ALL ABOUT FENNEC FOX
Food: they eat kangaroo mice, mice, and lizards.

Description: Fennec foxes have very large ears a nd, is recommended as the s mallest fox
in the world it weighs about 2.2pounds, also along with the large ears they
have long tails as normal foxes have. They normally live in a warm ecosystem
such as desert like Sahara desert most animals living in deserts can live a
certain amount of period without water. Instead of normal foxes that live in
the woods, they like very dry and warm places such as deserts.

Interesting Facts: Fennec foxes are omnivores, the word omnivore specifically
means the creature is a plant eater and a meat eater. Fennec foxes appear
anywhere across africa. A Fennec fox’s size is not even 1 meter long they’re
70-80 cm long.

The Sahara desert is a ecosystem that is pretty warm, so warm
even it’s recommended as the hottest desert around the world. The
Sahara desert includes non-living and living things such as,
red imported fire ants, lizards, mice, reptiles, meerkats, camels,
kangaroo mice, and fennec fox, the non-living things are buffel
grass, fountain grass, natal grass, sahara mustard, athel tree, and
onion weed. But don’t think that’s all the “Sahara desert” has, it
has so much more.
Well the weather is not all same 2 4 hours, most deserts are warm
in the morning and noon, but when it’s evening it turns upside down,
what I mean is when it’s evening it gets really cold.
Since desert’s are really dry and Sahara desert is surprisingly also
been recommended as the driest desert t oo, so there’s a high
percentage of having a dust storm. A dust storm happens when a
deserts is too dry.

There are insects and some sorts of plants that are increasing
their population, mentioning r ed imported fire ants, buffel grass,
and fountain grass.

Page 3
Energy Transfer, food chain: The picture below doesn’t explain all of it such
as the fennec fox only eating mice but that’s not only the thing that goes on the
plate at the fennec fox’s dinner table also kangaroo mice. So the herbivores
get eaten by omnivores then they get eaten by carnivores, and it becomes a
circle and also that becomes a food chain.

Page 4
Balances and Imbalances are global warming: g lobal warming i t has a big
effect on deserts.
Infact, global warming made deserts cutting down trees and gas makes it
worse. Imagine if you live in a desert but then global warming comes along
and it gets extra hot, then how warm would it be? Because of global warming
the deserts are getting warm and warm and more dry. Most deserts are made
because of the ozone layer was torn apart. Global warming is a big issue all
around the world, but especially deserts.

Another thing that needs support is I nvasive species in the desert, there aren’t
many invasive species in the desert but there are insects that even this instant
they are growing population such as, fire ants, but instead of insects i ncreasing
population there are plants that really need support, because there was so
many of them that even it got on fire. Some of the grass include buffel grass,
fountain grass too is increasing its number of p opulation.

Adaptations: Many people don’t recognize the word, adaptation but

it means survival what a certain animal needs to live in their e cosystem.
The fennec fox can camouflage into the sand since it’s fur is the same colour,
and it becomes very handy when they start to hunt, but that’s not all what the
fennec fox has under their sleeves, when since their really small and
recommended as the smallest fox in the world, other predators don’t
recognize them. The plants living in the desert also have adaptations, for
example, the cactus has spikes instead of leaves because leaves take a lot of
water out of the inside so they have spikes instead.
