and made ready for despatch or sent to the press brakes for bending if specified

Our quality control team will check any jobs against our quality assurance processes

Finished orders are packaged suitable for transport (shrink, wrapped, palletised) and notification will be sent
confirming your order is ready to be collected, or we will deliver

Can you fold my products?
Yes, as well as our precision laser cutting services, we have two state of the art CNC press brakes with folding
capacity of 4 metres and 250 tonne

Can you paint my products?
If required, painting/powder coatings can be provided by our sister company Midtherm Powder Coating Ltd.

Press Brakes / Folding
We have a 250 tonne, 4000mm wide Bystronic Press brake for larger,
thicker components such as stairs and balustrades. Our smaller 80
tonne, 2050mm wide Bystronic Press brake allows us to fold in high
quantity volumes at a fast pace for items such as brackets.

Deburring and Polishing
We can provide a deburring service to ensure our end products are
safe for handling by taking off any sharp edges after cutting. Our
WEBBER TTsC-IP(2)-1350 can also add a finish to stainless steel
such as a brushed effect, using various different pre-set programs or
configured by a skilled engineer.
