Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin has three campuses which are Gong Badak Campus, Medical Campus
and Besut Campus. Gong Badak Campus focuses on the teaching and research of Islamic knowledge,
which are harmonized with the other conventional teachings. The latest addition of health sciences at
Gong Badak Campus and the proposed plan of constructing a teaching hospital is a jewel on the crown
of this campus. The Medical Campus on the other hand offers programs in Medicine and the Besut
Campus is being developed with a niche in agriculture such as agricultural biotechnology and other
related programs. The courses offered in the three campuses will not overlap and each will have its
own specialties.

CORE VALUES

2. GENERAL INFORMATION OF FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
2.1 Background History of Its Development
The Faculty of Health Sciences was re-established again effective from 1st of January 2015.This was based
on the management of the university’s decision to split the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences into
two separate faculties in order to aid the introduction of new courses. The Faculty of Medicine & Health
Sciences officially began its operation on 18th September 2007 based on the structure of the previously
established Faculty of Health Sciences, which was approved by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE),
Malaysia on 29th January 2007. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences ceased its operation with
the bifurcation of the Faculty into two individual Faculties. The move represented part of MOHE’s far-sighted
visions and initiatives in nurturing, developing and training more students in the medical, health sciences
as well as allied health disciplines in attempts to generate greater proportions of medical and healthcare
professionals for Terengganu particularly and for the country generally. By producing high quality graduates
in these critical areas, UniSZA will realize its vision to emerge as a higher learning institution with
international standards capable of delivering leaders possessing highly-polished thinking infused with
excellent levels of knowledge and embedded with strong cultural as well as ethical principles.
2.2 Faculty Aim
To become a centre of academic excellence in producing holistic health professionals.

MISSION

Producing refined and proficient health sciences graduates in line with community needs through academic
and research excellence.
