Margret’s Perspective

Oh No! I have just gotten off the ship from Africa and I am at an auction!!
(I am a slave named Margaret and I am a Girl) My family is the Hamilton’s
and we have all been separated to different owners… I am 10 years old
and my life has been hard without Ma, Pa. (Here is my physical

too run away and not get caught. My dreams are to be free from the
slave world.

Robert’s (The Owner's Perspective)

AAAAHHHH!!!!! I can finally get my first threes slave and I can barely
afford her. I hope she is a good worker. I am spending 2,000 dollars on
her and 1,000 dollars on the other 2. So that is 4,000 dollars!!! I can’t wait
till I have a full yard thing of them.

Margaret’s Perspective

I am running as fast as I ever ran before. Cotton plants are pricking my
feet. My feet are bleeding more than I have ever bled before. I cannot
turn back now. They will whip me harder than they ever whipped me. I
will have to hide somewhere for the night or else they might find me.
There are no trees around here for me to hide by for the day. Well you
know what they say. Follow the drinking gourd. But it is a cloudy night
tonight! I can’t see the stars! I really hope that they don’t find me. If they
do they will probably kill me or hurt really bad. I saw them whip my
mother before. She started crying afterwards. I don’t want that to
happen to me. My feet are getting more and more tired by the second,
but I can’t stop now. I hope that I find a Underground Railroad conductor
soon.

Robert’s Perspective

Margaret has just ran away! I literally spent 2,000 dollars on her, fed her,
and provided a house for her and what do I get. She just runs away and
all the money I spent is just going to waste. I am going to have to spend
even more money on a slave catcher if I want to even get her back
again! This is the worst day of my life!!!

Slave perspective

My name is Margaret Hamilton and I am 10 years old trying to get to
Canada It’s been hard because i've been fighting through hardships like
dogs like blood hounds tracking me so on a daily basis I go in rivers also
some other hardships that I face is wild animals like coyotes and
starvation I have been getting the water from my river because it’s all I
have to survive I am going to try my hardest to get to Canada but I know
it's gonna be hard but I can't give up now because if I get caught i’ll just
be tortured to almost death my ma and pa are waiting for me in canada

Slave hunter perspective

My name is Joe and I am searching for a girl named Margaret Hamilton
she is 10 years old brown hair negro female how I got this mission I woke
up went outside and I saw a poster like this so I found the master
because this my job to find negroes because this how I make my money
I dont get why the slaves want to escape from their masters they
probably teach them give them food and water and especially a home

Slave perspective

I have made it to a ohio station.The station master is very nice he gave
food,water,and a warm bath.He lead me to the room next to his
daughter's room. As soon as he left the room I fell into the bed and slept
like a baby for the night.In the morning I woke up to the station master
shaking me and told me to get into a hiden room.I ask why walle we were
racing down the stars and he said slave catchers were in town and
about to knock on the door.I slide under the wooden floor.they came in
and stept on the floor board I was looking throu and said we where clear
and walk out for more houses.That night he gave me some bread and I
was on my way.

Station master perspective

I am Charlie, I am a station master and I am glad to help margret and
other slave get to freedom in canada.When she got here I gave her some
food and water and a clean bath. She went into the room across and
the room next to my daughters room.In the morning I wnet outside and
saw slave catchers seaching for slaves and they have a warent to look
in houses.I sprint in side and told Margret to go in one of my trap doors
in the floor.I took her to it and she slipted in right before the slave
catchers knocked on the door.They came in and look around and said I
was clean and left.later that night I gave her some food to last her a wile
and she wnt on her way to canada.
