Rebuilding The Altar - Restoring Prayer, Worship & Consecration

CONSECRATION JOURNAL

RĊćĚĎđĉĎēČ ęčĊ AđęĆėBeloved Abundant Life Family,As we step boldly into 2026, I greet you with gratitude, faith, and great expectation. God has carried us, kept us, and covered us, and now He is calling us forward into a defining season. This year, the Lord has placed a clear word in my spirit for our house: “Rebuilding the Altar.” Like Elijah in 1 Kings 18:30, we are responding to God’s call to repair what has been broken, restore what has been neglected, and reestablish what must once again be sacred.2026 is not about rushing ahead; it is about realignment before expansion. Before God sends greater increase, He strengthens foundations. Before He multiplies fruit, He restores roots. This year, our growth, spiritually, numerically, and impactfully, will flow from rebuilt altars inour personal lives, our families, and our church.Throughout the year, we will journey together month by month, intentionally restoring the altars of devotion, faith, family, worship, prayer, deliverance, service, community, generosity, evangelism, gratitude, and vision. This is not just a prayer guide, it is a pathway to transformation. As we pray together weekly for souls, revival, unity, healing, leaders, families, and the revealed glory of God, we will see Heaven respond.

At the same time, we are moving forward with clarity and structure through our 3-Year Strategic Ministry Plan, anchored in the declaration:“Stronger, Building People, Strengthening Families, Impacting the City.”In 2026 and beyond, here is the growth vision I am leading us into:· Spiritually, we will become a more mature, disciplined, and Spirit-filled church through discipleship, prayer encounters, small groups, and leadership development.· Corporately, our Sunday experience will be excellent, welcoming, and Spirit-led, creating space for God’s presence and people’s transformation.· Relationally, we will strengthen families, invest deeply in children, youth, and young adults, and build a culture of unity, service, and love.· Purposefully, Abundant Life Cathedral will continue to rise as a vital resource in the Raleigh community, feeding the hungry, mentoring the young, restoring hope, and winning souls.· Strategically, we will grow responsibly, tracking progress, stewarding finances wisely, developing leaders intentionally, and preparing facilities for future expansion.

This is a year of intentional rebuilding, but make no mistake, it is also a year of supernatural acceleration. As we rebuild the altar, God will answer by fire. Lives will be changed. Families will be restored. Souls will be saved. Vision will be sharpened. And we will emerge stronger than we entered.I am asking every member, leader, and partner to commit fully, to prayer, to service, to generosity, to unity, and to growth. What we build together in 2026 will shape generations to come.Let us move forward with faith, expectation, and obedience, declaring together that God’s plan will prevail, our end will be what He intended, and it shall be good.Welcome to 2026.Welcome to the year of Rebuilding the Altar.Welcome to a Stronger Abundant Life Cathedral. In His Service,Bishop Stenneth E. Powell, Sr.Senior Pastor, Abundant Life Cathedral

FėĔĒ ęčĊ DĊĘĐ Ĕċ OĚė BĎĘčĔĕ….As we stand at the threshold of a new year, we are not simply turning a calendar page, we are stepping into a divine reset. Many desire twelve months of happiness, a year of peace, success, health, and love, but hear me clearly: what you experience in this season will be shaped by what you believe, what you expect, and what you say. This is why God has given us our 2026 mandate: Rebuilding the Altar. In Scripture, before ϐire fell, before rain returned, before victory was visible, Elijah repaired the altar. The altar had to be restored before heaven could respond. Likewise, God is calling us to rebuild not only the altar of prayer and worship, but the altar of the mind, the altar of belief, and the altar of our words.Rebuilding the altar prepares us to maintain positive expectations. Expectation is faith’s posture. If you expect defeat, you will speak defeat. If you expect breakthrough, your words will align with heaven. Expectation determines interpretation, how you see challenges, delays, and opportunities.Rebuilding the altar also forces us to confront our selftalk. Many battles are not external, they are internal. The greatest conversations shaping your future are the ones happening silently within you.

What you repeatedly say to yourself becomes the script your life follows. Negative self-talk quietly dismantles conϐidence, weakens faith, and limits obedience. Faith-ϐilled self-talk builds courage, endurance, and clarity.God created the world with His Word, and when He created humanity, His masterpiece, He formed us in His image. That means our words carry weight. Our language is not casual; it is creative. Words are seeds. What you speak consistently is what you plant intentionally or unintentionally. This is why rebuilding the altar increases belief. When the altar is broken, belief becomes fragile. But when the altar is restored, belief becomes bold. You stop saying “I can’t” and start declaring “I will learn.” You stop saying “This will never work” and start saying “God is showing me the way.” Faith is not denial, it is alignment.Let me say this plainly: you are always programming your life with your words. Your mind does not argue with what you say, it obeys it. Speak failure long enough and your life will follow that instruction. Speak faith long enough and your steps will begin to line up with God’s promises.

Instead, we will:Speak expectation instead of doubtSpeak faith instead of fearSpeak victory instead of struggleSpeak life instead of limitationRebuilding the altar means guarding our environment, both around us and within us. If negativity has polluted your thinking, remember this truth: the solution to mental pollution is dilution. Flood your mind with God’s Word, worship, prayer, and faith declarations until negativity loses its authority. This year, use your words as tools.Tools to build.Tools to heal.Tools to align.Tools to advance. You are not a victim of your circumstances. You are a steward of your mindset. You are not powerless. You are positioned. The power of spoken word will change your life. You’re not meant to go through life with small dreams, low selfesteem and a defeated mindset. You can’t have a negative mouth and a positive life. Commit to changing the way you speak. As with all things, it becomes much easier the longer you do. Join me in regularly reciting our 2026 declaration:

Abundant Life Cathedral 2026 DeclarationI declare that God knows the plans He has for me.Even when I don’t understand the process, heaven is not confused about my future.I declare that I am not forgotten, overlooked, or abandoned.I may be in a waiting season, but I am still in God’s will.I declare that every season of delay is producing divinedevelopment. What looked like captivity is turning into clarity. What looked like loss is becoming alignment.I declare that peace is restored to my mind, my home, and my spirit.Confusion is breaking.Anxiety is lifting.Hope is rising again.I declare that my latter end shall be greater than my former beginning. This is not how my story ends.God is writing a better conclusion than my past predicted.

I declare that while I wait, I will build. While I wait, I will plant. While I wait, I will pray. While I wait, I will rebuild the altar of worship, obedience, and faith.I declare that every promise spoken over my life is still alive.Time has not canceled it.Delay has not denied it.Opposition has not destroyed it.I declare that I am coming out of this season wiser, stronger, and more anointed.I will not just survive, I will emerge.I declare peace over my future, favor over my family, clarity over my calling, and strength for the journey. And I declare by faith:God’s plan will prevail. My end will be what God expected. And it shall be good.In Jesus’ name,Amen.

7 Steps For Observing A Fast1. Be speciϐic.Do not be vague in your objections. Deϐine your reason(s) for fasting immediately. 2. Fast as a spiritual commitment. Reϐlect on the level of your spiritual commitment. Remain in constant prayer during the fast. Refrain from gossip, and avenues that support it (ie. Gossip blogs or shows)3. Reϐlect inner desire by external discipline. Many people have an inner desire for better health, but they can’t discipline themselves to avoid junk food, and other foods that are not good for their health. The physical health you seek from God may be more than an answer to prayer. Your physical health may be linked to any of the following factors: a) Your food choicesb) Your time commitment. If you determine to fast for a certain time, keep it. For example, if you determine to fast ten days, don’t stop on day nine.4. Pray to see sin’s role in your health or sickness.Actions and attitudes are important. James said, “are there any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms.” James 5:135. Fast as a statement of faith to others.6. Learn the effects of the foods. Why are some foods good for us, and other foods not? What does certain food do to your body? If we really knew, there would likely be some things we would never eat again.7. Yield all results to God.
