Section Foreword Ipoh is one of the capital cities in the northern region of Malaysia, Perak. Covering an area of 643km2 and located only approximately 200 KM from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The geographical surface of Ipoh City is surrounded by beautiful limestone valleys and Ipoh City is home to approximately 800 thousand people. The city of Ipoh also has an airport in the center of the city and can be accessed through Changi Airport Singapore. The frequency of Singapore flights is almost every day and that is one of the advantages of Ipoh City. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, Ipoh has launched the vision of Ipoh Smart Green City by 2030. This vision is not just a wishful thinking but to show that we are stern about this matter. The proof is the existence of an MBI Strategic Plan that includes the Ipoh Smart City Action Plan 2030 and the Low Carbon City Action Plan 2030. We have also implemented several major Smart Green Cities projects in these two years since the blueprint was launched. Among them was Ipoh Integrated Operation Center (IIOC), Smart Traffic System, Smart Surveillance, Solar Panel Project and Rain Water Harvesting System. In order to achieve the Smart Green City aspirations by 2030, we have established a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the two main Smart Green Cities entities in Malaysia, namely Smart City Unit Plan Malaysia and TMOne. These entities have formed a team collaboration with each other. MBI as the main stakeholder has been guided by Plan Malaysia for the smart city framework as a monitoring tool and also TMOne as a strategic partner in the main Smart & Green projects. This collaboration has been proven by the successful implementation of the project in a short time and will also be prove that we are ready to become the main Pilot City in Malaysia for the Smart Green Asean Cities Program (SGAC). Notably, this national-level event provides an ideal platform for the graduates and students to share ideas, exchange knowledge, and promote closer relations among members across branches and student sections, which further fosters science, in particular, the field of engineering.
